Service was amazing , the home made crisps where out of this world. Richard is the best pub runner Ive ever met , he was very accommodating and made us feel welcome from the start.

We booked for 4 people and 2 pooches. The staff were very friendly, one particular waitress was so nice that she brought a plate of treats out for the dogs and counted them to make sure they both had equal amounts! The Sunday roast was divine. Will definitely be coming back here again!

What truly kind people, I tumbled in, after breaking down on the downs, in the pitch black, they rang around many taxi's until they could find one to come and rescue me, and return to rescue my hubby from a freezing car. It was late, and we had already eaten. But I will be returning, and soon, to sample their menu at great length. Such kindness from strangers, who will soon become friends.

Lovely buzzy atmosphere without being too noisy. Delicious Small Sunday roast with individual pots of fresh veg & a bowl of Cauli cheese to share + 3 drinks (shared) £60 for the 3of us. Definitely worth booking.

Just happened to be in the area and looking for somewhere to pass an hour for a pint and food and without a booking the lovely staff got us a table and took great care of us, the crab sandwich was delicious and Mama Foxe's homemade pie brilliant, highly recommend this place but booking adviserble.

The homemade Cottage pie is defo the best on the island. Proper good, freshly cooked food, lovely friendly staff. Unable to find even the smallest of faults. If your looking for home cooked food, this is the place.

Dog friendly 🐶, quiet pub, food is exceptional and Sarah gave us a warm welcome. A very special place.

This is one of my favourite eating places. I took my grandson and his friend, who had celebrated his 18th birthday the previous day. The greeting was rather lukewarm, which is unusual. The waitress asked for proof of id which the birthday boy produced. My grandson will be 18 in 6 weeks time. By law he is able to have cider with his meal in the company of 3 adults but he was refused. Menus were rather dumped on the table, likewise cutlery for dessert. The food was very good. The atmosphere just wasn’t friendly despite telling the waitress we were celebrating a special birthday. Both young men are unused to eating out other than in fast food chains and I wanted them to have a good experience. Such a shame this wasn’t the case.

Nice staff and decent ish decor. But unfortunately the price point is far too high for what you get. My younger brother had a kid's burger meal, didn't come with any chips, just a small salad garnish. He politely asked for a slice of cheese in the burger which incurred a stingy £0.75p surcharge. Pretty mediocre, small portions, and too expensive. Disappointed

3rd time we’ve been here and it’s been great every time .. last week I had steak and Stilton pie and we also had prawn and crab mornay and sea bass .. I couldn’t have asked for a better meal … I love this place .. it’s a few pounds more than a pub but the food is next level … waitress was welcoming.. everything was clean .. comfy chairs … thank you yarbridge people we enjoyed our visit

Incredible food as always , my husband had the mixed grill , wow 🤩 best he’s ever had , great produce and cooked to perfection, I had the pork fillet in tomato and mushroom sauce , just beautiful and our friends loved there food to , lovely inviting pub with friendly owners and great atmosphere, we love this place , can’t recommend enough !!

Amazing food with generous portions served by a fantastic family and their team. Well worth a visit but don't rush, you won't be able to move fast after one of their meals. Great place to take family and friends.

We visited here for the first time on my birthday for dinner and we all throughly enjoyed it. It was hard to choose what to have from the menu as it all sounded so good, but I opted for the sweet potato and spinach lasagne. It was great they allowed us to change the garlic bread for potatoes and I was very impressed with the salted caramel cheesecake. The service was brilliant and we all enjoyed the experience so much we said it was one of the best meals we’d ever had and have booked to come again between Christmas and New Year, so I am looking forward to trying something else from the menu.

Another exceptional experience. Fantastic, cosy setting. A Warm environment because of the staff and attention to detail. Outstanding menu and even more Outstanding food. A rare chance to take my parents out for lunch. The yarbridge doesn't provide just food. They provide the comfort of a family place to catch up and relax. And the food is a bonus. So fresh and clearly prepared with love and care. We almost forgot that we were there to eat. Well done Fox team. X

A pleasant ambience but disappointed with the £24 duck breast I ordered. I asked for it to be rare and pink in the centre, but was told it couldn't be served like that and had to be cooked for at least 20 mins. I still ordered it and what arrived on my plate was a brown, thinly sliced breast swimming in an overly sweet orange sauce. Our dining experiences grow more expensive than ever and our culinary choices grow less.

