Ryde Castle in Isle of Wight

Chose the wrong day. Wedding event occupying the staff's attention. Food, fish goujons, steak ciabatta and battered squid 45 mins in arriving. Really was adequate at best, thrown together and stuck on a plate. I'm sure they have better days!

Sophie behind the bar was so lovely and had such a friendly manner, will definitely come back - so nice to come to place so welcoming

Our daughter performed and celebrated her wedding here. All guests were received with the same amount of friendliness and we lacked nothing. As the father of the bride, I would like to give a very big compliment to the hospitality, helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. 10+

Good value .great staff. Good food .

The food was unbelievably disappointing. Roast dinner. Beef was overcooked & bland, roast potatos were tiny with no potatoe inside & oily, gravy was lumpy & cold, sides were forgotten 3-4 requests to get the right orders, veg was full of water.. We refused to pay & left to find an alternative.

I had a really nice meal here, I had the Sea Bass Risotto, well cooked with good flavours and well presented. My mother stayed at the hotel and had a lovely room, however, she did stay for 2 nights, and her room wasn't serviced during that time, which wasn't an issue with the room being dirty, however, it would have been nice if the tea and coffee had been filled up on a daily basis

I was really disappointed with the service today. Came in for some early dinner with my family, the dining room wasnt that busy but only 1 waiter. At first very attentive and got orders in straight away, after that everything just got slower; Dinner took maybe 20 minutes to come out which is fair enough: four of us, 2 sunday roasts and 2 kids meals and everyone elses mothers day meals to cook. The food left a lot to be desired-the beef was fatty and tough, which meant most of it was left on the plate and the veg for the sunday roast was a tiny portion of carrots and parsnips (I won't count the undercooked teeny potatoes) But after we finished eating there was 2 other tables in the room and after waiting 30 minutes to get the waiters attention for the bill and our plates were never taken away. The toilets were clearly never attended as there was no toilet paper in one of the loos in the 2 hours we were there. Very upsetting when it was good two years ago. Ruined my mum's Mothers Day.

The staff In all depts where amazing ,hotel is lovely will definitely be visiting again.

Another lovely visit to Ryde Castle. Never disappointed with the level of service from the staff but a special mention for Emma who once again provided that extra special level of fun and unique level of professionalism. Well done.

Could not of provided a better experience! From checking in to checking out everything about our 4-night stay was beyond criticism. Sean, Mark, Aimee and the whole team were absolutely superb. What more do you want? .... A sincerely warm welcome: great food from breakfast through to dinner; fantastic room, sensitively serviced and scrupulously cleaned; secure and handy ample on-site parking. Need we say more? A great way to start our "staycation summer"..(Beware of the horrendous ferry charges for you and your car - it's always been the same ). And the new Island Line trains should be up and running (sic) "by the end of the summer holidays" ; maybe they've missed a trick there!! But that's in no way the fault of the Ryde Castle Hotel, which was a superb experience all round.Despite the ferry charges - we'll be back!!

The food was poor and the service was slow. We were in the back dining room so felt like we’d been forgotten about most of the evening. Such a shame as this used to be fairly consistent, decent pub grub. Hopefully they will improve as they get back into the swing of it.

Had a really nice meal and drinks in the garden area, for my boyfriends birthday. The food was great and although they were really busy, Paige was on top of everything and always checking in to see if we were OK or needed anything.

Went to the Ryde Castle for drinks and dinner. Had drinks outside on the terrace, and ate dinner inside. Excellent table service all round, a good choice of hard and soft drinks, and great choices on the food menu. Food cooked to a high standard. Happy to recommend the Ryde Castle, and very happy to return in the future. Suggest you book to avoid disappointment. Well done to the Ryde Castle team.

We came for breakfast this morning. Shannon was really cheerful and very helpful. Great service with a smile. Also interacted with my children which was great to see. Food was amazing too

The decor is very nice throughout. We stayed for a night on business. We had an evening meal and it was excellent. The service was good and Covid safe. The best thing is that all of the staff were very friendly and helpful. Rated a 4 and not a 5 as the breakfast could have been better. Apart from the eggs, it was clear that the others items had been on hot plates and I do like lots of hot drinks at breakfast. I am sure that this is just because of Covid and would gladly recommend.

