The best restaurants in Gosport South East

My second visit to The Lightship and it was just as fabulous as the first time. It's such a unique dining experience and as you step onto the old ship the space is really well thought out, the interior design is beautiful. We enjoyed Duck Bon Bons, Feta Parcels, Pork and Rib Eye followed by Espresso Martinis and dessert. Service was attentive and friendly, thankfully we were blessed with a beautiful evening to sit on deck too. Can't wait to go back again next summer.

Ordered food to be delivered at 5.45pm, food arrived at 5pm. Chips were all greasy and the lamb was cold and tasted horrible.

Vile lady on the phone. Cancelled order over a hour after I had placed it and claimed I had ordered from them before and requested a refund. I have never ordered from them!!! Tried to explain to them that I have never placed an order, the little girl on the phone was argumentative, rude, and super unprofessional. After reading previous reviews, I am glad that the order was cancelled because I would prefer not to experience food poisoning from raw chicken cooked by inadequate chefs, so in a way thank you for cancelling my order so I didn’t that’s to experience your raw disgusting food.

Good fod clean place nice to be there and kids are enjoyed. The staff they are smiling yes we really enjoyed

The new cottage loaf have been doing a marvellous job delivering their delicious bread etc during the pandemic, remember to support local businesses!!

Food was cold and chips were dry and very hard. Part of my order was also missing which I paid for. Never eating from here again

If you like the old style pub with lots of friendly faces then this is the place. Great dart boards and a nice smoking area... landlord and landlady are very helpfull for surrounding areas .... great place for a cheeky pint before going out for the night.

Always hot food, always nice friendly staff.

So sad this pub is closing for good on Sunday 28/4/24 When it's aways busy....

Excellent Sunday lunch beef roast with all the trimmings. Meal was freshly cooked, delicious and very filling. Staff were attentive and friendly. Good atmosphere.

I recently visited Brother’s Kabab high-street gosport tried their Chicken Shish, and I must say, it was a delightful experience! The chicken was perfectly marinated, tender, and juicy, with a smoky flavor that was just right. The skewers were grilled to perfection, leaving a nice char on the outside while keeping the inside moist and flavorful. The portion size was generous, and it came with a side of fresh salad, warm pita bread, and a delicious garlic sauce that complemented the dish well. The presentation was simple yet appetizing, and the service was friendly and efficient. The only minor critique I have is that the seasoning could have been a tad more robust for my personal taste, but it was still very enjoyable overall. The ambiance of the place was cozy and inviting, making it a great spot for a casual meal. I’d definitely recommend their Chicken Shish to anyone looking for a tasty and satisfying kabab experience. Poor communication from the restaurant regarding delivery being late.

I recently visited KFC and I was pleasantly surprised by the experience. The restaurant was clean, well-organized, and had a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were friendly, efficient, and made sure my order was prepared quickly and accurately. The food was fresh, hot, and exactly what you’d expect from KFC crispy, flavourful chicken with just the right amount of seasoning. The fries were perfectly cooked, and the sides were well-portioned. Despite being a busy location, the service was smooth, and the staff handled the crowd well. Overall, if you’re in Gosport and craving KFC, this branch is a great choice. Whether you’re dining in or grabbing a takeaway, you can expect good food and a hassle-free experience. I’ll definitely be returning!

Not a standalone incident, but this was my last meal from them: Missing drink. Wrong cookie. Waffle fries were inedible rubber (an extra quid and they were straight in the bin). And the sub itself wasn't the best (I've never known bbq sauce to be so watery). So they didn't really get a single thing in the whole meal deal correct, which is almost impressive if you really think about it. And this is also coming from someone with a pretty low bar for food (hence the subway).
