Kimbo's in Isle of Wight

Very tasty and great portions. Dealt with allergies with no problems. We have used this Chinese on a previous occasions but had forgotten how good the food was. We won't forget again and will definitely be back.

Lady at the counter does not know how to do the job. Waiting an hour for a collection and had people coming in to order and getting their meal first. Will not be back.

Been here before when on holiday, food was very nice, good size portions and we all enjoyed it. Love the seaweed as well, crispy beef, ribs and sweet n sour chicken with rice. Only reason 4 stars instead of 5 was the hour wait, but it was worth the wait.

Despite the order coming to £28, complementary prawn crackers were not an option. There were only 5 King Pranws in the chow mein, and the food was very average for the price. The whole experience smacked of a business driven by greed and complacency, instead of quality and customer service. They may have been good one, but their judgement has been clouded by avarice. We won't be using them again, ever.

Not happy ordered duck in black bean sauce with peppers & chips onions and peppers raw chips fine duck swimming in oil had similar dish locality for 40 years and never a problem from other restaurants ruined my meal pic had a few miss haps over the summer with food quality but put down to one off but my business with Kimbos has come to its end if you think that it acceptable from pics I’d like to here your views

Well walked in and greeted by a lovely pleasant and smiling young lady, as never been before and had no previous view of the menu, she helped me with the order and l was tempted by the NEW HAWAIIAN CHICKEN...... IT WAS AMAZING. I truly recommend this place to anyone. The portion sizes are good, the taste of the food is great and for what you get is great value. We even have enough left over for lunch tomorrow. Kimbolton keep doing what you are doing and we'll be back. I will only go to 5 star rated premises for food hygiene too.

The 4 dishes we ordered were nice and not greasy but could benefit from some more flavour. I would have preferred the sweet and sour chicken to be cooked together and not added together in the container as much of the chicken was not covered and was just fried chicken. There were plenty of noodles in our dishes but the meat content was lacking, so a little disappointing.

My first time at Kimbo's and I was impressed with the cleanliness of the environment, the friendly service and the excellent food. The chicken was tender and the food was delicious. I definataly will be going back again!

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Owner took the time to have a chat with us. Chinese was delicious. My particular favorite was the Chicken Satay which is the best I've ever had. Will definitely come again.

Food was ok (just ok) but prices are ridiculous. Nearly £10 for 3 small pots of curry sauce. Cheapest supermarket chips £3.20. We paid £30 for two of us when the same order is less than £15 back home. Avoid.

Went here last time on holiday, and enjoyed it, so thought we’d give it a go again. Pleased to say still great tasty food, had ribs, chips, chicken balls, sea weed, crispy beef and sweet n sour chicken. Good helpings and very tasty.

Just had a first class takeaway for a birthday treat. Not had Kimbos for several years but must say was very impressed. The guy that took the phone order was very polite, helpful and courteous and the food was tasty and delicious, thank you!!

I have just had the worst Chinese meal. It was absolutely over cooked and had to spit out the chicken as it was like chewing old rope. I had to take it back, only for the cook to tell me that hat's how they cook it. Food terrible Service terrible General attitude really terrible. Feel completely ripped off!

My wife and I were staying nearby to KIMBO's and phoned through an order for two meals and soup. It was ready moments after we arrived to collect it and was as good as any we have ever had, and better than many. Well done and thank you to the delightful lady who served us and her chef.

Can't lie I was worried about trying somewhere different as we usually use our Chinese over the road as we know we like it and we're used to it. However we went out of our comfort zone as ours is closed till January and we'll it was absolutely amazing I literally can't fault you one bit. Looked at a few options for a chinese takeaway & chose kimbo. Ordered in the takeaway & the service was very quick (around 5 mins wait) and I was also impressed by the assistant who had a customer say he had a mushroom allergy & he went to the kitchen and expressed this to the chef twice to ensure no confusion. The food was very good & we were impressed in particular with the satay skewers & the owner was a lovely lady.

