It's a spoons. But the food is better than alot of the other ones.

One of only two spoons on the Isle of Wight. Pretty much your standard spoons with an upstairs eating area but I couldn't see any outside. The staff were lovely, the food wonderful and the Guinness was excellent.

Wetherspoons we're great today. Thoroughly enjoyed the time we spent there. The food was good and the beers were nice and chilled. The hot chocolate could've been hotter, but it still tasted good. We still enjoyed the meal and the atmosphere. Thanks.

A good, basic Spoons. Can be noisy, with a few people constantly talking without volume control -quieter upstairs. Staff nice and quick service. The Man in the Moon (Newport) has a more impressive interior. Not sure that there's much competition in Ryde? Very nice today, 21st of October. Happy Monday, two Shipyards £4.50!!!

It's a 'spoons! No complaints here. Food's good, plenty tables over 2 floors can get busy but always found a seat.

Always a welcoming place, I visit on a fairly regular basis, usually with my son, nice food and good service no complaints

Great staff and service. Ales are always plentiful, well managed and very reasonably priced. Food is in keeping with the budget.

Low end but wholly adequate and good value IOW hotel. Needs some tidying in places but an old building. Staff extremely helpful and friendly and are an asset. Bathroom facilities good.

Had just arrived on IoW and needed lunch. My sister and I both enjoyed our meal.

Right off the bus and cheap, service top,food lovely,had the American, nice half English and pancakes.Constructive criticism,had a cola,post mix syrup was running out,I know,I used to be a barcellarman.Was told it was alright,had been checked on opening the pub,by I believe the guvnor,who I was talking to,what can you say,just didn't drink it, disappointed,was very busy,but not good enough really,the reply,to this if any, don't bother mate,learn yer job, Ted Hornchurch, visiting for the scooter run

Went here for breakfast before getting the train to Shanklin and after the hovercraft ride from Southsea. Nice hot food, best Weatherspoon breakfast we’ve had.

Not one of wetherspoons best pubs. If I'm honest they are all cheap but I prefer the ones with character and history. Have been to much better and worse.

We all know that spoons are spoons… but… we had a good experience here. Sat upstairs, (moved tables due to one being pretty sticky and a bit grim) but next table good. Ordered food for 5 adults and 1 kid on the app… 3 of my kids need adult portions and it came to £42… can’t beat that for price! The drinks came within about 3 minutes and the food came within 10. All the food was nice, hot and the waiter was very friendly. Toilets were clean. It did everything we needed it to before we jumped on the ferry.

Best/cheapest Spoons on IOWmuch better than Newport Man in the moon. No kids running around uncontrolled by their parents & allowed to do so by Staff. Police ought to pay a visit & hopefully catch under aged brats ordering alcohol from the App.

1 Breakfast out of 3 was hot , same as the coffee , the steak night was warm, there where 6 of us 4 said the same, we sent them back to heat them , people say you get what you pay for but it still should be hot .

We thought we would pop into this Weatherspoons for a quick bite to eat. But that was a mistake. The first issue was no option but to sit at a dirty table, it wasn’t wiped the entire time we were there. Second issue was finding lipstick on my fresh glass of Pepsi, I wasn’t wearing any lipstick 🤢. This made me feel truly sick. I had to wait quite some time to get attention from the bar staff to get a fresh drink due to queues at the bar and lack of staff. I did get an apology once seen. Third issue was the time it took for our food to come out. Considering we ordered on the app it felt particularly slow. Forth issue was being virtually thrown our food once it came out, so much so it nearly fell off the plate. The staff member couldn’t have been less friendly or cared less. We couldn’t wait to leave this place and walk home (we are locals). We didn’t have high expectations but it fell way below what I consider acceptable.

Visited for a quick drink good atmosphere and not too crowded, service was quick and the staff were pleasant and friendly.

Great place. I love a spoons. Some of the food portions are a bit small.

Stopped off on our way to the hovercraft. The drinks came quickly. We ordered on their app. They came and it was nice and hot. Had the afternoon meal deal, it was very good value for money. The kids menu was hood as well. Toilets upstairs, and there were more seats and tables.

1st time been here got served pretty quick it's was a bit busy & lots of noise was going to have some food But was told there would be 45/50min wait we decided not to wait that long & just ended up having a cup tea & a cider

Staff not very friendly, and they looked as if they didn't want to be there, along wait for food, and when I finally got food, the burger was hard and dry the chips were just tasteless.

Place was crowded but very quick service. Congenial staff as well. The manager at the time was exceptional, chatty and very helpful.

