Marks & Spencer Simply Food in Basingstoke and Deane

Lovely staff, very clean, and felt very safe with the new measures. Staff as always are friendly and welcoming. Lovely hot drinks and although limited food, still delicious for a treat.

As someone who does not wish to self-checkout I often find the tills manned by one person and even when a queue starts very little effort is made to open another till. It is very annoying and shows lack of customer service. As for the upstairs cafe it is more like a staff canteen than a customer cafe! On a positive note I do find M&S food the best even though I also shop at Waitrose.

We stopped by at the simply food café at our most recent trip to Chineham Shopping Centre. I was impressed by the hot chocolate, and was surprised the luxury hot chocolate was only 15p more expensive than the normal version. Very impressed by this café and I will definitely be back.

My husband and son enjoyed the different foods available and sorry we didn't have this available back home.

Staff were very helpful and friendly, really love being able to order on line and pick up from store!

I met a friend here for afternoon tea one Monday. We arrived at 3.30pm but there was a distinct lack of choice for cakes, with most of the serving dishes empty bar a few crumbs. The restaurant is on the first floor and is set up with the tea and coffee drinks station open plan in the middle of the dining area; the food preparation area is tucked away from prying eyes. My main beef isn't the lack of choice but the noise. Every tea and coffee cup was clattered on to its saucer, and the coffee grinder and steamer was so loud I could barely hear my friend sat opposite.

Always look forward to a visit to the M&S restaurant, clean, wholesome and quality food. Excellent service. Will alway keep coming back again and again.

Lovely people here, always willing to help. Good M&S food and great tea/coffee. Great place to drop in and grab a snack or sit back and relax over a cup of tea and cake. Better than the coffee shop brands and sensibly priced. A welcome place to visit.

Ordered Scrambled egg and Smoked Salmon and a Capaccino. Long wait for the food and when arrived the eggs were dry and tasteless as though they had been warmed in a microwave and not freshly made. Was brought a Latte rather than the Cappuccino ordered which I didn’t really mind. Salmon was nice. Staff friendly.

Whenever I visit Chineham Shopping Centre I always stop at M & S restaurant for a coffee and snack. The toasted sandwiches are the yummiest I have ever tasted. The service is good, the restaurant is clean and spacious and los of people drop in for a chit chat and take a break from shopping. Love M & S.

I pop in here all the time but especially when I want something slightly different! Great food. Great staff. Excellent choice and variety. Always fabulous service.

Nice new build. Lots of space upstairs for a friendly environment. Staff are really lovely. Toasties, rolls, hot meals all delicious and excellent cakes. And great tea - in a pot. Just love this place. Perfect for an indulgent hour.

This cafe can get crowded but that is due to the fact that the food and drinks are so good. The customer service is excellent though, and the staff are extremely helpful. Only downside is the lack/shortage of napkins, but I suspect that this is due to the fact that the general public often mistake them for confetti.

Good place for coffee and a snack or lunch plenty to choose from in the snack department and fresh fruit .

Before start the travel buyed sone snacks and I liked the variety of food, fruits, yogourt, beverages, water and more.

Good place to get lunch, there are a lot of healthy snacks all together which is a nice change. The queue can be a bit long but always a nice selection of food

Visited for coffee, we were served by Rita who was lovely so friendly and helpful. Great place for coffee, they also have a very good selection if sandwinches , cakes and light meals.

As prepacked cafe food goes M&S; is better than Costa but my one gripe about this place is the noise level. It's like sitting in a works canteen as there is nothing to deaden noise levels - have nothing against kids but one or two grousing babies or a toddler running around (which I accept they do) and the whole place becomes noisier than Clapham Junction. Not a relaxing place to enjoy coffee, such a pity as staff and service are good.

The food here is really very good, not a lot of choices but still very good, my only complaint is I was bugged by flies whilst eating the restaurant is clean but for the flies.

This is a good, clean bright shop cafe. The staff are friendly and helpful. The tea is very good. The food is also good for a shop cafe.

The food as always is very good as you would expect with Marks & Spencer. The staff are very nice and helpful I do not know what the 'when did you travel' means but I last visited in June 2016.

I live in the Chineham area, and the M&S; Simply Food store is ideally located for me - as I do not have to travel to Basingstoke town centre to go to the bigger branch of Marks and Spencer for any food items.

We stopped for coffee and cake while out shopping. There are not too many shops here but the small M&S; food store is handy if you do not want to go in to town plus the parking here is free. Coffee and cakes were good but higher priced than they should of been but then again it is M&S;.
