The best restaurants in Ribble Valley North West

Our first visit, what a treat! A lovely old pub, comfortably furnished, nice ambience, & friendly efficient staff. We both ordered the venison dish, sooo delicious, lovely tender meat, tasty jus, dauphinois potatoes & fresh veg ( could've done with more veg ) Couldn't fault any of it, worthy of five stars..

I feel I should edit my review. I would not recommend the chop suey, as I had this last time, and it wasn't to my taste. I don't recommend the soups either, however, I'm changing my review from 3* to 5* as the duck was perfect last time, and the sweet and sour chicken is very nice. The salt and pepper chips are nice also. I'd like it be to a little more salty and peppery but they are good :) The delivery was very early, which was great. I'd say your duck was the best in Longridge, and for that, and the fact the food was nice today, I no longer feel the previous 3* rating is appropriate. I'd rate tonight's meal as a 4 and the duck from last time as 5* therefore, always best to round up :) Thank you for the delicious meal this evening.

Waited absolutely ages to get served. Food took forever to arrive and it was disappointing. Used to come quite often but it has gradually got worse. We won’t be coming back.

Went for lunch and tried to scan the menu to order at the table. The pub did not come up. There was meal deals with a drink for extra £1. We ordered food and was told no drinks where on the deal. Why advertise a deal ? Left and went to the Dog Inn. Busy, pleasant, good food.

Poor. They got my order wrong and a manager? Simply came over said something about a confusing order and took it way (implying it was my fault!) they brought it back later and the chips were raw. There was no atmosphere at all. It was expensive for what it was. My pie was not good at all.

We stayed in a cottage just up the road, and having enjoyed lunch when we first arrived, we went again a few days later. Food and service were excellent, the pies in particular were really tasty. They serve a variety of beers, with the standout for me being the Bowland Brewery Hen Harrier. Rooms appear to be reasonably priced, there are great walks in the area and Clitheroe, Whalley and Skipton are not far away. We may well stay here in the future, particularly as dogs are welcomed.

Absolutely terrible After 2 minute drive home chicken probed at 12 degrees. Limp cold fillets Chips ok but had a bit of a old fat taste Definitely gone down hill recently. Use to be our go to take away. Now our stay away from take away

We had a package weekend break away with Holmes Mill Hotel that included an evening meal at The Emporium. We had an excellent meal, the lamb shank was outstanding as was the lentil dhal, great service and highly recommend.

Appalled to find most of the staff not wearing face masks,only one female member of staff was exempt.Considering the infection rate is rising , particularly in the north west I find this extremely worrying.

We wanted a midday alcoholic drink, and seeing that Maxwells was a cafe/bar we headed inside. It was busy/bordering on chaotic with the most disorganised of service. We said we just wanted drinks and were seated.. and then the wait began. Despite tables around us being served, we were totally ignored, so after waiting for what we thought was a reasonable length of time, (we weren't in a rush!), we left.

First of all, Car Park was good lots of room. The outside of the place was really nice Long wait just to order our food by this time we had been there well over an hour also by this time our drinks were empty. We had to ask someone if we could order food and get s some more drinks Finally, we got our food. When the food came more disappointments the garlic mushrooms were cold. The salad wasn’t fresh. Steak was charred that much it just left a burnt taste in your mouth, the mash potatoes was really dry. A family meal just spoiled Would I go back. No Not recommend

Excellent Christmas dinners had by all, juicy turkey, goose fat roasties and the veg was cooked perfectly. Had the creamy garlic mushrooms with vol-au-vent pastry to start, delicious and as always excellent service.

The food was great overall, the chicken wings weren’t the best i’ve had but definitely not the worst. However, the service made up for it - a really polite young blonde girl called lily made our night, will love revisiting.

Worse food ever Friday night only 2 tables in was dead quiet not busy for Friday and food was terrible the staff were racist calling us ‘ pakis ‘and we not even Muslim not like that should matter what culture or religion we are but the staff manager was rude and was disrespectful and would not recommend ever going there again ! Avoid at all costs
