An unpretentious pub offering a warm and friendly welcome. We enjoyed a Friday evening meal here as an extended family. The staff went above and beyond to help me conceal cupcakes for a pre-birthday celebration and the locals were very welcoming too! Our food was freshly cooked and the portions ample. We recommended the pub to others who went for lunch the next day and had the same positive experience. If we are staying in the area again, we won’t hesitate to go back.

Only ware and tear on the room and bathroom that gave it a four star food superb great choice friendly attentive staff priority booking great location.

Only popped in for a coffee while waiting for car MOT at garage next door. Really impressed with the service and will definitely be back to try the food.

Went to the Prince of Wales on Monday for lunch with my foster daughter. I had the most amazing time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Lunch was delicious, I had the Steak and Ale pie, which was so big that I took some home in a takeaway container that they provided me with and my daughter had scampi. Both very happy and very full. Will definitely be returning, what a lovely local pub, highly recommended. Thank you prince of wales x

Can't comment on the rooms etc but being our local it actually fantastic to be able to have quality good food on our doorstep for a change! Been almost every week since new ownership. Food is superb. Decor is tastefully done too . Staff are polite everything was clean etc

Great food, staff and atmosphere. A friendly pub and all are welcome including dogs which is a big plus. I must say the new custodians have done a fantastic job and have turned around a pub that has struggled over recent years to create a pub I would happily dine with family, including the children or just pop in for a pint or few and enjoy a football match. Keep up the good work.

Great place to stay, stayed here for a week great live music and food was amazing cheap drinks and friendly staff will be back again

We have been to the POW since it was taken over last year 2024 & recently 2025 about 10 times, had a large family xmas lunch there and food was very very good. Our 1st bad experience was on the 2nd March when I had a turkey roast, a guy with a white shirt behind the bar noticed the food that was given out not being good and sent it back and said he will let the chefs know, wasn't offered a refund or a alternative but TBH I wasn't bothered about a refund and left it at that. Today 23rd March we went back after 3 weeks the only way i can describe the food is horrible, wish I had taken a picture. Mistake they made they didn't offer to correct it or offer a alternative. I asked if the chef has been changed because I seriously can't understand how food can go from good to very very poor. We saw people today we know also having a meal at the POW and they also didn't have a great meal either. I would like to know if the management could speak to the member of staff from the 3rd, and the staff today what the problem is and if the chefs been changed . Unfortunately now I have to get a takeaway!!!!

Really nice place now so clean food great and lots of space for teens to play pool and darts

We had breakfast as part of a party of 22 motorhome owners. Even with such a large group we were looked after brilliantly. The portions were large and well worth the money. Before leaving booked Sunday lunch. Like to support our local businesses.

Just has a late lunch here, food was excellent and will certainly come back. Recommend

Extremely helpful staff and excellent value for money!

Popped in for a cheeky roast. Been waiting for a while to visit as due to working I very rarely get a Sunday off. Well it was worth the wait. Roast cooked to perfection. 6 happy people, bellies full and hardly any food left on the plates. Even though we were full, we somehow managed to squeeze in a yummy pudding. Well done to all the staff, great pub, great food and we will be back again very soon. Lou (bus driver).

Couldn't be bothered to cook one night so we decided to try out the newly refurbed establishment close to home. Wasn't sure whether we could seat ourselves or wait to be seated as the tables were empty, not much of a welcome from the staff. The food was what you'd expect, nothing fancy, nothing to remember, just typical pub grub that has recently risen in price dramatically without the quality following suit. Probably wouldn't return, unless it was for a swift pint and a game of pool.

Lovely rooms, welcoming and friendly staff. Great food, especially excellent breakfasts. Our first time here, but we’ll definitely stay again. They even let our doggies stay overnight too!

Stayed here for 4 days, the new owners have made an amazing uplift to how the previous owners ran the place. Head chef and his staff are doing a great job. Rooms are super cosy. We were going to find somewhere else to stay for the second leg of our trip but booked to come back here as it would be hard to find anywhere else the same standard.

Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere and great selection of drinks. Definitely will go back with any occasion. I had the chance to meet the owner, he has such a lovely personality, very charming, it was a pleasure to have a chat with him!

We just had our Christmas dinner here and it was absolutely delicious. The food came out hot. We certainly didn't go hungry! Starters were amazing, roast turkey with all the trimmings and lots of lovely veg. Creme brullee with a vrry short shortcakr was amazing .

Beautiful food and very friendly and accommodating staff. Best of all decent portions and very reasonably priced. Nicely renovated. As our local not been before but saw a post on FB and thought we would give it a try. Roast was fab value for money and tastes gorgeous, along with the sticky toffee pudding. Will defo return. Can’t comment on hotel but looks very nice and clean and plush!

Had a light bite here today. Been successfully refurbished and the food was good and arrived quickly. Nice place.

New owners have took over they are doing a brilliant job everybody works so hard the food and service are first rate .

We were staying at Osborne House so this is at the end of the drive. The team here are lovely and welcoming. Local beer and gin. Food was terrific. And when we visited the here was a discount for English Heritage members. Hoping very much to return and e can try more of the menu.

Stopped off at the prince of wales since the reopening and wow.. The food was 20/10, it was perfectly priced, perfect filling portions and bloody beautiful to eat. Me and my partner had burgers with loaded fries and we were not disappointed. They weren’t just boring burgers, they had all the nice flavours and the loaded fries were honestly the best we’d ever had! The meals were so good we went back a couple days later and got the same meals as a takeaway. This place is honestly well worth the visit if you want some unreal but good for money food. We will be returning very shortly. Can’t recommend enough!

Had a really lovely meal there today. The food was amazing, the portion sizes are perfect and the price is really good value. The staff were all very friendly and happy to stop and chat. The pub is bright inside and has a cosy, welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend the Prince of Wales to everyone.

Had a lovely meal from the new menu. Excellent food and very reasonably priced. New owners, staff and chef are very welcoming, friendly and more than happy to help. Will definitely be back again. 😀

Nice place but stopped selling meals about 7ish and had little choice.

Lovely deco.had a meal chips nice salad could of been a bit more of it and cress haded.scampi not good not the real scampi.but will be going back as I hear the kitchen as not yet been really set up.but over all good. Maggie.

We had a meal..Burger with extra bacon and cheese..To be honest the burger was way overdone. Very basic. Chips where nice.. To present a plate of food needs to look the part. Hopefully when the main menu is back the food is good hopefully. At moment doesn't compare to shoreside cafe..

Highly recommend this pub under new ownership. We abandoned our visit to Osborne House and the horse event yesterday and arrived wet and bedraggled, seeking shelter and a hot drink. What we got was a warm welcome and some excellent food (our two pizza expert granddaughters said it was the best pizza they'd ever had and one even ate the crusts!) all at reasonable prices. The service was friendly and helpful and if we ever venture back to Osborne House we'll certainly go again. There are also rooms available. Excellent experience! Stopped in for lunch after the ferry. Food was amazing, the Islander ale was beautiful. Reasonably priced. The place has recently had a full refurbishment and looks amazing. 10/10 would recommend!

Be warned place has closed down booked 2 rooms to turn up and find the place all shut up