One of my favourite places to eat, but was very disappointed today with my meal. My first choice they did not have, should have been told when the menu was brought out. So I had the turkey roast. The turkey was cheap . I think it was turkey roll. The Yorkshire pudding and roast potatoes were burnt. I am not a person to complain but I was very disappointed and the money that I have to pay for this awful food. It will be a long time before I go again. It really ruined my day

Very nice meal, very good table service, some of the dishes were on the expensive side, but you get what you pay for. All in all I would recommend.

Lovely and cosy food absolutely fantastic

We visited here for my husband’s birthday yesterday. The staff were really friendly and accommodating. They sat us next to the cosy fire which was really nice in this weather. The food was so delicious. My husband had the mega mixed grill and he really enjoyed it and I had the duck in honey and orange sauce and it was lovely. Will definitely be eating here again. 10 out of the 10!

Only stopped in for a coffee but was made to feel very welcome by the staff and the log burner. Have to say it was one of the best coffees I've had on the island! Will return in the summer to enjoy the ample outside seating.

Outstanding food and hospitality as always. Highly recommended. We always come here when visiting the Island. The staff were brilliant with our two pugs.

We have driven past this pub many times without even noticing it but glad we finally did. Very friendly staff and great food. A nice atmosphere and we could not recommend it more highly. We will certainly come back again next time we are visiting.

It is a great venue, had the chicken supreme with port and Stilton sauce, it was amazing.The staff were very friendly and helpful, will definitely revisit soon 👍

Was an amazing meal had me and my partner had the mega mixed grill and it was definitely that , would say was half a farm on a plate , bloody delicious and hats of to the chef each meat was cooked to perfection. Well worth the money and highly recommend will definitely be going back

Recently visited with my family for a special anniversary celebration . The menu offered a good choice of dishes and although busy we were given very good service. The food was delicious and was enjoyed by the whole family. A very memorable evening so thank you to all at The Yarbridge

Not been here for years. Our boys used to love the model train that ran around the wall. Will definitely go back again.

We didn't stay to eat as seating wasn't suitable for disabled guests and our dogs were too big to fit in the allotted space. Not the Inn's fault- just very unfortunate circumstances.

Sunday Lunch at the Yarbridge is not to be missed. According to my Husband it is the only place we've been to on the Island that can cook a roast like he gets at home. Understandably you have to book. Food and service both superb. Cant wait to come back. The sticky toffee pudding was out of this world.

Staff more than happy to work with us, as we have so many unique allergies, even prepared to do a meal we could make up, that was not on the menu. Will certainly eat there again next time we are on the island.

I rarely leave reviews for food venues as in my opinion there are so many that are just average and would be a waste of my time, However here I am leaving a review so that in itself speaks volumes as there must be something worth writing about! Firstly we hadn’t booked but the friendly staff found us a table, The menu was extensive with plenty of choice, the two main courses “liver with mash and steak etc” was fantastic and served quickly given the restaurant was full with a vibrant atmosphere. Portion sizes were more than adequate, sadly I enjoyed my main so much it left no room for pudding. But if the main was anything to go by the sticky toffee would be Devine! It’s not often after eating a mean and being full do I sit and wonder what the food coming out the kitchen tastes like. The wine list was good we opted for the Côtes du Rhône stunning bottle of wine. I cannot fault this pub and the staff were amazing! This little pub is a diamond in a box of gems and I will certainly be returning and anyone who chooses to drive past and not pop in would be foolish! Thank you to the foxy team for a wonderful visit! See you all again soon!

Really enjoyed our meal. Service was wonderful, nice and prompt without being overbearing. Food was great, lots of options (including vegetarian) and good portion sizes. Lovely spot and would more than happily go back when we're on the Isle of Wight.

Very good food and generous portions. Hands down the best pie (steak and stilton) I have had in my 9 years in the UK. Will definitely visit again if I am back in IoW. Great service and nice staff, we didn't have a reservation and were offered to seat outside but we were also offered a table inside 10 minutes later as they rearranged the space.

Had a lovely dinner last Saturday evening our first day of our holiday. We have eaten here before & wanted to go back. Food & service was excellent. I can recommend the cottage pie & my husband had Lasagne. Hubby had cheesecake for his pudding & I was good & just had a cappuccino which was really nice. Highly recommend & the decor is good & when the weather is behaving sitting outside looked very pleasant.

