Booked for my daughter's baby shower - 5 adults and 3 children.... beautiful venue but young, inexperienced staff, who, whilst very willing forgot drinks, had to be chased up to clear table, didn't ask if everything was ok or if we wanted more drinks. We pre-ordered afternoon tea which took forever to come and when it did the sandwiches had obviously been sat for some time as they were not fresh. No teaspoons provided for the dessert which needed a spoon. VERY slow service. It cannot be blamed on being busy either as there was only 2 other tables taken with a total of 5 other people dining so poor, slow service cannot even be blamed on that. After the visit 4 of the adults were ill, as this was the only common factor, we have contacted Mitton Hall but.... guess what?!.... no response!! Seems like they are only interested in getting the bookings in (especially from overpriced weddings).

Very sad to be writing this review, as we got married here in 2017 and had the most amazing day. Today, we took out family here for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The place is looking quite tired and uncared for. Sooty marks up the wall, bathrooms in need of updating and sticky tables. Bar food was average, but service was the worst I can ever remember having. Courses weren't served together and served without cutlery, that we had to chase. Our party ended up eating their meals at different times, with my husband and I's meals being cold as we had had to wait for cutlery. Chased for drinks, for plates to be cleared. Given a menu without desserts on it to choose desserts from. Children given different flavour of icecream and our desserts never arrived. We're refunded when we were told we would have to wait an extra 20 minutes for them. Such a shame. I wonder what the future is for such a stunning venue. I hope someone, somehow manages to haul it out of this state. For now, we won't be going back, unless it's just for a quick drink and some memories.

Visited Saturday 24 February 2024 for afternoon tea for 3 of us. Met by friendly member of staff who showed us to our table. We had just sat down and was asked if we wanted a drink, we were wanting a cocktail with our afternoon tea, so asked if we could have 5 mins to look at the cocktail menu, they went away, 30 seconds later another member of staff came and asked the same question. Felt rushed into making a decision at the time. Food and drinks all arrived within 10 minutes. Presentation was good, however on tasting the sandwiches we all agreed the bread tasted stale and dry. The rest of the food was ok. As soon as the staff had put the food out, they never once came and asked if everything was OK or if we needed more drinks - hot or cold. In fact the staff where nowhere to be seen until we were ready to pay and leave and even then we had to get there attention to as for the bill. At the time if our visit there was a wedding on, so we believe the staff were all there at the wedding and forgot us. I would expect Mitton Hall to employ more staff so as to give great service to all visitors to the hall, as £32.50 is a lot of money to pay for stale sandwiches and lack of attention from staff. All in all, very disappointing, we don't recommend it and we certainly won't be returning.

There really are some great places to eat around the Ribble Valley. We have been to Mitton Hall quite a few times and what a brilliant venue. We ate in the bar area and even though there was also a wedding on, we had a great time Sandwich menu on an afternoon is limited but the food is good We were served by James, who only joined recently - he seems to be settling in really well, and provided great service and a very friendly manner Got to mention the special fireplaces - so welcoming especially in winter !

We were not impressed by the Afternoon Tea. It lacked substance (one or two bites at most) and balance - I have a sweet tooth but found some things sickly such as the choc & hazelnut rocher, the posset and the goats cheese/fig tart. The flapjack was very dry and the scone over baked and crumbly. The soup was unpleasantly "hot" in that I only tasted chili and coriander. The tea, wine, salmon "sandwich", slice of sausage roll, ginger crunch (flavour, it didn't crunch) and chipolata were good. I felt embarrassed but did my best to eat it all as it was a treat for a friend's birthday - she did the same to be polite I'm sure - and we were hungry, other afternoon tea venues have seen us taking cakes home!! We managed to laugh our way through it - it is a lovely venue and the staff were excellent but this offering is way down on our list of afternoon teas in Lancashire and we have done a few! Please revisit your recipes and stop overdoing things - there is perfection to be found in classic Victoria sandwich, trifle and vol au vents! p.s. I know there was a wedding on and it was busy but the loos needed a bit of attention too. Signed by a cake baker...

Absolutely awful, walked in, told we couldn’t sit where we had booked and only option was to sit in the restaurant where the lights weren’t even on. Staff didn’t care. Place looked untidy, we immediately left and went across the road to The Aspinall Arms where welcome was warm and the staff couldn’t have been anymore helpful.