Average pub, food services was OK. Staff seemed to be quite slow. Better luck next time I guess......

Come in large group on Friday 21st evening. With a work colleagues. Our waitress Lizzie was looking after us took all our orders, we were a pain a ordered and paid individually. Great service from Lizzie and bar ladies who kept making our drinks.

Was welcome by Lizzie on the door and she asked us to do track and trace and went though the rules.... she guide us to our table in restaurant, said our waitress Megan will be over shortly. Food was amazing and very tasty . We recommend this restaurant/pub they have everything in place to keep everyone safe.

Aimee and Kevin were fantastic this evening! Took my dad out for a late Birthday drink and meal and couldn't fault the service! Felt very safe and socially distanced from other tables aswell! :)

Me and a group of my friends came here yesterday, we ate and drank all day, the the staff was fantastic and food was incredible! They couldn’t do enough for us, the manager Sean was so friendly and made sure all of our needs was met. We can’t wait to come back again thank you all so much. Ainsley and the lads

Well, where do I start! I got pissed on by God! And there were no brollys to shelter my freshly straightened hair, most upset! I recieved fat chips instead of skinny fries, my baby gem lettuce was actually iceberg! Also extremely upset.. I also asked the lovely waitress lizzie if I could get a new burger if I didn't like the chutney provided and was declined! But as it happens it was rather nice.. oh and there's no outdoor heater so I had to bring my own blanket! Other than that it was an amazing experience dinning at Ryde Castle, had a giggle with the staff and thoroughly enjoyed myself! Highly recommended

Decided on a whim to see if we could grab a table for a quick drink, Emma welcomed us at the entrance and whilst apologising that all tables were fully booked, checked how long we were looked to stop for. She then checked all reservations and managed to find a table that was free for long enough to stop for a cheeky drink and also a side of nachos! The service was speedy and friendly and we will be back!! Many Thanks Emma!!

We booked for lunch, disabled access was good, the one way system for entering a little confusing but we coped. Food was delicious and staff friendly

This place is just spot on ! We took our daughter for the ‘ Breakfast with the princesses’ event this morning . Organisation was spot on , food was spot on and staff are still incredible ! Would highly recommend the function room for family and corporate events Once again a successful trip . Top work Castle !

Hotel room is amazing and the bed is super comfortable! Food was amazing. I ordered the Tikka Masala and it was the best Tikka Masala I have ever had. Staff was very helpful and communicated with guests/customers very well. Thank you to Emma, Lizzie & Craig the staff who work at the hotel and Restaurant. I will be coming back again! You have made me feel welcome! I would give you 10* but I’m afraid I can only give you 5* Thank you and see you again soon.

Id highly recommend the ryde castle hotel, the food is devine and the staff and management did all that was needed to make my stay great. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the beds so cosy. Being disabled means i have to ask more that normal and they were great.A 5 star service at a great price.

My father and I popped into the Ryde Castle Hotel for a drink before exploring the area and we were served by a lovely member of staff called Emma. Emma’s had a wonderful sense of humour and made us feel instantly welcome and comfortable. Due to Emma’s warmth, we will certainly be visiting again and potentially staying at the Hotel.

What can I say the food was amazing, server Lizzie was making sure we had everything we needed and kept our drinks topped up. She made us laugh and joke around with us which was nice definitely coming back. Jess who sat us down was ever polite and welcoming.

We stayed there for 4 nights and only slept for two of them. First night we were on the second floor and all night all we could hear was the plumbing cutting in and out. We managed to move rooms but then on another night had drunks across the road making a noise and keeping us awake again. Not the best of stays

I visited Ryde Castle on a Friday, during the early evening, after the staff helpfully managed to fit myself and my friend in with a last minute table booking.The staff were not only helpful but also very friendly, despite being reasonably busy.We placed an order for the steak & ale pie, and the salmon florentine. Our order arrived in good time, looking delicious and piping hot. We both enjoyed our meals, and the staff ensured as much with a timely check back, which was much appreciated. I hope to be able to visit again soon!

