Great service and environment - right across from the beach on a lively warm late summer evening - Food was also great value for money and good sized portions

Does this venue have new management? We attended yesterday and there was a board outside saying snacks 3 until 5. It was 4 minutes past 3. We were told no, they close at 330 and it was subject to weather. The sun was out and it was warm. We then asked for a milky coffee done in the microwave which we have always been served here for years very willingly. No and we close at 330. So we asked if we could sit outside with a coffee well yes but we close at 330. No sorry or anything. We’ve been going to this place for more years than I care to remember and have always had a warm welcome. What a shame. We went up the road to the Smoking Lobster and sat outside in the sun with a lovely coffee until 430 and they were very courteous. I’m really disappointed in the Ocean Blue.

Myself and friends visited on Wednesday 7/9/2021 and were made very welcome by the staff who all seemed to be very happy. I ordered fish and chips with mushy peas and had a latte while waiting for the food to be delivered. My friends ordered other things, on of them having a very nice crab baguette and none of us could fault the food or ambience. My fish was astounding and would have easily fed two but somehow I managed to eat it all by myself. It was a beautifully cooked golden brown sitting in a crispy batter and cooked to perfection. We stated sitting outside but had to move to an inside table as a very heavy rain storm arrived just before the food but it caused no trouble to us or the restaurant staff. If you are in Ventnor and feeling peckish you could do a lot worse that to visit this eatery. I will certainly be returning on my next visit to the island.

Pleasant place to sit for a snack or drink. Friendly service. Ideal for families with little ones, as close to a big paddling pool

Haven't had such a good quality fish and chips for a while. The cod was so fresh, the batter crispy and even the chips were excellent. The portion was huge too. Our lady friends couldn't finish them. Overall an unexpected surprise to find this restaurant.

Wanted sandwiches so went to this cafe. At present due to covid, you go in one door and out of the sea facing door. The queue was fine and order was taken at the bar quickly and efficiently. We sat on a freshly wiped down table and chairs and our food was brought to us by a nice young man waiter who was very polite and helpful and I bet a good member of staff. My cheese baquete was lovely and came with a nice salad and my husbands blt came with chips yum. We had a cold drink out of the fridge. Nice venue with a nice sea front view. Near to the public toilets but not too near but handy. Enjoyed.

We stumbled across this place after having our sights set at stopping at somewhere else. If the other place had actually serve fish and chips, our daughter request for today, we wouldn’t have even stopped here! The take away on the quay was closed however they advertised that their fish was served here. We managed to locate a table at 12:45 on a gloriously hot day and move it into the shade. There isn’t much shade here and none of the outside tables had parasols. There was different fish on the menu to choose from including other options too including burgers and lighter bites. We ordered a children’s cod and chips, with option of peas on the side, a battered Haven cod and chips and a pan fried cod (so suitable for my food allergies) and chips. With 2 bottle soft drinks as our daughters drink should have been included in the child’s price the meal cost us £38. We did think this was a little steep given the price we had paid for much larger pieces of fish just the other day else where, but the experience of being here with the paddling pool for our daughter to splash around in softened the dent in the wallet. The fish was fresh despite there not being much of it and the chips I have to say were chips. They’re not what I call chip shop chips, so weren’t as greasy as you’d expect (which I prefer) although certainly lacked taste. For the price we paid, would we go back? Probably not. Maybe we would try over the road which had opened by the time we left.

Stopped here at the end of a 10 mile walk along the coastal path. Needed a good piece of cake and boy did they deliver, the best lemon sponge ever.

Went here for a light lunch. We had my father in law with us who has mobility issues and uses a mobility scooter. The two guys working at the Ocean Blue could not do enough to help. Reorganised the tables so he could bring the scooter inside and provide table ordering so he did not need to get to the order point. Food was simple but good with fast service. We will return.

We decided to pop in here on our last day for breakfast as we'd been in the day before for a coffee.. We arrived not long after they opened and found ourselves a table. We ordered our food (english breaksfasts)and drinks and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The drinks arrived and shortly after the toast. The food arrived and it looked lovely and tasty just as it looked. I was however disappointed to find our table covered in sugar and bits of food on the floor. Which I wouldn't normally have minded but they'd literally only just opened so we were one of the first customers of the day. Ihad go clear the table off myself as by now the 2 members of staff were busy. Same really ad the food and staff were nice.

A nice little seafront café that serves reasonable food. We had breakfast here a couple of times and the food was simple, but very pleasant. Staff were friendly and helpful and the location is lovely.

On our visit we dropped in twice: once for coffee and later for an ice cream. Coffee was good, the weather was excellent so we were able to sit outside. There are a number of out door tables as well as the indoor ones. It is situated by the big car park so this first place to stop as a walk along the prom begins. Ice cream was good as well. Licenced, so it serves long cool beers on hot day and the food is the general cafe fayre but I can't comment on the quality - we ate elsewhere.

The best fish and chips I've eaten in years. You could taste the sea the fish was that good. I had a seafood restaurant on the isle of man and would highly recommend 😋 This was amazing.

First found this gem 3 years ago and made a point of going back whenever we are on the island which is about 6 times a year. Staff are fun yet professional and seating on a warm day is fab. Food is consistently top level and we always clear our plates. Seriously I think this is on par with the hut in Colwell bay but so much cheaper.

We were looking for a nice restaurant in Cowes for lunch on Saturday and found this one through TA. We had the most delicious meal served by the two sons (owners). They told us the restaurant has been in the family for over 30 years and you can tell this is an owner-run restaurant. They put such care into everything. Will definitely visit again.
