Cosy traditional pub. Shame Sandown seafront so rundown. Used to be a lovely resort

Loved this place and cannot recommend it enough. Food out of this world. Staff went above and beyond. Totally chilled out space. Brilliant

Great little spot! Food was nice, portions were a little small for what we ordered but overall was good value for money. The atmosphere was good and the staff were very welcoming. Drinks prices as well were a lot cheaper than what we were expecting which was a pleasant surprise. Good view out the windows of the sea as well, would definitely recommend!

Had Sunday roast this evening choice of meat was Beef there was lots of meat but it was beyond tough we couldn't chew it at all, the roast potatoes weren't actually roast they were deep fried , I will say the staff were lovely the restaurant is spotlessly clean the lady who served us had the common decency to offer ten pounds refund which we declined .

Stopped of by chance today with some friends and so glad we did. From the moment we walked in the staff were so friendly and welcoming in what is such a cosy bar. We all had lunch, I had the yorkie pudding burrito which was bloomin amazing, the potatoes with its were also super tasty, totally delicious. My friends both had the pie with home made chunky chips which again they both thought was absolutely delicious. As usual I always have room for desert and went for the toffee pudding and custard, the best thing for me was the amount of custard very generous and again very tasty no thimble amount like some places. So glad we stumbled across this bar while just visiting for lunch. Thank you to all the wonderful stuff and indeed the chef!

Had a lovely drink & nibbles with family. Such a lovely place inside, the staff were so friendly & efficient, the nachos were amazing & the atmosphere was relaxing. Can't wait to go back for another visit x

Delightful staff, deliciius food. We live in France and thé beef was the best we have ever had when eating out.

Cozy pub with good seating options, food was quite delicious. Order the specials in advance if possible. The lamb shank and beef hotpot were the best items on the menu Ordering is at the bar itself and I prefer it this way, you can pay for your food and drinks and then leave after you're done. Plenty of paid street parking available nearby.

Popped in yesterday, didn't intend on having food.but 2 rump steaks chips and peas for 20 pounds seemed a good deal...... and it was,fantastic steaks lovely chips,and peas you could eat.very friendly, clean and a great atmosphere. If the rest of the food is as good as our steaks, what a place.👍

We had the special Christmas , three course, dinner. Excellent, delicious. Also the singer, Olivia, was fantastic 👏

This is one of our local pub's. So far I've not tried the food I've just had drinks. They have a varied amount of local ales and spirits, mermaid spiced rum and ginger ale being my personal favourite. A really friendly place with a great view, especially on the balcony outside of the sea front and Sandown Pier, 'a whole day's fun in one' 😏

Friendly staff, very reasonably priced and a delicious lunch for four adults £52 including drinks. I’m sure they do well and deservedly so.

What a fantastic place, great people, great place, great food. These guys know what hospitality is and apply it to all the diversity in humanity with kindness and understanding. Would recommend more meals but I'm yet to try them :) Keep up the great work and wonderful approach.

Bleughhhh, not felt this sick for a long time, do not order the chicken bbq with bacon weird dish with thick cheese on top, and chips horrible aswell, never again

Another great place to eat in Sandown I had the small fish and chips with garden peas and homemade tartar sauce and it was very tasty my wife had the same apart from she had mushy peas, both were testy and just the right size.

Brilliant spot to take in the views of sandown bay. Best pint of Guinness on the island so far. Fantastic food and value. 2 steaks for £20 which tasted outstanding.

Spent a lovely few hours here having a drink and listening to live music. Lovely atmosphere. Even the dog enjoyed it 👍

Came here for lunch, staff were somewhat friendly and helpful. Food was okay, well priced but I can't recommend the onion rings. There was white powder in a line on the baby change which didn't look like baby powder. Tastfully decorated inside with a good bar and wide choice of drinks. Nice views out the window of the sea front and close to the pier and car park.

Just popped in for a drink this evening. Have been many times for live entertainment at weekends and quiz nights monday. Great staff and a friendly atmosphere, food is good value.

What a find this restaurant is. As a lifelong vegetarian I'm resigned that when I eat out the options will be limited so it was so so lovely to have such an extensive choice on the menu and it was delicious. The other members of my family, all meat eaters, were equally impressed with their meals. The staff were lovely too, the barman really knew his job and recommended some local ales which were as promised the best on the island. Added bonus totally dog friendly, will definitely visit again.

Thank you so much for a really lovely tasty Sunday roast and drinks, all at a really good price. The meat gravy and homemade yorkshire pudding were particularly tasty! The staff were all lovely and my children were made to feel welcomed. My youngest was given a really addictive game to play to keep him occupied whilst I was still eating and we all enjoyed having a go. Thanks again 😊

The food was pretty standard for a pub. Not bad. Could do with more variety the menu. Order at the bar. Service was a bit slow but I think it's the way the bar is laid out. Not the staff. Good portions.

Didn't eat here, just ad a drink, service was great, the pub was very quiet when we went In, will go again though

We're here on holiday and have been here twice, as the food is very good and tasty. The staff are very friendly and helpful, would highly recommend a visit.

Lovely welcoming place with beautiful views! Being a vegetarian I was sceptical of finding something suitable but was pleasantly surprised that they had a whole page of veg options. Service was prompt and food was quite tasty! There is something for everyone here!

Lovely staff (welcomed upon entry). Ordered a pizza, it wasn't very good so I wouldn't recommend this item. The service was not that bad but considering the atmosphere (not much people) it could've been better. Tried a chicken strip and it was great but the best item I had was the loaded skinny fries. Lovely amount of spice and if I do come back here, I'm ordering the skinny loaded fries. Also has a lovely view over Sandown Pier and the beach. Definitely recommend the fries and recommend the place overall. Try come when it's not busy.

Visited this afternoon. (07/11/22) Had a drink and beautiful, warm ciabatta bread and dipping oil - delicious! We likd an independent eatery, so looked at the menu for the evening and booked a table. I wanted the liver and onions, husband wanted the duck leg. The lady behind the bar was very apologetic, saying they didn't have those items. Both ordered steaks, with sides of mushrooms, onion rings and sauces.... turned out they were the BEST steaks we've ever had! Didn't need a steak knife, a spoon would have cut through them, they were SO tender! Onion rings were MASSIVE! Everything was delicious! Would thoroughly recommend this restaurant.

OK, spacious, outside terrace pleasant in good weather. Good choice on menu, reasonably priced. Interior was basic, like an old-fashioned cafe, food was very basic, albeit a reasonable quantity and presented ok. Staff were pleasant and welcoming, but all youngsters and lacked professionalism.

Friendly staff, well appointed opposite the pier. Good selection of drinks and comfortable seating with a great view overlooking the sea. Lovely outdoor deck for the good weather. Clean & tidy. Can't wait to return.

The staff were really nice and helpful. The food was good. It's less of a bar or restaurant, more of a seaside cafe that stays open later.

Best pub food anywhere. Always visit this pub and never disappointed. Service good too. Worth a trip to the Isle of Wight just to go here.

They have a quiz night every Monday and very enjoyable and entertaining whilst dining.
