Tiggis Ribble Valley in Ribble Valley

We have been regular customers at Tiggis since the inception of the original one in Blackburn town centre in the early 1990s. In fact I even worked there part time as a student. On the event of my mums 70th Birthday there was only ever one place we would go! Tiggis of course. We had a brilliant night and the food was bang on. I particularly enjoyed my calamari which was perfection. See you soon ; and as always keep up the great work. I would give 6 stars if I could. Mark J.

Unfortunately a bad experience. Both my daughter and myself ordered Caneloni as we both have always enjoyed this. We were at a relatives special birthday so did not want to detract from her celebration, which is why we said nothing at the time. It was disgusting...dried out, I don't know what the meat was it was grey and full of grizzel and so dried out, no sauce or creaminess. Put us off going again.

Very good food. Generous portions , service was very good even though they were exceptionally busy. Prices were very reasonable and good selection of high end quality wines. Will most definitely return.

I went to tiggis with some friends for a meal and it was exceptional, the service was brilliant, the food was jaw-dropping and overall was an amazing experience and loved it!

Called in unexpectedly on a Sunday teatime. Although busy, a table was found for us. Food was great, atmosphere great and staff very helpful and professional.

Superb all round. Excellent food and service. I would highly reccomend. Very good prices too. I had a chicken salad starter and then chicken in pepper and spicy sausage. Delicious. Wife had Prawn cocktail followed by Cod in champagne sauce. Again superb. All veg were al dente. Sneaked in an apple pie with ice cream and whipped cream. Lovely.

Went for first time and was very impressed. The deal of three courses for £30 was excellent and the food lovely quality. We particularly appreciated the use of fresh fruit and vegetables in courses. I had fish and husband had steak. Despite it being a busy Saturday evening, the service was brilliant and the atmosphere was really pleasant, not at all pretentious but friendly. We will definitely be visiting again. Only one complaint-needs more alcohol in the Tiramisu please!

New years eve 2023. A warm welcome on arrival. Superb service from friendly and courteous staff (who also had a great sense of humour) The new years eve menu was comprehensive. Our choices were cooked to perfection. We were not pushed between courses but left to about our food at our own pace. All in all a great night out. We highly recommend Tiggis Ribble Valley.

This was my first visit to this place and I must say I was very impressed. The food was delicious. 2 course menu was very reasonably priced at around £18.95. I opted for the chicken livers which were some of the best I’ve had followed by a spicy pizza which was outstanding. The only downside was the bar service was very slow prior to being seated at the table.

We didn't book and it was fairly busy, waited for around 30 minutes for a table but that was to be expected. We was shown to our table expecting menus to be placed in front of us. 10 minutes went by and still no sign of the menus, we had to ask a member of staff for them which you shouldn't had to of asked for with Tiggis being a "restaurant" the management I found were very friendly and you could see they worked harder than anybody else, a lot of young runners/waiters or waitresses didn't really seem to care. There was one lady, apologies that I forgot her name, was great! (Looked Italian) she is a credit to the team, she really looked after us. The food was great, we couldn't fault it. it's just a shame that the service didn't match the same standard as the food did.

This place is a real favourite of GF and as she is someone who knows how to cook then I must listen to what she says. This is a large Italian focused restaurant on the A59 that offers extensive set menus alongside a la carte. Like most places this day don’t expect amazing value but to be fair the food is always very good. As well as a couple of the chicken liver pate served with a whole pizza garlic bread we had a Daffy Duck (spring roll) and fantastic Gambos pil pil. Mains were split across a couple of pastas, a Sunday Roast and a pork with Marsala sauce. All thoroughly enjoyed. Quiet when we were in on Bank Holiday Monday (usually closed Mondays) and perhaps the established staff could be a little warmer. If they were they’d have a real great combination alongside their food, nice finish to the restaurant, and presumably a nice atmosphere on busy weekend evenings. Plenty of parking for the unlucky drivers.

