Costa in Basingstoke and Deane

Worst Iced Mocha ever. I was first offered iced milk and espresso, I reminded the staff about the Coco powder who then poured the coffee back into the blender and added a few scoops of Coco, who then took the drink to the back and came back out. I threw the drink in the bin instantly. It was badly made and wasn't prepared in front of me. Never ever visit this branch again, rather drive down to Leisure Park to have a Costa.

Just bought an awful bubble tea from them. Mostly ice, literally three sips of awful tea from the bags and some bubbles. £4.35 for that. Never again

I dont mean to moan but, please change your HVAC Filters. The three Mitsubishi ones in the seating area... pollen filters are clearly full.... constantly sneezing and having to blow my nose,no I don't have a cold... its only £300 to sort out all three its not fair on your staff and customers to be inhaling stale air .... I will remove my comment once this has been done. Apart from that it's nice.

I've live a 5 minute walk away from this Costa for 14 months, it's literally never open,i've not managed to get a coffee once. Close the shop and make it something useful that's open, maybe a Starbucks

I always go to Costa when i want a coffee and this is the first costa where I have had a bad experience. I am guessing the issue is one of staff laziness. We said we were eating in but wete told we had to have food out of paper bags and drinks in takeaway cups. I can only presume this is to save the staff from washing up. The place was empty and it was early in the day so I'm guessing the dirty floor was not from today's customers. The toilets are kept locked- presumably having them open would encourage use.

Absolutely love staff and atmosphere here. Normally, take coffee in the morning and during lunch hours through app. Always serve in their best way. Love an idea that you work on Saturdays too, it allows me to enjoy my life with cup of coffee.

Only been there 3 times since moving to the area. First time was alright visit however the next two times me or my partner has visited they have been closed during their opening hours. If they are closed during their opening hour they should at least put a sign up or change it on the website.

Customer service was very bad. They don't know how to speak with customer. Very lazy and bad attitude. I was served by Chris. She was nice to us. Other one making coffee that lady so rude and shouting. It happened today afternoon 15.04 date 10/12/20. Iam so unhappy with the service.

I've always enjoyed stopping off for coffee at this Costa......until this morning when the coffee had an unnatural taste and smell. When I mentioned it to the Manager I was told I couldn't have a refund - I didn't ask for a refund I was just providing feedback but he made me feel as if it was there was something wrong with me. He offered no apology and frankly his manner was offhand - not the normal Customer Service you have come to expect from Costa.

Average costa but confused as to why there are three members of staff working but the one who takes your order then makes your drinks and serves them up meaning anyone else behind you waits for that same person to come free to take their order while the other two our messing about with Milk or cups. In addition with it being a drivethru the poor girl serving us was also then taking those orders too! Generally the place is quite nice inside, plenty of people working on laptops and taking calls, coffee was well served.

Could they go any slower, the both look like the have no interest in working today, no interaction with the customers or even acknowledging the long que.

This is the only costa in the whole of Basingstoke that are able to make amazing Frostinos! Can be busy at times though but so worth the wait for a salted caramel frostino.

Very rude staff wont allow use of toilet unless you buy something, awful.

Can’t find the Costa, not sure if you can get food from the drive through be we’re having a look. It looks dead here fingers crossed all goes well

An hour before closing the staff advised people they had to take all beverages in takeaway cups. The staff also asked an elderly lady who had sat in a comfortable seat to move as he had already swept and mopped the floor on that side (an hour before close) so disappointed.

Great service prompt and fast but with all the taste. Drive through is a bonus and parking available

A small coffee shop with limited options for food - a lot less choice than other Costas. There is also a 30 min WiFi limit and it was cold inside.

Staff are lovely but service soooo slow now . What's happened ! Last two visits to drive thru have had a shocking wait . Never used to be like this

Everything good apart from incredibly slow service

Was always in this place before (too much if I’m honest), the staff were always friendly and happy working as a team. In the past 2-3 months though the staff have all left and replaced a new crop of young staff that obviously need better training. Too much queuing, the coffee is hit and miss and once when i asked for abit more syrup i was questioned whether i had ordered it originally - shocking customer service. The new manager seems to be the issue in my opinion, your staff are your asset and like I say they all decided to leave. We drink in brighton hill alot more now and increasingly seeing drive thru customers in brighton hill too. Such a shame!

