Potentially lovely bar. Good service, good beer, but no food and in need of TLC in what is a glorious sun trap of a beer garden. A friendly locals pub with live music at weekends.

I think it's great that this pub is still open. I have been going there for years, and although I miss all the people who used to be there, it's still nice, one of the cheaper bars, does sandwiches for £1.50 and has outside seating

Tucked away in a side street away from the centre. Quiet during the day but can be very busy in the evenings when (loud) live music is performed. Real ales on tap.

Dropped in for the monthly music quiz while staying in the area and were warmly welcomed, seemed like a very friendly place and good value too.

Proper locals pub. Good atmosphere and live music is always a winner.

Perfect venue for dog owners, for locals, or for people looking for live music. I’ve been coming to The Simeon Arms for years now, and I couldn’t recommend a better place. It’s a bit out of the way location-wise, but once you find it, you’ll be enamoured. The staff are fantastic each and every one, the patrons are welcoming and friendly. If you’ve got a dog, you’ve got a very warm welcome ahead of you. If you like live music, Fridays are your best bet. You will be very happy with your choice, the music is always top notch, the prices are fantastic (far better than other venues in the Ryde area) and you’ll be a happy man/woman if you come here.

I’ve been going to this pub for years now, the friendliness is unrivalled. Whether you’re a local, or a newbie, you will get treated the exact same with a lovely vibe to the place. Staff AND patrons are easy to talk to, and full of friendliness. Dog owners are more than welcome, the landlord is welcoming to dogs of any breed and makes everybody welcome. Cannot recommend highly enough, prices and vibes are unrivalled. Please visit, you won’t regret it!

A real hidden gem in Ryde. I have been visiting the IOW since the 1960s and have been working over there for many years, but found this pub by accident back in November 2021 as it is well tucked away. Finally visited and found a deceptively large pub with friendly staff and customers along with some great beers! Looking forward to getting back!

We visited this pub in the hope of finding some live sport. This was not to be. We were served by a lovely lady who was polite and gave great service. We were 5 of 8 people in the whole pub at this time. All was going well until a male (wearing a pac-man t shirt) entered the pub who I now know worked there or May of even been the landlord was incredibly rude and unapproachable when our dog who had been impeccably behaved with no barking or straying walked 2 metres towards him (before I stopped him in full control) and he aggressively told us that ‘if your dog is going to wander the pub he should be on a lead’!! Our dog wasn’t wandering the pub and had sat with us for the hour we were there. We left and had zero goodbyes or thank you’s from said man. This isn’t a dog friendly or Person friendly pub. Oh, there was also no sport on. It’s a shame as the initial interactions with the bar lady were really nice. Avoid!

Went to wedding so only used function room. Staff were polite and place was clean.

We go in for quiz nights and a couple of bands in the past. This is a proper back street pub. Friendly staff, easy banter and also dog friendly.

The staff absolutly make this place, its a old fashioned spit and sawdust boozer. Dimly lit and a bit pokey but their garden is gorgeous and the service is some of the best I've had in a while

During a week's vacation (or holiday, as we Brits call it), my friends and I stopped in at this fine establishment on the recommendation of a colleague (who was not in fact in our company at the time). Well now, I can tell you that we had a lovely time... The ale refreshed our parched mouthsandthroats and one of our company took time to learn the history of fruit machines. Friendly staff and good beer... What more could one ask for? Bar snacks! Yes, we sampled, and were well pleased. Good pub.

Primarily a local’s ale house / football pub located in the back streets to the east of Ryde Esplanade. Decor is tired but functional, two real ales on that were relatively well kept. Table service due to COVID but no easy way to attract the staff when they were chatting to locals round the other side of the bar! A reasonable stop off for a drink but perhaps not fair to fully judge the place in these unusual times.

This pub is well worth seeking out, the girls behind the bar made our visit a very welcoming one from the moment we walked through the door. The beer was well kept and the prices are very reasonable. Many thanks go to them, especially to the lovely lady from New York for a fabulous day.

