The food tasted like, it was cooked by someone who has worked at the restaurant since it opened its doors, and no longer cares! lose the kitchen staff, appreciate the hard working Front of House more, and get rid of the manager who has little man syndrome

We did not stay at the hotel, but we had a meal in the restaurant. The food was excellent. It was reasonably priced, the portion sizes were great. Good value for money. The staff were friendly, hospitable and were very attentive to needs. They were particularly good when accommodating the dietary request for my son. Great afternoon - thank you

Stopped here for breakfast after arriving on the Fishbourne ferry. Large restaurant with large car park. We chose the Manor Feast sharing platter which was extremely good value, and fed both of us from the extensive menu. There were about six different items including potato wedges, battered mushrooms, chicken bites, tortilla chips and a couple of dips. Staff friendly and couldn't do enough for us

I with 6 other friends ate in the Restaurant at The Manor Inn at Ryde and enjoyed the visit. First we picked this venue because of the space, and due to Covid this is the first time in three years that we could meet together, We have had to rely on Zoom. The staff made sure we were safe in our seating and eating (allergies). Ordering was easy, the meals were served together, and were very tasty. The staff go highly recommended. I thank them for their kindness and care and will be back with my friends again in the near future.

Just come home after having a really fantastic Sunday beef roast with beautifully cooked vegtables and roast pots. This was followed with a brilliant Strawberry pavlova the size of which was amazing. This day was finished off with the 2 really fantastic young men serving us. Congratulations to you both and the rest of the staff you are all a credit to the Appley. Steph.

In fact I would highly recommend that you don't go here if you expect 'Hotel' food as the selection is very down market. Food service stops at 8pm and then they start moving tables around for setting up Breakfast most off putting while you are still eating! Ordering is at the food bar not the bar not at all 'restrauranty'.

Friendly staff, quick service and extremely generous portions. I have a big appetite but even I couldn't stomach a three course meal. Listen, the food quality isn't anything to rave about but the value, size and variety that's on offer is great. Only thing that I'd change is the dated decor but even that's part of the charm I suppose.

A very warm atmosphere and very friendly staff made me feel very welcome. An unpretentious but very good food. On walking in I asked two leaving guests how their meal was - "excellent" they said. And I then went on to enjoy my own meal which was the vegetarian nut roast with mushroom sauce that came with green veg and chips - all very tasty. I can't say the sea of mushroom sauce looked expecially attractive, but it tasted delicious, which is what I was hoping for.

Didn't use the Hotel for staying in, just popped in for dinner. My wife and I live on the Isle and when the day has been a bit of bugger and nobody has the strength, will or inclination to prepare and cook a meal, we tend to just drop every thing and eat out. This time we chose the Appley Manor as it is local and we have used it before. Reading through the comments left by other dinners It makes me wonder if we ate at the same place. Comments went from, never again, to the best ever. We are all human and different and expect differing things, some days the meals will be better than others on others not so good. This should not be the case but in reality it happens. Having worked in a kitchen environment for more years than I care to remember the ultimate product lies with the head chef before it leaves the kitchen, portion control, presentation, freshness and appeal of the food and consistency. People eat with their eyes and would have scanned the other restaurant dinners for an idea of what is on offer, you may not realise that you are doing it, but we do. I made my choice and my wife made hers, she was very satisfied with what she had as was I with mine(portion size was small for my liking, but it was what it was) My garlic bread was limp and cold whilst my main meal choice had just come direct from a microwave oven. My choice was swayed by what I had eaten their before and had enjoyed it, as did my wife. This time she was happy with it not so much me though. Our service was excellent and price paid average. So my comments would fall half way between the 1-10 scale. Different day different rating. Different kitchen brigade different out put. Appley Manor management need to address their kitchen issues to deliver constant standards in their restaurant, and dinners need to remember it's not a 2 or 3 star Michelin restaurant. And yes It could do with an update.

We booked for 3 adults and 2 children. A pleasant entrance however once we got to the table it was evident the decor hasn't been updated in many years, likely decades. From menus to lighting, everything was mis-matched and jumbled. Ordered food at the bar, and had to order drinks separately (why not just 1 transaction?) and the wait time was pretty good. Food looked however was only average, with the cottage pie being excessive in size with far too much pototae and also chips too! My son had a waffle for dessert but it turned out to be really hard & stale throughout most of it. It wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't go back unless they improved the decor and freshened up the food.