As a very regular customer to the drive thru (daily) I cannot speak highly enough of the staff there, they are amazing and an asset to the company, but the new manager leaves a lot to be desired, he's abrupt and to be honest rude to customers and his staff, he has absolutely no charm or personality which you need in a public facing role. I purchased a large latte and a tea to go in the store as the queue for the drive thru was exceptionally busy (as it usually is), the young lady Barista that was working the till made me the tea to speed things along was really polite asking exactly how I wanted it, but the manager who was working the bar started to make the latte to drink in, I politely interrupted him to say the latte was a "take away" not "drink in", to say I got a look of absolute disgust from the manager is an understatement, he threw the contents away after blaming the young lady Barista for telling him wrong (which she hadn't).It's no wonder there has been a large turnover in staff lately, if I was treated by my manager in that way I would have walked out, she was obviously way to professional for that as most if not all staff usually are, in my opinion a manager is there to lead and instruct staff how to in this instance to make coffee and treat customers with respect and follow the company mantra, which in the past with previous managers has been exceptional.In future I will consider taking my business and money elsewhere despite how much I love Costa coffee and the staff at the DT. Really disappointing.

This new coffee shop is very good . Its bright , lots of glass windows floor to ceiling which makes watching the world go by , easyIts clean , service is fast , staff are attentive and always smiling delivering snacks to your table.Toilets are also clean which gives a very good impression of the total shop.Either use the Costa before or after doing shopping there a wide range of shops adjacent and more to be opened soon.Plenty of free parking close by.In this new venture Costa are wished success.

Popped in today to support my local Costa at 4.30pm. Unfriendly, unhelpful staff who greeted me with 'you'll have to have it in a takeaway cup, we close in half an hour'. Asked if there was anyway I could have a China cup, as half an hour is a fair amount of time. Response 'No, we have things to do' Unbelievable and totally unacceptable. Change your ways Costa.....

Love this place 😊 but just occasionally it dissapoints me ☹ . Serving coffee in take away cups because they are soon to close 🤔 ? Having no white bread for toast 🙁 ? Just niggles that sometimes let down a usually fantastic coffee house .

Usually great sometimes it can be noisy with unmanageable kids left to run around by inconsiderate parents.

Experience was fine but staff weren't very friendly.

Nipped in to have something to eat and drink whilst waiting for someone. The selection of sandwiches was a little limited but it was about 8 p.m. on a Friday night so it wasn't that surprising. Service was pleasant and quick with my bits being brought over to me at my table.I liked the fact that there is plenty of room and a good selection of places to sit and you didn't feel crowded, like you do in some shops. Overall a pleasant experience and equal to those I've had on other Costa shops.

Had coffee and toasted tea cake here but the cakes where lightly cooked and not toasted right. Really off putting. But enjoyed the coffee

Costa very convenient to where we were staying so called in. Typical Costa, clean and tidy with helpful staff. Table was a bit rocky and as I moved, I jogged the table and my wife's latte spilt and spread across the table. I still can't understand Costas reasoning for not serving lattes on a saucer anymore. A saucer would have captured most of the spillage, instead I had to ask for a cloth to clean the table down. Not very happy.

Much more quiet than the hospital Costa, with just as good drinks and food.

Great place and location. Wish i lived in this neighbourhood. Good service and friendly. Tasty brownie tasters to try too. Gotta love it!!

The coffee and staff are fine, but was limited to 30 minutes on the free wifi.

The staff in here do not listen to what you order. Especially if you are conducting a business meeting . i have now decided to no longer use this branch.

The new drive through in Basingstoke's leisure park. Bit of a que but the staff were working very hard to their best abilities so all credit to them. Possibly understaffed.Had a cheddar and red onion toastie and latte which were all on point as expected.Nothing too negative to say just need more staff possibly.Good experience

Costa speaks for itself, however, customers are very noisy & don't seem to care how it affects others.

Service was quite slow today (Saturday) and by the sound of it a customer was experiencing trouble with their order.Have the muffins got smaller ? or is it just me...The drinks are never really hot ! and tables are nearly always cluttered with the previous occupants order.It's not a good look .... Please clear your tables ,nobody wants to sit at a dirty table.

So I've just paid £3.15 for a lukewarm toffee apple hot chocolate. Served by kirstie- who was surly, rude, disinterested and dismissive. No please or thank you. No eye contact and then it took 4 minutes for the drink to be made- and there was only 1 customer having a latte made in front of me. Appalling lack of customer service

My social club this as a venue for our monthly committee meeting. Good coffee and selection of cakes.

Looking for something familiar and convenient then this is a place worth popping into. Expensive coffee in a familiar surrounding with free wifi.. Can't go wrong really

Slightly out of the way and we nearly missed finding it. We prefer Costa coffee flat whites as it is the next best thing to good Italian coffee or Australian flat whites. A friend had an enormous cup of coffee! There is certainly a choice. Quite a small cafe.

