Brilliant pub. Gets better every time!

It was very unwelcoming we got shown to our table and we were left there. The only time the waiter knew that we were sitting in the corner they put us in the conservatory was when one of us came back from the toilet. They had served a couple that came in after us. There was no apology for the wait or that they didn't see us.

This is one of those pubs you pass and think oh that looked nice, no idea why. I love it here now I've been! Great food for a food price. Lots of choice. Great staff, friendly usuals. Doggy friendly +++ Decent car park. Bus route.

Warm welcome by personable and knowledgable staff, delicious fresh food. Highly suggest having the chicken, gammon and leek pie! Very friendly and warm atmosphere.

2023 We had a lovely late brunch followed by a pint. Waitress was really helpful and accommodating. Food portion was good. Then off to catch the ferry. 2024 Good was delicious 😋 we had therewith Yorker chicken with bacon, vegetarian breakfast and a mushroom omelet. Then off to catch the ferry.

Food was exceptional really enjoyed our evening. Staff very friendly Highly recommend it here Dog friendly

Cajun chicken and New York chicken were unbelievable. The portions were excellent. Unfortunately, the burgers were awful, the meat was hard to chew, dense and tasted really poor, although there were lots of fries, more than we could eat. Overall the atmosphere was nice, the food was nice and the staff were. Just the burgers were poor

Very good food with nice garden and play area if you have kids with you, staff were lovely too! We had the mushrooms tagliatelle on special, specials all looked great.

Visited The Cedars on 2 occasions during our holiday to the Island between 23rd & 30th August 2024, the second visit being our 25th wedding anniversary. The food was delicious and compared to London prices it was very reasonable, which I suppose isn't surprising. We sat in the bar area as we had our fur baby with us and we were made to feel welcome by both Tia & Ash (lovely couple) taking time to chat and tell us a bit about the property, the bar staff and waiting staff were also very friendly and courteous . The pub itself and the toilets were spotless. Will definitely be paying them a visit on our next visit in August 2025. look forward to seeing you, Thank you Julie & Richard (& Rosie) xxx

Have been visiting this pub a few times over the past couple of months due to finding it extremely welcoming from the first time of going there on the spur of the moment with the dog. We felt so welcome by the lovely owners & alot of the nice regulars straight away who didn't know us but we were chatting for quite a while & this has continued each time I've headed back there. After our walks in the nearby park & visit here has become more regular & that'll continue as it's always a pleasure to drop by. Plenty of outdoor seating for the nice summer months & that nice old school sort of feel to indoors. Great that it's dog friendly too as everyone there always comes to see my retriever with a fresh bowl of water. See you again soon, keep up the good work 👍

Excellent pub. Spotless toilets and tasteful decor. Friendly atmosphere, and staff. Nice outdoor areas. Fuller's summer beer was excellent. Must come for homecoojed food next time!!

Waited for over an hour. Food inedible which is a shame as the pub itself looks rather charming from the outside. Sadly, would not recommend for a meal.

Stopped off for lunch with the family before catching the ferry at Fishbourne. A lovely pub with good food and friendly staff knowledgeable about celiac / gluten free options. Would definitely recommend this pub for anyone in the area doing the same.

After having dinner at the sloop the nigh before and being ver disapointed we went to The Cedars pub just up the road, and boy was that different, fantastic service, amazing food and great beer, do youself a favour and eat here it's excellent.

Our first visit, whilst on holiday on the island. Friendly welcome and the food was good. Although we sadly no longer have one ourselves, we were glad to see it was dog friendly!

Mmm.....bit slow. Okay food but bit weird. (Not ideal if you need to catch a ferry!)

Friday night 7pm flat out busy. Food took an hour to come, Thai green curry and a pizza. Took a long time, but both were banging when they arrived. Friendly staff, served us well. Funny vibe in the pub can’t put my finger on that, even so good Fullers pub

I would have given 5 stars if they had told us they were running a short menu due to the festival. The menu was very limited and one of or group couldn't find anything on it she wanted at all so ended up making do with another starter and dirty fires. When it comes to the food what we did have was nice and couldn't complain but as I said before we didn't have alot to choose from so made so with what was there. The dirty fries ended up as on block of chips that you couldn't do anything with so got left. The service was good the waitress went had was very good and friendly. It was a little of a let down for our last night there but not the end of the world. I wouldn't say don't go just check there running a full menu as I'm sure it will be very nice.