A small party of us went for lunch to celebrate a 60th birthday. Having been to Mitton Hall previously I knew it to be a lovely venue and to this end my family and I were not disappointed. The food was equally good once it had finally arrived. We waited over an hour for the starters and a further 40 minutes for the main. The young female waiting staff were useless. Didn’t know anything about the menu, forgot to bring things to the table when asked and when reminded we’re actually quite rude. Things improved once the main meal had been served due to the appearance of a more professional young man who was more attentive. When you pay just short of £300 for a lunch for 4 you expect better. Will not go again

I went due to my wife conducting a wedding there. I sat in the most amazing great hall with a magnificent fireplace. The place just breathes history. We had a drink and a most delicious beef, sourdough toasted sandwich. This came with chunky chips, coleslaw. It was excellent and not expensive. I had the chance to go in both the bar and dining room, both are visually stunning and in keeping with the building. Can't wait to go again

Booked for nye online, there was an option for the bar/bistr menu so opted for this as we didn't want the gala all nighters menu (we wanted to ear & leave), got an email 7 days before our booking to say we had booked the gala nye celebrations!! After trying half the day to get through, I eventually got to speak to someone, who then told me there was no bistro menu for nye! I wouldn't mind but I had booked well in advance & no one had contacted me! Rubbish customer service & all I got was sorry but tough! Had to find somewhere else last min! Not happy tbh!

A stunning property with a beautiful interior that once served great local produce, efficiently and with attentiveness. Sadly, it’s just another low/mid range pub lunch now. No real welcome, no drinks menu and had to share the tatty main menu. I felt like Jeremy Beadle was going to pop out at some point as it was so faulty towers feeling. The waiter was pleasant enough but awkward. Ordered two drinks and they came as completely different drinks because they didn’t have the ones we’d chosen… I mean that’s just not done, someone substitutes your drink without consultation and the waiter, when asked if he was joking, just said no and walked away?! I won’t carry on with the rest of the oddities but needless to say we had our mains, which were plain, settled up and went elsewhere for dessert and drinks. Sad.

We love this wonderful place. Mitton Hall has been our family go-to for memorable celebrations, weddings and quiet lunches and dinners for years and I’ve also booked it on many occasions for away days with my management team. It is a beautiful building inside and out and in a lovely setting. My wife and I have just had a birthday celebration lunch here with our little grandson who duly obliged us by sleeping in his pushchair through the starters and mains and being enchanted by everything he saw when he woke up. Everything here is a plus. The staff are warm and attentive. The table linen, glassware and cutlery are laid out perfectly, the music is unobtrusive, the seating is comfortable with cushions aplenty and there’s oodles of room. The food is superb. We had outstanding duck rillettes and tempura prawns for starters. Linguine with prawns and a fantastic burger for our mains [I usually have a steak and they cook them to perfection] and we had apple millefeuille for dessert. [They also produced a lovely Happy Birthday chocolate message on a wooden board] The beers start at £4.20 a pint [sorry to gloat, Londoners] and wines start at an incredible £18.50 a bottle. When our little boy woke up we went over to the lounge where we sat by a great log fire [it gets cold up North, you win that one, Londoners]. They brought him a book of stickers to play with and served a great cappuccino. A perfect birthday lunch in a Ribble Valley jewel. A feeling of luxury without pretentious prices. Unbeatable.

This is a stunning old building with mainly original features, some dating back to 1189. Has to be seen to be believed. Our room was not large but had everything you need and had an exceedingly comfortable bed and was spotlessly clean. Then downstairs in the hall there is a large lounging area with a fire. The bar sells exceptionally good coffee. Friendly staff and lots of parking space.

I’ve been a patron of Mitton Hall for 13 years, we have always enjoyed our visits and look forward to coming for good food and drink. We attended as a treat for my in laws it’s the first time since covid that we’ve been back to mitton hall. We booked ahead and arrived on time. There was a wedding on which was fine as we’ve been before when there’s events on. It was over an hour from first sitting down to our starters coming out. It was over half an hour for our non alcoholic drinks to arrive and it was 2 hours after arriving when our mains finally came to the table. The service was so slow and the wait staff seemed unfriendly and unbothered. The exact opposite of previous experiences here. In the past the staff have been incredible. The food was…ok. Just ok. The 1 star is for catering for gluten free without issue. My husband went to use the mens bathroom to find the floor absolutely saturated in pee. When my mother in law went to the bathroom she said there wasn’t running water in the womens bathroom. This isn’t the service we are used to with Mitton Hall. It’s supposed to be a luxury but I felt disappointed and like we could have got better service from almost any other restaurant in the area. From reading other reviews it seems like this is the venue deciding to put events first above their diners. If that’s the case they should close to diners then they can focus on events without ruining the reputation of Mitton hall. Unless something drastically changes we won’t be back.