Noisy, very busy and dirty. I visit Costa's a lot and this is one I shall not be going back to. It was clear that there were not enough staff i.e. no-one clearing/cleaning the tables and our order took over 10 mins to be made.

Utilised Costa in Basingstoke for a business catch up with a colleague, it is well located with ample complementary parking. It's hard to wax lyrical about coffee shops but facilities were as expected and staff friendly and welcoming. Will happily drop by again

Always friendly - however they can be terribly slow - if I pull in and see more than three/four cars waiting I leave it - coffees served at a good temperature

Been here lots of times and every time the thing that stands out is how friendly and good the staff are. Always makes me want to go back.

Cakes supersweet, coffee average (not as good as Sainsbury's Hatch Warren). Always noisy due to music sometimes loud (although in fairness the staff are happy to reduce volume if requested) and often cold because of unnecessary airconditioning. Good location for meeting people. Everybody sees things differently and my views are unique to me so don't let me put you off. I'm in my late fifties and prob classed as a grumpy old git. I'm like Sheldon Cooper in searching for the best spot to sit - the draft from the aircon pushes me one way then the music moves me another then the din from the coffee making machines pushes another way... I only want a quiet spot to sit, think & quietly chat with a mate, that's all. Anybody know anywhere? Please?

Dropped in before our visit to Airkix. Nice size, friendly staff and lovely drinks as usual. Typical Costa prices (2 med hot chocs, toastie and muffin just over £12). Very clean.

Costas have the same or similar menu wherever one is, so the ways that they differ are in the way coffee is prepared, the standard of service and general cleanliness. These were all good, especially the service that was happy and polite, a good little stop

had a queue for the drive through, but were serving really quick, despite that i thought i would go in to get my order. only writing this review because i was so impressed with this branch. staff were so friendly and chatty, and greated me with a smile. it made my day after working a night shift. thanks

We used the restaurant side on the Saturday and the drive thru' on Sunday. Both times, service was excellent and the coffees and hot chocolate were great. Ticked the box!

Visited late on a Saturday afternoon when not too busy but very disappointed when ordering a white Americano not to be asked what type of milk I wanted or whether I wanted it hot or cold This is not exclusive to Basingstoke as Costa is my coffee shop of choice and this has happened increasingly lately - maybe a change of policy? I was annoyed not to have been asked especially when a huge amount of cold whole milk was poured in - I immediately stated that this was way too much milk and whilst she didn't look impressed she made another, still not asking what type of milk etc and this time poured less only because I had to shout stop and without apology or a smile the coffee was pushed in my direction - charming customer service

I went here on a lunch break whilst I was in the area, I went back with my partner whilst we were awaiting her ski lesson at the skiplex next door, the atmosphere is so congenial and the food, coffee and service are excelent - knocks spots off Starbucks!

The staff was friendly and service was fast. They drinks weren't exactly the hottest, but it wasn't a unbearable cold. It just meant I could drink my coffee at a faster pace

Although I like the variety of drinks it is so annoying how long it takes to actually get them. Good snacks but a little pricey.

We were served by a member of the management team when we went in. Friendly and approachable. Our order was a gingerbread latte and a black americano to take away. With the americano it's usually extremely hot. Without being asked we were given an extra take away cup around the americano. Although only a tiny thought, it does make the drink a lot easier to handle. I go to quite a few coffee shops and these little touches do make the difference where I go when there are a few to choose from.

Just visited the costa at the leisure plaza for the first and last time. Saturday afternoon and the place is in absolute chaos. Only one person operating the coffee machine and queues for the drive through and in the cafe area. This place needs a manager urgently, if it does already have a manager then he needs a career change.

Best Costa I've been. Brilliant service Acacia served us and someone who really cares. We'll be back again soon. A real treat

Decided to pop in for a coffee with a friend to the restaurant. We were met with complete and utter chaos, tables stacked high with debris, long queues to be served and customers who had obviously been waiting a while all getting irate. Order taken by second till operator as the first one shouted at us 'you can only pay by card here, as I have no change'! Two iced drinks ordered, our order placed at the barista and then promptly thrown in the bin when he eventually processed to order in front. We saw this and commented, at which the girl on 'card till' shouted very loudly saying or order was on its way! After standing and waiting for over ten minutes still no order. We also noticed drinks getting cold standing on the trays waiting for the complete order to be processed and people who were fed up waiting just grabbing the first thing that was being served up! We had to re order and another slip printed to get our drinks. When they arrived we were not impressed as they were horrid, how can you mess up an iced tea and coffee for heavens sake. Will not be returning until they sort out the place, employ more staff and train them.

