Had a great stay at The Carpenters Arms, the accommodation is great, large, comfortable room with great sized ensuite. The we had breakfast, lunch and dinner here which was extremely good, food hot, tasty and plentiful and reasonably priced. The staff were very friendly and helpful as we're the landlords. Wish them the best of luck in their new venture.
Odd to see a sign on the pub advertising a chance to lease a pub when the present team have been in situ for some time. And running out of cask beer? A bit weird. However the food was plentiful and tasty.
Worst Iced Mocha ever. I was first offered iced milk and espresso, I reminded the staff about the Coco powder who then poured the coffee back into the blender and added a few scoops of Coco, who then took the drink to the back and came back out. I threw the drink in the bin instantly. It was badly made and wasn't prepared in front of me. Never ever visit this branch again, rather drive down to Leisure Park to have a Costa.

Had a takeaway. And I have to say it was dreadful I've used them before and the food is always been really lovely but this time the food was really poor chips weren't cooked properly sweet and sour chicken didn't taste like the coating with cooked the only decent thing was chicken fried rice really disappointed
Always enjoyed popping into this pub, friendly staff and good service.
Sadly the future for this place was written on the walls. Struggled to get clientele in this climate, hopefully the staff have been able to find employment elsewhere. Not nice to be made redundant just before Christmas.
Steak and kidney pudding, terrible fray bentos, mash and cabbage were ok , bring back the old management, I keep trying to give these a chance, not again.
Very attentive staff, excellent and prompt service - was offered extra butter for my teacakes without any hesitation or mention of a charge which is delightfully surprising for Basingstoke.
Staff are lovely here and look after both their customers and their restaurant equally, you can see they're proud to be part of it, especially on a Sunday which can be a real drag!
Great staff, lovely to sit by the fire in the bar. Restaurant area felt a bit formal to me so stayed in the bar. Food was excellent but very small portions, and not cheap either.
I had the gammon and could have eaten 2 plates.
