We celebrated our daughter's first birthday at The Swann Inn today, and it was nothing short of incredible! The space was absolutely humongous, comfortably accommodating our entire family and more. The warm and inviting fireplace added such a cosy touch to the atmosphere, making it the perfect setting for a family gathering. The service was impeccable—dedicated staff ensured that drinks were always flowing, and their attentiveness made the entire experience seamless. The food was outstanding, with everyone raving about the quality and flavour. It’s rare to find a place where every single dish impresses, but The Swann Inn delivered in every way. We’ve already decided that this will be ‘our family pub’ moving forward. It’s heartening to see that pubs like this still exist in our area—a proper gem! Thank you guys. Ben, Francesca and little Sienna.

From the moment we walked in and were greeted by the adorable Marley, I loved this little place! The owners were wonderful and very welcoming as was their dog, Marley. Great find on our way to Hayling Island. A warm welcome followed by a swift drinks order. Fantastic friendly service and outstanding food! I only wish we lived closer as this would most definitely be a regular for us. We will definitely re visit if we're coming this way in future. And I must mention it's dog friendly which is always a plus for me.

Will not be returning to this pub!! Booked a table here for our mums birthday, and sadly, it was the worst meal and experience. We received a call 10 minutes before our booking to tell us that all roast dinners had sold out (it was a sunday and we were already on our way after travelling 30 minutes to get to the pub). When we arrived, three of the starters were also unavailable, and the menu offered was absolutely poor. The table was not ready on arrival. Service was poor. The food was bad. Don't order the Korean chicken burger - the chicken is burnt, tough, chewy, and overcooked. Drinks took a long time to come that we had to ask for the order again. My little boy had to wait for sauce and resulted in having to leave our table to find a member of staff to remind them to bring it over. Overall, this pub was so disappointing. I will NOT return. Worst pub I have visited in a long time.

So.....long story short. My partner and I have driven past soooo many times saying "We must call in there some time" Today we did. So glad. Proper pub, proper service, proper food proper ale. Great menu choice, served all day. No problem getting seated in a nice little alcove for 2. BBQ menu, Sandwich menu and main pub classics menu. Great choice at a great price. 1 Fish finger sandwich and 1 Steak sandwich ordered. Service very quick. Drink order taken straight away and food arrived shortly after. Staff......amazing young crew. Met "The boss" as I was having a wander about having a nose around and he was keen to explain the history of the place to me. A touch of the old circa 16th century with the modern. Fabulous beer garden with plenty of secluded space. Complete with stream, bridge and Pooh Sticks instructions Absolutely fabulous find.....well we knew where it was ages ago....should have called in ages ago. Will definitely be back. SOON! Well, here we are on a lovely Sunday evening so the wife and I decide to go to the Swan at Newtown and have a drink and a bite to eat and take the dogs its a beautiful evening why not. So I rang the pub to just ask what time does the kitchen close only to be told in 5 minutes so basically 7pm !!!!! Well, I ask you, what sort of pub is this? Normally when I go there the food is pretty good and the service is the same but on a Sunday evening at 7pm its still 28 degrees outside and people are pouring in for food and drink and you want to close the kitchen! What type of business people are you?? You must be having a laugh between the hours of 7pm and 10pm you probably would have taken another £1000, if not more, are you totally stupid or what I must ask?? I get it, in the winter time you close early because of lack of trade but a night like tonight shame on you. I used to come once a week with my wife if not twice and spend between £100 and £150 every week. Well my friends not any more. I think you are pathetic and have no idea how to run a business successfully but then Ive heard this already from others that have been in and that actually drink in the pub that the owners attitude stinks and they haven't got a clue so I will not be coming in anymore and I will be telling a lot of others the same and if you knew how influential I was you would realise that you really need to leave the pub trade altogether and get jobs. To sum it all up your a JOKE!!

