Ryde Pier Cafe in Isle of Wight

Stayed the night on the island & raced my bike half way around to catch the ferry back at Ryde. In a hurry and Hungry for breakfast & being gluten free I was not overly optimistic about food, there did not appear to be any outlets other than the pier cafe. How wrong I was. The Pier cafe " Yes we have gluten free bread" ' Yes we know what time the ferry is" Not only was my bacon & egg roll gluten free and the service quick. It was delicious ! If not for the others I would have got the next ferry and had another.

We took our daughter and grandson for an ice cream the girl who served us was rude and stroppy as she got the order wrong. Her false nails were so long I think it’s not hygienic to have them a lot of bacteria is collected under them shouldn’t be worn in a food establishment. I won’t be returning even though I live on the island

We wanted a quick breakfast before going on a field trip, and in Ryde, there were only a couple of places open early. This cafe was one of them, opening at 8 am. The menu is not vast, but it has everything you need. We were served quickly, and despite the warning that there is a wait - it was quick. Breakfast, the breakfast brioche, was great! If I have to come here again, because “real restaurants” don't have seats - I will be happy.

Had a hot dog and some ice creams from here when visiting Ryde with friends. It's such a perfect location to sit down and have a drink before you're back on the ferry. Staff are always very polite and friendly and the food is delicious1

Got ice creams from here. Polite staff, tasty ice creams and a really good selection of flavours to choose from, which were good value for money.

I took my friends here when we were down from London, we ordered a variety of food from hot dogs to sandwiches and ice cream on top. In spite of it appearing as an ordinary cafe and next to a few high-priced fancy restaurants and, on the other end of the scale, greasy spoons - Ryde Pier Caf is now my firm go-to on the esplanade. The food is well priced and good quality, would highly recommend the hot dogs and fish and chips. The chips especially are great! There’s also a selection of freshly baked cakes and scones if you’re after an afternoon tea. You really can’t go wrong here, and with lovely sea views I can highly recommend the atmosphere. Get down early to meet Shadow - the island’s largest and friendliest dog!

This place is a hidden gem! To be honest I wasn’t expecting much, just a burger, hotdog and fries by the beach. I come from a seaside town so was expecting the usual tat at inflated prices. Wow! Were we surprised! Absolutely fantastic restaurant quality food, looked stunning and tasted better! Probably the best fries I’ve had in years. Please don’t be put off by the location or general looks. This is worth stopping at.

We bought mr wippy ice cream. It wasn’t icecream, it was non-cream, icy and the texture felt like it was made with either cheap product or water. If you want decent ice, this is not the place to go.

Wanted something quick. For fast food it was very good. The burgers were lovely and juicy served with dill pickle, bacon, mustard, onion Etc etc. The fries were very good also and served with lovely sea salt. It was freshly cooked to order and the young ladies taking the orders and doing the cooking were very helpful and friendly.

The day we visited had been pretty lousy for lots of reasons and the lady at the cafe just made things a whole lot worse. She huffed and puffed on the till first of all, then ranted because I'd queried the very long wait for chips. Even if I'd offended her for daring to ask if they were on their way, I would have thought she could have managed a sorry. She practically threw them at me. I'm also not sure if staff serving food should have their long hair all over their face. But maybe I'm being too critical.

AVOID !!!!!!!! I read there menu and it says they cater for gluten / dairy free Ask a member of staff what was available And I got well we have gluten free bread but we have no idea what we can put in it 🤷‍♀️ Why on earth would you put onto your menu / signage that you cater for this and don’t train your staff to understand what they are serving. This is so worrying for a lot of people and could make someone really sick . AVOID !!!!!! 😡😡

Friendly staff, food over priced and take too long to come out, views of the sea and Ryde seafront very nice.

Visited Ryde Pier Costa cafe last weekend with my mother expecting cafe to be similar to Costa coffee cafe and expected coffee to be good quality and taste, totally let down by both, a) cafe was typical of a train station type cafe, big tear on seat where we sat and windows were dirty which spoilt the view and b) coffee was weak and very poor quality, suspecting the cafe using Costa machine but using poor quality unknown brand coffee or its seriously watered down! I feel like this let's down the Costa coffee brand but people who appreciate a good cup of coffee like myself (eg Costa coffee) will realise that the coffee they are using defo isn't Costa coffee. Please can the manager of this terrible cafe sort this out ASAP 😕😣😞

We decided to have some fun and Went bowling at Ryde Cafe & Pier esplanade. The staff was amazing with Jodi & her boss allowing us to bowl for 30 minutes even though we had no reservation. Fully booked and they still found us a sport for 30 minutes. This is how you know when someone ( boss) has the skills to run a business. She search her reservations and slotted is in to bowl. Because of her proactive and business skills we will definitely return to bowl for much longer and we will try the laser game when we return. Thank you. We all agree that Isle of Wight has some really Amazing people who are very friendly and fun.

The big breakfast is fantastic. The quality of ingredients excellent- two tasty sausages, black pudding, egg, bacon, beans and toast - and the service great too. Well worth the cost and there is a great view too. Highly recommended👍

All outside seating affording excellent views. Nice light meals,nice toasties in particular, and all served with a smile and most polite. Next time I'm trying the cake.

Well...I’ve sampled most of the burgers at the so called ‘top’ places around London & the smoked jalapeño burger at The Ryde Pier Cafe beats them all. The flavours are fantastic & the black bun looks stunning. It comes with some Bloody Hell hot sauce...