I got married at Ryde castle yesterday everything went smoothly thanks to Kay who organised our day, Aimee and Lucy for outstanding service helping us keep our glasses topped up and the music playing ❤️ Thank you to everyone who was a part of the team yesterday! Also a big thanks to Simone for helping us along with Kay through all of the changes and new regulations! Our server was Jay and he was great, nothing was too much trouble and he made us fell at home. Lovely food at a great price and a lovely pint. All the staff seemed so friendly and helpful couldn't recommend more.

We visited for the second time in a month on Saturday and were impressed with the service and the food. Very attentive and good quality in a pleasant atmosphere. The precautions in place because of the pandemic were handled well and unobtrusively. Wonderful staff with Paige in the restaurant being a particular star. We will be back soon. The Island needs good quality, reasonably priced and well presented places like this.

As I’m sure you can understand I wasn’t expecting much from The Castle & if you’ve read my previous reviews you know my standards are that of french nobility. Normally frequented by scaffolders, wannabe football hooligans & general scumbags of Ryde I was pleasantly surprised by my recent visit. The place was immaculate, the staff were friendly & there wasn’t a runny nosed Beeney in sight!My starter, Chicken Liver Pâté, resembled a Renaissance painting, the rosemary was ornately placed on top of a creamy layer of buttery fat & the bread was toasted so perfectly that Michelangelo would have been proud to call it one of his works. The pâté could only be described as a masterpiece, as if the Statue of David himself had come to life, grown arms, ripped the livers from eight virgin hens & prepared it as an offering to the Gods. My main, a simple yet well thought out chicken burger was presumably prepared from the breast of one of the aforementioned avians. Whoever prepared this dish knew their way around a cock, the meat was delicious. Not to mention the porky kiss that was the rasher of streaky bacon, skin on fries, understated side salad & a burger bun resembling the bosom of an 18th century milk maid, soft, delicate & powder white.Visiting The Castle parallels visiting a Thai Massage Parlour, friendly & welcoming with undertones of shame & excitement. There’s a chance you could sit in something sticky & you would never openly talk about going there. However, you’ll always leave with a smile on your face & a skip in your step.*It’s also worth noting that our server clearly had special needs, it’s great to see that this venue truly is an equal opportunities employer!

Came here for a 2 course meal on saturday, received great service by a lovely young girl Amalie. She greeted us wit a smile & was very attentive, always making sure we had everything we needed. The food was as good as always, with reasonable portion sizes. Left very happy & will return again soon.

Had a 2 night stay and loved it, location is perfect and sea view is great.Breakfast and evening meal was good sized and very tasty, all staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Had a brief chat with the manager who asked about our stay, couldn't be more welcoming.Will be back soon

Visited today around 1:30 with my wife and daughter. I had chosen the chicken in a basket, great portions of chicken, lovely and moist. The best meal I have had there period! My wife had the bacon and cheese burger. In which she said had great flavour and generous portions of chips and three onion rings. A side of ciabatta garlic bread with cheese which was toasted with perfection. My daughter had a kid build our own pasta, which is a great idea. She had nearly eaten it all. All in all, a great please to visit. The staff are very welcoming and polite.

Me and hubby stayed here for 4 nights and we have had a wonderful stay. All staff we came into contact with were very friendly and welcoming. Room with a view of the sea and Portsmouth, had everything we needed, hairdryer, iron etc. Slept like a log every night which is u usual for me! The bar area is lovely, we were able to sit outside on the first day, great little sun trap.We drove over and drove all over the island and felt like we were in the best part. We will be back xx

After being let down at the weekend for my birthday my family and I went to ryde castle for a meal. When we arrived we were shown to our table to be greeted with the table beautifully presented with birthday balloons ect. This was a wonderful surprise and staff went above and beyond to make my birthday special.Food was wonderful and steak cooked to order, puddings were even better. We arrived and was greeted by the manager sean, who was very friendly. Was sat in a lovely room and had some good food and was well looked after. We'll be back.