Great little pub hidden away. Food was absolutely gorgeous! You can sit outside next to the brook and it's very picturesque. Good food selection and fast service. It was unclear how you order food however, there were no menus on the tables and when I went up and asked a waitress (who was talking to her collegue) I was told I'd have to wait in line at the bar to get a menu from there. It wasn't the end of the world, but a very minor annoyance. Other than that, great little spot for food and a drink!

I've been to the Swan Inn a few times and it was lovely food and great service. It seems in the last year since our last visit the ownership has changed and there is noticeable change, the portion sizes for roast dinner are massive! I struggled to eat everything on the plate which in turn creates a lot of food waste, which is probably why everything there is now so expensive. Just two drinks and two roasts and the price was £52 including a "service charge" which always irritates me as tips are a gift not a right. A lemonade are £4, I mean come on guys that's just daylight robbery! Then we get to our table, my Mum was sat outwards and complained to me quietly about the staff passing her and constantly bashing into her chair, due to the kitchen being nearby. We then had a party group seated opposite us who were incredibly noisy and gave me a headache which is why we decided to just have our food and leave. Sorry to say it but I won't be returning here anymore if that's how the new management want to run things.

Another visit ... Seems the ownership has changed? Certainly menu is very different. Choice was somewhat limited, especially compared to previous menu. Three pig burger was nice; filling were good, fries were fine, but the burger was pink ? ... however as had been pointed out, it does have chorizo in it, so that could be the pink? Not good especially as its pork ... seriously thinking of sending it back 🤔 For me, a brioche bun is not a good choice for a burger, it falls apart when you pick it up 😕 Staff mainly friendly & helpful.

Dissapointing. We booked up for lunch to celebrate our wedding anniversary and made the mistake of not checking the menu first. Up to the recent change in ownership, the food had been consistently reliable. Unfortunately, the new 'fusion' menu only had a couple of items that we fancied eating. We would have had the pie but it had sold out so we ended up after a long wait with two watery Thai curries. The experiance was not enhanced by the strong smell eminating from the toilet next to our table every time the door opened. While the food was poor, the staff were friendly and tried to be helpful. To be fair, when the manager saw how upset we were by the whole experience he didn't charge us for the food.

We were both looking forward to our lunch but when we arrived we were told the festive menu had to be pre-booked, this was not on the website or the festive menu which I downloaded. UPDATE - all credit to restaurant who invited us back with an updated vegetarian menu and complementary meal. The quality was radically different for the mains this time. Both dishes we had were tasty and cooked well. Starter was good as before (this time we had a sharing board). Sat next to the fire which was nice too. Updated my star ratings to reflect this experience, though kept below review for reference. ORIGINAL REVIEW - Really disappointed with our meal yesterday. The menu was limited for a vegetarian, so I went for the Bean burger - it was not home made - likely previously frozen and shop bought - a very thin dry thing. The bun was also dry. Advertised as coming with hummus in the burger but the smallest amount given. Partner’s beef burger was also dry and disappointing. Starter Camembert was good and chips done well so a surprise for both mains to be so poor. Meant we didn’t dare try the dessert offering. Very frustrating to have spent around £70 overall on 2 drinks, 1 starter and 2 disappointing mains. Won’t be returning. Shame as we tried this to branch out from our regular local spots! Atmosphere and service fine however.

Some food was OK, and most arrived promptly, but another guest didn't get their food until everyone had finished eating. We had to find a manager and ask about the food, and then it turned up and was practically edible and wasn't eaten. We didn't have time to try and get it removed or sent back as we had somewhere to be and didn't want to wait any longer. We paid the bill in full, tipped the waitress as we know it wasn't her fault. Wouldn't eat here again it was worse, wagamama. I have been too across the south..

Nice pub with separate cosy looking bar and restaurant areas. Food was very good, clearly not 'ping' food and reasonably priced (for these days...) eg haddock fishcake £13.95, Sausage and Mash £12.50, Steak and Ale Pie £14.50. Desserts around £6.75 with mini dessert (small but ample) and hot drink only £5.50. Drink prices very reasonable as well Merlot 250ml £6.95, Doombar £4.70. Close to Bombay Sapphire Distillery so good place to stop for a meal after visiting.