First visit here since moving to the Ribble Valley. Have wanted to try this place for ages & not got round to it. Very polite staff and beautiful interior. Nicest I’ve seen for a long time inside. The menu for lunch was £18.95 for 2 courses which we thought was very reasonable & the choices on there was amazing. We all thoroughly enjoyed our starters & mains, they were all large portions considering they were on the lunchtime deal The pate came with a full size garlic bread which was lovely . The bbq chicken wings were superb & the minestrone soup with bread. The meat pizza was huge. The chicken Milanese came with spaghetti and sauce on the side plus a side of veg & roast potatoes The lasagne was nice, a lot of sauce and lot of pasta, a small amount of meat. Big portion though We would highly recommend the restaurant and will visit again soon.

We came here as a party of 14 for a 91st birthday. We are regulars as a family at Tiggis and the food is always lovely. Last night was no exception, the portions were very generous, garlic breads were to die for and service was good. Our only gripe was that you are unable to split the bill as your ordering into “family 1” “family 2” etc. We all holiday together and this is never an issue abroad (we all have different family sizes so splitting main bill evenly doesn’t work for us) but can never seem to do it in UK for some reason. After all going up separately to pay our share of the food bill we were left with an outstanding balance, obviously we paid this but being able to just pay your own separate bill would be much easier. We will be returning to Tiggis for our next family celebration and are looking forward to it.

7 of us had a meal on Wednesday night and we all thoroughly enjoyed the evening. The service was excellent and the staff attentive . A good variety of choices for starters and main courses and no complaints from anyone with their meals. Well done Tiggis .

We stopped off at Tiggis for a quick dinner on Sunday afternoon after a family day out. This is the first time we have visited and must say it was extremely underwhelming, our food was good and nicely presented but the attitude of the staff really let our meal down.Mostly all of the staff we encountered bar one (a lovely young Italian gentleman with a beard) were so sullen and to be quite honest they all looked so fed up! Smile, it makes such a difference to a customer’s dining experience! I really wish I had mentions it at the time, but the Manager also looked the same! Maybe some extra training is needed to teach the staff how to meet and greet and engage more with their guests! Such a shame! ☹️

Visited here on a Tuesday evening. Although I’ve passed here more times than I care to mention, I’ve not been in since it was a pub, The Royal Oak if my memory serves me well. We were seated immediately, menus brought promptly. Our orders were taken, the drinks arrived swiftly and the starters arrived shortly after. We thoroughly enjoyed the starters, and the garlic bread was excellent. Mains arrived and were substantial and again, excellent. All the food was enjoyed, drinks too. All staff were very friendly and efficient. We have been looking for a good local Italian restaurant for a while. We have found it. Many thanks to all staff for a lovely meal. We will return.

Back again this time on a Friday night. Offered an extensive table d'hote menu at £19.95 for 2 courses and another £4 for 3. This is served Friday and Saturday night.Really good choice (over a dozen starters and mains). We'd enjoyed the pate and garlic bread previously and it was great again. This time with a mushroom crostini. Alongside a chicken in cream sauce main we had an excellent beef stroganoff. Portions were good and there was no room for dessert.Service was very good from the experienced staff. Less experienced a little less so.Been twice since moving here and has been 5 stars on both occasions.

The first time I came I had a bad experience, not just with the food but with the service aswell. I swore I wouldn’t come back but I’m so glad I did!! I had two courses of the Sunday menu which was amazing! There are so many choices and they are not peevish with the portions. It’s so worth it’s money and the atmosphere was really nice. I can’t wait to go back. I shared the pate and chicken wings to start which both where amazing and pasta as main. The deserts we lacking as there wasn’t much choice. I think there was only 2 or 3 choices which we didn’t like. Apart from that’s amazing!! I’ll be seeing you soon!!

Spent New Year’s Eve with this restaurant food was fantastic the atmosphere was fantastic and the staff couldn’t have asked for a better New Year’s Eve

We were staying at the caravan park a 3 minutes walk away so booked in for New Year’s Eve the food was excellent,the staff worked extremely hard no complaints from our party of 6 after dinner the disco started he was FANTASTIC he played our era music all night and we never left the dance floor until home time will definitely be back

Food came very quickly. Kids liked it and they are usually fussy! Pasta was good and so was the pizza and garlic bread. Staff were also great.

