The best restaurants in Isle of Wight South East

Had the seniors fish and chips today for lunch. Chips were tasty and hot. The fish was soft and flaky not over cooked. The batter on the fish was light and crispy. All in all a great fish and chips lunch cooked to perfection. At £6.50 you can't complain.

Lovely breakfast this morning. Perfect atmosphere with the front opened and reggae-ish music playing in the background. No complaints on the fry-up, exactly what we needed. Yes, you can probably walk up the road and get one slightly cheaper but what we received was lovely & not greasy, exactly how I like it. Thank you, we will definitely be back!

Great food, lovely staff. In my opinion one of the best if not the best curry around.

Just had one of the best salads since we arrived for a break 4 days ago! Plate piled with a variety of greens and vegs topped with a generous helping of the most deliciously thick cottage cheese. And not a ring of red, raw onion in sight - which is what passes as 'salad' in other cafes and eateries around Freshwater. Just the ticket for those who like a nutritious and filling lunch.

Absolutely love Kimbo's! Have heard so many great things, so gave it a try for a birthday dinner... it became a birthday banquet. The team were so friendly and made the effort to chat with us about our order to ensure it was just right. The portions are amazing value and such good quality, well cooked food. We will be back!

Bad experience with a person who said she was the owner. We made an enquiry about purchasing a very tall mature yellow magnolia which was in full bloom. As it would be no more in bloom in a week or so, we politely asked if we could make an offer. Our enquiry was met with a flat “No” in an affronted tone. We then asked about delivery charge. That too met with an offhand response of “It’s £10 now”. She then walked away and we followed her out of the plants area while we considered the purchase. However, we then heard her say to another male person (a colleague maybe) “That was a waste of my time” . Over the last few years, we have spent many hundreds of pounds at Forest View Nursery. Needless to say we will not be purchasing the magnolia and we will not be returning there to waste anybody’s valuable time again.

Excellent service, large cod was massive and freshly cooked, couldn't fault the food

We actually had some of their milk before and were going to IOW for a small family break so decided to bring the bottles back and stop in their cafe and have a spot of lunch. Must say the food was great, staff is great and prices while the upper end of what lunch would normally be, was worth it because of the quality of the ingredients. Amazing sausages, amazing chutneys, amazing bacon.. goodness me it was nice. The best bit was you could buy everything they used in their farm shop so went and bought a load of sausages, bacon for breakfast the next day and a jar that lovely chutney. A nice little touch is that kids get free milk, which with the milk quality of this place was delicious. You could also watch the cows being milked and they had new calves you could see as well. All in all 10/10 Yes it was expensive but I'd rather give my money directly to a hardworking farm.

After reading many a review of this place, I was very disappointed. It seemed incredibly under managed. Very little signage to guide you around the gardens. Weeds everywhere!! The glass house was appalling. The lilly pond was dreadful. Very poorly kept and seem very tired. I was not impressed at all. The breakfast omelette was nice, though, sitting on the terrace. It seems to all be totally under funded and is a faded glory. Get some volunteers in!!!

As you would expect from a seaside fish & chip shop - excellent product. I live inland and I would say this is 3 times better than my local.

It was fine, there were not many customers, but that will be different in the summer.

Conveniently placed walking distance from my house. Easy parking. Not too busy most of the time.

Went with a coach party. Hotel was clean and staff were very attentive. Cleaning lady was very good. Only real fault was the food. Soup was lukewarm. So was breakfast. One night we had lasagne. It was awful. No taste . Looked like sick on our plates. Worst meal ever been served in hotel. Had abba tribute band and disco whilst we were there. Both very good

Great place to eat. Awesome food.