We won’t be coming back. This was an awful experience all round. Five of us went on Sunday for my mum’s birthday. I chose this restaurant because of the menu on the website, however when we arrived only a set Sunday lunch was available. The website does not mention this at all. We were seated and the chairs were far too low for the table we could almost rest our chins on the table. One of the glasses had heavy lipstick marks. The starters were nice but the service was slow and one came out significantly after the others. Four of the main courses arrived together, my daughter was served the side dish of cauliflower cheese, we had to point out that this was not her meal. It was left in front of her and was too hot to pick up with only paper napkins. Her meal came out five minutes later. The meals were oddly sized. My husband and his mum had pork belly and fish, these were nice sized meals. my mum and I had roast beef, my daughter had risotto and these were huge compared to the others. The veg on my mother in law’s food was cold. The Yorkshire puddings were stale. We were asked if our food was ok but the waitress turned and left before any of us had chance to answer. It was seemingly a rhetorical question. We ordered drinks at the start of our meal I had to ask where they were and we had almost finished by the time somebody bothered to return with them. The service was slow and almost non-existent. We suggested the waitress remove the empty glasses when she brought our drinks as she had no intention of doing so and it was obviously too much trouble. Two other tables were near us and both complained. Watching the response the restaurant manager gave to another table it seemed there was little point raising any issues, she stood with her hand on her hip, agreed it wasn’t very good and walked away. All focus was on two events ongoing. Eat anywhere but here. There are much better places.

We visited for our anniversary after getting married here which was magical and the food was amazing. However on returning I was disappointed by the limited menu, the bar menu being discontinued and their attempt at making a lunch menu by simply asking you to pick a sandwich off the afternoon tea menu. The steak burger was cheap tasting which is a shame for a country restaurant when local meat could be sourced- to top it off it was over cooked but we received an apology and 20% off the burger however I didn’t eat it so this was a little insulting. They serve the burgers on wood plates that didn’t look hygienic and would of been hard to eat the burger off. The option to order a sandwich off the afternoon tea menu was offered due to discontinuing the bar menu. However for £9 was a plain ham sandwich on standard white bread with chips. Not the gourmet style food we was used to from mitton hall. It presents like they are cutting corners to save money. I hope this was a bad day experience and not what mitton hall is becoming. I hope to return to be proven wrong

Not a great welcome and nobody introduced themselves, just pointed to a table in a very quiet room with no atmosphere. Waited an age for drinks and the food order was taken before receiving our drinks. The starters were very good to be fair and we thought we were going to be in for a great night then the mains arrived.... my fish was so over cooked it was like cotton wool. The duck breast was also over cooked to the point that it was grey in colour. The chicken dish was just ok. The rib eye steak had a revolting tasting gravy on the side. The “ triple cooked” chips had no seasoning and were bland. No crunch as you would expect. The puddings were no better. After waiting 25 mins we were told there would be a further delay as there was a problem in the kitchen ( no chef probably)The Manchester custard resembled a hash brown and tasted terrible. My panna cotta was bland served with a few sweet bits on the side that did nothing for the dish. The melt in the middle chocolate pud was just ok, the hazelnut ice cream with it looked like cottage cheese. Nobody asked us how our food was which should be standard. Wouldn’t return £218.00 for 4.

This place caters for weddings and I can see why. You drive in and go WOW. The staff were all smart and we were treated very well all the way through dinner. The food was wonderful, and atmosphere excellent. Would go back here as felt spoilt and you left with a really good feeling.

I visited Mitton Hall on Saturday with my mum and Grandma for a late birthday treat. I have never been before and the building was beautiful. We were greeted by a huge Christmas tree and roaring fire in the lounge area. We were slightly early for our reservation so we took the time to relax near the fire and order some cocktails (which were delicious).

I reviewed Mitton Hall back in July, revisited in September which was not as good an experience and went today for lunch and there is just too much inconsistency. I notice the vegan menu has changed slightly since my previous visits with price increases so main courses are now at £17 to £17.50. I dine out alot as can be seen by my review record and I don't mind paying for good food but at the end of the day vegan dishes are way cheaper to produce. I checked the normal A La Carte menu and notice a breast of chicken dish priced at £18 with pancetta & Gruyere cheese, stuffed potato, mushrooms, carrot and onion foam is basically one of the vegan dishes with all the meat & cheese removed but yet the vegan version is only 50p cheaper. It is the same with other dishes too.