Great food and very short wait. King Prawn Curry, Crispy Beef, Sweet n Sour Prawn, egg fried rice. Recommend for sure, great takeaway whilst on holiday.

Impressed with our food. Ordering was easy, only waited a few minutes when collecting. Staff we spoke to on the phone and at the shop were friendly and efficient. Will definitely use again next time we're on the Island!

We use this Chinese takeaway every Friday and have done for a long time. Absolutely amazing food and fantastic phone service. Ready when they say it will be and never get our order wrong.

The Egg fried rice had a mix of things in it. Can’t be sure exactly what as this wasn’t stated on menu which could have been very dangerous if someone has an allergy. Be aware of this. See photo...looks like quinoa. We ordered 3 portions...

I have been using this takeaway for over 20 years when it first opened in Lake. It is not just the best takeaway on the Island but having lived in the Nottingham area as well as the Island there is nothing even to rival it...

Seen as we kept driving past Kimbo’s on the way to other things on the island we decided to give it a try and I’m glad we did as it was easily our favourite Chinese takeaway. We ordered several types of food – prawns, beef curry, rice dishes, ribs, fritters and we all loved what we had ordered, plus the staff are lovely, friendly and you can really feel the passion they have for their food, they even asked about our spice preference and offered to change our meal to another variation to suit us. I will say though that they don’t do deliveries but are happy to take your order by phone so you don’t have to wait too long plus there is a car park round the back so it’s not too hard to get to when you want to pick up your food, which in my opinion is worth it.

This has to be the best Chinese Takeaway on the Isle of Wight!!! The food is amazing and the family who run the place are so helpful and helped us with our special dietary requirements!! This place is the best !!

Top quality food, generous portions, brilliant customer service and reasonable prices.This takeaway exceeded all our expectations. Large car park at the rear. They do not offer a delivery service. We won't go anywhere else for Chinese food. Banana or pineapple fritter 'a must' if can find the room for it.

My wife Wendy and I often opt for a Chinese Takeaway from Kimbos. Friendly staff, efficient service, good quality Chinese cuisine, and a reasonable price tick all of our boxes for a great Chinese takeaway. All dishes tried have been excellent, a particular favourite is their Special Curry or Chicken Curry with fried rice, accompanied by a lovely pancake roll. In many years of using Kimbos, quality has been consistently good, and a special mention to their invariably friendly and efficient staff.

Picked by pure chance i popped in and ordered a sweet and sour chicken dish with chips. Wonderful crispy chips and lots of them, chicken was cooked perfectly and again lovely crispy batter, dipped in the sweet gooey sauce was delicious. Staff were extremely friendly and gave me a free keyring too :)Well worth a visit - highly recommended!

Even though we are only visiting for a week my husband has insisted that he gets to visit for a second time during our stay as he enjoyed his meal so much. Each of the dishes chosen was delicious and the chef was happy to make any requested additions or changes.

I live locally and this is my favourite Chinese, they have a good selection but don't do delivery. Try their salt and chilli squid, it's the best

Family takeaway, placed order and collected as no delivery service. Food was trebbile, 6 different meals all horrible. Spoken to a friend and they said they had same experience.

We were due to have a family meal. We called the order in and hour before the pick up time. When we went for it the order was still not ready 35 minutes later there was no apologies or explanation, the service was bad and in the end we cancelled the order. This was not the first time we had used this takeaway but the first time the service and attitude was this shocking. Unfortunately with another Chinese a few yards away I don't think they can afford for this to happen. We won't be returning.

We regularly use this take away, the food is always excellent, although they can run late at busy times it is worth the wait.

We have been here several times over many years and the food is very good, staff are always very friendly when ordering and collecting. The only downside is that quite often the food takes longer than they say - but it is worth the wait.

Ordered a takeaway for 6 people. There is no delivery service but collection is very quick, (was ready 15 minutes after calling). The food was pretty good, nothing special, the price is OK. What was really poor was the extra sweet and sour sauce that I ordered. It was awful, like jelly, not sauce. Best avoided!