Had a lunch in here today, food arrived hot and well presented. Very good value for money, just don’t expect top quality. Friendly staff and nice food.

Brilliant Wetherspoons! Incredibly fast service and the food was very good. Everything was delicious, and the service was second to none! We ordered drinks and meals on our phones. The drinks arrived within 2mins and the food was very quick! The staff were friendly. It had a great atmosphere for the Euro Semi Finals. Unfortunately, the only downside was the awful quality TV. Come on Wetherspoons! It was pretty poor.

Dropped in for the afternoon special and was disappointed with some of the "cooking". We had fish, chips and mushy peas and ham, egg and chips, both came with a drink as part of the offer. It appeared to be very good value, £9 each, but the execution left a lot to be desired. The chips were mushy and the mushy peas were tasteless. The fish was overcooked for my preference, but the batter was very good. The biggest gripe of all, why do these places think real ale should be served chilled to within an inch of its life, nasty. all in all, nothing really wrong that could not be put right, just check your food occasionally to ensure it is being cooked correctly.

As good as most Wetherspoons. Good cheap weekday meal deals with a beer after 2pm. Ryde on the Isle of Wight is a nice place to wander around.

I didn't eat so haven't given any stars for something I didn't test out so to speak. I went in during a very busy time downstairs was full, but didn't have to wait to be served. There was plenty of room upstairs, so if you glance in and it looks full chances are there's room upstairs. It also has a lift.

Definitely the best Wetherspoons. Even went on the bus just for Wetherspoons and the bus stops immediately outside. Food served hot every time.

One of the best for service and food - despite some reviews being poor, our experience was great. On arrival it was packed out but found a table upstairs, customers were quite loud, but expected when so busy. Placed order, collected drinks - I timed food arrival from the time I got back to my table -7 minutes! Food was good, a beef madras curry one of the best we had at a JDW. During the time I was ordering - the table had been wiped down, I noticed a blonde young lady (dragonfly tattoo?) doing a very thorough clean up job at used tables, wiping menus and keeping condiments tidy and hygenic. We had to comment on this as it’s pretty unusual to see such attention to cleaning tables. All staff working in serving area doing a great job, wish they were as attentive at my regular Spoons!- staff a credit to this busy branch- Thanks Guys.

service was really fast, friendly staff, cheap food and drinks! a double au vodka here is only £3.85, which is over a quid cheaper than the next town, Newport. i had a korean style burger here as well with onion rings, which was under £10, and filled a spot nicely!

Great wetherspoons on the Isle of wight. Managed to get there for Monday club so cheap drink. Food was mediocre but to be expected from a wetherspoons but the guinness was lovely!

Excellent service friendly staff

I only go in this place for a couple of drinks, I never eat out, nice people behind the bar but sometimes I to have remind them a pint is pint not froth on the pint. The toilets stink not cleaned properly, so if any staff reading my comment, Please clean the toilets properly.

Even a good weatherspoons is only worth around a 3star review, but this was not a good one at all so it gets a 1, I understand before it was a pub it was a different business that burnt to the ground, maybe that would be best for this pub. You used to accept the quality and urine soaked floors because it was cheap, but it's no longer cheap enough to accept this.

Breakfast very good, quite lively and friendly

Ordered vegan breakfast, it was missing the hash browns and they put the butter packets on my plate rather than the sunflower alternative. When someone walked past and asked if everything is okay, I said no but they already were walking away before I answered.

Anyone that enjoys the "spoons" experience should check this out. Like other branches, they offer the "freedom breakfast" so I can have a gluten free option without fuss and the usual great value. I have been here on many occasions. Staff always helpful and efficient. Breakfast is definitely cooked better here than other "spoons" that I have visited on the island. For those of you that have not ventured inside a wetherspoons ....this is a good one to visit for first timers. Upstairs is sometimes a little quieter so worth going up there before selecting your table! Update:- Still good as gold.

We, 4 x adults and 3 x young children visited for a cooked breakfast, the place is quite large with plenty of seating over 2 floors, the staff were very friendly, giving the place was very busy (mid morning weekday). The food was excellent and plentiful, we all had a fry up!, and all plates were cleared! Very good value for money and if I were in the area I would definitely return.

The disabled toilet was disgusting, it had urine or water all over the floor ,and had just been signed as clean. The staff were coughing,putting hands over hair and face and sneezing and not washing hands before serving customers. There was also drink up the wall and what looked like sauce up the seats .when leaving you were greeted by people smoking and blowing smoke in your face .we won't be going back.

Lovely place. Would be nice if did smaller portions option in evening to save wasting food.

