This pub is highly recommended for a delicious Sunday roast - the Yorkshire puddings were exceptional and the online booking system was easy to use

A truly fantastic experience. The service from our waitress Emily could not have been better! She was attentive, caring, and made us feel very welcome. The atmosphere is lively in the bar area, and more relaxed in the dining area. (Depending on your preference). The food was a little bit of let down. The beetroot Wellington was very dry. The deserts were the most disappointing aspect. The shortbread was undercooked. And the apple crumble had a tiny amount of custard and crumble.

Wonderful country pub with a cosy atmosphere. Had a delicious Sunday dinner with my family, the roast belly pork was amazing with just the right amount of crispy crackling. Served by Jemima who was very attentive and friendly.

The food was good however, it was the service we received from Emily and Jacob that made the experience of dining hear a treat worthy of repeating.

The white hart is a cozy little pub, serves great food. Jacob and Emily were very attentive, courteous and patient. We were a large indecisive group, and we're made to feel welcome. Definitely recommend coming for a meal

Lunchtime visit. Nice pub just off the A33 but in a village location. Reasonable size car park. Good selection of beers and larger (Youngs pub). Food is good but the menu lacks any real low-carb options for diabetics. Some veg/an options. Excellent service both at the bar and seated. Large beer garden with tented area if it's a bit damp outside. Pub is popular, esp. at weekends but you can book tables online (advised).

Surprise party for someone special, Mark and the team looked after us fabulously, 40 or so of us for around 9 hours! Would certainly return for an event space (we go for meals and drinks fairly regularly anyway!). So may people commented on the food and the venue, well done!

We were looked after by Kara and Kerris, and had a superb lunch with friends! Very relaxed atmosphere, dogs allowed, and all round a great Sunday lunch!

3 generations which included an 18 month old toddler and a 7 week old baby also not forgetting our family dog were all made so welcome for a delicious lunch. The staff looked after us so well and all were so kind and accommodating. The lunch menu choices were amazing with good vegetarian options. Spacious and comfortable for dining with a choice of areas inside and outside. High chair available. Really dog friendly. Good parking. We noticed on the bar you can buy duck food to feed the local ducks. We thoroughly recommend.

The roast was nice but my beef was abit tuff otherwise cooked perfectly everyone else's food was good. It was a bit disappointing that they had run out of somethings on the menu but wasn't the end of the world.We would definitely return again maybe a evening or lunch.

Led a Tandem Club UK Page cycle ride there for lunch. Supplied names and menu choices in advance. 14 of us and all was well organised. Nice food, good selection of beers and wines, friendly bar staff who made sure we were all ok and had everything we needed. Couldn't fault them.

Great little proper English pub. We attended an engagement party under the outdoor canopy and found the catering and service excellent. Would highly recommend.

Great place, and even had good weather for it. Lovely pub atmosphere, a good menu cooked well with wide drinks selection. Staff were all excellent and friendly. Loads of outside space, including undercover on the lawn. Very dog-friendly, too.

Fabulous food and good service. The chef had obviously prepared everything fresh and it was cooked to perfection! The team were also super kind and flexible for my autistic daughters needs. They have a lovely selection of pictures and crayons for colouring too, which are very accessible. The restaurant was really nicely decorated and very clean. We just loved this experience! Thank you

Had a lovely lunch yesterday, the avocado hummus was delicious, large portion and I couldn't stop eating it. For my main I ordered the buttermilk chicken salad, also very delicious. Couldn't eat all the salad but certainly ate all the chicken, and the mayo with it was fab. My only reservation was that it was Friday lunchtime, the bar itself was empty which is where we would usually sit but we were directed to a table in the corner of the back dining area, it felt a little that we had been put in the corner out of the way, in addition, we struggled to get the bill because the young waiter was on his own, trying to serve , clear tables and be behind the bar all at the same time.

Two waitresses for the whole pub was insufficient resulting in long delays. Food was average and expensive. Won’t rush back

We had a wonderful lunch today, avocado hummus and crudités with toasted sourdough followed by buttermilk chicken salad. Everything was completely delicious. Large portion of avocado hummus and couldn't stop eating it. Had to leave half the salad as I was so full but ate all the chicken. Highly recommended

Lovely pup but don’t use the app. It took 15 minutes just to get two drinks and they weren’t even busy. More than £5 for a 330ml bottle as well!

Lovely old pub, very attractive inside. Went for lunch with a friend today. Plenty of choice on the menu, something for everyone. Had the quiche which was very enjoyable - it came with a coleslaw which was particularly tasty and clearly homemade. The presentation was a bit rustic and could have been tidied up a bit and the dish I felt was rather overpriced, but enjoyable notwithstanding those minor details...

Such a welcoming pub. Met family there from London and we all enjoyed the food service general smileyness and helpfulness of all the staff. Food choice was extensive and well presented Thank you. We’ll be back! C Davies

People make pubs and the staff when we visited for a Saturday lunch were excellent. The service was quick and efficient yet we didn’t feel rushed as everyone made time for a chat, especially about the menu. Everything available was well priced and all the dishes we selected and enjoyed were well prepared and presented. A great place to visit and relax in clean tidy surroundings.

The food was delicious and the staff were extremely friendly! Served by Hannah & Kerris who were all smiles and very attentive. Bar staff also went out of their way to annotate the menu for my Nan who is dairy free. Will definitely be coming back!