The restaurant is cosy with a log burner, and very pleasant, the food is very good however the duck I had was slightly overcooked. some of the menu items are a little pretentious however and it seems to be trying too hard, a more relaxed menu would be better, however overall the meal was very good - PLEASE have an option for standard biscuits with cheese (not artisan biscuits) - The serving staff are very good and helpful :)

We were all completely enchanted by the building and setting of the venue before we even entered Mitton Hall. Once we stepped inside we were not disappointed. So, after enjoying a warm welcome we sat and had a drink in the main hall, which had a roaring log fire, before being shown to our table. We were seated in the window where we were able to watch the photographer doing his job with the wedding photographs being taken in the lovely grounds. The food was superb and our New Zealand visitor, who was celebrating her birthday, was completely taken aback with the complimentary birthday “cake” and glass of champagne that was presented to her after the meal. As I have said the food was excellent, the surroundings were excellent but the stand out feature for all of us was the wonderful staff. Every single member of staff we had contact with was excellent from the reception, the bar and the waiter service, every person was happy, engaging, helpful and a delight to deal with. Our visitor from abroad was enormously impressed and thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, as did all four of us. Thanks very much Mitton Hall.

Had lunch at 'Mitton Hall' for my Wife's birthday yesterday and found it to be completely super! It was a beautiful day and the building looked very impressive but there was still a roaring fire in the Great Hall which made you want to go and sit by it in one of the huge comfortable sofas. We were offered a drink in the bar before taking our table in the dining room. The menu was tempting and varied and lived up to the description in type. The Duck Salad starter was mouth-watering as was the chicken main course. The puddings were also a delight. The Pineapple and Cocoanut Bavarois was beautiful. Then coffee was served in the Great Hall. The food was beautiful and the service so very friendly, it was just perfect! We will be back!

Came for afternoon tea for my mums birthday. When I booked I had informed them it was her birthday. They presented her with a small cake with a candle and a complimentary drink, which was a very nice suprise. The afternoon tea was lovely, and there was plenty; we couldn't finish it all. The dining area was quiet and we could sit and watch the world go by outside. We were there quite a while and we weren't rushed or pestered but at the same time were checked on enough to make sure we were enjoying the food and had drinks etc. Lovely atmosphere. Well worth the price. Highly recommended.

Need I say more!

I am vegetarian (but don't eat dairy) and wasn't looking forward to eating out at Mitton Hall due to the extremely limited vegatarian menu. I was however extremely happy when I learned I could order from the bar menu. I ordered tempura vegetables and the crispy tofu (which is described as vegetarian) and seasonal vegetables (without butter).I was really happy when the food came and tasted great. I even put a picture up on my Instagram account to say how happy I was about the small dishes on offer despite the seemingly poor options for vegetarians on the main menu. After having eaten a few of the pieces of tofu I cut into something that was very clearly not tofu. At the time I assumed it was chicken. I was completely horrified and practically in tears. I haven't eaten meat in years and the fact that was served to me on a plate mixed in with apparently vegetarian food make me feel physically sick. Needless to say I didn't eat anymore of any of my food. When I told the waitress who was serving her, both her and the Manager apologised to me, in way that seemed to me comparable to how somebody would apologise if someone's order had come out cold, not in a way that a vegetarian had been served a dead animal.Nothing else was mentioned by staff for the entirety of the meal whilst the rest of the table ate their food and I ate nothing. I expected a more sincere apology and also would have expected the chef to come out and explain how this could have happened, yet nothing. One of the waitresses also nonchalantly said "actually it's pork not chicken," as though that should in any way appease me.My food was taken off the bill, as it should have been but I felt that the whole situation was handled extremely badly. I told a waitress this and she brought the Manager over to speak to me again. I spoke about how upset I had been and that I had been almost in tears and felt physically sick. She apologised multiple times and asked me if there is anything I wanted. I don't necessarily think it should be on the customer to tell the Manager how it should be rectified, it should be down to the Manager and staff to do everything they can to try to make the experience better. The whole experience had made me and the rest of the table really question about the food standards at the restaurants. It should be impossible for meat to be mixed in with a portion of tofu, which makes me think that they are cooked together. This means that countless vegetarians would have unwittingly been fed meat. I was assured that this wasn't the case but I don't see how this could be explained otherwise. When we asked how it happened the Manager stated that she couldn't get a reasonable answer out of the chef. What kind of chef has no idea what is going onto a plate that they are serving? It is really worrying also for individuals who have allergies who cannot be confident about what they are being served.Myself and the rest of the party agreed that this is the most horrific thing we have ever experienced when dining out, something that I am still deeply upset about.

