Fantastic range of delicious pasties & cakes. Can highly recommend the lamb & mint pasties & the caramel shortbread.

Whilst visiting the Newport bakery on the isle of wight in scarrott lane, I witnessed a male member of staff throw a table at a female member of staff as he did not want the table in the original place, this was uncalled for and not professional in front of customers I have not been back since, prefer graces bakery on Newport high street

The old favourites are here and locally bought in cakes. Generous and tasty. Friendly staff. Worth the calories!

The holy grail - the local delicacy of the Isle of Wight doughnut, available here! Welcoming staff, what better place to enjoy this wonderful product in the commercial heart of Ryde! Well worth being better-known..... an opportunity for a marketting campaign...? I will be back!

Excellent food, friendly service. What more could you ask for. Very welcoming and great choice of food for lunch. We’ll definitely be returning.

One of the best pub Sunday lunches we've had in several years. The meat was succulent - and if you can't choose beef or port you can have half and half. The potatoes were crunchily roasted with soft interior. The Yorkshire puddings seemed a step above most pub versions being neither greasy nor, like so many places, perfect roundels straight from a freezer. There wasn't much green veg but the kale - normally not something I like - was salty and well prepared. Great with the beautifully prepared red cabbage. Big shared portion of cauliflower cheese included too, and - on request - extra gravy and really tangy horseradish. Frankly not much to criticise here and the desserts were brilliant too. We had heard someone say that the change of ownership a week or so back had caused a drop in standards but it's hard to believe that it was ever much better than this. Highly recommended.

Came in to see a friend and left with a warm contented feeling, the place is warm and cozy and very friendly, but spacious enough to not be overbearing. The food is excellent and it has to be the best burger on the island hands down, it’s huge, full of flavour and seriously tasty, highly recommend the village inn

Called today what must have been the busiest day ever. Had to queue for ages but the coffee tea cakes and flapjack perfect. My reason for five stars were for the young lady behind the counter working alone and so hard (others working behind the scenes preparing and serving orders ) but she smiled and was so courteous she deserved a medal. Only downside at 2.30 running out of items such as scones bacon sandwiches etc but maybe they did not expect the number of customers . Well done
