Greggs in Basingstoke and Deane

I was disappointed after trying Tottenham cake, which is supposedly a beloved British dessert. The poor excuse for a cake was painfully dry and crumbly, with a texture more like stale angel food cake than proper sponge. To make matters worse, the cake had zero discernible vanilla flavor despite supposedly being vanilla. Instead, it tasted flat and floury. The sickeningly sweet icing was the worst part, with a gross fondant-like texture that added no flavor. Trying to eat this cake was a Sisyphean task, as the crumbs disintegrated when I tried to spear them with a fork. Rather than providing a taste of British tradition, Tottenham cake proved to be an overhyped letdown. I do not recommend subjecting your taste buds to this subpar dessert. Stick to scones and biscuits for quality UK treats.

Always plenty to choose from and fresh made if it's not on the shelf staff will make one very nice staff and always welcoming great value and place to eat and chill out well done all

I had a steak pie and it was absolutely delicious. My husband wanted to try an authentic Cornish Pasty else where; however, it was a disappointment when compared to a comprable Gregg's offering. We only ate at Gregg's after that as their food was so far superior.

I love this place, Bev and Chris are a great always providing a fantastic service. There infectious smile always manages to cheer me up 😊. Because of this i forgo a subsidised canteen and come here daily! Thanks guys 👍

Another Greggs serving the usual selection. The staff are very friendly and most of the time you get service with a smile. Can be quite busy so you can’t always get a seat.

Really efficient in the way they deliver food. The coffee is fantastic for on the go and when you are short of time.

So I love the cakes here especially the jammy heart. The staff are always friendly but the slices and hot food are never hot!!! Nothing worse then biting into a cold sausage and bean slice. I understand they was hot when cooked and you don’t want to reheat them but seriously they aren’t nice cold. Wish you had a hot plate. However the food is always fresh and like I said amazing cakes and great prices . I will return but just for cakes

Haven't had hot food from Greggs for a while so was a nice snack here today. Sausage rolls fresh and piping hot. Not much seating and I don't understand why charge more for eatting in when you still get food in a paper bag

The pastys can be his and miss with some being hot and others cold. The service is quick and friendly. The sandwichs and baguettes are good as well

The first time I went here, I received such poor and rude service when I had cause to query something, I resolved never to visit again. However I now have visited several times over the past few weeks and the food and coffee is good, staff are great and I think Greggs provide excellent value for money.

I was so excited to find one of my favourite childhood cakes to in your bakery London Cheesecake, I bought one and took it home awaiting eagerly for the after noon to come so I could enjoy it with my cup of tea, well what a huge dissapointnent there was hardly no icing on it to hold the little bit of coconut that was on it, the pastry was a dry as a bone, if you're going to sell these what I call classic cakes then at least do them the justice of making them nice and memorable to eat, mine went straight in the bin xxx
