I’ve had chi’s street food 3 times and let me just say that when they opened, the food was excellent and customer service was awesome. I’ve recently decided to try the place out again and even though the food was still good the customer service is terrible. I went there with my sister and our order was we messed up . My sister told the waiter and they denied their mistake but 5 minutes later, they realised that they did mess up. We got all our food except the Korean hot dogs. We were waiting for about 15-25 minutes for them ( after recovering our the 1st half of our order- ordered everything at same time). And after asking the waiter about our Korean hot dogs, we realised they were forgotten and had to wait another 10 minutes. A few days ago we returned and got amazing food again but customer service was still not that good, people were still nice though. We got our drinks mixed up and we saw other customers have their food mixed up as well.

Chicken Katsu was very tasty and delicious, Islam was very friendly and he made me the best Katsu and Bibi gave an excellent service and asked me about my meal.

Very average. Pad Thai was very plain, wine terrible. The waitress was pleasant.

Regular customer, great food, excellent service !! Always come in with a few work friends and experience lovely customer service from the manager, Myra, who is always so sweet to her customers from what we have seen. Definitely recommend and encourage people to come here ❤️

I have a delicious dining time in Chi @ Basingstoke. I ordered a hot dish KATSU CURRY CHICKEN with rice, the curry taste is very good, not spicy, just mild. The chicken is very crispy. And also the shop manager Myra is very nice and helpful . I will come again next time

Had vegetable pad thai. Tasted great and portion size was impressive. It was served piping hot which I loved.

Having lunch here, I ordered Korean BBQ Beef Short Ribs, Thai Coconut Chicken Curry and two Pad Thai, tbh, other than the Thai Curry, all others tasted horrible. The Pad Thai was extremely salty and sweet, the Korean BBQ tasted too sweet too, just like eating salt and sugar in my mouth..... Definitely the worst Asian food I ever had....

Stood waiting at til for 5 minutes. Chef looked at me but did not do anything and no server was in sight. So I left and went elsewhere.

Great food, the banh mi was my favourite thing that I had. The pork was very soft and had plenty of flavour. The baguette itself was quite nice as well. I would recommend trying the iced coffee as well, it was very refreshing. The staff were very friendly, and helped by pointing out potential deals.

Myra was very welcoming, explained the menu correctly and the daily deals as well. She was Very helpful and the experience was pleasant.

We had Thai coconut Curry Rice bowl! Oh it was delicious. I think this is the tastiest Asian dish I have had in a long time. Definitely eating here again. Great customer service too.

We visited Bank Holiday Monday for an early lunch, myself and my daughter. The lady taking our order was so friendly. Food was absolutely delicious. We will be back the next time we're in Basingstoke.

Meh.. the pad Thai wasn't the worst I've had but it was ruined by the excessive salty fish sauce. It needs to be dramatically reduced before I could consider it an authentic Thai dish. On the plus side, it's a big portion, but I can't say I'd be too keen to eat here again.

I went for lunch and ordered the beef short ribs and the beef ribs were sooo soft and tender as if they were melting in my mouth. I also had the chicken wings but they were over fried so I didn't like them that much. The food was really delicious and the cook Mr. Islam was very friendly and hospitable person. Surely will go back

Really tasty meat, ramen broth deep flavour and some heat, baos soft and lush - fabulous! No more pics - ate the rest before we thought of it!

Has been recommended to me for a while and I finally made it. Chef/Owner came out to look after us. Im wheelchair bound nowadays and had plenty of room. katsu curry for me and he spiced it up, very tasty. Wife and daughter had Korean fried chicken which they loved. Will be back for sure.Thank You

Fantastic quality food, good sized portions and fantastic value.

Ordered vegetable pad Thai and salt and pepper squid. Both were pretty much inedible as it was extremely salty and way too much sauce. I started getting the salt sweats straight away!Salt and pepper squid also had no Chinese salt and pepper flavour. I don’t usually like wasting food but I could not possibly ingest these. Only pro is good service and big portions: Avoid if you actually have an Asian palette.

Amazing experience at Chi Basingstoke. We received well and the food we ordered Pad Thai along with Thai chicken fried rice arrived on time, The taste is marvelous. Chef Islam was fantastic throughout the happenings there at Chi. We will be back again for sure

I just can't get enough of the Korean fried chicken, in any of its available formats, I want to try more stuff off the menu but when I get in, my taste buds remember the chicken and I instinctively order it again. I'm a particular fan of the Banh-Mi (apologies if I butchered that) but the rice bowl was excellent. I've already sung praises to the chicken but the rice was fantastic, only down side for me is that there is a bit too much in the rice bowls and I feel bad for wasting food. One day, I will resist the chicken and try something different.

Being a chef by profession, I just wanted to have a break from my own food,as it was my off day I decided to go to basingstoke festival place and get a take out for my dinner,I forgot the name of the gentleman who welcomed me to Chi and I wanted a recommendation from the staff which he did very well and I decided to take beef short ribs with rice,the best meal I have eaten after a long time thank you Chi and to the gentleman,been added to the list of your regular customer

Chef Islam and Chef Chun were absolutely brilliant. The food was delicious and there was a nice atmosphere with Bollywood music playing. It was very clean and very convenient but most of all was the great food and the great service.

Food looked great, tasted flavoursome and fresh. It arrived hot and the portion sizes were great. I asked for extra katsu curry sauce in which I offered to pay but they assisted it was free. Lovely, polite staff. Overall great experience and will definitely be back.

chef islam and alex provided outstanding customer service. we had a katsu curry which was amazing- the chef even gave me extra chillies and katsu sauce which was fab, and also some bao buns, which were buy 1 get 1 free, so a great deal! the food was incredible and also super affordable, and to top it off, the staff were lovely too. definitely coming back again soon and would massively recommend.