Chose to visit for lunch and were offered a table in a side room off the main passageway. The menu was extensive but mainly pub grub type food. We ordered (eventually) and the two drinks then took 25 minutes to arrive. The food took a further 15 minutes despite it not being a large or complex order. We felt neglected as did another family in the same small room who waited even longer than we did.The food was nothing special but certainly edible.We eventually gave up on desserts and coffee and went elsewhere to finish our meal.

We booked from recommendations from our hotel and we're sorely disappointed, we gave every opportunity for both staff and manager to put things right. We just paid the bill and left.The drinks and food we ordered were advertised as being available, but, were not, even after two people took the order, noone seemed to know what was available and what was not, until it was too late.We were show to our table and left hanging. When no one came, I saw several other folks wandering up to the bar to order. On returning to my table, someone was taking orders from tables either side of us.In these unpresidented times it is so important to minimise movement in social settings.When I visited the loo, no toilet paper, dispenser broken, paper all over the floor last checked at 18.00, now 21.00.There is a real need for a good Duty if Care and Best Practice to meet and exceed customers expectations and to keep us all safe.

We stayed as a family of 3 for 2 nights in August. The hotel is directly opposite the beach which is big and clean with nice sand. We had a room overlooking the beach but it was so hot. The window only opened a little and although we had a fan, it was uncomfortable to sleep. We had a disabled bathroom that got so hot, and the water pressure was difficult to sort, the water turned to scalding quite quickly. We didn’t have breakfast but we ate and drank in the outside area each night which was lovely and nice to be able to sit outside as a family. The food was v good, and though there were a couple of issues with service, the staff were great. I have already recommended this hotel to others and wouldn’t hesitate to return next year.

Four of us visited on a Friday evening. The service, food, and environment were exceptional. Steaks cooked to perfection, all our servers were chatty and polite, and there was a professionalism toward Covid safety. A really positive experience we will look forward to repeating.

We popped in here a few times for drinks in the early evening. We were welcomed with a small child, some places we have found won't have children after 19.30 but this place was happy to have families. The food is simple but tasty, reasonably priced.

Myself, my partner and our toddler visited ryde castle for dinner. Service was fab. our waitress was "emma" and she was amazingly helpful and friendly! Nothing was too much trouble for her and she is a great asset to your resturant. She was patient with both us and our toddler.Food was delicious and portion sizes were great!100% recommend and will definitely be returning

Visited first time evening. Placed in restaurant unexpectedly, all food choices good, especially crispy chicken and sausages, drinks great but moreover the service was excellent, attentive, waiter Ben extremely personal and kind. Will 100% return based on that alone.

The service and environment is what you expect from a Greene King pub. Friendly and Covid secure, which is unlike many pubs and restaurants that we have visited around the Island.Food is good value, decent size portions and sitting out the front was very pleasant in the sun.

Stumbled upon here after the previous pub we had tried was rude and pompous. Wow what’s hidden gem , food amazing and Benjamin that serves us was amazing 😉, friendly , polite and nothing was to much trouble. Thank you

We were staying in the hotel and ate here because it was easy and we had our kids with us. The menu was a bit 'chainy' and unimaginative but we enjoyed our two steaks and the kids food was ok. My littlest child had 'vegan' ice cream for pudding (he has an allergy to milk) and was convinced that it was dairy ice cream and that it made him feel sick - we'll never know if it was dairy or not but it wasn't a great end to the evening. Other than that I'd say it was a typical British chain experience, not amazing, not awful, just 'ok'.

We have just come back from, what was meant to be a nice, quiet meal for me and my partner and it was anything but. Firstly, we were seated at a table across from the toilets, not a good start. The table of five behind us were so loud that we couldn't hear ourselves think and they complained non stop all the time we were there. We ordered food and drinks and the drinks arrived in plastic glasses!! My gin was in one plastic glass and my tonic in another one. I could understand it if we were sat outside but we were inside having a meal!! What really annoyed me is that other people sat inside and not having food were given proper glasses. When the food arrived, it was nice (the only reason for the 1 star) and we ordered 2 more drinks. They never arrived!! When the young girl came over, she asked if the food was okay. I told her it was but that we'd never got our drinks. She asked what we'd ordered and was ready to take the order again. I said 'don't bother' and asked for the bill. Even that took ages coming. When we left, we went into the beer garden and saw 3 young blokes order drinks with the young girl and, within a minute, they had their drinks!! Needless to say, the night was a complete disaster and we won't be returning. We live on the island and this WAS our local, WAS being the operative word, never again.