Having met with friends at a number of restaurants and pubs in the area for Sunday lunch......we gave Mitton Hall a try a few months ago. This review comes after our fourth visit......yet again, we weren't disappointed. To begin....the setting is beautiful. We have now visited in all seasons, the wettest dreariest day to spring sunshine ......the gardens are stunning. Once inside, the warm and cosy surroundings make you feel comfortable instantly. We had Sunday lunch and whilst the menu isn't extensive, there is enough choice. (This is also a great place for afternoon tea.....Which looked amazing!)The food is superb...the service is attentive but not overbearing. After lunch we had coffee in one of the comfortable lounges. There is also plenty of seating on the patio. Mitton Hall was,for us, a great find. We will be back very soon.

Booked a surprise afternoon tea for my hubby's 50th yesterday. When we arrived we were taken to our table which was in the brasserie area near to the window. We were asked if we wanted to ordered any drinks & also given the menu to choose our afternoon tea. Since I booked the menu had changed. We opted for the cocktail afternoon tea. We both had porn star martinis which lovely. We asked to changed 2 of the sandwiches which was no problem. Our afternoon tea arrived after around 10 mins & was served on a slate stand. The food was all delicious, we really enjoyed the cheese straws, mini scones with clotted cream & also the processco jelly. After our food we decided to go outside onto the terrace area overlooking the river to enjoy some drinks. Whilst enjoying the sunshine my husband was brought a lovely token gesture on slate- with happy 50th birthday written in white chocolate served with some fruit. We shared the terrace area with some wedding guests who we chatted to. A fabulous afternoon in beautiful surroundings. We will be back

I booked afternoon tea here as part of out anniversary celebrations. Neither of us had been here before so we were both looking forward to something new. Mitton hall has plenty of character and looked splendid today hosting a wedding. The staff were all very pleasant and welcoming. We had the champagne afternoon teas that consisted of a small selection of sandwiches and plenty of sweets including scones, tarts, cakes and macaroons. All were served beautifully and tasted nice too. Overall very nice and excellent service. Highly recommend.

Been here many times before but this time we went for the 10 course seafood themed tasting menu with 4 friends as we have done the tasting menus elsewhere before, this didn't disappoint as I knew it wouldn't from past experiences here, the value of £45 per person for me was a great offer wine pairing was available but we where all driving so we couldnt do that unfortunately, I will be keeping a look out for other menus and offers like this as we will certainly go back again, for me maybe just one small gripe and that would be it could have been a little more involved with the seafood side of things on the menu but still a great experience.

We came here for a Sunday lunch after church.Wasn't cheap but the food is very well presented and tasty. Worth a visit if you have the coffers and are in the area. The only thing to bear in mind is that this is primarily a wedding venue so sometimes you can feel a bit of a gooseberry with wedding guests in the foyer if there is an event on the same day - you won't get your relaxing post-meal coffee/drink in the hallway or bar.Plenty of free parking

We seem to have got increasing picky when eating out - I blame all those tv cookery shows! However, here at Mitton Hall we were not disappointed.Having got an excellent B and B deal, and having read the TA reviews, we were looking forward to our dinner - and were not disappointed. We decided to treat ourselves and chose from the a la carte - though to be honest it seemed pretty reasonably priced, even more so when we tasted the quality of the food. A rabbit starter and a pork terrine were followed by belly pork and a chicken dish - the simplicity of my description does them no justice at all! But suffice it to say, there were lots of contented mmms and aahs. Service was sufficiently well paced to ensure we had room for dessert - a baked cheesecake and a coffee bavarois. There is a good wine list, with some sensibly priced options. All in all, an excellent evening which left us feeling comfortably replete.

First visit to Mitton Hall Brasserie, our evening visit was for a taster event. Lovely venue, warm welcoming and gorgeous luxe decor. Food was well presented and in generally good, but one or two of the courses where on the cold side when being served, plus the descriptions on the menu where brief and I felt a couple of the dishes where in the wrong order. Good value for a 10 course taster at £45 per head. Service was good.

