I don't usually leave reviews but praise where praise is due. I was visiting with a few others while attending a celebrant event and got to say, we had a lovely lunch and top service from Serena the waitress (think that was her name!).

A decent sized spoons on the Gosport high street. The usual setup with a bar down the left hand side and a variety of seating options throughout. There is a nice looking beer garden out the back via a little twisting alleyway. The staff were wonderful and I had a nice chat with a few of the locals. The Guinness was excellent

Usually like a Weatherspoons, however this place was dirty and passing the kitchen with the door open put me off ordering any food. Carpets strewn with rubbish that could have been picked up by staff.

I wasn't in there for long enough but the few minutes I spent there was good...

Nice spoons standard as all spoons service is always quick and the staff are pleasant

Can't knock it, .... food good and fresh... drinks of good quality and excellently priced. Lot of other places now charging a massive amount more but actually don't offer a better service.

Absolutely love this place, been a fave of mine for years. Served quickly, good value for money. I must say the team are fab- new lovely lady Sarah is a great addition to the team, credit to management! Please make sure you look after her as she made our day. Thanks to our fave star ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Normal spoons pub ...clean cheap no trouble good service

Where else in the UK can you get 2x delicious meals (Curry and rice with 2x poppadoms and Nan bread) and FIVE drinks for £29.52. Ordering through the app means that within minutes your drinks arrive followed soon after by your food. It's clean, cosy and suitable for everyone. Only bad thing about spoons is they are not dog friendly. I go to the Star in Gosport once a week and look forward to delicious food, cheap beer and a friendly atmosphere and have never been disappointed.

Reasonable food good price. The staff are doing a good job BUT there aren't enough of them

I had quite a snobbish and negative opinion of Wetherspoons pubs as someone thats lived outside the UK for eight years, however, this place surprised me a lot. It was still full of old drunks and beer flavoured burps but the food and coffee was great. I had a cheese burger, chips and unlimited machine coffee for about £6. I was really surprised by the taste and service by the lovely girls behind the bar. I’ll definitely return!

So I ordered an Archers and Lemonade as I usually do, I come in quite often. I’m in my work uniform. Nope can’t have it as I don’t have ID also…I’m also nearly 30 they don’t usually ask for ID. Staff don’t always follow policy.

Not too packed. Service great. All day brunch was spot on. Dog's not allowed,even outside?!

Last orders called. I took the order from my company went to the bar to be refused service, citing last orders called. They just couldn't be bothered serving. I suppose I'd expect nothing less..

Worst service ever. Stand at the bar for 10 minutes only to be ignored when I respond to ‘who’s next’ while people who arrived after me are served.

Cold plates result in cold food, when you can actually order it in the 1st place! Sat there for 30mins this morning trying to order breakfast, app failed to work, I approached a member of staff who looked like a manager and asked if it was working he said it was my phone! Nothing wrong with my phones internet as I'm posting this sat in your pub !!! In summary missed breakfast and had to order brunch, staff couldn't seem less interested in helping!

Only stopped in for a quick drink but staff wearing bodycams. Necessary? Never seen that anywhere else 😅

Usually busy. Good atmosphere. Quick service. Good for snacks and meals. Good value.

Weatherspoons has always been one of my favourites for years and 100% sure they will be around for many years to come! Great menu deals for families etc Meal Drink deal really worth it !

Typical Spoons pub, it's like the same people are bussed in from other Spoons pubs. Why do smokers have to be so close to the entrance! Disappointed that dogs not allowed on the on street area which after all is a council controlled street. I was allowed to finish my drink so thank you manager for that.

Went on a tuesday night for a meal, it turned out this was Steak Night. It turned out to be Mistake Night. I ordered a Sirloin steak, rare, with all the options. No complaints about the chips, mushroom, peas, etc. but the sauce was cold, The steak had two extremely tough pieces of tissue running through it. These were so tough I couldn't cut through them with the steak knife. These should have been trimmed out before cooking. I was left trying to cut out the edible meat from between the two lines. I think I managed to eat about half the steak. The meal was cheap, but with proper butchery could have been good. As it was, I will not return and can not recommend as this was the worse steak I have ever had.

