Artisan Cocktail Bar & Grill in Isle of Wight

Great venue with great staff. Friendly service as co-hosts for the 2024 Reggae & Soul Weekender. Food was superb.

We were pleased to get a booking here on the last day of my holiday on the Island. I am sure it could have been an interesting experience, but despite a confirmed booking, the place was closed - no email to cancel our booking or notice in the window either. Date 10th September.- evening.

Excellent Sunday lunch, good service and nice environment. Pork Belly roast was a real treat.

Went here for a roast, hour and a half for food to come out (we had to go move our cars at one point as only parked in a short stay carpark) some of the food came out was cold. Low and behold within 6 hours over half of the group got food poisoning. Would not recommend for food.

Had a delicious melon cocktail and beer on tap. Service was a little slow - drinks sat on the bar for awhile and in the end just helped ourselves! Friendly staff. Toilets clean.

absolutely gorgeous place that serves amazing food and beautifully crafted drinks. im surprised at how cheap the place is for how great the quality is! staff are all so lovely and polite and attentive. 20/10 place, wouldve paid tenfold what they asked.

No begat mains. Had the vegan wings, paid extra for chips and slaw. Rubbish

Good size portions and the dirty fries with burnt ends were really tasty, but, and this could be a big problem for some, it says they are wheelchair friendly but the lavatory is down a flight of stairs!! These are not equitable or inclusive premises and should not suggest that they are.

A nice cosy place in Ryde, Isle of Wight where you can enjoy a sip of chilled beer with friends and family. Can’t comment on food as it ran out at the time we were inn. Recommended: Plan to come before 7 pm BST to enjoy happy hours as well as food.

The sandwiches were delicious (BLT and cheese and pickles)... And the crispy fries. Very good meal

Great all round. However I wasn't keen on the cleaner walked passed and waved a broom in my face and all the staff said was im sorry about that!!! Wasn't too impressed by that but at least I got an apology I suppose! Food was excellent 👌 😋 very gorgeous roast dinner.

Really enjoyed the Mixology master class, Jay was knowledgeable and gave the class at a good but relaxed pace. A fun afternoon, highly rate the watermelon margaritas 😋

A birthday lunch. A little slow.

Overall wasn't what i thought it would be like. Few things were incorrect after being ordered correctly. Cocktails were nice but had to wait an eternity to get them. Waited nearly an hour before they took our food order and had to be prompted twice to do that. Food overall wasnt anything special. Chicken burger was fatty, like a thigh had been used, when that wasnt mentioned on the menu. Steak sharer was dry and not much taste or depth to anything. If you are going just for cocktails then you will enjoy them but add food into the mix and it is a different experience. Won't be visiting again

Lovely atmosphere, great surroundings, friendly staff, excellent cocktails and food. We ordered 2 cocktails on happy hour and the quality of the cocktails was superb. The Cherry Smoked old fashioned was a great bit of theatre and tastes fantastic. We ordered a shared steak board - the steak was cooked to perfection and the whole board was excellent. Menu is somewhat limited but the steak board really is excellent. Staff very friendly and attentive. Well recommended.

Lovely food and drinks, warm atmosphere

The meals that a large group of us ate exceeded expectations. Thoroughly recommended.

A while back I went here for my mum and aunts birthday. The cocktails were lovely and the staff very friendly. We all had 2 courses. The starters were okay bit my aunt was unwell after the meal. For mains we all had the seafood pasta. It was awful. Hardly any seafood. It just tasted like pasta and cream. It was a very disappointing night. We had been here previously and had nice food. After complaining we were offered the opportunity to come back for cocktails and two courses as a replacement. Once again the cocktails were lovely and our waitress was very lovely. Our starters were all very nice. However, once again the mains were a let down. I had the steak board. The meat was stone cold. My mother's pork was Luke warm. I complained and were told our drinks bill would be discounted. But they tried to over charge us instead. Last time they also tried to over charge us too. Both times when we queried the bill they agreed they had got it wrong. I would be tempted to go back for cocktails, but would examine the bill closely. I don't think any of us would eat here again. Such a pity because before 3 or 4 months ago the food was nice.

