Great takeaway filled rolls and eccles cakes. Value for money, quality and excellent service. Can't go wrong. Try a cherry pie?

We decided to try Ryde Tandoori and wow, we were not disappointed. The food was extremely tasty and plentiful, and to be honest, this is one of the best curries I have had....ever. Great friendly service and reasonably priced. Will definitely be back.

Now called the Curry Leaf. We enjoy a takeaway a once or twice a month and decided to try somewhere we've not been before. The meal that we ordered for collection was ready on time - and after that it all went downhill. The poppodoms were soft and very stale. The butter naan was small and doughy. My husband chose the Curry Leaf Special described as a 'surf and turf delight'. For £14.50, he had a dry and tasteless dish with a small amount of shredded meat and some very small frozen prawns, definitely not king prawns as advertised. He only managed to eat half which was just as well because he felt quite ill afterwards. The chicken in my rogan was well cooked but there were only five pieces in the whole dish which was quite salty. In all, a very disappointing experience and a restaurant that we won't be frequenting again.

I had an hour or two to kill in Ryde, so I decided to visit the Royal Victoria Arcade. I was drawn in by the Bohemian vibe, but stopped in my tracks when I arrived at the doomed ceiling and it's Devine frescos. They are truly stunning and worth a look. There are two shops that share this naturally lit central space at the end of the Arcade. Victoria Lanes is a well curated, nostalgic collection of memorabilia and paraphernalia from those Rule Britannica colonial times. The second establishment made me reach for my Canon. AJ's Diner has the most authentic 50's décor that I have seen this side of Route 66 and North of the Dixy Highway. Spotlessly clean and sanitised, Buddy Holly on loud, I settled in to the best cooked Full English that I have had in ages. Super heated under the salamander, just like on the Dixy Highway, I can assure you that AJ's breakfast is in a league of it's own. Well worth a visit next time you're lucky enough to be in Ryde

I went to gracies in ryde today at just before 3pm afternoon for a tea and a cake, I had eaten my cake and drank my tea and it was 3-30 so asked for another cup of tea knowing they don't close till 4pm but was refused and offered a takeaway which I refused , I was talking to another gentleman at the time and was the reason I ordered another drink as he hadn't finneshed his , I find this totally unacceptable as there was 30 minutes to go before they closed , I put this down to laziness and wouldn't go again , I do got to other gracies and have never had service like this , considering how many places there are to drink and eat in ryde how can they afford to survive with that sort of attitude, anyway I Won't be going in there again as they come across as part timers. Just to mention it was a young man who refused my second cup of tea . I live in ryde and use gracies when going around the island but ryde, no I won't use again as they didn't appreciate my custom, I will tell friends about this to warn them before they go in what to expect. I have nothing but praise the other gracies I go to but not this one . Its a long review but I feel people need to know about places like this before they spend there money then be refused another drink when there30 minutes to go before they close.

Too bad of an experience with the gentlemen on the reception. Doesn’t have an hospitable nature at all. The tables were fully free and still we were told back to not sit and eat in. It’s really very disrespectful to say no to customers especially when the tables are free. The person on the reception really needs to learn some manners to talk politely. I am attaching the picture of the empty tables for reference (which he told was fully reserved). NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.

The food quality has gotten better over the years. But this vist was very good. The food was tasty and delicious. The staff was helpful. They can be short-staffed at busy times. Furthermore they also take lots of time to get your order ready. However food makes up for it. This place has since branded to Ryde Fried Chicken however the management, staff and food is the same.
