Very friendly place great service and food was tasty and hot as prices go very reasonable

I haven't eaten at the vine for years and thought we would try it out. We were not disappointed!! I had the Tuscan pasta and it was hands down the best pasta dish I have ever had in a pub. It was perfectly seasoned and delicious. I burnt my tongue because I couldn't wait for it to cool down. My partner had the stilton stack and said the same. Also that the chips were amazing!! You can really tell that everything is home made and not just reheated. Also the cocktails are well worth trying, all of them are delicious and not just the bog standard cocktails you get in most pubs.

We had burgers which were amazing & the staff were talkative & welcoming. Very pleasant atmosphere even though we were not locals.

Visited near the end of September 24 with the family of 8 needing something nice to eat. Made to feel welcome by the staff straight away and we’ve all come away full up and feeling we need to diet soon lol Little car park which is fine but there is ample parking just across the street.

Such a beautiful Sunday lunch. Relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. Delicious food. Had a very enjoyable time on a spur of.the moment stop.

Visited The Vine several times and we have never had a bad meal. The food is always great as is the service. Must mention the best cauliflower cheese on the island maybe the country!!

We are on Holiday and staying Freshwater IoW. We booked Sunday lunches. And we would just like to say that these are the best Sunday lunches we have had in ages. Lovely pub. Dog friendly. Friendly accommodating staff. Definitely the best pub to come to if staying at Freshwater.

The staff couldn't do enough for us. They changed our booked table for us, so we were cooler and the table was quieter (which is what we wanted). The roast dinners were very well priced and delicious. Enough gravy, a great range of veg and we were able to order more toasties for £1.50 ( so my son was even happier). The wine and beer was also very reasonable and Densil the dog was adorable. Thank you Vine Inn for a lovely meal and a lovely experience.

Went for a quiet drink before supper. No longer a Fullers pub so beers have changed. Peace was disrupted by customers yapping dog. No action taken by landlady. Place is dismal and needs a severe make over which Fullers presumably would not finance.

We were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. It was all excellent. And they did proper pies with shortcrust pastry around the base and top (as opposed to a puff pastry fake pie with just a top). Incredibly friendly and helpful staff. Friendly atmosphere. We would definitely go back.

During the Euro Cup season, my boyfriend and I enjoyed the games here a lot. The service is incredible, attentive and pleasant. The guy in charge is very considerate and always has a smile. We made reservations several times and they always put us at tables close to the TV. And on more than one occasion he closed the place later to finish watching the game. I highly recommend it, the food is delicious, the music is very pleasant, the garden is comfortable and it is Petfriendly.

Visited the Vine a few times over our stay in Freshwater. It’s very dog friendly and the food was great pub grub in large portions. It’s fairly priced for food and drinks. Car park to the side. Local beers on tap. The staff were very welcoming. Would recommend and we would return if we visit the island again.

We had a superb lunch in the vine inn. I had a lovely chicken burger and my partner had the fish and chips. Delicious! Overall a lovely pub with really friendly and helpful staff. We will be back on our next visit to IOW 😊

We visited Freshwater May 2024 and we came across this pub near our campsite. We absolutely loved it. The food was amazing, the atmosphere and staff were so accommodating and helpful. We were too full after our pie and mash on the first night so we decided to go again the next day so we could get a dessert! 100% would recommend.

A nice pub with good beer and food choices, including a kiss / lighter bites menu. There's a nice beer garden, provided the weather is good. Prices are reasonable. Polite and friendly staff. Parking is a little tight and limited on site, but on-road parking is nearby.

It is a long time since I have had such awful food, and at such a price! Fishcakes had a touch of what seemed like kipper in potato then deep fried so they are hard as bullets and taste horrible. I really could not eat it. No vinaigrette or anything else for the salad other than mayo or pepper. Such poor quality. Avoid their food at all cost. Wetherspoons is tons better

Just popped in here on a whim as was looking for a quick dinner after a long drive. The place was packed, great atmosphere and the staff really friendly. Good bite to eat, a drink and the little one petting the dog by the bar. All good and would definitely go back.

Came to Isle of Wight for a break, on way back from visiting the needles, we fancied a Sunday lunch. This pub did not disappoint! Staff were so friendly, welcoming and the food was beautiful! Would definitely come back on our next visit to the island.

Had a lovely Mother’s Day lunch here today. The gift boxed Gin and Tonic was a lovely thought: The food was good quality, piping hot and plentiful. Staff are really efficient and the owners really humble - don’t think they realise just how good they are. Their rescue dog Denzel from Cyprus is also a lovely addition. Highly Recommend.

