We actually had some of their milk before and were going to IOW for a small family break so decided to bring the bottles back and stop in their cafe and have a spot of lunch. Must say the food was great, staff is great and prices while the upper end of what lunch would normally be, was worth it because of the quality of the ingredients. Amazing sausages, amazing chutneys, amazing bacon.. goodness me it was nice. The best bit was you could buy everything they used in their farm shop so went and bought a load of sausages, bacon for breakfast the next day and a jar that lovely chutney. A nice little touch is that kids get free milk, which with the milk quality of this place was delicious. You could also watch the cows being milked and they had new calves you could see as well. All in all 10/10 Yes it was expensive but I'd rather give my money directly to a hardworking farm.

Table of 7 all had different food. 2 soups had to be returned as they were cold. Jacket potato was luke warm, no butter or offer of butter and very dry. Gluten free scone was so overheated in the microwave it was very chewy. 2 of us had cheese scones that came with grated cheese in a plastic pot (surely sliced cheese would have been better!) okay but nothing to get excited about and for £8.50 would have expected better. The mac and cheese was good and hot. Waitress was indifferent to the problems and basically had an excuse for everything but not much in the way of an apology. A few of us wanted dessert but no one approached to ask and after the 1st course we didn't bother. Won't be going back again as this is the second visit that I have been disappointed.

Stopped for lunch on a Monday in early March, having visited the excellent farm shop and already tasted their burgers and chicken - both first class. Food at Bluebells today was extremely good- huge portions - my jacket potato with egg mayo was enough for a main meal. Others in my group had a couple of the Specials: Halloumi Hash ( grilled halloumi, beetroot, poached eggs and sautéed potatoes); the Briddlesford Burger. One of my group also had a chocolate milk shake - 'the best ever'. Service was very prompt and there was genuine interest when asking how our food was. Would have loved one of their cakes or desserts but we were so full! If not for just visiting the Isle of Wight for a holiday, we would visit very regularly. Thank you to all at Bluebells.

Cafe clean and tidy and not very busy. Service was poor, we waited over 40 minutes for our meals. My companion ordered gammon, eggs and chips and the chips where french fries and the gammon appeared to be sliced ham, not gammon. I had cottage pie which was a small portion with few vegetables with broccoli almost raw and very soggy parsnips. All in all a disappointing experience.

Although we have lived on the IOW for 4yrs, this is our first visit to Bluebells Cafe for my husbands birthday Breakfast, today, as was recommended to us. The breakfast, small, was delicious, all IOW produce, flavours exceptional. Catered for my tomato allergy with no question. They also have Oat milk as dairy replacement, so everything we needed. Staff friendly, lovely clean restaurant and facilities. Will be back on Friday for my birthday lunch.

Bluebells Cafe is a great place to meet for breakfast, brunch or lunch with friends. It's set in a working dairy farm and you can pet some of the calves. The food is great and the service is good although you may have to be a bit more patient if the cafe is busy. I would recommend the Bluebells breakfast - the sausages in particular are gorgeous! Its also very dog friendly and has a fair size car park. There is an adjacent farm shop which is well worth a visit as they sell dairy products from the farm as well as other produce. Also pay a visit to the heritage centre set in the old hop kilns as you leave the cafe on your right hand side as you make your way back to the car park - a reminder of when beer was brewed on the farm back in the day. This provides interesting information on dairy farming as well as displaying various exhibits.

This place was recommended by the station master(?) at the steam railway. The food was good, although the sausage roll pastry was a tad tough. Very child friendly. Service was good and they quickly corrected an error when the wrong soup was served. Paid a quick visit to the farm shop and would have preferred to spend more time perusing. Seemed to have a good selection of local produce. Not sure I would recommend this place to vegetarians or vegans - it is a working farm with animals.

Just the cutest little things! Our food was delicious, all having breakfasts, and staff were very friendly. We also popped over to the little farm shop for a browse and a purchase of a few little bits. Easy and plentiful parking and there was also a building with some history on display which was very interesting. A lovely morning eating and browsing!

Halloumi hash arrived without the promised two poached eggs. Whilst they were being cooked the original food was not removed but left on the table. The veal skewers as stated were cooked in a light coating which unfortunately was too hot to taste the farm meat. It was very tender though but just a shame the taste didn't shine through. Both puddings, bread and butter and the sundae were excellent.

We did explain to the staff we needed to leave shortly but sadly the wait was still extreme. Im sure if you have plenty of time and are after a very leisurely breakfast this is fine, for those catching a ferry or somewhere to be then really do allow yourself extra time to enjoy a breakfast here. We went with some friends for the first time today for lunch. I can honestly say I won’t be going back. First it took 30 just to get a drink and even then they forgot one of the drink which took another 10 to be served. The food took over an hour to be served and it was not as advertised, I had the breakfast which didn’t have hash browns on and for some reason only half a mushroom. The beans were cold and so was the toast. My wife had a sandwich with was thick with cheap margarine and very little filling of bacon and chicken. We had a bowl of French fries which were again cold. The staff were friendly but clearly not able to cope with the amount of covers. When you look at the price of a breakfast over £12 you would expect a better standard and quality of produce and service. Sorry to say very disappointed what you see on the website is nothing like what you get.

