Our 2nd stay in the ‘Piggeries’ it was so good we came back a week later! Nothing too much trouble for the lovely, friendly staff. Ed the landlord was exceptional. Room so clean and cozy. Beautiful country pub with an amazing menu with local fresh food. Our new favourite place. Thank you ☺️

Margarine response !!!!!!! Ummmmm... That a very interesting (and clever) response to my review listed below! Firstly, I never mentioned the sandwich on that visit. I just left most of it, as I suspected margarine. Not sure how your staff will have recollected the interaction on that visit!! Secondly, it was only on our subsequent visit I then asked if it was margarine they used on sandwiches, as was going to try another. The waitress replied that it was, so I said ‘Ok, ill order something else then” there was no offer of butter........ Not sure how a staff member would also have recollected that interaction........ Thirdly…. Why would I have Margarine if I was offered butter ….. Finally…. I think my review history will demonstrate the fairness and integrity of my reviews…. I think your response raises questions other than just the margarine issue.... but I’m sure other viewers will read into it what they will .....!

Arrived after a long walk, and looking for somewhere to eat. Had a drink in bar but completely put off by consistent swearing (f***ing) in front of every noun by clientele in bar. No need at all, even when we moved tables, still could hear. Small girl about 6, in and out of bar, didn’t stop the foul language. Will not recommend for families or quiet drinks.

Having been recommended here by a friend we decided to go for breakfast. Wow! What an amazing experience. All the staff were very polite, friendly and helpful. A lovely member of staff showed us where to go for breakfast. The breakfast was amazing! Everything was cooked to perfection and very tasty. The atmosphere and layout of the eatery was perfect. It was spacious and a little quirky which we both really like. The garden centre itself is lovely. It is easy to navigate and plenty of lovely things for both the home and garden. Will certainly be going again. Also this is somewhere that the weather doesn’t spoil it.

Made a special trip to Clitheroe to visit Doe, as on social media, the doughnuts look AMAZING!!! What a disappointment, the shop is beyond tatty and really needs sprucing up. The doughnuts I suspect are cheap wholesale mass purchased and all Doe Bakehouse do is decorate them. I doubt the doughnuts are made by them, they are just decorators! The doughnuts were a huge disappointment!! They are ring doughnuts so cant have a filling, then they slap a load of tasteless filling on top to hide the hole. They were dry, stale, tasteless and quite frankly in-edible, and after spending £24 i was astonished!! don't get sucked in to the hype people! What's that saying?? you cant polish a turd... sorry I mean doughnut!!! which is exactly what these guys are trying to do!!

The food was amazing not too big portions. Unfortunately the service let our experience down there seemed to be lots of staff seemingly busy but not doing much. It would be better if one waiter was responsible for a cluster of tables we didn’t know who to ask when our drinks were left on the bar for 20 minutes or more got the attention of quite a few waiters but still no drinks very frustrating as I could see them on the bar!!! It was busy but honestly waiters rushing up and down past the table spoilt the evening when the service was just mediocre.

Myself and my husband took my mother in law here for her birthday. We book the traditional afternoon tea. It was a bit of a drive out from where we live but worth it. On entering the hotel we did notice it was very cold and in need of updating, rather dark but quiet. We had a drink before we went to our table and sat by the fireplace. The afternoon tea was by far the nicest one we have had in a while. The food was delicious and we couldn't finish it all so even took some home with us. All hot drinks are included and were all really nice. Other than it being a bit cold the actual afternoon tea was wonderful and we will 100% go back again.