Easy free parking. Friendly staff with a good atmosphere and selection of seating areas .inside and out.with a small play area for children. Good selection of food including vegetarian and vegan.

Absolutely fantastic pub with plenty of Vegan options. The portions were well sized and the publicans were incredibly welcoming. The pub itself has a warm traditional feel, big carpark and beer garden with kids play area. The vegan lasagne was very good and would highly recommend, they also had vegan cheese to veganise the pizzas for the kids, the kids loved it 👌

En-route to catch the ferry back to Portsmouth we wanted to get lunch. Our first choice was a place we already knew but they couldn't serve us. We had given up and were just on the road close to the Ferry terminal when we stopped at traffic lights just in front of The Cedars driveway. We decided to go in, and were greeted by the lovely lady who runs the bar who immediately told us we could have lunch. We ordered quite quickly and then had a thoroughly enjoyable meal washed down with lots of mineral water and Pepsi. The Cedars is a charming place with beautiful gardens and we enjoyed it so much we definitely want to return soon. Altogether it set a wonderful final seal on our trip, before leaving to return home. Especially big thank you to that very kind lady - and all in the kitchens!

Great Sunday roast with excellent service from the staff. The HSB was also very nice.

My family and I all thoroughly enjoyed our evening meal, the food was good, the service was great and the atmosphere was perfect. We eat out often and tend to prefer restaurants, but this pub deserves 5 stars. If you’re looking for an easy, relaxed and enjoyable meal, you can’t go wrong.

Yes it wasn't bad could make it more comfortable out side for smoker as it shelter has only two side to it but bar staff had been very kind .

Went for a wake at the cedars. I was plesently surprised on how much it's improved in service and atmosphere. Really friendly and cosey. Would definitely visit again

Had driven past many times and finally decided to pay a visit (mainly due to being halfway between my youngest's house and the ferry). Arrived before food was being served but more than welcomed and accommodated for the wait. Loved that there seemed to be a healthy amount of regulars in the pub and dog friendly (bar side only) with real fires for winter. Nice selection of beer also. Once orders were being taken, I opted for steak and ale pie ( which was perfect). Good selection on the menu for light bites, mains, and vegetarian options (kids menu also available). Staff were very attentive, and do note if you have a ferry to catch. This may well now become a regular spot. Good amount of parking, easily accessible and just 4 mins away from the Fishguard terminal.

Lovely guest ale, delicious food and attentive table service. So happy to call this friendly family run pub our local.

We had a lovely burger each followed by an amazing Tarte Tatin which was absolutely delicious 😋😋

The staff were great, got a table for us, we had not booked. The food was very good.

Never had food as it was the middle of the day.. also couldn't tell about the atmosphere as it's midday. The bar staff was very friendly and the views from the pub window were beautiful

Visited this pub on a Friday evening with my Brother Great choice of well kept beer in nice surroundings Bar and Restaurants staff very polite and welcoming The Landlord and Landlady are very friendly The food was very Good Pub Grub at Reasonable Prices. I Highly recommend this wonderful Establishment

We were over I.O.W for 4 days and we went to this cracking pub twice. Food and staff fantastic,wish we could have gone again but next time we are over there we will be visiting 💯 % lovely pub 😀 thank you to all the staff

Good food. Friendly welcoming staff. Went to The Cedars for Saturday dinner with the family in early October. Food was good - fish and chips, Thai fish cakes, Pizza for the kids. Staff are friendly and nothing is too much trouble. Love coming here.

Unfortunately we were at the wonderful Alamo celebrating a birthday when they had the unfortunate fire. We still had to eat and the cedars stept in and they did a wonderful job food was brilliant and the staff were outstanding.

Lovely pub, really friendly service and nice beer gardens. Great spot to stop for a pint or seven.

Fairly busy on a Sunday. Maybe could do with an extra member of staff to man the bar. It appeared that the staff were overwhelming with kitchen and bar duties. Nice pub though.

We visited the Cedars while on holiday. It's a very friendly place. Staff are welcoming and professional in their approach. Great food and drink, plenty of choice, and excellent presentation. Enjoyed it so much, we returned for another meal later in the week.

My food was good, I had the Sunday roast (beef), decent portion side albeit I could have gone for a further potato and more carrots. Plenty Of meat . The kids food was tasty as well. Nice portions sizes, only thing that stopped it being a 5 was that my wife's meals was not as good, but still ok. There was stilton in the burger, but my wife missed it on the menu. Waitress was attentive and nice. Would eat there again.

