Willows Coffee House in Basingstoke and Deane

The staff are lovely, the coffee is great, and the downstairs seating area is so peaceful even with people down there. The WiFi is very hit and miss, although it is free, expect to struggle to connect to it downstairs.

We arrived and ordered 2 pots of tea and 3 teasted ham and cheese sandwiches, the drinks arrived and the pots of tea were only 2/3rds full , it then took over 30mins to deliver the first of 3 toasted sandwiches., the second arrived 15mins later only after us having to enquire about the rest of our order. The third didnt turn up, so after another 10min when enquired again, they said oops, it had been missed! They offered a refund for the sandwich or for to be made quickly, we asked for the sandwich to be made. 20mins later the sandwich still hadn't arrived so we gave up. When I approached the staff again to advise we wouldn't wait any longer and ask for a refund, the owner was called who offer to refund the sandwich only. Too right I said as we hadn't got the sandwich first nor last and also pointed out that we had been there over and hour and a half at this point, therefore I requested that we have the entire bill refunded In light of such poor service. Angrily, the owner then ordered her staff member to refund the whole bill and rudely stormed off in a huff. Not at all good customer service. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

Toasted sourdough and coffee. Long wait for the toasted sourdough which was hardly toasted when it did finally arrive....

Been here many times but should add a review! Really lovely atmosphere, staff v pleasant. Coffee is tops, the toasties are terrific. Comfy and cosy seating in the basement. Dog friendly, too.

I’m a regular. Really nice staff, lively and friendly. Cracking cakes and ham and cheese toasties. Dogs are indeed welcome. Cosy seats downstairs.

Have been coming to Willows since it opened in August 2020. The coffee is great, the cakes (particularly the Cappuccino cake)and savoury items are very tasty. The staff are and have always been very welcoming and friendly. Always feel at home there. Long may it remain that way

I had some time to kill and decided to have a coffee and a sit down. The coffee was excellent quality, far better than Costa et al. The staff were friendly and helpful and the place was clean. I can’t comment on the cakes as I can’t eat anything with milk products in. If only there were more places like this instead of the chains that provide poor coffee and often dirty tables. Recommended.

I went to Willows to enjoy a great cappuccino, and it was amazing. Unfortunately, the croissant that I ordered was soft and quite pale. It would have been great if the boulangerie in the cafe was at the same level!

Really great independent coffee shop. Stopped here for a couple of coffees to do a virtual call. Great wifi, quiet environment downstairs. Coffee was really great and service very friendly too. Pastries looked amazing, unfortunately too close to breakfast! Hopefully next time!

Honestly I can not say enough good things about Willows, every time I go in it's like being greeted by friends and at this point they know my usual off by heart which is just so lovely! I always have a wonderful chat with Daniel the manager who is an absolute treasure and the other staff who usually make my mornings better because I am so far from a morning person! Beyond grateful to have this wonderful little independent gem just on the doorstep that welcomes all and just has the best little quirky sense of belonging 💖

I didnt know this place existed! I met a friend here who'd been before. But unfortunately I wasn't impressed. My tea (and my friends) arrived very weak and quite cool, asked for a top up to make it a bit hotter but it also made it weaker. Our toasted sandwich was really lovely but, and this is probably a personal thing - it was toasted far too long and was very hard to eat, very very crispy edges which hurt the inside of my mouth. I found the downstairs seating area smelt very musty, old furniture, which in some ways was quaint but not so when we both found our chosen dining chairs had broken seats and we sunk into them, so in fact I'd say they were not useable. Upstairs is tiny and in my view very cluttered, does this all get cleaned and dusted regularly, yes, a very 'Mum' thing to say - but it could be deemed in some respect a health hazard in an establishment serving food. All was, in my opinion, quite pricey.

Had a great experience at Willow coffee house. Two days in a row I went for breakfast and everything was delicious. The manager Daniel was delightful, friendly and helpful - thank you. I highly recommend it.

Best coffee blend in Basingstoke. Being an Italian coffee taster in the UK, I've tasted loads of burnt coffees, watery coffees. This cafe has surprised me. Very good coffee blend, nice and hot espresso served with the saucer! I had it with a toasted pain au chocolat that was quite good as well. I enjoyed the cosy and quiet room downstairs and the friendly staff. Very good experience

I'm a little disappointed that none of my local friends have ever recommended this cafe to me before!!!!! At least we have found it now. Really lovely warm, friendly cosy atmosphere, accommodating friendly staff, delicious food and lovely coffee, catering for all dietary requirements. The chocolate banana loaf which they warm up is absolutely amazing! Highly highly recommended.

Fabulous coffee, lovingly prepared, croissants, cakes, toasties; What more could one expect? I'll definitely be back!

Visited here on Monday morning before getting a train to London. Coffee was really nice and the service was great. Highlight though was meeting little Willow the Dog! A perfect place for a pre train coffee hit.

Just what we needed in Basingstoke town centre ,a cosy coffee house with friendly service , tucked away from the busy shopping precinct, nice food as well, we will return. (One niggle, lighting in basement is too dim .)

We stopped for lemonade and toasted sourdough while visiting Basingstoke. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and the food very good. It is a refreshing change to find a great coffee shop that isn't a chain.

I went there yesterday on a first date as I'd seen it around a bit and was curious as to what it was like. Turns out, it's a fantastic warm little coffee house that makes you feel at home without any feeling of corporate backing...

The vibe is awesome, really decent coffee, staff are absolutely welcoming and I've found a place that really cares about customers and top quality service and produce.