We dined on recommendation as a family of 5 (2x adults, 3 children). We were greeted by a smiley and pleasant waitress and our order taken by a very accommodation waiter. The menu suited all diners, including a plant based diet. The children’s menu was adapted (to not include tomato in the Mac and cheese). The children’s Mac and cheese was liked but I was surprised by the side salad that had dressing and onions. (It looked very appealing, but I want sure on how many children would have considered eating the dressing and onion). The children’s meals were £9.50 and would have benefited in appeal by including a drink. Portions could be considered quite small too, although plenty for our children of: 12,9 and 4. The plant based diner opted for a three bean chilli and was satisfied but felt it wasn’t particularly flavoursome. The local sausage and mash with vegetables, was delicious and the child who ate the chicken goujons very happy. Drinks wise, we were asked if we would like water straight away, which was great and the lime and soda “delicious” according to the chicken. The ale ‘yaughtsman’ very much enjoyed. The toilets and decor very pleasant and inviting. Would recommend - would be nice to come and use the very lovely garden area of the weather was better.

What a wonderful, charming experience from start to finish. We were seated almost immediately and extremely polite staff were a welcome addition. But the best part? Something I haven't seen in all the restaurants I've been to? A button on every table to call for the staff when you're either ready to order or pay. Such a welcome addition, that is so simplistic and allows you to dine at your own pace. Food was exceptional and very generous portions. Would highly recommend.

My husband and I have eaten here a few times and have never been disappointed. We decided to celebrate his birthday here, with another couple, and I booked us a table a few weeks in advance. We arrived dead on 07.30 pm, and were pleased to see that the pub was buzzing. Unfortunately, we were advised that I'd actually booked for 07.00 pm and that, as they hadn't been able to contact me by 'phone, they'd given our table away! However, all was not lost, as Becky Fox (one of the pub owners), full of apologies, said she'd have a table ready for us by 08.00 pm. We ordered drinks at the bar, expecting a 30 minute wait, when she said that actually, there was a table available straight away. We all ordered the same I.e. Mama Fox's steak and stilton pies (marvellous homemade pastry with lots of delicious filling). Before our food arrived, Becky offered us yet another, bigger, table, which we moved over to. Another waitress served us and enquired as to which of us was the birthday celebrant, which was appreciated. We were too full up with pie (!) to order desserts, but were still enjoying more drinks. Unexpectedly, the lights were dimmed, and a small bowl of vanilla ice cream and blackberries, with a lighted candle, was brought out, to a rousing chorus of 'Happy Birthday'. Our only niggle was that one of the 4 portions of pie was significantly smaller than the other 3 portions (which were very generous). This was politely pointed out to the waitress, who said that she'd mention it to the chef. However, no more pie was forthcoming. That did not put a damper on our overall enjoyment of the evening. We shall be back!

First time we've visited and gotta say it was refreshing to have such a good meal at a great price, the cheesecake was up there with my all time favourites and had a lovely thick base, beautiful. The rest of our meal was so fresh and cooked to perfection you will definitely be seeing us again

Good menu and good Separate Gluten Free menu. Wife had homemade steak and Stilton pie which she enjoyed. Came with plenty of well cooked fresh veg and new potatoes and a jug of gravy. I had a rump steak from the GF menu. The steak was well cooked and came with chips, peas, mushrooms and tomato. I opted for the blue cheese sauce to accompany my steak. For pudding we shared a mixed fruit pavlova which was very nice. My only slight criticism (and I’m being picky) was that the sauce could have had more Stilton in it as it was barely discernible!

We were looking for a nice evening out that had a good menu that was a little out of the ordinary. The menu certainly did not disappoint us. Treated my hubby to the mega mixed grill, everything was cooked as he liked it while I had fish off the specials board. Lovely puddings too. The staff were amazing, attentive but not in your face. Lovely family business.

Beautiful pub. Our 2 year old played with a huge connect 4 game outside while we ordered our food. Fantastic food. Friendly atmosphere and staff. Would love to visit again (if we didn't live 4 hours away!)!

Beautiful decorated, fast and hard working staff. A big shout out to the young Polish gentleman who is one of the Waiters. I’m sorry I didn’t catch his name, but he is a real credit to your business. He goes above and beyond for all customers, and is very polite and professional. The Food is the best on the Island I would say. We are now regulars🙂 thank you for always making our dining pleasant. I must say, it’s nice to be offered fresh iced water for the table too, as nowhere else does this.

