Popped in here with our PriceisWight Voucher today. Cake was lovely, moist and a generous portion, cappuccino good quality. Attractive premises. Only reason for 3 stars was the cool reception from the staff serving. After already being turned away in December as the voucher wasn’t valid for use in that month, we were nearly turned away again as it was a Saturday, despite empty tables. We enjoyed the cakes and coffee but, definitely felt a lack of warmth from the staff while there. We appreciate this may have been our error as a Saturday, but, please remember that a new customer, could be a regular customer, the whole point of the voucher offer? So a warm welcome should be extended to all, paying and pre-paid.

We made our first visit to the Cakery yesterday and we weren't disappointed! The coffee and walnut cake was amazing. Considering the size of the slice, it was a real bargain. My daughter and I shared it and were both very full! The staff were lovely and the shop itself is a real treasure trove. We'll definitely be back!

Squeaky clean place decorated immaculately, and with an impeccably warm welcome! The cakes and tea are top-notch and made on the premises. A great place to watch the world go by, and even better it stays open well into tea-time right up until 5.30 - something of a rarity but a great delight... I have to confess the decor was a little busy for my taste, though I am sure it would be appealing to many. Also a little noisy with some kind of fan on as well as the radio - possibly because of all the baking activity underway. All in all a positive experience though, and I'm sure I will be back...

So happy that there is a place in Ryde that does vegan cake! I am egg free, my mum is vegan and my sister is gluten free so it’s so nice to have a place where we can all go and get something, and they all taste amazing you wouldn’t even know! Have been here many times since it opened and I love it, the staff are really friendly and it’s reasonably priced. Love that you can see cakes being made while you’re there too. Highly recommend!

Went in to order an 18th Birthday Cake. Impressed with the whole set up. Chocolates, gifts, unusual cards, together with delicious cakes to eat in with tea or coffee or take away.

Spotted this new place being advertised on Facebook stating they cater for ALL dietary needs which sparked an interest for me.I messaged them for confirmation that they sell gluten and dairy free cakes to which they replied they didn't.I suggested then that their statement was misleading and they simply deleted my comment and blocked me from their site !!!!Not exactly the way to win custom in their new venture !!!! Although they denied their statement was misleading I note that they altered it a few hours later. Whilst I appreciate they've only been open a few days I don't appreciate their appalling response -- for one moment I thought I'd found somewhere good to give my future custom to

Stopped for a cream tea which the wife enjoyed. Usual 2 scones provided with jam and clotted cream and a good pot of tea. They normally do Gluten Free cream tea but due to high demand had sold out of GF scones. They were however able to supply GF cheese scones so I had a savoury version of cream tea, 2 GF cheese scones, a tomato chutney and a cream cheese. Was very nice and would recommend.

A very peaceful place to stay, in the centre of Newport, conveniently located, close to the bus station and to restaurants. Charming interiors, with a lot of character. Spacious, comfortable and clean room. Breakfast is served, and freshly prepared after the order is made. Hostess is friendly and Staff polite. We will definitely stay there again!

Stopped here for tea and we're so glad we did. Loose leaf tea in a china tea pot (not one of those awful stainless steel ones that dribbles all over the table), a tea strainer, china cups and saucers and a china milk jug - this is how tea should be served. The Bakewell slice and chocolate cake were both delicious and the portions very generous. The friendly welcome and engaging staff added to the enjoyment. Looking forward to the next visit.
