Derby Arms in Ribble Valley

Absolutely lovely place. Food was amazing, great choice on the menu. Atmosphere was welcoming but not intrusive. Staff friendly and welcoming.

Great welcome, lovely staff, great room and bathroom. Wonderful beer, tasty cider, Dinner was superb the breakfast large, tasty and well cooked. ( I had full English my wife full vegetarian)

We stayed over as part of a special offer. The room was very comfortable. Our dinner was perfect. All staff are very helpful and friendly. Service was excellent even though they were really busy. Would recommend the steak and sticky toffee pudding. The area is lovely for walking. Thanks for a great night.

Had yet another amazing meal here today. I had the Fish, Lettuce and Tomato on a brioche. OMG! it was absolutely gorgeous the fish was in a light batter with plenty of fish inside, comes with Tartare sauce although I asked not to have any as I don't like it; which was no problem. My daughter had the Maylsian Curry and Coconut Rice which was also top quality and very tasty. Sorry no photo afraid by time I thought to take photo she'd eaten it. The service was very good and the young lady and young gent who was working his first shift were very helpful and attentive. If you want quality food with amazing service look no further this is the place to go and treated to wonderful food and fabulous service.

Went for xmas lunch. Rushed. Not personal in any way. Most of the food was inedible. Emailed them about our issues. They responded, apologising and wanting to encourage us not to write them off as a venue by offering us vouchers. We accepted, vouchers never received. Won't be returning. Haighton Manor for us next Xmas 😊 #they think their food/hospitality is far better than it is

Came here with my family for a boxing day meal. The staff were very polite and made sure we were never without a drink, food came out fast and was up to a high standard, Was overall a very satisfactory experience and would definitely recommend!

My husband and I just love this pub. We combine a dog walk from the top park with food and drink. The fires are always lit and the pub is welcoming. The hasselback butternut squash from their festive menu is outstanding. Delicious ingredients, flavours and textures, wow.

Went for dinner. Starters were nice. My partner's main was okay. My main was awful and I didn't eat it. Its to expensive for the quality of food on offer. The wine was nice but again slightly to expensive. Service was slow and not very attentive. Beautiful pub but unfortunately wouldn't return.

Visited Santa brunch with my 2 grandchildren aged 6 and 11 today and just want to say what a great time we had. The food was generous and completely delicious and visit to Santa by a traditional fireplace was really well done There were gifts for the children and a festive atmosphere All the staff were polite and looked after us really well Highly recommended

Lovely pub, inside & out. Staff friendly & efficient. The food was good, but not great (for the money). I had £9.95 ROAST BEEF BLOOMER Caramelised onion, mayonnaise, horseradish, and watercress. I added chips £4.75 Couldn’t taste the horseradish at all. For £15 for a sandwich & chips you expect it to be pretty good, I’m afraid for me it just wasn’t special enough, at that price for a cold sandwich & chips. Probably go back & try something else, might be I just picked the wrong dish!

We came across this pub online & decided to give it a try Lovely looking outside and large car park Lovely country interior Nice varied menu, specials board and we chose the Sunday roasts. We had the Porchetta ( pork) & the beef The portions were huge. You could have the beef pink or more well cooked which I chose but I gave it to my husband as I struggled with it as it still wasn’t cooked enough for me personally The potatoes veg and Yorkshire was nice and the gravy made it which was lovely We chose the baked cheesecake each for dessert which for me was dry and disappointing We would come again but I would make different choices next time I think we were overcharged for a Diet Coke which didn’t arrive

My daughter and I went for some Lunch today. We were greeted as we entered and straight away made to feel very welcome. Two lovely owners who nothing was too much trouble. My daughter just wanted to get out as she is going to give birth any day now; we were not disappointed with this gem of a place. We are both Vegan and we were very pleased with the Vegan options on the menu, which you can see from the photos looks amazing. The Food was absolutely amazing, delicious, great portions, great value, tasty and so very well presented. We will be back here as soon as we can, going to try the Sunday lunches hopefully very soon. Thank you to everyone at The Derby Arms for really taking such care today.

We discovered the Derby Arms having circled the Ribble Valley unsuccessfully looking for Sunday lunch without a prior booking. Warmly welcomed I was delighted to be seated promptly with a lovely glass of champagne(often not available by the glass in a pub) whilst reviewing the traditional menu-perfect. We both ordered Sunday lunch which was delicious, well cooked with good selection of seasonal veg. We then chose to move outside and enjoy our puddings in the last of the afternoon sun with a delicious Chardonnay from the extensive “wine by the glass” menu(in a lovely glass too 👍) All in all a relaxing lunch and we will be back!(without the associated road trip next time).