My wife said it was the best (gammon) ham egg and chips she had had for a long time - no fat on the ham. We ordered pudding and again the food took a while to arrive but was delicious - my bread and butter pudding was superb. My wife had the brownies and was given an enormous portion, but the cafe provided a box to take some of it home with us. Went for lunch after crossing on the ferry to East Cowes, arriving around 1.30pm. On Friday 12th. I ordered Gammon and my wife asked what the soup of the day was and was told, sorry, we’ve run out. My wife then ordered an Egg Mayo sandwich and some chips. Our dinners arrived around 25 minutes later, and mine was 3 pieces of Ham, not Gammon. I started to eat as I didn’t want the chips and egg to go cold. When the waiter came past I said I had ordered Gammon not Ham, to which he replied it is Gammon Ham, not a Gammon Steak, and went on to tell me the difference. I did bite my tongue much to the pleasure of my wife. I just said the menu is not clear, if you are serving Ham say so. Other dinners beware. The food was ok, but I was misled. We visit the Island quite regularly and will not be returning. We have eaten out many times this week and I have had my Gammon, and on the menu it showed 2 entries, Gammon Steak, & Gammon Ham, no confusion there. If you want a fabulous Gammon Steak go to the Steamer Inn on Shanklin sea front, the biggest and best 10oz Gammon Steak I have ever had.

This was my second visit here in the space of two weeks, both times the service was good & the food excellent. And both times we had the Farmers Breakfast, well, I did, (it’s big, but delicious) & the soup/sandwich/fries combo, for my companion, also very good. I can tell exactly why they recently won ‘Best Breakfast’, it really is the dogs you know what, trust me, you won’t be disappointed. It was busy, so we were glad we had pre-booked, the staff do sometimes seem to struggle to keep tables clear & take orders, we were booked for 12 Noon, it was nearly 12:50 by the time the food arrived, when it did though it was definitely worth it, overall the staff performed well & were very engaging, they just seem short-staffed sometimes. Coffee was very good, but again, could have been hotter, I can’t decide if they’re scared of making it too hot or if it sits there for a few mins before being served. WIFI was troublesome & again I wasn’t able to connect. Make sure you visit the on-site shop, lots of local goodies for sale in there, and the ponies too, don’t forget them! Nice looking cafe, with friendly (albeit slow) service. Main complaint is how unjustifiably overpriced everything was. £4.40 for a 250ml bottle of Folkington’s juice. They charge you 15p extra if you want decaf coffee. On the kids menu, £6 for a single boiled egg and a piece of toast that looked about the size of a Hovis medium slice. The mark-up was insane. There are plenty of other places around with far better value.

Lovely coffee and hot chocolate! Farm shop is brilliant too. We always stop off here on the way to the ferry!

Only on the Isle of Wight for the day I did some research before the visit & Briddlesfoed Farm Shop was on my list & definitely not to be missed if you are heading to Isle of Wight. At the cafe I had the best halloumi cheese I have ever tasted & my partner loved his parsnip soup toastie & chios combination. What a great idea. We left with some lovely local bread couple.of cheeses & the farms amazing butter. I hope I can place an online order for delivery for their amazing dairy products in the future!

Fantastic place, we go every year for breakfast before returning home on the ferry. The addition of the farmers breakfast is superb.

We came here for a breakfast on a Sunday morning, we ordered at 10.59am and received our breakfasts at 11.47, while I appreciate the cafe was busy what we received was not worth the wait! Deep fried bacon, cold mushroom, sausage was warm at best, eggs were so snotty it turned my stomach and I ordered a potato rosti to come on the side and I received two hash browns which is not a rosti but no one mentioned the change. The staff were doing their best and running around all over the place, maybe we just picked a bad day but I won’t be going back to find out. We asked for a refund and left

We love Bluebells, as local as it gets, regardless of when we catch the ferry, breakfast at bluebells is now a family tradition. Butter, sausages and milkshakes are out of this world.

Having visited some months ago and enjoyed the experience I was disappointed this time. Had to send the gammon ham sandwich back as the bread was stale and dry. It was replaced but I still don't think the bread was particularly fresh plus the sandwich was still dry - a skimming of butter on one slice of the sandwich only . My friend had the soup of the day which she said was ' wishy washy' 😒

Tasty food and great service albeit anonymous location, lacking ambience, but happily no background "music".

Just had one of the best salads since we arrived for a break 4 days ago! Plate piled with a variety of greens and vegs topped with a generous helping of the most deliciously thick cottage cheese. And not a ring of red, raw onion in sight - which is what passes as 'salad' in other cafes and eateries around Freshwater. Just the ticket for those who like a nutritious and filling lunch.

Had the seniors fish and chips today for lunch. Chips were tasty and hot. The fish was soft and flaky not over cooked. The batter on the fish was light and crispy. All in all a great fish and chips lunch cooked to perfection. At £6.50 you can't complain.

An enjoyable lunchtime visit: the steak and onion ciabatta was delicious, as was the ale from the Carlisle Brewing Co (the bar is Cask Marque accredited). The service was friendly and helpful. Easy to reach on the 516 bus route.