Weatherspoons was always generaly good value,but it's ruined by scrimping on sizes,got a avocado muffin,it was so small and the avocado was just put on so thinly and the muffin was so thin and small it looked ridiculous on the plate,it's certainly not worth over £4,even with a drink,I won't be buying again,rip off!

Good beer at a very reasonable price, and although I didn't have food, what i saw looked OK and also at good prices

The price is reasonable and the portion size is satisfactory.

We had lunch here last week. Food and service were very much as we have come to expect from Wetherspoons. Excellent choice of menu, although ordering on the app can sometimes be "clunky". Tasty food, good value and prompt service.

Food was all right. Lots of swearing from the customers so if you don't want to hear bad language don't go in. Ticks the other wetherspoons boxes. It's mostly clean and lavatories are good.

Jesus christ , they cannot pour a pint of guinness in this pub , no head on pint no peak either ffs , it's not hard if you drink guinnes you will know what I mean , perks of employing kids

It's a standard Wetherspoons offer - cheap, quick and variable quality but decent value A bit scruffy inside but not bad It is what it is, and is pitched at the low end of the market so, I've no complaints or surprises It was fine, nothing wrong with it, but it's not gourmet

Came in for breakfast and wanted to change my egg for scrambled and the waitress Fi was very rude and refused to change it. It only takes 2 minutes to make scrambled egg like what’s the hardship in that. Should never have spoken to me like I was piece of dirt I am very disappointed and will be avoiding this place in the future!

I got breakfast had to wait for 1 hour bye the time I got the food I was freezing cold the eggs were like rubber and they didn’t give us any bacon the pancakes were really small

Cheap and cheerful and you know what you are getting with Wetherspoons. But don't get the lemon chargrilled chicken. It's gross! 🤢

My friend & I visited for the first time & the manager & staff were very welcoming & also found the cost of drink to be much cheaper than on the Isle of Wight as was the case in Fareham,NorthEnd & Southsea. Can someone please explain why?

Excellent curry and chips and a bottomless coffee for less than a tenner! Free water, capable, busy staff, I'm a regular here. It's great value for money.

The manager of the place seems to attack and bully people constantly moaning and even trying to use security to intimidate patrons. In my local, this would never happen. I do not recommend coming here if the main manager is in as it seems she hates her job and it shows.

Have eaten there before but on this occasion just popped in for a pint.Like all Spoons pubs extremely good value for money.

The food was really not worth it. It tastes like it is microwaved. Unfortunately, we were very hungry when we went to Gosport so this seemed to be the only option.

I was born in Gosport and recently returned to care for my elderly relatives about y months ago I was accused by a bar staff member of swearing at her .... It was the other way round .... Turns out I was banned on the basis of a lie .... I agree with previous contributers the Gosport pub have staff who are rude, flippent and then act as judge and jury when it is they who are in the wrong ..... Luckily I don't have to put up with this as I'm not as financially strapped as many of the other customers appear to be .... There is something wrong with the attitude of staff at wetherspoon Gosport...... I would urge those visitors who don't have to drink there because of financial difficulties to give this sad establishment a wide berth ...... And the 2 times ive had breakfast there its been cold and you dont dare ask for another as you cant trust what might be served

This is by far to be the most deprived weatherspoons I have yet to discover. I mean gosport has a reputation, but my god what a dump. Staff mirror image the dump. You clearly see the hate in there jobs, rude, self centred with zero customer service skills, must be the poor pay and the pikey atmosphere. Let’s be honest the only people who will defend this place, are the local poverty that surrounds it. If you feel worthless, come to this place. You’ll skip home feeling, I’m not so bad after all 👍

Visited here on a number if occasions and only once had a disappointing meal, the management were right on it and resolved the issue. Friday nights can be rather loud...

