Absolutely love Kimbo's! Have heard so many great things, so gave it a try for a birthday dinner... it became a birthday banquet. The team were so friendly and made the effort to chat with us about our order to ensure it was just right. The portions are amazing value and such good quality, well cooked food. We will be back!
Another fantastic dinner from chia wing.
Takeaway containers rammed to the top, the oyster sauce is amazing as are prawn crackers, can't wait to work through your wonderful menu.
Someone here knows what they're doing. Tried other local places, however this is the best as I'm a fussy beggar.
David.
Good local food
Very cheap for the island (full English £6.99)
Homemade food as well (cakes, quiches etc)
Dog friendly

Been coming for years albeit not often.
Never had an unfriendly member of staff but never had a friendly one either
The Bargemans Rest is our go-to pub for food when on a cycle trip to the IOW. The food and service has always been excellent and good value. Highly recommend.
Stopped for lunch on a Monday in early March, having visited the excellent farm shop and already tasted their burgers and chicken - both first class. Food at Bluebells today was extremely good- huge portions - my jacket potato with egg mayo was enough for a main meal. Others in my group had a couple of the Specials: Halloumi Hash ( grilled halloumi, beetroot, poached eggs and sautéed potatoes); the Briddlesford Burger. One of my group also had a chocolate milk shake - 'the best ever'. Service was very prompt and there was genuine interest when asking how our food was. Would have loved one of their cakes or desserts but we were so full! If not for just visiting the Isle of Wight for a holiday, we would visit very regularly. Thank you to all at Bluebells.

Rather an odd place, some of the plants and surroundings are magnificent and other plants and areas are dreadful! They seem to be trying to achieve a "natural look" but it should not mean just leaving plants without care. We noticed that in some areas the plants are being strangled with bindweed which is sad to see and is going to be very destructive to many plants. Also some very big safety issues with paths close to the hot house blocked by branches and one path with steps going up a fairly steep hill where the handrail is totally hidden by overgrown plants.
In the valley at the bottom there is a large pit about 10' deep where the only safety barrier is made from wooden planks some of which have rotted in the ground and are only held together with the rope at the top of each plank, only a matter of time before someone has an accident there and drops into the rocky pit!
The hot house is interesting, again planting running wild and escaping from the inside to outdoors. Interesting to talk to a structural engineer who was visiting and reckoned the plants would wreck the structural integrity of the building within 2-3 years.
An interesting visit, sometimes for the wrong reasons, if you go take care and be careful on the overgrown sections, especially the paths and steps. A machete and a hard hat might be useful!
And if anyone working there reads this... Please get some of your safety issues sorted, if anyone falls down that very poorly protected hole or hurts themselves on your overgrown paths and steps then the damage to your reputation and bank balance could be big indeed
Had lunch today with the Price is Wight deal, anything off the menu so I had Jumbo Fishfinger Ciabatta with salad and chips followed by Lemon Meringue cheesecake with raspberry sorbet - delicious! Husband had IW Beefburger with chips and coleslaw then finished off with Sticky Toffee pudding and custard. It’s been many years since we visited The Cedars but found the staff and food excellent so will definitely return.
Superb. We have spent the best part of a week in The Met. From sitting outside in the sun drinking beers, cocktails and wines through to coffees ice creams and dinners. The food has been amazing. The variety really thoughtful and the flavours really enjoyable.
We have had 3 dinners here and they have all been good (see pictures) the deserts were great too.
Salted caramel espresso martinis and the Ales sitting outside people watching all day then at 6pm inside for dinner. The staff are amazing and helpful friendly chatty and knowledgable. A true gem down on the beach front. Really enjoyable inside and out. A must if down in Ventnor either for a quick drink or dinner. Oh true olives too.

Went with a coach party. Hotel was clean and staff were very attentive. Cleaning lady was very good. Only real fault was the food. Soup was lukewarm. So was breakfast. One night we had lasagne. It was awful. No taste . Looked like sick on our plates. Worst meal ever been served in hotel. Had abba tribute band and disco whilst we were there. Both very good
Lovely place for a catch up with my son. Food was fantastic, great choice and variety. The staff are also very polite and very attentive adding to the restaurant experience !! Thank you ! Can’t wait for our next visit !
Only stopped off for a quick drink but was a nice place and staff friendly. A couple of ales to choose from and one local. Would have liked to sit by the window but reserved for dining customers. Also you have to pay for parking on the sea front. I can imagine in the summer periods this would get very busy but was empty in March. I can see the appeal of the location on the sea front and is a beautiful setting. Overall though nice place.