If you'd have told me a few years ago that I'd be going for afternoon tea, I would have laughed at you, I must have mellowed. My other half wanted to do something quintessentially British and decided on afternoon tea.... she booked online and today we went up to Mitton Hall. What a brilliant place. Stunning building with amazing decor, open fires burning and welcoming staff. The afternoon tea was exquisite; all freshly made with sandwiches and the cakes were out of this world. There didn't seem like tyere was much to begin with but by the end, I was stuffed. Dare I admit that I can't wait to go again sometime, maybe for the dinner menu.

I really can't believe this place is on my doorstep and that I've only recently discovered just how good it is.Since discovering it just over a month ago I have returned two further times. Our first visit was on a Sunday afternoon and we ate from the Sunday lunch menu. We could not find a fault with anything. On our second visit we ate from the bar snack menu as we had not booked an there were no tables available in the resturant. The bar snack was perfectly fine and faultless, however, I did feel a little cheated as I was aware just how outstanding the full Sunday lunches are... We have returned again today, ensuring I'd booked a table in advance. We ate from the Christmas festive menu and yet again the food and service was outstanding. I am baffled as to why Mitton Hall Brasserie is not at the top of the Tripadvisor list for the area, it really does present fabulous value for money. Superb friendly service with staff who deserve great praise for making guests feel welcome and valued. The food, is some of the best we've had in the UK. On to if all that, the setting is gorgeous. You really must give this local gem a try, you won't be disappointed.

Just home after a very dissapointing Sunday lunch with 3 friends .Service was very slow .Glass on table had to be changed lipstick marked. Food was poor main course was cool my beef had been carved with the grain instead of against making it tough .When I mentioned this to the waitress she said she would tell the chief ,when I asked for his comments she shrugged her shoulders. We had to wait an exceptionally long time for dessert I choose panna cotta it was tasteless. I know there was a wedding going on at the same time as we were dinning but the staffing levels should have been able to cope with lunch time dinners as well as a Wedding .My friend and I did feel like second class citizens to the wedding party. That is my opinion based on experience. We will not be returning or recommending this establishment.

I was part of a party of four out to celebrate my father's 80th birthday, so basically myself, my father and my sister with her partner.I'd previously worked for a former owner of Mitton Hall and had been in charge of the landscaping and subsequent maintenance for a few years, so was interested to to visit again after a 10 year absence to see how the place had changed, and of course I knew what a great venue Mitton Hall was. After having a walk from the car park round to the rear of Mitton, beside the stream, we entered through the rear entrance and had a round of drinks before sitting down next to the log fire.We were 20 minutes early for our 2.30pm table.A member of staff was informed that we had a table booked, but at 2.45pm my sister had to remind the lady on the counter, and immediately we were led in to be sat down. The menu is limited to five or six starters, mains and sweets, but with a three course meal costing a reasonable £25.00.I ordered the fishcake which was excellent, whilst the others ordered that days soup which drew very positive comments.Complimentary bread and butter was provided and again this was delicious. For my main I had lamb. Very tasty indeed, though it should be noted the portions weren't as large as I'm used to which isn't a criticism as such as the quality was impeccable. Very, very tasty indeed, both the lamb and the potato. My sister ordered the steak, which was to be cooked medium, but this arrived having been cooked rare/medium rare, so basically only the outer quarter/half inch was cooked, the rest was bloody.I notice that another reviewer made a similar comment, and different chefs do appear to have different ideas as to what constitutes medium/medium rare/rare.On this occasion it did ruin my sister's main course, hence the dropped star on what would otherwise have been a five star review. The sweets were all delicious, and in general the comments were of how tasty every course was.For the quality of the food then, the price was very reasonable and I'm sure we'll visit again, only next time the steak will be asked to be well done, and if it isn't it'll be sent back for a few more minutes under the grill.

The boys had been given a small biscuit to have with their drink while waiting. All the meals were beautifully presented and really tasty. The toilet facilities were very clean. We were parked right outside. Nothing to gripe about here! The restaurant area was full by the time we left. Full marks ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Come here quite a lot for lunch however note price rises since our last visit. No problem with that as costs increase and is to be expected from time to time but they do seem a bit steep. BUT.. margarine on sandwiches. Suspect this is cost cutting as opposed to healthy eating reasons. Who uses marguerite these days… on a £10 sandwich. Shame as we used to like this place. Wil be interesting to see if it remains as busy now. We will probably start going elsewhere now for a light lunch as prices no more competitive and margarine is a no no!