We had the duck a l'orange and it reminded me of my time in Da Nang when I had to duck all the time.

The new bar guy Josh was great. Such a fun night. When he performed Coyote Ugly on the bar it was one of the best things I've seen since Les Miserables

This has become a regular haunt for us, Love the separate restaurant area with table service, varied menu and specials board. Food is cooked to order and always good quality as is the Beer & Wine !

Having past The Cedars we decided to stop for a drink and was so pleasantly surprised, really friendly staff and good prices. Came back next day for Sunday lunch, absolutely excellent lovely food good service and very pleasant staff, well done

Stopped here on way to Ryde on Scooter, Sunday roast was gorgeous, we had the pork and crackling and beef and yorkie 😘 £40 Including a beer and wine, so good value and staff very helpful 🙏

Had the onion rings, chicken, ham, & leek pie, a lamb steak special, and cheesecake special - all was delicious except my partner says it was instant mash (I didn’t notice - tasted fine to me). Overall, very happy and would go again if in the area. Servers were nice and provided large jugs of tap water for us, as we were thirsty tourists.

Popped in while on a family reminiscing trip round Wootton Bridge . Stayed to eat the food was excellent as was the service well kept beer and lovely staff . Even bumped into old friends which made the evening even more special

Really enjoyed our food , one of the best pub experiences we have had eating out to date!we will be back once I've had my surgery and can consume alcohol again lol . Can't wait to try all the awesome beers on tap . We had a long wait , but we were warned and I'm all about good communication, great service and perfect food . A good five stars 🤩

Really nice pub. Was much needed after our long cycle. The food was really nice and homemade and sat in the lovely sunny beer garden. Friendly staff aswell.

We went here after getting off the Ferry. It’s been redecorated since we last came and it’s now a really nice mixture of traditional and modern which complements the food. Good choice of food that’s always reliably decent and priced. Will continue to visit yearly as part of our holiday tradition.

If you're in Wootton Bridge pop into The Cedars. The staff are so friendly and welcoming. Great choice of food. We ordered the Steak and a Chicken and Ham Pie. Both meals were fab. Prompt service in a lovely traditional pub. Young guy who took our order was lovely and very patient. Will def return next time we are here. Highly recommended.

Although we had booked it can still be a challenge to cope with a dozen or more people all ordering at once. Well they did very well here, none of us seemed to wait very long for lovely food freshly cooked. Very good sized portion. Whoever looks after the beer know thier stuff, a truly excellent pint of London Pride. The place was very clean but the toilets absolutely immaculate. Friendly staff.........we will return.

I have recently been to the Cedars for a couple of family celebrations and I just love the friendly, homely atmosphere in there. The staff are so welcoming and the food is good. Traditional homemade pub grub that is delicious. I would highly recommend The Cedars if you want a casual lunch or dinner out. It's 5 stars from me! I will be back soon 🔜💕

Nice busy pub, had a band on past night which was nice, the garden is big and the car park is a good size, drinks are at a good price.

Very family & dog friendly pub. Staff are lovely and the food was so nice. Pub was catering for a funeral at the time of our visit but nothing was too much trouble, we were very happy to have found this little gem. Thankyou for making us so welcome. Four stars for the food and great staff but the owners have no personality to speak of and seem to rely on the others to make people feel welcome and valued. Despite the generous portions and nice decor if the hard working barmaid who took food orders, drink orders and asked us how our food was wasn't present and all we had were the owners who just hung about chatting to friends would see me take my custom elsewhere such as the Woodmans or even the Sloop. Both in walking distance.

Such a lovely pub and staff were so kind to our nervous rescue dog. Thank you for offering him treats!

Mothers day dinner, greeted at the bar by a friendly member of staff who showed us too our table. Drinks ordered and served immediately and given time to choose what to eat. Food arrived just in time and was served hot, and fresh. Pudding was a little dissapointment, all of us chose a brownie and the adult portion size was no different to the childrens, yet the price was £3 more for adults, with only an extra scoop of ice cream (menu showed £1.50 per scoop) so felt a bit ripped off with that. All in all though we'd definitely return, the bar lady even brought some fresh daffodils as a gift for mother's day, and the waitress brought my son some milk as he thought he'd like to try a Jalapeño off my Cajun Chicken Breast 😂.