Breakfast was ok ordered on the app 2 portions off black pudding got 4 as said I ordered 2 portions for each meal .service for drinks was slow

Terrible size portion of scampi 4 pieces chips and mushy peas including alcoholic drink cost 9.01 it does say 4 whitby scampi on menu but still rubbish value. I love scampi but weatherspoons rip off drinks are still a good price though but your food portions crap.

Tables left dirty and not cleared outside people smoking at tables today at gosport needs more staff and proper management

Staff were rude and totally ignored customers at the bar apart from the ones they knew. Especially the staff member with pink hair..

Slightly run-down, but the food tastes nice and comes quick. Can't complain.

Slightly rougher end of the Spoons chain, the air conditioning was on the cold side and the ladies loo was closed for maintenance. I'm sure it's open again by now. It's Wetherspoon so the food and drink are excellent value allowing all to go out for a drink when they want.

Ok during the daytime, but avoid early evening at weekends if you don't want to be surrounded by kids getting drunk before going somewhere more expensive like Portsmouth night clubs. It's definitely a 'bargain basement' Wetherspoon but very good value for money if you just want refreshment. They do have a nice garden at the back and outside seating at the front.

Staff rushed off their feet, not enough of them! Took ages to clear the table. Not particularly clean. Food good value for money. Not dog friendly.

We didn't eat there but food looked good there were a few people waiting. The staff were friendly pretty quick to serve me

Cask ales, good selection, glass tankards on request, Ale was a bit cloudy but offered a different ale .

Been waiting for my desert for 1 hour, 15 minutes and counting. Asked staff and they said they'll be back in 2 secs and they haven't returned. Mates left 30 mins ago. Giving up now.

We sat outside the pub yesterday for over an hour with the 2 dogs outside the boundary area for allowing dogs outside this pub. Today the staff refused to serve us even though the manager saw us yesterday asked for his name so I could write to Weatherspoon head office and he refused to give his name. All we got was him walking away from us even though we did explain the dogs where the other side of the boundary area on the public walkway.

We ordered eggs benedict and mushroom eggs benedict. Both of them were hard boiled. Left disappointed.

If i could leave less i would. We put empty shots in a pitcher glass (rubbish). Bare in mind we spent over 100 pound while we was there. To then be accused of drinking our own drinks. And then get banned from other clubs. When challaned when said about it and told it was up to weatherspoons to then obviously get a jobs worth who thinks his job is more of seniorty role than that of a doorman!!! He told us it was up to the other club but wouldn't radio through that information as we left.**voluntarily.. you are a doorman. You are not security. You are not police.. you take your job to seriously.. absolute joke of a place. Staff need to take a step back and realise what there job role is... #deadendjob

My friend had a valid ID wouldn’t let her in ,man on the door wouldn’t let her in because she didn’t have social media , just wanted to look at instagram he was 65 suspicious if you ask me

Recently had a some Halloumi Fries which were so good! But the newest menu items 'Katsu Curry' was delicious. Highly recommend it!

Decent pub. Clean and friendly. Its very busy on Saturday night. It's cheap and cheerful.

The service was rubbish from the two bar bar staff one was called Chloe not sure what the other one as called but was total disrespectful from her was not asked for won’t be coming here again

As Wetherspoon's go...this one Wins! ......my award for the worst Wetherspoon's ever..... It used to be a very typical Wetherspoon's. But now I'm thinking the staff have evolved into a new breed of employee that quite frankly don't give a thought about a once good (ish) brand. On my last visit (by that I mean the last time I'm going there) it was a shambles Staff stood about talking to their customer mates whilst tables were uncleared. Incomplete orders. Dried and cold food and rude staff. And to think they're closing perfectly good Wetherspoon's is a shame.
