It's no longer there. Keep up!! Turned up to find it empty but redecorated. No idea what it will be replaced with.

We went to this lovely cafe every day of our visit. The cafe was very welcoming and the staff were lovely. My husband really enjoyed his big breakfast, and he said the bacon and black pudding was cooked perfect, which is very rare to find. I'm vegetarian but still found a lovely breakfast. The prices are very good as well. On our last day we ordered some sandwiches to go as well. They were lovely and I'm glad I didn't waste money on buying supermarket ones. When we return to ryde again, we're definitely going to go there again for breakfast.

When we came in, all the choices of tables were not cleaned so we had to sit in crumbs. 4 of us went up to order and the cashier man was lovely. 2 of our tables food came very quickly but the kitchen ended up making the order of the massive group that came in and ordered after us, first. This meant the 2 who got their food finished their meals and were still waiting a while for the other 2 of our meals to come. We all got the English breakfast which was nice. Overall, the food was good and the staff were friendly just it could be cleaner and more organised.

This is the worst service I have ever had the women who owns it is very rude so much so we walked out after asking if we could have a table cleaned, she was so rude asking in a very aggressive Manor why we had sat down in the first place if the table was dirty she went away got a cloth came back and was very rude and very aggressive again, she lost a lot of customers as a lot of people walked out after hearing her un-called for rant, i have been going to the Isle of Wight for almost 45 years and have never been spoken to like this ever and a day trip out with my wife and friends could of been ruined by this foul mouth women but luckily we found somewhere else much better a little way up the road which turned out to be just what we wanted rather than a greasy cold breakfast served by someone who clearly doesn’t like tourist/ day trippers in there

For a prospective customer, faded signage on a restaurant is not usually a good sign. Literally. The Coffee Pot is a local institution with a strong family vibe (note the lovingly scrawled height measurements on the wall) and it's wonderful for that, but the place is in real need of a spruce up. Apologies, but that's how I felt. However, when the food arrived it was carefully presented, generous and tasty. Perhaps the heart is not always on the outside. Best wishes all.

Came in for breakfast with my son. Menu looked nice so we both had a full english. However, it took 25 minutes for the food to come which was disappointing and my son had fried bread when he'd asked for toast.

After walking into Wetherspoons at the top of the High Street and then walking straight back out again due to not liking the atmosphere, we stumbled across this hidden gem a little bit further down the road. Instantly we felt welcomed and comfortable! The food was fresh and cooked perfectly and the staff were very friendly and helpful. This little Cafe is certainly worth a visit if you are in the area, we will be returning again for sure!

If you want a hearty full english breakfast, served with a friendly smile, then this is a good place to come. If you want modern, smart decor with a choice of avocado dishes and triple mocha latte, then try somewhere else. This is a good old fashioned, down to earth "caf" serving a good quality breakfast at a reasonable price with friendly and efficient service. 4 of us had breakfast here recently, entering with a level of apprehension but leaving with a smile and a full stomach ready for our walk to Cowes. Will happily visit again.

Faded Pepsi sign outside-charming 70s style interior that fills you with confidence.Friendly staff. Asked for egg flipped-can’t eat runny egg-Guess how did it come!!! Coffee absolutely disgusting-tastes like made in a percolator with Mellow Birds., Evrything else really lovely-nice bubba squeak too. Needs fine tuning work-I needed that coffee, but am afraid it would have had me trotting. Also has a very charming little old things section with good books for sale at 20p. .

This place is great: homey wooden benches and panelling, like eating in a cosy log cabin. Friendly staff, great prices and while the food takes a little while the breakfasts are the best in Ryde. I’m not usually a massive fan of a fry up but they make it so delicious somehow.! Yummy looking Victoria sponge on the counter when I visited, they do other food too (like stews) but I’ve not tried anything else.

