10/10 cafe, amazing garden and great coffee. Hidden within the House of Zabre, this really is a secret cafe that you should visit

We had a lovely light lunch in this tranquil, secret courtyard garden in Ryde. The food, drinks and coffee were all good and the service excellent. We are always on the look out for quiet dog friendly venues and this place delivered.

This is a lovely little cafe and has a great garden at the back, we have had sandwiches, coffee and cake many times in the past but not sandwiches this year. Went there this afternoon and you order at the counter inside, then they bring everything out to you. I ordered a ham and tomato sandwich, a tuna and mayo sandwich, both on granary bread and 2 cappuccinos. It came to £30 😳 I questioned this and the waitress said the sandwiches are £12 each, I was quite shocked as I think thats expensive for a very average sandwich, which they were. The cappuccinos were a good size and nice and hot. The sandwiches had a nice lot of filling, accompanied by a tiny bit of “salad” and some plain tortillas. Very nice but absolutely not worth £12 per sandwich.

Looking for a place to have a coffee and cake and found this gem . Behind a dress shop this cafe has a wonderful garden to sit in with comfy chairs. The staff were very friendly and I had the lemon cake which was the best I’ve ever had! Definitely recommend

We popped over on the Hovercraft from southsea 18/4 for a few hours and found this little gem called the Secret Garden Cafe. The two ladies made us very welcome and took an interest in where we came from. My bacon sandwich was very tasty as was my wife's tuna. The staff are a credit to the cafe making the £75 crossing worth while.

A hidden gem. Walk through the dress shop and then through the cafe at the back and you are in a delightful garden. I have been twice and loved it on both occasions. The ploughmans is great value for money. Instead of having to choose between ham, cheese or pork pie you get all three and more than one cheese. On my second visit, I had the Mackerel pate which was delicious. The coffee is great as well.

Stopped for a cream tea which the wife enjoyed. Usual 2 scones provided with jam and clotted cream and a good pot of tea. They normally do Gluten Free cream tea but due to high demand had sold out of GF scones. They were however able to supply GF cheese scones so I had a savoury version of cream tea, 2 GF cheese scones, a tomato chutney and a cream cheese. Was very nice and would recommend.

Great food can get very loud at times with people talking over eating others being a small dining area.

I can't comment on the Rooms because we didn't stay overnight, we just met other business partners for a Christmas Lunch.....This is where it failed to deliver! Christmas lunch on the 'Specials Board' was either a Baguette with pigs in blankets and a salad or Turkey and Cranbury sauce which should have been called Cranbury Sauce with a few bits of Turkey. I didn't fancy paying £14 for this so had a cheeseburger & chips. My wife went for the Cranbury Baguette specifically asked for No Crabury (it was full of Cranbury). My cheeseburger was dry (well overheated in the microwave no doubt) and my cheese arrived 10 minutes after I'd started (a slab melted onto a plate). I also asked that the Brioch bun was seadless as i cant eat anything with seeds, it was covered in seeds. A colleagues burger was equally as bad though hers was served with the cheese at the same time so a small bonus. Everyone waited ages for the food and everyone was equally unimpressed with the menu choices and the quality of the food. Because we waited so long for the food I couldn't be bothered to ask for a seed free bun and my wife didn't want to ask for a Cranbury free Turkey Baguette and we just wanted to eat and get out of there. This was pre booked but not by us and it wouldn't be a choice venue, certainly won't be in the future. I don't like being negative but this is an honest review. We were looking forward to a Christmas dinner with all the trimmings, sadly this was the wrong place to go for a dinner.

Nice staff, reasonable price and we love a bit of cash preferred! Good doughnuts and hot chocolate perfect from when you come out the sea!