Visited apply manor last week for a party, food was good but visited again today for a roast for the first time and are highly disappointed, meat was okayish but the stuffing, veg and potatoes was disgusting, like hospital food and over priced! Unclear on what you get as doesn’t state I had lamb and came with a Yorkshire pudding but my partner had pork and didn’t get one and doesn’t state that when ordering!! Potatoes were frozen and rock hard, veg and stuffing frozen too! Worse roast dinner I’ve had so won’t be returning

If I could review 0/5, this place deserves it.The building is spectacular to look at but that is the only good thing about it.The decor is seriously outdated and needed redecorating in the 1980s, let alone now.Tables were reserved over two hours before they were needed, meaning lots of empty tables. The toilets STANK of stale urine and the smell hit me as soon as I went to take my two year old son to the toilet. The smack in the teeth came upon reading a sign stating that the toilets were regularly checked. What a complete and utter joke.Food wise, complete waste of money. I paid over £30 for two adult meals and two children's meals. We probably only ate £10 worth as the food was so tasteless. The food had no seasoning in it and had to be slathered in tomato ketchup in order to attempt to make it edible. We had a lasagne, chicken and ribs, children's chicken tikka and children's chicken nuggets. The choice on the menu was uninspiring and just bog standard pub food. The lasagne just tasted of watery cheese and had a minuscule amount of meat inside. I don't know how the chef messed this up but managed it spectacularly. It was that bad that my wife had to get it swapped for a steak pie. This was also tasteless and on the table in less than 3 minutes after ordering. My ribs were slathered in BBQ sauce but this was to hide how truly bland they were. The chicken was non-descript.The chicken nuggets went down well but my son doesn't taste food, more inhale it; they also had a look of 'cheap, processed and shaped' nuggets about them. The curry was left by my older son as he didn't like it. Upon tasting it I felt it tasted like a jar of tikka sauce mixed with the same non-descript chicken.Service wise, the junior staff were pleasant and courteous. Then there was (who I can only presume was the owner or manager) floating around the floor talking to the regulars. He was immediately behind the staff member as my wife was getting her meal exchanged. He asked the junior staff member what was wrong but did not engage our table or offer his apologies. When the rectified meal was brought out, at no point did he come over and ask if everything was OK. He didn't seem to care about anyone who wasn't a local.I can't for the life of me see how anyone could give this place 5/5.

While taking a nostalgic short break in Ryde, we were pleased to find this restaurant/bar (right next door to where I lived many years ago before Appley Manor became an hotel). The meal was the best we had in the area, and indeed among the best 'bar-meals' we've had anywhere. It was great to see vegetarian alternatives that were more interesting than the usual unimaginative offerings most places begrudgingly provide. In particular, it was refreshing to be able to have a veggie main course served with potatoes and plentiful fresh vegetables! [other establishments please note: vegetarians enjoy potatoes and vegetables too]. Well done also for the excellent service from the proprietor and staff, all of whom were exceptionally friendly, cheerful, polite and courteous. Look forward to returning again before too long.

Stopped for Breakfast, and had a better meal served to me than what a lot of Café’s can turn out. It was excellent value for money (I had the ‘Manor Deal’ with free Coffee and Toast), and the service was good.Unfortunately the place itself is quite ‘tired’, and whoever the cleaner is needs sacking, that is unless they are 4 foot tall and that’s why they can’t reach the Cobwebs. Similarly the quality of the Breakfast wasn’t brilliant, but it was far better than the basic catering standard of some places, and the Bacon especially was quite good. All in all for a ‘no frills’ Breakfast, I would go again.

The Restaurant is open to the public. This is only the second time I have eaten at Appley Manor, the first was a funeral in May 2015. This was well catered for. But don't class that as a meal. This time it was just the Wife and I. The food was great. Well cooked and hot. It stayed hot all through the meal. The was plenty of it as well. For pudding I had apple pie, it was the best pie I have ever had. The staff were all polite and courteous. I will be going here a lot more.

Although we tend to eat at better restaurants when we are on the island we have found the Manor Inn to be a good back-up venue, offering reasonable quality food at sensible prices. If you are looking for a quiet, intimate experience then do not go to this pub because it caters more for families with young children or parties.Generally the food they serve can be relied upon to be wholesome, hot and tasty, but in my experience they have tended to use frozen vegetables. They have an extensive bar that is well stocked that should be able to satisfy most adult tastes, including adequate soft drinks for children. When they are very busy we have found the service and time taken to serve food slow, and again when they are very busy the overall standard of the food served can markedly deteriorate from the norm.So overall I would say this is a reasonable pub - definitely not the best, but acceptable and worth a visit.
