Stopped for a cream tea which the wife enjoyed. Usual 2 scones provided with jam and clotted cream and a good pot of tea. They normally do Gluten Free cream tea but due to high demand had sold out of GF scones. They were however able to supply GF cheese scones so I had a savoury version of cream tea, 2 GF cheese scones, a tomato chutney and a cream cheese. Was very nice and would recommend.

Staff were lovely here and provided quick service, the food and drinks took less than 10 minutes to arrive. We had a coke float and a lemonade float which were lovely and we ordered the BBQ pulled pork baguette and panini for lunch which was also very tasty. Highly recommend this spot for a quick lunch or afternoon tea. Outside patio was beautiful and provided perfect shade from the sun.

We visited for lunch and are so glad we did. What an amazing experience. The owners are so friendly and attentive and the service was outstanding. The food was excellent and the cream tea outstanding and reasonably priced. We had a table in the bay window overlooking the beautiful garden which has many tables and umbrellas. A lovely property so clean, bright and well looked after in this special area of Old Shanklin. It was so good we detoured to return the next day.

Visited with a couple of friends, just after the season ended. We are not tea room connoisseurs, but have had quite a few in our time. This was a lovely calming experience. The gentleman behind the counter greeter us kindly and spoke local area whilst we were being served. The scones were nice and fresh, nice tea, was glad it wasn't cheap tea unlike other places. The pot gave you two and a half cups of tea. the environment was calming and clean. The server staff were very pleasant and attentive, despite the influx of people coming in from the torrent of rain that started to fall. Very happy we stumbled on this place in our walk up hill from the beach. Will be coming back on our next visit to the Isle of Wight.

Whilst enjoying our 'cake of the day' and coffees we looked at the rest of the menu. Our time left in Shanklin didn't permit to enjoy what seemed like good value cream teas and savoury things. So that's for next time. We sat in the leafy garden, though inside looked nicely decorated and comfortable. Friendly staff too. In short - recommended!

Nice to look at from the outside so went in and ordered crab baguette, sat down and all I could here was the woman preparing the food coughing and coughing, she then brought out the part baked baguette which they hadn't finished baking, so was insipid and raw margarine smeared on cutlery and plate, hardly any crab to be seen and salad wilted on the plate. I don't really like to knock small independent traders, but I wasn't overly impressed. We went in on a wet and miserable November day. There weren't many customers (perhaps 6 people in total), but we weren't made to feel very welcome by the guy behind the counter - perhaps it was a great summer and he could have done without the £20 we, with our well behaved two year old, spent on a light lunch. The toasted sandwiches were OK (regular sliced bread) and the scones were quite poor - I suspect they don't bake them fresh daily in low season, so maybe that wouldn't be the case in the summer. The decor was dreary on a rainy day - with circumstances (better food, service and whether) different, I'd probably have thought it quaint, but it just made the whole meal a bit more depressing. I was also a bit disappointed with the selection available. On the plus side, service was quick, the lady who brought our food was more engaging and the bacon baguettes that went to a different table looked quite good...

We stopped here for a cream tea because they have a garden where we could eat with the dog. We had mixed scones (one plain, one fruit) each plus a pot of tea. The scones were a HUGE disappointment because the dough had been flavoured with vanilla. Scones are supposed to have that lovely 'bready' taste and these were like eating a cake. This was the only cream tea I was allowing myself as I don't eat carbs so you can imagine how sad I was having chosen this place for my big treat! The tea, jam and Roddas clotted cream were all fine.

Stopped here for tea and we're so glad we did. Loose leaf tea in a china tea pot (not one of those awful stainless steel ones that dribbles all over the table), a tea strainer, china cups and saucers and a china milk jug - this is how tea should be served. The Bakewell slice and chocolate cake were both delicious and the portions very generous. The friendly welcome and engaging staff added to the enjoyment. Looking forward to the next visit.