We stayed two nights, at the Derby Arms. We arrived before the 3pm check in time after driving nearly 300 miles, but it wasn’t a problem, we just sat in the beer garden on a very hot day, and had a chilled drink, taking in the lovely views. Went to the bar at 3pm to check in, but our room wasn’t ready yet, so went and had another drink in the garden. Went back at 4pm and went to our room. There was only 1 cup, saucer and tea bag, so my husband went to get more. It was a nice room, plenty of wardrobe space, and modern bathroom. Had pre booked a table for 4 for dinner, some items on the menu are not available on a Sunday, and we were there on a Sunday! The staff are nice and friendly but it seemed to take forever for our meals to be served to us. Our food was very good so it was worth the wait. We had breakfast there both mornings, which was very good and lots of it! Again very good service and nice staff. The only thing the breakfast room needed was some background music for some ambiance. We stayed during the recent heatwave, and the room was unbearably hot. There was a small fan but it didn’t help much. We really enjoyed our first trip to the Derby Arms, and Longridge, and are looking forward to staying there again soon.

SUPERB from the second we walked to the second we left. The food was awesome and the price was just right. The staff were exceptionally attentive - really first class service.. After dining we sat in the rear garden area to watch over the amazing views across the countryside. Very important of course was spotlessly clean toilets.

The food was good, if slightly overpriced for the quantity received, also would expect vegetables with a rib eye costing nearly £30. The service however was very poor and commented on by other parties in the room. The dining area was not overly busy so there didn’t appear to be any reason for how long everything took. The ultimate irony was the 10% service charge added to the bill.

A short walk from Ferrari hotel we were staying. Good selection of ales and booked for meal the next night. I ordered the Rib-Eye, medium rare, it was cooked to perfection with a blue cheese sauce, gourmet pub kinda prices but it was very tasty. We moved back into the bar for more drinks to end a pleasant evening.

I have been here for lunch on many occasions but have never eaten here in an evening. I came with three friends last Friday. The food was excellent as always but what put us off wanting to return in an evening was the music. It was so incredibly loud that we ended up shouting to each other in order to be heard. The singer was actually very good and had an extensive repertoire but it was jus SO LOUD! I almost felt like going to pull the plug on his amplifiers! We were sitting at the far side of the restaurant so if you were right next to the bar, it would have been unbearable. The 4* score I have given is really for the food and service but the music really spoiled our evening. I wouldn't stop coming during the day but this is not a place I would choose for an evening out.

Everything was perfect couldn't ask for More. The staff are great, Food immaculate and the setting is gorgeous.

We visited tonight as we wanted a gastro pub that did a nice cheese board, Google suggested this was the place... We drove 12 miles from home (we really wanted a cheese board!) and we very pleased with the warm welcome and lovely premesis. We ordered main each, skipping starters to ensure max cheese room. One main was merely very good indeed, whilst the other was exceptional (crispy beef salad). We then ordered a cheeseboard to be told that they were changing the menu the following day and removing cheese from the main desert menu and only having as a special occasionally. We told the manager about it 24 Mike round trip to seek out a quality cheeseboard, for which he apologised and we obviously accepted as an unfortunate event. 5 minutes later he returned with a plate of "the last cheese we have in the kitchen", some grapes, crostini and chutney. On the house as it wasn't a 'full portion'. We were blown away by the gesture and the cheese was amazing. Just what we had hoped for. Quality establishment with exceptional management strong the ship ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Excellent food and service last night. The restaurant was busy but had a very relaxed atmosphere. We’ll be trying the seafood special next time. It looked amazing.

We visited in July whilst the pub had a Champagne weekend with a Laurent Perrier pop up. It was nice to enjoy a glass of Champagne and we shared some Oysters and Langoustines between us before going off the main menu and ordering some pub grub too. Nice to see the same faces as we have visited before for a Sunday roast, all in all a good visit, nice to see it busy too with a few others enjoying the special menu over the weekend.

Visited Derby Arms last night for dinner which we had pre booked. Food was good. However the service was really slow. From ordering main courses we waited 45 minutes for food to be served. We selected the dessert from the specials board , apple and blackberry crumble with custard. The custard was delivered in a very small jug which consisted of a table spoon of custard. I asked if I could have another jug which was delivered with a teaspoon measure of custard and the server told me that was the last of the custard.

We visited for lunch today. The staff were really friendly and helpful The food was quick to arrive after ordering, we both had the roast beef. It looked amazing All perfectly seasoned and presented. However it really wasn’t hot. The beef was not as I’d expect from a sirloin and a lot of gristle. A shame as I had good expectations.