We waited over an hour for a fish and a burger. Service was terrible. Would not recommend people to eat here

Quick bite to eat about 2pm, good social distancing being observed; garden is excellent and really well spaced out which is nice. Table service, which is a surprising and welcome change in these times, staff were very busy but once attracted over they were very friendly and attentive. Beer was very chilled; lovely!! Had to try a second just to check the consistency!! Good relaxed atmosphere, will revisit here to check out the dinner menu in the future. Oh, and dog friendly too; they even brought out a water bowl for my friends terrier unasked, which was a nice touch!! Looks to be busy in waves so may want to enquire about booking when they’re busy but we turned up without a reservation and had no problem getting in. Would recommend!

Whilst staying overnight I decided to return to Ryde Castle for a meal as the food and in particular the service was really good. Also I thought in the current circumstances it would be a safe place to eat.So I was taken to my table in a corner with two other well distanced tables. My order was taken promptly but throughout the whole meal the staff were not very attentive. You either had to wave to get someone's attention, which meant popping up like a meerkat or go into the bar area, which had a lot of people (customers) milling around both the bar. Those seated on the opposite table to me also commented on how poor the service. It was felt like that because we were off to one side we had been forgotten about, as most of the waiting staff were either milling by the door to the patio or outside dealing with customers there. Part way through my meal another customer came into our area and started to have a conversation via loud speaker on his phone with his girlfriend. He seemed to have no concern about the current COVID situation, social distancing or that he was making he guests in this small area very uncomfortable. Honestly quite rude and went unchallenged by the staff who clearly saw him when they deem to pass by en-route somewhere else. Thankfully the customer on the table opposite challenged the intruder and asked him politely to leave. All in all not a pleasant experience and goes against Green King's advertising on their website about providing a safe environment for customers.Interesting is that I have been in another Green King restaurant on the Island and they seem to be taking keeping their customers safe more seriously and after this experience I will not be returning to Ryde Castle nor will I be recommending it. Honestly I feel it would be much safer to sit out on the Esplanade with a takeaway and this will tell you that this meal was not a pleasant experience

Was welcomed into the hotel by a member of staff wearing the appropriate PPE. The receptionist (Simone) was very welcoming and talkative, recommended some good food! We was also served by a lovely young lady (Shannon) she was very polite and made sure we had everything we needed and went out of her way to ensure we had a lovely meal! Will definitely be returning soon, keep up the good work!

Now admittedly it was a very hot day when we arrived shortly before 5pm on a Tuesday during our holiday. Social distancing measures at the entrance were correctly in place and we were greeted by a staff member in proper protective mask and plastic splatter guard, asked to sanitise our hands and shown through to the garden seating area. We were told table service was for drinks and food but after 15 minutes wait nobody had come for our order so my partner put on his mask and went inside to order at the bar and returned with the drinks. At 5pm we beckoned a waitress for a food menu. At this point we became aware that three of the waiting staff serving drinks and food to guests in the garden were wearing their splatter guards on their head ... and nobody seemed to think it strange! Makes a mockery of precautions put in place by the authorities to protect people. Thank heavens our waitress wore hers.

We ate here last weekend, I had a lasagne. Good location, food was average but the staff were really nice and welcoming. Our waitress (Amilie?) went out of her way to make it a pleasant experience. The bar staff seemed friendly enough too.

Had eaten in the garden here on the 10/8/20 with a loved one had great customer service part from had no cutlery or napkin with my main course like my other half did and had to wait till one of the servers had to become available although wasn't busy at the time was just hot. Had taken a while for a server to come over and had to go looking for one to pay the bill. Other then that was ok.

The service was quick, the staff are friendly. Its nice to see people enjoying themselves at work. The food was lovely, had a three course meal and love the mini dessert and coffee combo, fabulous idea. The kids menu is good too. Would recommend.