Met friends for drinks. Good cocktail menu and friendly staff. The place was buzzing with some large groups. Music got progressively very loud and people shouting to be heard didn't help.

Good selection of quality cocktails 🍸 and wines with a good atmosphere especially on the weekends.

Great evening and a few lovely cocktails, staff were great and especially Scott who is a credit to the venue, so polite and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble and the way he spoke to all customers was a delight. Thoroughly recommend 👍

Great food and super service.Our booking was accepted online but they were already fully booked, however the manager squeezed us in and even gave us a free round of drinks. The food was amazing and the steak board is a must if you’re a meat lover, great value at £23.00.

Good food music is a little on the loud side

Nice place. Nice food. Friendly staff. Expensive and fairly slow service, although it was busy and I know places are struggling for cooking staff. All nice enough. £100+ for family of 4 - with drinks.

Possibly the most banal, slow serving, approximate place I've visited in Ryde. No cocktail was harmed in writing this review: I'll talk about the food. Don't get me wrong, the ambiance is well cured and the place looks nice. Nothing to complain there. The place decides to put on the menu some pub classics like fish and chips. Great, exactly what you'd expect in Ryde! As you can see form the picture, not only the cod was average, the chips were overcooked and rather dry. Additionally: no tartar sauce, slightly undercooked peas, total absence of salt, peeler, vinegar etc made this experience forgettable. The mussels were ok-ish, but the sauce they came with was overpowering compared to the rather bland taste of the mussels itself. Ah: we waited 13 minutes for our drinks. In a cocktail place that works as a pub. Good beer selection, at least. You'd be better off eating somewhere else. Maybe come here for cocktails. Maybe.

Nice food but a bit quiet 🤫. Very chilled out so could have spent a couple of hours with a beer unwinding.

Great place with cool decor and relaxed atmosphere. It wasn't too busy with a few tables to choose from. Tables were clean and the interior was well laid out. Staff were helpful, friendly and chatty. All of our group were happy with their meals, portions were good and the food well cooked and presented. My daughter said 'the lamb is so tender and even the cabbage tastes great!' The upstairs cocktail bar looked really cool and we'd love to have been able to try it out in the evening (but have the kids). Toilets were downstairs, clean and in good order. All in all very good and well recommended.

Great cocktails with nice presentation.

The sharer platter is absolutely divine - plenty of food for two people, maybe more! The steak was cooked to perfection, the pork belly bites wonderfully glazed and chicken wings were sublime. We had the Solero cocktail that tasted like a tropical island looks - fruity, breezy and summery. Fab service from the team, especially Neil!

Nice meal and drinks, friendly staff. One of our meals was wrong but they apologised and handled it well.

We ordered mussels and fish and chips. The portions were miniature. It was the smallest fish I have ever seen. The taste was fine buy it definitely isn't worth the price.

Best steak- generous portion, starter and dessert were spot on!!! I’m quite fussy when it comes to food, however I thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience when I was there. Lovely atmosphere! Hopefully my next visit will be as good if not better!

Such an amazing place and the manager Abi went nothing but above and beyond to try and help me tick off one of my targets for my bucket list..... Even though it didn't happen this time round I can say nothing but amazing things about this place. All staff were really friendly and moved us somewhere warmer when a space became available. Drinks were so scrumptious I had no problem to consume them 😋 Thank you for a great night!!

Absolutely amazing food (vegan burger) and the friendly waiter made the experience great. If we lived here we would be regulars!

Popped in for a quick lite bite. Was not disappointed and the service was very good. The decor is very artisan and it has a relaxed atmosphere to it. Some very unusual lights as well. Wish I had taken more photos. Ablutions were downstairs , very clean and tidy. I do not know if there is wheelchair access to these facilities. I would stop to eat and drink here again.

Excellent service and excellent food

We booked a cocktail masterclass for a friend's birthday and cannot recommend this enough. Absolutely fab evening, fab cocktails and the whole event hosted brilliantly by our mixologist Keiron.

