The best restaurants in Ryde North West Isle of Wight South East

Lucky to stumble across this place. It’s just lovely and quirky and the owners are the nicest.

Clean, very friendly, not too pricey. Great food, did not skimp on portions. I definitely recommend The Wonky Goat. Will be go back there.

Looking for somewhere to eat and use for our regular eat when we are on the island and in Ryde. This will not be the place unfortunately. It says on menu 1/4 pound chicken burger. It hardly covered the standard size burger bun. Not worth h the £5.90 they charge and that is it if you want chips or anything that’s extra. Most of staff friendly, one member not sure if new but no idea how to process our order. The quest is still on for a nice place to eat in Ryde with our dog.

We called for a light lunch & were met by two very pleasant members of staff. We ordered a pot of tea for two & decided to share a ploughman’s lunch & also a cream tea. The ploughman’s was just delicious & plenty for two, with fresh bread, ham, loads of cheese, ham, tomatoes, pickled onions & two chutney’s. We actually wrapped a portion of cheese up & took it with us, it was very tasty. The scones were freshly home made & very light, with butter, jam & fresh double cream. Again they were delicious. At just over £16 it was excellent value for money

This is the best value breakfast we’ve found with good hot food friendly staff and a comfortable atmosphere

My partner and I found Gladys May Cakery on Saturday morning while walking around Ryde we both had a sandwich and cake and a drink we would go back again very nice

Great venue with great staff. Friendly service as co-hosts for the 2024 Reggae & Soul Weekender. Food was superb.

Good selection of beer. Not very cold though. A very small pen outside to drink in.

We visited for a late lunch. The chicken burger I had was lovely, a great piece of chicken and more fries than I could manage. My partner enjoyed his hot dog too. The only disappointment was the online menu didn’t match the one in the establishment - I was looking forward to a raspberry milkshake which was no longer actually on the menu and the prices were more than we were expecting, although still fairly reasonable.

Love this restaurant. Starters and mains very generous but also very tasty. The service was perfectly timed by a lovely, friendly guy.(sorry, didn't get his name) Restaurant itself is very basic but don't let this put you off, the food is amazing, lucky to have this in ryde,we will be regulars.

I love going to the Black sheep with friends for a drink and a catch-up. The staff are impeccable with their friendliness and service. If we do eat it always has to be cheesy chip's 😋

Always good when it's not been in the cabinet for long. Fillet burger lots of lettuce, mayo and a drizzle of piri piri.

Lunch not a patch on years ago when the food was prepared and interesting.Wonderful terrines , cheese as an option for a supplement. Seems to be Brake Brothers standards now

Extremely tasty well cooked fresh food, thoroughly recommend, as good value, good atmosphere. Very friendly and efficient staff. Will definitely visit again.
