The Hampshire Restaurant in Basingstoke and Deane

We came for the afternoon tea and we loved it. The presentation and quality was good. The restaurant has nice view to grounds with many colourful flowers. Anna has been amazing . So friendly and helpful. Nice selection of teas. We definitely will be back. We were told that zanetta from kitchen prepared our afternoon tea.

Rooms ok but food terrible and an absolute rip off. Ordered a cameralised onion and cheese sandwhich On brown bread. When it arrived it was on stale white bread and had a few slices of raw red onion and charged £7.50!! Had the steak in the restaurant for dinner, was very chewy and had no flavour. Very substandard and dissapointing. Paid £25 for 2 double vodkas with mixer. Not good value for money and definatley won't be staying again.

Best food I have eaten in a hotel for a long time. Bowl portions that you can return and have more. Hot, home cooked favourites, great selection - 100% recommend it!

The menu did not change much. Most guests only stay for a couple of days and we stayed 12 days. They did allow us to eat from all three of their menus... the restaurant, the room sertvice, and the bar menu. Food was good. Lovely staff.

We had hot and cold canapes and cocktails to start which were lovely, and then a fantastic 3 course meal. The staff were excellent and portions were very generous and delicious!

If you are looking for a good hotel then stay here,however if you are looking at eating with friends and enjoying your evening eat out as the service from the restaurant and the response from staff and management will only disappoint

steak cooked perfectly, nice relaxed meal, not hurried in any way , Recomend the share breads, they are bloomin lovely and a great sharer .

Breakfast is a help yourself from fry-up / cereal / fruit lunch is a choice of 4 mains Dinner was very nice with good service and food.

Food pretty standard Q Hotel fare, which if you are hungry and/or on a business tripis ideal. We had our two year grandson with us and the staff couldn't have been friendlier or more helpful.

I decided to try the hotels restaurant whilst staying over at the hotel. The restaurant was pretty empty on a Friday night which was a surprise. The staff were a bit surprised when I came in joggers and tracksuit top. But it was OK and they showed me to the table. Staff were nice without being too over bearing. The food was very good. I started with the game platter which had a scotch quails egg, hock, wild boar sausage and potted rabbit. The rabbit was nice but needed slightly more seasoning. You could have also made a nice pate with it. The scotch egg was OK but the scotch part was missing as it was not wrapped in any meat. It was essentially a breaded quails egg. The hock was tasty. The sausage was nice. For mains I had medium rare fillet steak. It was slightly overcooked and was medium throughout. The steak needed to be seasoned before cooking...this was missing slightly. The mushrooms were amazing and was definitely the best item on the dish. The potatoes were nicely cooked but again could have done with cream and a pinch more seasoning. The sticky toffee pudding for dessert was gorgeous. However the toffee ice cream was too similar...it may have worked better with a clotted cream or vanilla ice cream. £50 overall which was slightly expensive. Overall, nice and wouldn't mine going to it again.

Avoid at all costs, a terrible waste of money, poorly run, appalling food delivered at a snails pace, I could go on.....

The food was to a high quality and there was lots to choose from. The staff were friendly and so we had a very pleasant experience.

We ate here for our anniversary meal as we were staying in the hotel. There was a good selection available and the staff were extremely pleasant and helpful. I have the steak and my partner had the chicken both really enjoyed our meals. I would recommend.

We had a execellant meal on the first night of our stay great selection on the menu of starters main courses and sweets .

I had the fish & chips which wasn't brilliant. A little bit greasy. However the staff are friendly and the wine was good.

El menú era variada, con mucha variedad, por lo que la parte más difícil fue decidir qué ha de tener. Los camareros eran amables y atentos. No tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para nuestra comida y estaba delicioso. Fue a mediados de la semana, ya que el restaurante no estaba muy lleno, así que no nos falta ambiente, pero eso no nos impidió disfrutar nuestra comida.

The place is not bad as far as the decor goes, but the good was dire. It was tasteless. The staff are very nice and helpful. It's a shame the food was so poor.

Considering they were catering for such a large number of guests, the team was organised with military precision and we had a lovely evening. The food was served on hot plates and has to be one of the best Christmas party meals I've ever had.

We booked dinner for 7 of us for Friday, but there was no trace of the booking when we arrived. Fortunately the restaurant was not busy, so we had a table. The Saturday dinner dance a bit embarrassing - no bouquets, no table flowers ....
