The Cottage Loaf in Gosport

The new cottage loaf have been doing a marvellous job delivering their delicious bread etc during the pandemic, remember to support local businesses!!

Fresh cream, fruity jam and soft doughnut - just the best. I only wish I didn't live so far away, that these are a treat when I visit friends in the area. On second thoughts it's probably for the best as I'd have them every day!

Cottage loaf used to make THE BEST hot cross buns in the South with a special blend of spices. I haven't visited in a while but thought I'd treat the family to some so brought 4 today. What a disappointment! No spices just a bland bun with a laughable amount of fruit, look at the photo! I'm all for supporting local business but could have brought cheaper, nicer ones in co-op opposite. Such a shame, please use your old recipe again.

What has happened to The Cottage loaf, the women in the shop are so rude and miserable, I don’t know who is running the place now Steve and Tracy retired but I for sure won’t be returning which is a shame as the products are great.

Everything is home made their bread is deliciously fresh there is a Hugh variety of breads to choose friendly . Cakes look very appetising but I haven’t tried them yet.

Been a couple of years since last visit but remembered the fresh bread and queue of customers. Not sure what’s happened since then but except for one occupied table outside we were the only customers this time. The two staff we encountered seemed to have their minds elsewhere as it took a while to get served. Selected a loaf to take home plus 4 of “the worlds best” hot cross buns (£1.40 for 4) - see my pic to view advertising board. Back home the four of us decided to put them to the test and to be frank our overall verdict was “I don’t think so” but perhaps the test was tainted by me finding a strand of hair in my bun :-(. Overall a disappointing experience.

I went in there today .the lady behind counter.she wore glasses was so rude and abrupt. Not a smile please or thankyou.will stick to the shop in gosport .shame as shop was lovely

The food in here is delicious, sadly most of the staff are rude and unfriendly- please, thanks and goodbye wouldn’t go amiss.

Still comforting to have a good Local baker in Lee Good bread , of course,but their Lardy cake and Cornish pasties are also very good

Use the cottage Loaf as much as possible always a good selection of breads and there specials are excellent, and there made to order rolls Cakes etc etc are just wonderful. Go on treat your self !!

Nice food, over priced, staff can be rude, over charge almost every time I go in, one time I was given change for £20 when I only gave £5. Lee is only a small place with a lot of old people it is wrong of you as a company to steel off them. like I said lee is a small place maybe the owner should move on and let someone else take over who will provide a better service. I had to give u one star as it wouldn't let me post.

Poor quality food sold at an expensive price. I took my chicken roll back because the chicken was more like tinned spam then chicken. on taking the roll back I was met with angry, rude staff which was rather unnecessary and quite embarrassing. I certainly won't be going back and will be recommending to friends and family to use other bakeries. Word and Mouth is a great thing.

Best to use the bakery next door, staff are unfriendly, rude and ignorant, cakes are mediocre at best.

they have different kinds of sandwiches chicken and mushrooms eggs cheese and salad beef and vegetables pizza sausages and they have lots of pastries such as bread cakes biscuits cheesecake The staff are lovely and helpful

I visit the bakery most days and I've come to notice that the weekday staff are the most miserable bunch of people I've ever come across, the weekend staff are the loveliest group of people I've ever been served by the weekday staff need to get their act together otherwise I will not be returning. The food is nice though

We live locally & the items we buy mostly are their wonderful fresh cream cakes. It is so easy to pop to the High Street for them if we have visitors arriving & we often treat ourselves to some sneaky ones for tea.

Live in village and always use for bread etc. but often stop for a cuppa, sandwich and the mandatory cake - honestly this is a tip top bakery.

I love the food but find the staff very unhelpful to the point off being rude one lady who works there old with short hair. my daughter couldn't decide on a cake and she pretty much huffed if you not happy to serve people after 3pm then you should shut so you can clean up and go home, my 6 year old daughter even commented saying the lady was grumpy and she was quite upset... I choose to go and spend my money in your shop rather than others because the cakes are always nice

Stopped at a few local cafes in the past but not this one as it's on the sunny side of the street and with a couple of tables outside it can be quite hot in the heat of summer, others have inside seating but this is mainly a bakery and not a cafe as such.

A large selection of bread rolls and cakes of all types. The jam donuts are super. You will not be disappointed if you visit this bakers.

amazing bread/baps/cakes,the service is allways with a smile,food tastes great,,,i would have given it 5 stars,,but the sell pasties,,,now being cornish,i am rather keen to sample my home fodder when i get the chance,but these actually have peas in them!,,sacralige!!,,,makes for the worst pastie in the world!,,and yet to have a hot one yet,,,dont be put off by that,,,the rest is brilliant,,on the whole,and great place!

Great cakes and I have such nostalgic memories of coming here on a Friday afternoon after school with my dad to have a treat. He'd always have a lardy cake, though to this day I still don't know what one is! Really fantastic value, and whilst the shop can be very cramped as it's extremely popular, the staff are always polite and helpful.