Well worth seeking out, its just off the sea front in Ryde, the staff are very welcoming, the drinks prices are very reasonable, they do have live entertainments, when we visited it was a sunny warm day so they were playing on a small stage in the back garden area, but there is a much larger stage in side for larger groups to play, we seen a male duo who were very entertaining with music to suit all ages.

Cheap drinks though not a massive selection. Bar is fine, advertised as having bar games etc but because of covid these have been taken away. Big TV's showing the football.

Brilliant Pub... live music in the garden on a Saturday afternoon in an enclosed sunny courtyard, social distancing & hygiene regulations adhered to and very cheap drinks.

Lost at singles pool but was welcomed by lots of lovely team members most of whom were players from the Simeon,lovely group of people. Great night x

Great beer, friendly staff, well worth seeking out.

We took out fish and chips for our family to eat on the Esplanade nearby, five adults and five children. The chips seemed like a mass produced product, almost dry as an oven chip. The fish looked anaemic with very thin batter and the fish itself seemed to have gone off, a sour taste. We complained to the shop. One young man offered a refund, the older one was less sure and began to examine the fish. I left as I simply wanted them to get it right for future customers. There is another chip shop just 70 yards away. We will try this one next time. I'm afraid the Codpiece, sorry... Codfather is off our list, just like the fish.

Second visit to the pub and still as good as the first time. A great 'locals' pub but the staff are just as friendly & welcoming to visitors. The beer (Goddard's 'Ale of Wight') was in excellent condition

Saw a great musician here- Peter Frampton- not the real one, but a gifted performer. Drinks are very reasonably priced, bar staff very friendly and the clientele welcoming. Would definitely go again

Visited this pub over the Beer and Buses weekend. Everyone in here is nice and friendly, both the staff and the punters alike - there was a great atmosphere and the entertainment, a band called 'Superstition', were very polished. It was a great night. Just one criticism - the real ale comes up too warm - I wish they would reduce the temperature in the cellar!

A very busy pub throughout the day with the best prices (cheap) and live Premiership /Champions League Football. Not a Pub Grub Pub.....Eat elsewhere!

Called in with friends and received s warm welcome. The drinks were reasonably priced and a big tele was showing football. Not loud or crowded but not empty either. No staring locals just people chatting. Very friendly barmaid and a few people playing cards. A proper local.

I called in for a quick half when on a trip down memory lane. (I used to go with a family member when on holiday many moons ago.) I think perhaps I had rose tinted glasses on my previous visits as everything the reviews say about the cleanliness are true. (Awful!) I was also accosted by a barfly who was a few inches short of molesting me. I had to move away pronto. (I think the Aussie? barmaid would have come to my rescue, but this is one good reason, among others to stay away!) A true example of the worst of the old pub culture!

What a lovely place to stop off for a drink , food was proper good wholesome pub food with a good selection of beers & wines . Just a stones through from the beach and a 5 min walk to town its a great alternative to the high street bars . Try there Sunday Roasts there amazing .

This pub is just off one of the side streets about a 5 minute walk out of Ryde town centre. The lady made us very welcome and the beer we had was well kept. A real gem and well worth a visit. Sandwiches available if you feel peckish.

Brilliant night out. Great music, professional band, and superb bar staff. Lovely local clientelle, bit crowded, but with such a good band, only to be expected. Went in for 1/2hr to wet the throat, and ended up staying 3 hours. Brilliant night.

The Simeon is a proper pub. Friendly with a lovely atmosphere. Bar staff are friendly and obliging. They even got my favourite tipple in for me after only our first visit. It definitely won't be our last.

I guess if you're into a back street dive sort of pub, this is for you. Otherwise, I'd give it a wide berth, toilets were filthy, generally REALLY poor.

Por desgracia, raramente nos dan para ir al pub, ya, pero cuando lo hacemos salir casi indudablemente frecuentan el Simeon en algún momento.

Este es un buen viejo pub de estilo amable. El ambiente es cálido y el personal muy agradable. Lo único necesario es un "renovación" a el patio exterior en la parte trasera. Es agradable cuando el sol está afuera, pero se necesita más suave, con bañeras y cestas colgantes. Si fue hecho personas pueden quedar más tiempo y comprar más bebidas!!
