The best restaurants in Ryde North West Isle of Wight South East

We called for a light lunch & were met by two very pleasant members of staff. We ordered a pot of tea for two & decided to share a ploughman’s lunch & also a cream tea. The ploughman’s was just delicious & plenty for two, with fresh bread, ham, loads of cheese, ham, tomatoes, pickled onions & two chutney’s. We actually wrapped a portion of cheese up & took it with us, it was very tasty. The scones were freshly home made & very light, with butter, jam & fresh double cream. Again they were delicious. At just over £16 it was excellent value for money

My partner and I found Gladys May Cakery on Saturday morning while walking around Ryde we both had a sandwich and cake and a drink we would go back again very nice

10/10 cafe, amazing garden and great coffee. Hidden within the House of Zabre, this really is a secret cafe that you should visit

Warm,Cosy, comfortable and friendly place to come to eat and relax. Back ground music to suit all tastes. The food is exceptionally good quality and good value. Dont take my word for it, find out for yourself.

Really enjoyed our visit here yesterday. My husband and I both had a bagel which was really delicious. I had the chicken and avocado and it was really packed with filling, so tasty. The staff were friendly and welcoming, I would definitely return.

The 2 members of staff we saw greeted us with a smile and were welcoming. We were only staying for 1 drink and the bar manager was exceptional. She cleaned our table even though it seemed clean. Bar prices were less than expected for such a beautiful establishment. Attention to detail was 1st rate in the bar area. Sadly this level of cleanliness did not extend to the female toilets. If only the same attention to cleanliness displayed in the bar was extended to the toilets. Although we did not eat the food we saw looked beautiful and the 5☆ food hygiene rating is clear evidence of this. It is just a shame about the toilets.

Lovely place for a catch up with my son. Food was fantastic, great choice and variety. The staff are also very polite and very attentive adding to the restaurant experience !! Thank you ! Can’t wait for our next visit !

A good selection of food a little expensive but what isn’t these days

Looking for somewhere to eat and use for our regular eat when we are on the island and in Ryde. This will not be the place unfortunately. It says on menu 1/4 pound chicken burger. It hardly covered the standard size burger bun. Not worth h the £5.90 they charge and that is it if you want chips or anything that’s extra. Most of staff friendly, one member not sure if new but no idea how to process our order. The quest is still on for a nice place to eat in Ryde with our dog.

The hot chocolate was delicious, some can be watery this was perfect. Great range of produce here too, quirky decor and friendly staff.

‘Loaded’ rice was bad. Well, the cream was freezing cold and it destroyed the taste of the rice. So I think the normal rice might taste good.

Lunch not a patch on years ago when the food was prepared and interesting.Wonderful terrines , cheese as an option for a supplement. Seems to be Brake Brothers standards now

Me and a work colleague was very hungry after a long journey to the island , after trying a few restaurants, who all told us they was closing , the curry leaf opened late especially for us! The food was tasty and authentic and the level of service was excellent . When working in the IOW again , I would definitely revisit .