Really friendly little place that let myself and friend build our own vegetarian breakfast. No veggie sausages, but yummy little bubble and squeak cakes made a fine substitute. Excellent value and delicious. As others have mentioned, there is a definite retro charm, reminiscent of beach front 80s cafes. Welcoming and unpretentious, wooden tables and benches and proper mugs of milky coffee. Would revisit.

I visited with a friend, and we had 2 mugs of tea and a cake each. It really was lovely. The service was splendid, and the atmosphere was warming. We didn't try the main menu but did see some of the dishes other people were enjoying and they did certainly look good. We'd certainly go back. Very welcoming!

If you want to know what life in England was like in the late 1970's and early 1980's check out this authentic cafe. If you were around in those times you are guaranteed nostalgia at this family run place. It has been in the same family from the late 1960s and has a menu untouched by culinary developments since about 1982. Complete with cardboard laminated menues. All the fixtures are genuine since those times and the family are friendly but not too friendly in an English kind of way. They have only one type of coffee (instant). If you are 40+ and want a memory of times gone by this place is well worth a visit.

The Isle of Wight has always been a great place to visit, often called Little England.Whilst working on the island for two days in Ryde, I made two trips into the Coffee Pot Café on Union St. It is very easy to find, you just walk up Union Street from the Esplanade and you will find this glorious café on the left. The coffee and tea are good, and the food is spectacular, I ate the breakfast they call “Jack the lad”. It was so fantastic, I had to return the next day to eat it again. All the ingredients are excellent, and they are cooked at the time of order, this makes the real difference. Nothing is cold, nothing is bad, it is all fantastic. Then you see the prices ! Wow, how do they do it ? this fantastic breakfast is only £5 ! now I regularly have to pay about 50% more on the mainland for food that just does not compare.Well done to everyone in the Coffee Pot Café in Ryde, not only are you very nice to strangers, but your food is fantastic. I will be back for sure.I took the photo of my "Jack the lad" breakfast on Wednesday the 29th July 2016, please take a look. You can always believe my reports because I used my real name and photograph.Richard Kaminski, London, England.

We were on our honeymoon in Ryde and I thought I'd treat the missis to a top notch fryup and we were not disappointed. We each had a 'jack the lad' breakfast minus beans and it was top notch. Only thing I would say is the service was a bit slow but in fairness we did arrive when a rush was on. It is like going into a film set of a proper 60's cafe - everything had an aged patina, it would benefit from some dayglo stars with offerings written in felt tip - a minor point.

Called by for Breakfast, which involved ordering at the counter then taking a seat. As the place was empty no problem at all, other than all the seats were of the 'bench type' and were both extremely hard to sit on, and had very limited space to move in. So much so that after a while sat there I couldn't wait to get up and go. The breakfast itself was 'okay', but the 'black pudding' was extremely salty and tasted somewhat stale, as did the 'bubble & squeak'. On a positive note the rest of the Breakfast and the service was okay, and it was all at a very reasonably price and relatively good value for money, for example the Coffee was £1 a mug, bearing in mind we’re talking basic Café standards. Unfortunately, all in all, especially with so much choice locally available, I would not be tempted to visit again.

Came in to see a friend and left with a warm contented feeling, the place is warm and cozy and very friendly, but spacious enough to not be overbearing. The food is excellent and it has to be the best burger on the island hands down, it’s huge, full of flavour and seriously tasty, highly recommend the village inn

One of the best pub Sunday lunches we've had in several years. The meat was succulent - and if you can't choose beef or port you can have half and half. The potatoes were crunchily roasted with soft interior. The Yorkshire puddings seemed a step above most pub versions being neither greasy nor, like so many places, perfect roundels straight from a freezer. There wasn't much green veg but the kale - normally not something I like - was salty and well prepared. Great with the beautifully prepared red cabbage. Big shared portion of cauliflower cheese included too, and - on request - extra gravy and really tangy horseradish. Frankly not much to criticise here and the desserts were brilliant too. We had heard someone say that the change of ownership a week or so back had caused a drop in standards but it's hard to believe that it was ever much better than this. Highly recommended.