Absolutely shocking experience today, we didn't book a table but didn't mind sitting outside. Everything was going well, ordered our food and they even brought out some treats for our dog. Our drinks were brought out quite swiftly, but from there it went down hill. We wait, and wait and some more waiting, we thought as it was busy the food was taking a little bit longer. 45 mins went by I clicked the buzzer and someone came out to us, I asked how long our food was going to take to which they asked who we placed the order with, ironically it was the same lady!! She had forgotten she took our order and gave our dog some biscuits and she didn't put it through. We were annoyed but decided to wait for our food. The crunch came when a family that arrived 30 mins after we did who was sitting outside was then offered a table inside. The temperature outside was cold and they knew how long we had been waiting !! I don't know whether it was a race thing as I am a black woman or just blatant ignorance of the management. Fuming is an understatement I cancelled the food order. If we ever visit IOW again I will be giving this place a wide berth and will not be recommending this to any family or friends.

We had a fabulous meal here, the staff were friendly and welcoming to us and our small dog. Cannot fault at all. Having the choice of smaller size dishes (still good size) is brilliant and avoids food waste. Our food was superb. Would highly recommend and will visit again 👍

We had a great time , but our food lacked a bit of flavour. I had 3 bean chilli, which is usually full of beans and chilli, but mine lacked both of these.. I saw more celery and carrots than beans and couldn't taste any chilli. It was more of a broth. It was tasty,but not a hearty bean chilli. The service was however fabulous and my pudding delicious! Others enjoyed their meal, so maybe having the last portion of chilli available meant it wasn't up to the usual standard.

Great staff who were very obliging seating us condidering we had arrived much later than we'd booked! Lovely meal. Thank you

One of the best lasagnas I have ever eaten, yum! I also like that you can choose from a small or regular size. The small one with salad and garlic bread was plenty for me! Half of the restaurant is dog-friendly too and they offered a bowl of treats for Bug 🤗👌

You'd think this was just a normal little family pub. But you'd be wrong. The food is superb and the service amazing and the prices really cheap given how well made the food was. Our waitress Hannah was lovely. When we arrived it was quite early and we had a lovely chat with her. Turns out after 14 years working in the hospitality industry she's moving on to an office job. Best of luck in your new job, I suspect you will be just as good in your new job as you are in your current hospitality job!!

Went for lunch today with our children and sat in the garden. What a pretty place to sit and eat. The service was fantastic, the food was amazing and atmosphere there was delightful. The garden looked so lovely and so clean. We had a lovely time and will be returning soon. Thank you 😊

The best place in the Isle of Wight food is excellent and the pie I had which was the mama's pie out of this world can't wait to go back would off stayed longer tonight only my wife had a tooth ache it was our anniversary tonight such a shame next time. I will be back can't wait

We booked to go here with my brother, who was visiting from Australia, actually , this was his suggestion, also my wife & my Mum were with me too. It was an evening visit, 18:00/18:30. We were greeted & seated, drink orders were taken & then food orders. Then we waited, and waited, others got their food, others who arrived after us received their food, but still nothing for us, we waited some more, I went for a vape outside & said to my dining companions if the food wasn’t there when I came back in I was going to ask what the hold up was, bear in mind almost an hour had gone by now. So, vape done I came back in, and still no food, I went up to the bar & spoke to the staff, i explained that others who arrived after us had not only ordered, but had finished their meals & we were still waiting, they apologised & said it would be with us very soon. As I walked back to the table the food arrived, as did the waitress who offered us a round of drinks on the house, we said thank you & happily accepted, they apologised again. The rather long wait aside, the food was absolutely delicious and dare I say it, worth the wait, my wife & I both said they were the best burgers we’d had in a very long time, my wife wants to go back for another one, my wife & brother both really enjoyed their food too. We paid the bill & left. Will we go back? Absolutely, the burgers really were very good indeed, and the staff are always so friendly and polite, they’re a credit to the restaurant.

Holy moly! Where to start? My friends and I had a fantastic meal here. I had sea bass, which I'd never eaten before, and it was fantastic, truly delicious. The fish was accompanied by a dish of fresh vegetables and I was able to substitute some of my new potatoes for chips. For dessert, I had cheesecake and it was magnificent. I don't drink but my friend had a pint of Pedigree and said it was great.

Had a lovely meal for our Anniversary last night, excellent food, service with a smile, had a large Apple cream Profiterole it was gorgeous totally recommend.

I have tried and tried all week to book a table phone keeps ringing and ringing they must lose a hell of a lot of custom if they don't answer the phone why don't they answer the phone??? I'm won't be going there I'm going som