Great food, great staff, great beers, great atmosphere, great venue, so much to offer… and Ben especially, what a nice lad… saw him offering some other lovely customers a freebie take home because they were lovely ladies. Few good place.

Well well well, went out on a Friday evening. First night of the Euros, fine. Little did we know we’d walked in the lair of of Ben H, a bastion of fine customer service and purveyor of fine, fine wines. Alongside this Jacob (ohhhhh Jacob) saved my good friend Dan glasses as we were leaving and delivered them back to us. This is incredibly important as Dan has the eyesight of a star nosed mole. He’s effectively blind. 5 stars, 3 thumbs up as I’m sure you’re aware humans only have 2 thumbs, you do the maths. Exhilarating, compassionate, titillating. Will be coming back for more.

We went for lunch (kitchen opens at 12, no earlier), and they have a good garden for kids to run around in, baby changing facilities, and also crayons and lots of paper to colour in to occupy the kids. The sandwiches were sizable (5 inches high), and tasty, and about £38 for two sandwiches and two kids meals, so not unreasonable. The vegetarian salad sounded nice, but at £15 we gave it a miss

What luck! The White Hart at Sherfield was midway between us and our friends. Jacob and Kerris were outstanding at accommodating our food intolerances and were very attentive. Lovely walk around the area. We'll definitely be back. Oh and doggies also welcome!

We were so taken care of at this lovely pub. The server, Emilie, couldn’t have done more for one of our party who has severe food allergies, bringing out personalised menus and double checking all her choices. She was utterly patient and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great too with yummy fish cakes, home made scotch eggs, good desserts and chips. We left very happy and will definitely be back.

Good staff make a great pub and the team at the White Hart are exceptional. It gets very busy as it is so popular. When it’s your turn, they give you their full attention and provide excellent service. The food and drink are first class. Well worth a visit if you are passing by and well worth revisiting many times if you are local.

I’m sorry to say that the Christmas Day experience at the White Hart was one that we will not be repeating. The service was very polite and friendly, but painfully slow, and the food left a lot to be desired. The garlic layer on the top of the Cauliflower soup was overpowering, the two scollops we had on each starter were very gritty, they needed a good cleaning before cooking and serving. The Roast Beef was very rare, too rare for a general pub meal experience. The traditional Turkey dinner was missing pigs in blankets, which is one of the essential items on most people’s Christmas lunch.

Sandwiches made with stale bread. Had the ham and it was really fatty. Very disappointed. Other meals in the group are were ok.

I have been coming here for years but they recently changed chef and the food is awful! We all ordered Sunday roasts and received our plates which contained BOILED potatoes and gravy which was bright red. We asked the waitress to clarify whether it was indeed gravy, or tomato soup - as that’s what it tasted like. We were told the chef was experimenting and the gravy contained tomato. Personally I would have liked to have been asked whether I would have preferred regular gravy instead but I wasn’t given that option. I complained twice about the food but wasn’t giving any notice by the staff. I won’t be coming back.

Mixed review - I had visited a few years ago in the summer and had a lovely roast so my friends and I wanted to come back for a xmas outing. We were VERY disappointed with the roast. The gravy tasted like tomato soup and spoiled the whole dinner - we asked what was wrong with the gravy and how it was made and the girl just said il check, she came back and told us it did contain tomatoes and ‘sorry about that’ no offer to change anything. (It was also red in colour) The ‘roasted’ potatoes were boiled and dry - awful! The only thing that was good was the puddings! The brownie made up for the experience but would not go back!

Lady who served us who had cockapoos. Was friendly, chatty and helpful. Food was lovely and came out quickly. Our dog was even given treats.

Had a lovely pre Christmas meal - tasty rump steak for a change! Good choice of ales and wine and friendly and efficient service. Only downside was coffee machine had broken which would have completed the meal nicely.

I don’t usually leave reviews but I visited here with my partner for dinner and the food was amazing, especially their roast beef! Cooked to perfection and the service was impeccable, special thanks to Jemima. Ignore any “Karens” on here regarding negative reviews as both the food and service combined were 10/10. Went here on a Sunday evening at 5pm, phoned up prior to turning up to ask if there were any tables for four available, to which I was told that there were and they weren’t very busy. We arrived, went to the bar, said we were there for food and were able to choose from most of the tables in the pub to sit at. We were told the Sunday Roast was very good by friends, but to our shock it was absolutely awful. We ordered two roast beef dinners at £20 per roast and two roast pork dinners at £18 each. We chose to add two cauliflower cheese sides between the four of us at £12, a whopping £6 each. The meat on all four roasts was sliced so thinly, it may well have been sliced with a Parmesan shaver. The meat was tasteless and overdone. The gravy was tasteless water, probably water with brown food colouring added. The supposed “roast” potatoes were colourless and hard, and there was only one on each plate. We all had a tiny handful of greens, which were watery. Half a sliced carrot and one Yorkshire pudding each. The cauliflower cheese was raw, and the supposed white sauce was just grated cheese thrown on top of the raw cauliflower and thrown under the grill - no white sauce whatsoever. To say I was disappointed is an understatement. My partner came away saying it was the worst roast dinner he has ever eaten and I would have to agree. I was not happy to pay a bill of £105 for four tiny roast dinners and one drink each. Will not be going back and do not recommend the Sunday roast to anyone. I’ve served better raw meat to my dog.