Ate there today and had a great experience. We have been disappointed on many occasions and it is really nice to see that the management have finally got what seems like a good team together. We were greeted at the door and asked to sanitize our hands, no problem at all. We were shown to our table (outside as it was a beautiful day), were given a disposable menu and told that it would be full table service.We were waited on by a really switched on waitress called Jess, who was very attentive, got our drinks promptly, gave us time to look at the menu and was always there when we needed anything in spite of it being quite busy.I am glad to say that we will definitely be back and look forward to equally good hospitality in the future.

We had a delicious meal at the Ryde Castle Hotel. My prawn cocktail had lots of plump prawns and the sirloin steak was really succulent. The menu has a good selection and the portion size was just right. We found the staff to be very attentive and welcoming. Also, the surroundings were beautiful. After all, who wouldn’t enjoy eating in a castle?

We had a great stay at this Hotel, it’s very well organised for Covid-19, all staff wear face coverings and the one way system works really well. My wife and I were given a fab room overlooking Ryde Beach with views to Portsmouth. The Room was immaculate and well decorated with everything you need for a short stay. We ate lunch Dinner and Breakfast, they have either the Greene King App which is easy to use, table service or they have a screened off bar area to place your orders, food and drinks were quick and food was lovely the mussels starter and Halomi Fries were my favourite, my wife had the fillet of steak for dinner and it was cooked to her liking and all the food came out hot and presented well, all the staff were really hard working, One of the team Amy was particularly helpful and friendly and you have to feel for all of the staff wearing face coverings for entire shifts, tough going especially on a hot summers day, so all very good and we would definitely go back

Visited Ryde castle for date night. 4 adults. Was advised about new safety measures which was easily understood. Shown to our table and was asked if we would like table service or app, then was provided with menu. Our waitress was Jess who was very polite and friendly. Enough time was given to place order and we didn't feel rushed. Food was very well presented and as always delicious. We each had something new off the menu and was not disappointed. Jess came over a number of times to ensure we were happy but was never intrusive.Covid safety measures are in place but this did not hinder our evening and the restaurant still had a walm vibe. Well done team Ryde Castle

Came for lunch today with my friend, have to say service was very quick and efficient. The food was very tasty and well present. Will definitely be back soon.

Everything was explained to about trace and test and the new rules in place and the app. Was so comfortable going back into a pub after everything with covid. Felt really safe, also there was a lady going around cleaning everything believe her name was Emma. Tim and Ben that served our food and pudding was professionally and friendly.

Just returned from my third stay at this lovely hotel. The staff are great, really friendly and can't do enough for you, whether serving on reception, in the restaurant or behind the bar. The rooms are comfortable and are well equipped with kettle, teas, fruit teas, coffee and biscuits, tucked away in the wardrobe are ironing board, iron and hair dryer. The food at the hotel is delicious, I can recommend the fillet steak - Wednesday night is steak night and you can upgrade to a fillet steak for an amazingly low price. I can also recommend their amazing selection of pies. Breakfast has a wide selection of hot and cold choices, my only criticism here is that it would be nice to have filter coffee freely available rather than just instant, however, if you request it, they are happy to oblige. The hotel is in a great location offering interesting views across the solent with its wide variety of shipping traffic, walking distance to the Ryde shops - great selection of independent retailers - and easy access to the beach. I would recommend this hotel for couples, families and groups.

Stayed here whilst on a business trip for one night.Plenty of parking when i arrived and the front of the hotel looks really nice (although the weather wasn't great at the time). Staff are friendly and helpful.The room was very nicely presented, not big but functional, there was a desk area so I could work. The bed seemed very soft but was comfortable (and i suffer from back pain), pillows were good. Bathroom, nice clean and well maintained.Didn't eat in the restaurant as locals had said there are mixed reviews about the food, so I decided on a trip into town.Breakfast in the morning was ok, wasn't too impressed with having instant coffee, but.... The juice was nice and the continental breakfast was good. I opted for an omelette, it was really nice but a little big for breaky.Overall a good stay, I would stay again.