A lovely pub in the centre of the village, which dates back centuries. Thursday night is Quiz night, You can have a meal, snack, or a drink, whatever you choose, enjoy it in am old established pub at the heart of the village.

2nd visit to The Vine, this time as a party of 7 for Sunday lunch. Lovely warm welcome from Craig and shown to our table. Order quickly taken with everyone choosing something slightly different! The food was served piping hot and was delicious! As a vegetarian it can often be difficult to find a good choice for traditional Sunday lunch but at The Vine I needed have worried, a tasty nut roast with all the trimmings including veggie gravy was served . I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Booked for Sunday lunch at The Vine, we received a warm welcome, we were taken through the menu and quickly served our drinks. A really fantastic roast dinner, great value, plenty of vegetables, meat, roasties and a huge Yorkshire pudding. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and would definitely visit again.

Had the pleasure of having dinner here twice last week. Really great food, perfect service from the team and a really helpful landlord.

Best pub meal for years friendly attentive staff with a lovely menu sensibly priced the food arrived clearly freshly cooked with good sized portions of everything advertised and when I payed I left the change as a tip and they even checked if I had meant to leave it never had that happen when I questioned it they said we never assume how good is that. Wished I lived closer as would say best pub on the island for food

Went for family food evening time, great service, better than average pub grub, nothing fancy but a few out of the norm dishes on the menu. Large portions! Nice atmosphere. Good for families. Smiling happy staff!

Just had THE most amazing Sunday roast at the vine!! I had the lamb my husband had pork both came with stuffing and Yorkshire pudding.Greens,carrots,swede,broccoli,roast potatoes and roast parsnips. We paid a little extra for a delicious side of cauliflower cheese. All fresh veg not frozen,all topped off with perfect gravy. With a pint of cider and lager it came to £44!! Lovely and hot,cooked perfectly and plenty of it!!! Table service was excellent too. All inside tables booked when we arrived,no surprise there. Simply perfect,thank you ALL so much.😍😍

We have been to visit needles and were looking for a local place for dinner and were blown away by the friendly staff, absolutely mouthwatering delicious food, and great atmosphere. Not too noisy. Clean. Good prices. Would return if back in the area for sure.

We went for Sunday lunch and it was excellent again. This is our fourth Sunday lunch at The Vine and we are never disappointed, the service is very good and the roast was fantastic with plenty of it. Our friends were very impressed and we will definitely return.

Warm welcome, friendly service and a lovely menu. First visit to here and we were impressed enough to visit again. Whether it is because the pub is not in a classic seaside location I don’t know but they seem to be a little bit better at all the things that make for a nice family evening meal out.

Had visited this place a few years back and it was less than impressive. Had heard good things recently so thought we would give it a go on the first night of our holiday. What a transformation! Craig welcomed us and genuinely couldn’t do enough for us. Good choice of specials (unfortunately no pies but he reassured me they would be on later in the week!) Good choice of ales! Food was fresh and very tasty. I recommend the Bhaji Burger! A great meal in pleasant surroundings. Good to see it so busy! If you are staying at Heathfield Campsite you get 10% off.

This is a lovely little pub with delicious food and very helpful and friendly staff. We visited whilst on holiday on our way back from a long day out and were welcomed with friendly faces and delicious food in this lovely village pub! Exactly what we needed. I am sure we will return when we are next on holiday.

We are local and went for lunch yesterday, it was our second Sunday roast at The Vine and we can highly recommend it. The service was excellent and the roast dinner was fantastic, enough of everything. I have had roast dinners in the West Wight but this is the place to go if you want quality along with value for money. Well done!

I accept that pubs have had it tough, which has resulted in higher prices but there comes a time of diminishing returns when the prices rise. So we visited the Vine initially just for a pint of beer and a medium Diet Coke. The cost was an eye watering £8.20 so that killed off our plans for repeat lunch time drinks and an evening meal, as the Vine was our holiday accommodation local.

There are separate areas for diners and drinkers. The food is well presented, good and fairly priced. Table service only for the diners. I believe the people there work very hard to try to ensure diners enjoy their visit. There is a small, pleasant garden area to the front. All areas are wheelchair accessible. Dog friendly with treats offered.

Only open 4 days a week but when you are there Sammy and Craig are excellent hosts, serving quality food and with a large selection of drinks.

Absolutely amazing food for a litte pub best stake and fritz and ever with amazing real blue cheese sauce a definite most go and try I couldnt fault it at all and I'm very fussy 10/10 credit where credit is due.
