Really poor experience..and a poor customer outcome..from a customer that had been going there for years

There was quite a large group of us on a very busy night, with a couple of other large groups as well as couples and foursomes, which might explain why the service wasn’t quite on point, but I had the best curry I’ve ever eaten and everyone in our party said how good the food was. Tasty and fresh and the special requests (and there were a few) were met without problem.

Lovely staff, very clean, and felt very safe with the new measures. Staff as always are friendly and welcoming. Lovely hot drinks and although limited food, still delicious for a treat.

Ignore all these sub standard reviews. I’m a 52 year old lover of Chinese food, and this place beats most in Basingstoke!!! Highly recommend.

We came for the afternoon tea and we loved it. The presentation and quality was good. The restaurant has nice view to grounds with many colourful flowers. Anna has been amazing . So friendly and helpful. Nice selection of teas. We definitely will be back. We were told that zanetta from kitchen prepared our afternoon tea.

Io e 15 amici siamo rimasti senza cena la sera di capodanno, nonostante avessimo prenotato inizio dicembre e tre giorni prima della data della prenotazione per confermare il numero di persone. Il “proprietario” grandissimo maleducato e cafone, ha insinuato che la nostra prenotazione fosse falsa, nonostante il fatto che gli avessimo fatto vedere le chiamate. Ci ha dato dei bugiardi, falsi non ammettendo il proprio sbaglio e addirittura urlandoci contro, per non parlare dell’atteggiamento PESSIMO che ha avuto nei confronti della ragazza che ha prenotato, un atteggiamento così nessuno dovrebbe avercelo con i clienti. Personale inqualificabile, proprietario pessimo. Spero non sia successo a nessun altro. Peccato che non si possono dare 0 stelle… Grazie per averci rovinato la cena di capodanno Non ci tornerò mai in quel posto. Non è un ristorante serio ma soprattutto con personale serio

Called in for breakfast . I have visited before and found it quite nice although some of the staff can be a little curt. This time i was met with a miserable man with glasses , bellowing out orders. He handed me my order and proceeded with a very backward stereotype, a racial "joke". I don't expect to be racially abused when i am spending my hard earned money in your cafe. After his bigoted quip, he scurried off very quickly. I am glad he did as it was likely he d have had his glasses smacked off his head. Cheeky boy trying to belittle people when he's serving coffees for a living. I wont be back near the establishment as I don't support bigots.

I was disappointed after trying Tottenham cake, which is supposedly a beloved British dessert. The poor excuse for a cake was painfully dry and crumbly, with a texture more like stale angel food cake than proper sponge. To make matters worse, the cake had zero discernible vanilla flavor despite supposedly being vanilla. Instead, it tasted flat and floury. The sickeningly sweet icing was the worst part, with a gross fondant-like texture that added no flavor. Trying to eat this cake was a Sisyphean task, as the crumbs disintegrated when I tried to spear them with a fork. Rather than providing a taste of British tradition, Tottenham cake proved to be an overhyped letdown. I do not recommend subjecting your taste buds to this subpar dessert. Stick to scones and biscuits for quality UK treats.

Really enjoyed the lounge and restaurant (great fish and amazing bread)! Woddy, Joe, Igor, and Kat were very accommodating and Trish (Chef) had excellent dinner recommendations. Friendly staff and great food made for an excellent evening!

Six colleagues met for dinner; after one hour of a wait for a table in the almost empty restaurant we sat down. Ordered our food, almost another hour past and one of our two ordered breadboard starters arrived, then a burger before the second starter. Next came somewhere more mains including the smallest piece of steak imaginable with a surf and turf. The person serving us “Max I think” was great he couldn’t apologise enough but the management watched him without doing anything at all to help. The bill came incorrectly and all in all we won’t eat here again due to lack of attention by management and many staff. Very disappointed as the Crowne Plaza everywhere else is great.

Great service, served quickly. Our coffees and food were served with a smile as always. Table clean, enough tables were available inside and outside. Food was hot and cakes were lush! Toilets were always clean. Not sure if manager has changed, it seems many friendly members of staff have left very recently. It is a shame….

Tuvimos una experiencia maravillosa aquí, con buena comida y un personal muy amable, no podía hacer lo suficiente para nosotros y los costos eran buenas. Sin duda volveremos la próxima vez en la ciudad. Mandy C.