The place looks amazing, was really looking forward to our meal but then it arrived. Microwave is all i can say

Myself and hubby stayed 2 nights at this lovely hotel . Unfortunately our stay coincided with storm Ciara ! This wasn't a huge problem for us as the hotel could not have been more helpful . We had a lovely room (seaview) and the bonus of having a bath . ( very much needed after we got absolutely soaked ) The food and drinks were both very nice. Plenty of parking, lovely breakfast ,excellent location and we would love to go back ~perhaps during the summer next time !

We had a lovely meal as usual. Staff as cheerful and helpful as ever.food is always well presented and there is always a good choice. This time we had fish and scampi, oh it was really lovely. See you next week. X

8 of us mixed ages all met up for dinner at 6:30pm. Excellent service, hot yummy food. We had 2 courses from the main menu and it was steak night so always a benefit. Kids all happy. Good wine! Highly recommend

We came for a breakaway. Arrived on Thursday and found the staff welcoming and friendly..Place is spotless .Our room was perfect the bed is massive ..Food was very good too ..we have just enjoyed our stay very much we will revisit..Unfortunately we have to cut our trip short but that's just because of bad weather and we didn't want to get stranded but again staff were helpful with this and I'll definitely recommend this hotel to friends and family ...

Cannot praise staff enough food was beautiful pudding was a tiny bit longer than expected and the manager came over and apologised and insisted we had it on the house! What a diamond! Lovely place! Highly recommend!

Went for a lovely meal to celebrate our son's 30th birthday yesterday and we were so impressed by how well we were looked after. Having said in the booking it was for a family birthday the table was set out for this with tablecloth and birthday confetti which made it special. The service was efficient and we were able to relax and enjoy, the food was excellent and good value. We will definitely be returning and I have recommended to others already. Thank you to everyone at Ryde castle.

Well what can I say....We were given our room .....6 ....with a sea view, wet room and a lift to our floor and down to reception and below to breakfast room. The room is large and bed very comfortable, the best hotel we have stayed in for years. I am unable to climb stairs or use a shower in a bath, I was so pleased to be offered a wet room. There are lots of choices for breakfast and it was on the whole hot/warm. We also ate in the bar one night and the food was really good. I would have no hesitation coming back again..... very good ..... the staff were friendly and professional as well. Thank you

Myself and friends have come here twice now. I decided to get the beef and ale pie and wow, it was truly amazing, so amazing I came back for it a second time. The mash could be a bit fluffier as not amazing but good, the only thing that did annoy me was on both occasions I’ve asked for no peas, and both times I’ve received them, the servers both times said not a problem, it’s slightly annoying and a waste of your food! The only issue we had was on the 9th Jan, the food was amazing but the waitress was very rude and didn’t seem to want to be there... She had blonde/brown hair and wore a black blouse with a flower pattern on her sleeve, didn’t ask if we wanted sauces, just plonked my meal down and then walked off, this was extremely rude and did partially ruin my visit... Other than her, it’s been lovely

My partner booked this hotel for my birthday. The staff were warm and friendly. The room was amazing. It was bright and beautifully designed. The breakfast was lovely. The staff at breakfast was very friendly and very helpful. Absolutely no complaints at all

Wonderful, communicative and super-efficient customer service. We went for a family lunch to Ryde Castle Hotel on New Year’s Day, after they had just come to the end of a very busy Christmas season. While the food was excellent, with generous portions and delicious Vegan options; our waiter was straight but sensitive in letting us know right from the start that some items on the menu were awaiting delivery. He continued to be attentive, highly professional, courteous and to look like he was dedicated to his job throughout our time there. The same went for our other waiters, some very young; and of course the head waiter. Very happy with such a caring team. Highly recommend x

We've just spent Christmas here and can't praise it highly enough. Every member of staff, from the managers to receptionists and bar staff were amazing and nothing was too much trouble. Special mention should be given to Aimee, Shannon, Jordan and Benjamin as they're who we had most contact with. All the food we had to eat over our stay was fabulous, so many thanks and congrats to everyone in the kitchen for that. Wouldn't hesitate to return or recommend spending Christmas here. Happy New Year to all of you