One of my favourite places to eat within FP! Always quick service and the food is almost always great. They mix things up alot and i like to try new things so this works for me. They try to include a vegan/veggie option in most cases too. Which is nice. Its often pumpkin. They must have changed their boa bun supplier though because my last one was an entirely different shape taste and texture. A shame because the buns used to be perfect and now they REALLY arent.

Atmosphere and how the food is presented feels more like a fast food place, however the wait time is more like a restaurant. It was roughly a 30 minute wait for all the food to arrive. I feel the food is slightly overpriced for what it is, loaded fries were nice but too expensive on their own, bao broke apart in my hands, although I would definitely go back for a rice bowl. The lady who I presume is the manager was extremely friendly and made the experience worthwhile, however the other server seemed clueless and struggled to find table numbers. Tables could have been cleared quicker. I saw one table get cleared but not cleaned; it made me wonder if the table I was sitting at had been cleaned. I was given 15% off vouchers; there is a chance I would go back to purchase the Thai curry rice bowl only.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at Chi, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. Chef Islam's culinary skills truly impressed me; every dish was bursting with flavor and expertly prepared. Chef Bir's creativity shone through in each dish, showcasing a perfect balance of traditional and innovative flavors. The service provided by Suruthi was impeccable. She was attentive, friendly, and ensured that our dining experience was nothing short of perfect. Their knowledge of the menu and recommendations greatly enhanced our meal. Kudos to Chefs Islam and Bir, Suruthi and the entire team for their outstanding hospitality and delicious cuisine!

I came this weekend for a bbq ribs bao and chips. Nice portions and very filling, but out of chips and still water. Because the menu is very limited (still nice) the fact they were out of normal chips kinda bothered me. All the personnel was really nice and helpful.

Two synthetic food. Asked vegetable chow mein, not one single trace of vegetables on it.

Dinned in Basingstoke Chi earlier this week and totally forgot to leave a review. I must say I am quite a Chi-aholic, had a lovely quick meal, staff were really friendly and very helpful around my dietary requirements so very happy with service. The food was all round spot on and very well priced will defiantly be coming back.

We were waiting at the till for ages, even though we could see the staff milling about and then looking away if we caught their gaze. No one came to say they would be with us in a bit or whatever. Someone came to take our orders after probably 5 minutes of nothing and got my girlfriend's order wrong. No big deal, a bao bun could be heard as banh mi, I guess. But then I ordered and he just didn't ring it through. I had to rejoin the queue and reorder, and he got it wrong again! At this point, I couldn't be bothered to complain, I don't think anyone would understand me. We waited about 40 minutes for our food and it was not a busy day. We had Ramen and they were really bad - the meat was soggy and something had curdled in the broth, and it generally was just not a great taste, and kind of cold. We had a feeling that we had the B-team when we went.

Loved everything, food was excellent and hot. It came out fast and service was good. Not too expensive either. I definitely recommend going and can't wait to go again. Also the chips are amazing best I've had in a long time.

Sadly very disappointing. Ordered the Korean fried chicken but instead we received a cut up chicken steak of some kind. Looking at previous photo reviews they had proper fried chicken before so possibly a menu change but not Korean fried chicken and not worth the price. The sauce options were nice however.

One of my new favourite places to eat when stopping in Basingstoke! I’ve been here a few times and the food never fails to disappoint, the staff are always friendly and welcoming and everything on the menu is reasonably priced with good portion sizes. If you like Asian food I highly recommend coming here

Me and my partner walked in and seated ourselves, service was prompt and food came out rather quickly. The Bao bun was lovely as was the mac and cheese however the teriyaki chicken was extremely dry. I also found a bone in one of the chicken pieces. When I informed our waiter he shrugged it off and showed no interest, pretty much told us to put up with it. Once my partner finished his food we spoke to another waiter, young guy called David, who was most helpful! We explained what had happened and he took the chicken teriyaki dish off of our bill and was very apologetic about it all which we really appreciated!

Popped in at 12 noon exactly. No staff were in the store! Waited... still no one. Other customers were coming and waiting inside too. Eventually a staff member walked in and seemed to be surprised that there were customers even though they were already open! They have a laptop on the front desk... could have easily been stolen as no staff were about. Staff member then muttered something about it will be 20 mins for food. We promptly left and went next door. Ridiculous service. Avoid

Good value meal. Our server ( 9th November 2023 around 6pm) was a very nice young lady (didn’t catch her name) who was friendly and helpful. The food as very nice. The vegetable dumplings, fries and sweet and sour chicken were all very good. Would have rated this five star but the vegetable spring rolls were disappointing. The filling was a disappointing vegetable mush. Otherwise, this was a very enjoyable meal.

At first, this place was perfectly tailored and had a great amount of food. However, after they changed the menu, removing noodles and cutting portion sizes in half, it was no longer worth visiting. Prices almost doubled. Horrible move.

Don’t go here if you want the gluten-free options on their menu as they can’t be bothered to make them (despite us asking before we went in and before we ordered). Wasted 20 minutes of our time.

The food from the chef Islam and service from waiter Alex was very high quality. Food feels gourmet for the place it is in. Presentation is very good as well. A more casual place to sit and eat, even in the quiet evenings

Was thrust a menu and told to find a table and that someone would come and take an order. After 15 minutes of waiting, I left .

rice was good, it was sticky, sadly the young waitress is not smiling enough, like, find happiness little girl. Either way, we tried to get an explanation of the menu and she was mute, so the customer service wasn’t really on point. The atmosphere was okay, only a little people but the people there were talking really loudly, so meh. Also she smiled to us at the end so she gets 2 stars for service.

The staff was lovely the chef Islam was wonderful suthuti and Jackob was all great and very prompt would highly recommend coming in