Dreadful food. Went in for lunch had steak 🥩 sandwich where the meat was so tough and the bread was stale. Had to sent it back and ordered another of their club sandwich which to be honest the grill chicken tastes blunt and old serve with stale bread. Absolutely horrible! Never again will be back here again! . The customer service was good though.

Beautiful food here i had the veg tacos with a Gin & Tonic... great service... highly recommend.

The tapas style meal was delicious and the staff were really helpful and friendly.

The place was almost empty and we waited over an hour for our food to arrive. The vegan taco platter was atrocious it was simply a flatbread and some chilli beans, sweetcorn and garnish. The mussels however were amazing although the service was kind of rude barely looking us in the eye and walking off while speaking. It was decently priced except for the vegan tacos. Just not the best really :/

Its one of those places that, from the outside, don't look like a good food venue. But you would be wrong. The food was very good. A short menu of simple but well constructed and presented dishes, we enjoyed both the Duck and the Moules. Service is a little slow, but the site is clearly very popular, and rightly so. Top Tip: Try the Watermelon Margarita

We had a great experience here. The staff were awesome. It was busy and I think they were slightly understaffed, however they were attentive, knowledgable and great with our girls, going out of there way to keep them occupied. Unfortunately we needed to rush off and catch out ferry and they were really helpful in finding suitable takeaway boxes for us to take our food away in. Can't wait to have a return visit and have a cocktail or two.

My oh my, bottomless brunch £30 we figured out we paid 3.75 per dish and per drink. And not only is the food phenomenal (hash browns are the best I've ever had) the cocktails are well maid, refreshing and look stunning. Whether you're after a hearty start to your day or a middle class white girl looking to snap some amazing photos for the gram. Artisan is a must do. 5*

Lunch is very reasonably priced and the food was incredible (New Yorker sandwich is unreal), with great portions. The staff were friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend!

What a wonderful place! I booked a table for 3 as a surprise for a friend. The lady behind the bar (sorry didn't get name) was so helpful and didn't mind us making a bit of a mess!!!! The food was so delicious and there is a huge range of gluten free and dairy free dishes to. Will definitely be going there again.

We had pop in randomly, didn't expecting anything special however we had very nice experience. Food was delicious, nicely presented served by kind lady. Also dog had a treat. Well recommend!

Just enjoyed a fab Sunday roast lunch, herb crusted sirloin, roast potatoes and parsnips, cooked to perfection. If youre not looking for a roast there's a good choice on the menu. Great relaxed vibe, lovely atmosphere, very welcoming barman. Whats not to like... Would definitely recommend, we'll be back.

Their coffe is to die for.. the interior set up, even the restrooms are classy and have that heritage effect.. if in Ryde, must go, even if for a cuppa..(or a glass of wine, why not!)

Really cosy gin bar up stairs. Gives you the feeling that your sitting in a jazz bar in the 20's. Great for a night out with the girls and looking for something more upmarket than wetherspoons!

Very dissatisfied with the food as the Mackerel was swimming in oil,the chips were cold and tasteless and the burger was overly salty and came with a salad which was composed of a few leaves.We were shocked at the grime on the tables which appeared to be layers of spilt sugary drinks. The overall ambience was not helped on a very cold day at the end of October as the heating wasn't on and the lighting was dull. Stay clear of this place as it is overpriced with poor service.

Over priced, poor service. I am amazed if this place gets any repeat custom. Was charged over £20 to wait for over an hour for a breakfast you'd expect to be half the price. Things were missing from the plate. The "artisan" hash browns were obviously from McCain. Waifer thin bacon. At least at Wetherspoon they would be cheaper and let you have a refill of the tea or coffee.

The diamond of Ryde. Popped in on Saturday night. Great atmosphere and selection of drinks. They had a guy playing the guitar who was good also.

Jamie is awesome she makes people feel like there at home also she's a good laugh also the price of drinks are decent compared to Wolverhampton or West brom 100% better than spoons even the smells of spoons