Awful experience with the security staff outside ... the taller leaner doorman on the front tonight (29/3/24) was very aggressive towards me and made me feel very uncomfortable for no apparent reason. I was waiting for my friend to come in and he shouted step aside repeatedly and then said Do you have a problem....? Do you have a f***ing problem? I was just stood waiting for my friend and I am a regular to the pub. I find it ironic that the security is there to make you feel safe but they did quite the opposite. On my way out I mentioned to the man in question that he made me feel very uncomfortable and his reply was you and your friend are barred! Don't come here again.... very disappointed with this situation tonight... I did report it to the manager but feel it won't go any further. I asked for the name of the security company but the manager said he doesn't know which is strange. I heard other customers complaining about the aggressive doorman tonight too, I hope something is done about this. Those doorman should not be in employment as they are not equipped to carry out their job role in a professional manner.... you will lose many customers this way. As the manager of a popular seaside restaurant in Ryde I hope these men never come by our way as they will be refused service on arrival. Very disturbing behaviour indeed!!!

I am a single male and felt very uncomfortable during a recent midweek evening visit. I sat in one of the booths upstairs. In the booth next to me were two “giggling girls” who for some reason kept leaning over the booths in my direction and laughing. I overheard them admitting to be underage and were planning on going onto another venue in town which was “free entry before 10pm”. The whole experience was very uncomfortable for me. There are lots of posters around the pub for “I am Angela” but what about men??

Food was lovely the Pepsi was very waterey

One of the better Wetherspoons offering the usual food and drinks choices. Our visit during their beer festival, provided a pretty good choice of real ales. Will visit again when next on the island. There is plenty of upstairs seating too.

I visited this afternoon for a drink whilst exploring the town. I ordered a pint of guest ale and a flavoured gin and tonic. The bar person poured the gin into a measure right to the brim, as she should, it is an exact measure, the clue is in the name, a measure. I then saw her pour a little of the gin from the measure into a clean glass and pour the remainder into the glass that was served to me with ice. I asked why she had done that, she replied that she had overfilled the measure, I tried to explain about the measure, she didn’t agree. The lady manager was nearby, when I pointed out what had happened, the reply was “She is new, I didn’t see anything” The manager poured the small amount of gin in the second glass into the glass served to me. All this made me think, are staff told not to fill the measure to the top as is required BY LAW.

Bit boisy but otherwise very pleasant. Good breakfast and free coffee refills.

There was some sort of deal today with the curry and my wife and I had chicken tikka masala with all the trimmings, plus a pint of truly excellent Adnams broadside for under £15!!!!! When you compare that to the £6.40 I was charged for a mediocre pint of lager on a certain big red boat it's a massive bargain.

Friendly, nice and warm. Very cheap beer. Food menu is quite extensive and very good value. People are very friendly. Always good choice of ales and bottles

Although it’s in Ryde , Isle of Wight, it’s a standard Wetherspoons establishment, sticky tables, iffy washed glasses etc. But…..cheap beer and wine 😀

After not finishing work till 9.30 normally pop in spoons with friends. Takes ages to get served from the miserable looking staff who just love to run around doing nothing. Food is cold atmosphere is colder watching fights and kids with knifes threatening to kill each other. Pub always closing early. Nasty dirty seats. Won't be a pub I would recommend to anyone .

You know what to expect at Wetherspoons, but this wasn’t it! Breakfast took 30 mins to come out in a half empty restaurant, normally the service of this brand is quick and efficient. Eggs were stone cold and congealed, sent them back. Second effort (now over 40 mins) was better. Both breakfast attempts we were offered came with only one set of cutlery and first breakfast came with dry toast and no butter! Woman behind the bar was snappy and unhelpful when we asked for another knife and fork. The staff here are truly awful; they could not care any less! The entire place needs a deep clean or a refurbishment and some Staff need retraining/ replacing. We know it isn’t the Ritz and that everything is geared to a price, but this was poor by any standards. Doubt Sir Tim cares one way or the other, but please get a grip!

The place was full of people and the staff members was lovely and helpful. The only downfall is the breakfast it was really dry especially the bacon but The pancake where really good. I ordered a monha from the menu but they didn't have it.

This had got to be the second-best Wetherspoons I have been in, The food was cooked AMAZINGLY!

Ideal for a bite to eat with a Drink. Well used pub great prices on drinks and food quality good. Always busy but well catered for in staff who were polite and efficient. Don't expect the Ritz but leave feeling satisfied.

I loved this place so much, so tasty foods, cheerful atmosphere and kindly service.
