The best restaurants in Eastrop Basingstoke and Deane South East

My partner and I came here for a pre-show meal on Valentine’s Day. I’m so glad that we did as we were given a warm welcome, great service and the food was delicious. It’s a lovely atmosphere and in a great location. I had the vegetarian moussaka and chocolate mousse and we had some vine leaves to share as a starter. My mouth is watering just thinking about it! Will definitely be back.

Our visit to chulo thakali restaurant was a delightful experience. I highly recommend it to anyone looking to explore authentic Nepali flavors in a warm and welcoming setting. The menu offered a wide variety of dishes, catering to both vegetarians and meat lovers. We started with the chili chicken momo, which were perfectly steamed and filled with flavorful chicken. The highlight of the meal was the thali set, rich with spices, lentil and tender meat, accompanied by fluffy rice. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with authentic flavors. Considering the quality and portion sizes, the prices were reasonable. We felt we received great value for our money, especially with the generous portions. We will definitely be returning!

We were given a very warm welcome on our arrival. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was excellent so was the wine (Sancere). The fries were a tad under cooked and my husband mentioned it. They were immediately replaced with an apology. This did not affect our meal at all. As it was my birthday we were given a free glass of Prosecco each, a birthday card and my pudding (crème brûlée) was served with ‘Happy Birthday’. I can highly recommend the pork belly and my husband had the mussels. Definitely well worth a visit.

Great atmosphere from the moment you walk in. Super friendly staff. I was served by Lewis. Ordered nachos with pulled pork and they were not stingy on the toppings! Will definitely ve going back to try the other items!

What a fantastic place. We visited this bank holiday and what an amazing establishment this is. Staff are super friendly, breakfast is cooked to higher standards and very large portions. The continental bar was being topped up with beautifully fresh pastries that were still warm from the oven. We then returned for a beautiful roast dinner and again no complaint. The honey and mustard chipolatas are very moreish and again the staff were wonderfully attentive. We look forward to our next visit.

Just wanted to leave a review to say thank you. My newborn kept waking up from her naps and would cry when she heard the ice cream van song, I politely asked if they wouldn’t mind parking a little bit further down the road as it had happened on a few occasions. The person driving the ice cream van was very nice about it and even apologised which wasn’t necessary. Since this, they continue to park on the opposite road and don’t play the song. So THANK YOU very much for being so respectful! 😄

The staff are lovely, the coffee is great, and the downstairs seating area is so peaceful even with people down there. The WiFi is very hit and miss, although it is free, expect to struggle to connect to it downstairs.

A big shout out to the chef… I have eaten here a few times (and the food is usually pretty good) and usually have the tower stack (choice of 3 plates) today it was outstanding!! The flavour, the taste, the presentation… everything!! Thanks sooo much!!

Love that you can now get coffee to go with your Pretzel. Cinnamon pretzel and vanilla latte to start the day - thoroughly recommend. As always, fab service from the staff !

We’ve been many times to the Basingstoke branch this time ordered tropical juice as soon as I tasted it you could tell it had been heavily watered down when left to settle in the glass you could see nearly fifty mm of water in the bottom of the glass they must think were stupid. This dilution rip off has seemingly been reported many times and yet they still persist in mugging people off,had the Katsu curry for mains never again! Strange flavour very unusual compared to other katsu I have tried and the sauce had a strange consistency almost slimy. We begrudgingly paid the bill and left to go and have something to take the taste away real shame as the staff as usual were brilliant.I would think the orders to water the juice down comes from the faceless wonders above trying to save money by losing customers really logical that.

Nice decor, lovely serving robot. However, poor quality, luke warm food and poor service. No napkins on our table, a waiter who was disinterested and poor food at standard prices. Sadly not recommended if you like food.