Popped to the drive thru to get coffee and two travel mugs. Get to the window, collect my order and drive away. Stop shortly after to put the coffees in my cup holder and see there are just two travel mugs in the bag so I assume the coffee must be in there. Get home and I have no coffee! :(

Costa is my preferred coffee shop and I've said so many times if only I didn't have to find parking it would be great, so this was a great surprise.The quality of the coffee was as good as usual and the drive thru experience was quick. A couple of times I did walk across from the Premier Inn to have counter service and they get very busy so there was a long wait in the queue. Also behind the counter there were several food wrappers/ cup lids strewn on the floor and more than once I saw staff using the same grill to heat meat and vegetarian items - I pointed it out the second time, but didn't have the impression they're likely to change so if I go again, I'll stick with drinks and no hot food.

second visit to this Costa while at the Leisure Park. If anywhere is an advert for Starbucks, Nero etc - then this place is it. Service is shockingly slow with very lengthy queues and extensive waiting times. Once at the front of queue service has been sullen on both visits - and on one visit a typed note was taped on the chilled cabinet stating their 'costa rewards card' service was not working, and when the server was asked on how to claim points on this large purchase for my group, i was told in no uncertain terms that the system was working! when i pointed out their own notice i was essentially treated with contempt. Next time i'll take a flask and sit in the car. heaven help any of these staff if they worked in a London branch of any coffee house... you can't hold Costa responsible for the actions of their customers but also have to say that some of the families with small people could do with some help in developing their manners...

My first experience of a costa drive thru today...Maybe I shouldn't have expected or even assumed that my drink to be ready, when the lady on the speaker said "please drive round to the next window where your drink will be waiting".... it was not ready, in fact it wasn't even made... So we sat for a couple of minutes waiting for said drink to be made... The lady who made it pretty much threw it on the window counter, and another barista passed it out to us. No offer of sugar, no chocolate sprinkles ... But the worst part, one of the people who had handled the cup had clearly recently had a cigarette, as it smelt like ashtrays... Not pleasant, to say the least. Not the best Costa!

Have been useing this costa drive threw for a few months all it can say is don't use the drive threw 9 out of 10 times using it we had wrong drinks cold drinks (that should be hot) and the wait time for the drive threw is about 15 / 30 minutes with just one car in the queueEven going in it feels like the staff have not got time and often the person making the drink is asking what have you paid for as the cashier has not passed on the order and food getting forgotten other ones in the town and the one at Chineham is so much better sort it out people

I visited this store and was disgusted with the staff's attitude towards milk allergies!Firstly I entered the branch with my 3 year old son at approx. 11:30am and waited more than 5 minutes to be served, unacceptable considering there was one couple ahead of us and the store was not overly busy and staffed very well....I counted 6 staff....... When we got to the service point I ordered soya vanilla latte for myself and a Soya Babycino for my son. I explained that Bailey was violently allergic to cows milk and that there must not be any chocolate powder anywhere near the Babycino. I also explained that we carry an 'Epipen' for that reason! On a positive note, the supervisor who was serving me looked up if the marshmallows served with the Babycino contained milk(Some do). He was unable to find this info in the allergy list, he passed the allergy info onto the Barista who ignored him at first. The Babycino arrived looking like hot chocolate... When I questioned this and stated how allergic Bailey is to cows milk I was met with a huff from the barista.I insisted that he used a clean jug with no chocolate. I received a sarcastic..."ok!" During the entire ordeal, I had Bailey in my arms so when we finally got our drinks there was no offer from any of the 3 staff behind the counter to help me to my table, I responded with a sarcastic.... 'It's ok guys I'll manage" the barista replied sarcastically "ok!"I asked to speak to the duty manager and the supervisor who took my order made him self known as the duty manager. I challenged him on the incident and questioned.A) their attitude towards my son's allergy....B) The attitude of the barista C) The supervisor's ability to manage his team.... It was obvious to me that the team had no respect for the supervisor in question! D) I was not convinced that the barista had taken my son's allergy seriously and refused the drinks.E) The supervisor's lack of reaction to and apparent fear of my complaint.He refunded my £3 but seemed not to take on board my concerns and anger about the barista's attitude.I have regularly met clients and colleagues here but will now be finding and alternative venue from here on in!Avoid this one!!!!!!