It's a popular venue, and it's easy to see why, as the food - especially the fixed price menus - is good value, and although it's not going to win any Michelin stars it's perfectly OK. And on a busy night the service was also pretty good. The only thing that let it down was the bar prices, which were really OTT for this type of restaurant - £8.20 for a bog standard single G & T is frankly a rip-off. I can only assume they're working on the principle that as there don't seem to be any prices displayed at the bar (isn't that a legal requirement?) people will just pay up rather than argue the toss, but it's all a bit cynical.

A very warm and welcoming atmosphere provided by the staff. A decent selection of pizza and pasta dishes and a solid wine list. Disappointed by the cider selection or lack there of, but there was plenty of wine and beer to choose from. Good service from the younger members of staff who were new and nervous but did a great job.I would probably echo some of the reviews which observe that the price is on the higher side for this kind of food, but I have a high metabolism and I was still full the next day.

Last minute decision to go out for lunch. Not our local but worth the short drive. Chose the lunch time special and every course was spot on. Tasty and well presented. A taste of great Italian cooking.

Rang Tiggis on the 19th September to book a table for 14 people for an 80th birthday on the 9th October. Asked if they would like a deposit, they said no (thankfully!) Having booked far in advance, I rang them the day before to check we were ok for the following night and if I could bring some balloons etc. I was told my booking was cancelled by me!! I told them I can assure you I had most definitely NOT cancelled and we very much still needed the table. The man I was talking to had the most 'couldn't care less' attitude so I asked him would you prefer if I went elsewhere? He said "That's up to you, i'm not bothered!!!" We decided as family to go elsewhere. Very unprofessional and untrustworthy.

Excellent food and service. The table d’hote menu is extensive and excellent value at £16.95 for 2 courses. Portion sizes are generous and the flavours and taste are fabulous. We had the lobster filled ravioli accompanied with a creamy fish sauce, prawns, a scrumptious king prawn and rocket. However, the options available are many so there is something for all appetites and tastes. Many thanks to chef for adding sauce to the ravioli that I wanted to take home - so delicious and very generous.

Found this restaurant to have good staff. Food wise they were serving their midweek 2 courses (starters and mains) for around £17-£18 with a good choice of each. Dessert could be added for £3.95.Starters of chicken liver pate served with a whole pizza garlic bread (!) and duck spring were followed by lobster pasta and chicken in white wine mains. Added a banoffee pie to share which was homemade in a dessert bowl. With a few drinks the bill was just under £60. Place is finished nicely and was relatively busy for a Tuesday night and could imagine it having a nice atmosphere at weekends. Located on the A59 with not much else around so probably need a designated driver. Will come again.

20 of us on a big family meal. It was awesome. From Pizza, Pasta and sundries. All excellent with THE BEST service. We will visit again and again!

Visited for my birthday meal. After viewing the al a carte menu and that being primarily the reason for the visit, it was disappointing to be told we couldn’t have it. Not even an explanation just a “no” from the waitress before she walked away. Asked for a drinks menu as never visited before and was told they only had a wine menu. Took half an hour to even get a drinks order taken, with many tables empty around us and also people sitting down way after us getting served first. 2 members of our party had to send back their mains due to them being freezing cold, their chicken was hard and again came back only luke warm but due to the hassle had to just eat it. I didn’t receive my main until others had nearly finished. I was still eating my food when the waitress came over trying to take our plates, customer service skills were very poor. Although they offered us a little 20% off for our dreadfully poor experience and us being grateful for that, it was a poor experience and I can’t see us returning.

Well what can I say.The food was luke warm.Some of the staff were unpleasant and needed customer service training.They took plates away when other members of the party was still eating.Ask 4 times where someone's starter was.Also asked on several occasion where a member of the party drink was.A member of staff asked if everything was OK, we say no. He apologied then walked off and not even ask what the problem was.

Visited while staying in the area, this is a large restaurant with 140 covers and the staff were very busy early evening as they offer a Table D'Hote fixed price two course menu which was obviously very popular.My wife opted for pasta parcels of meat with parma ham and a mushroom sauce, I chose breaded chicken with tomato and mozzarella, baked in the oven served with a tomato sauce tagliatelle, plus a garlic cheese bread. A bottle of white Trebbiano to drink with it.Fantastic quality produce, cooked and served beautifully,No room for puds, we finished with coffees and Sambucas.Thank you for a lovely evening, the staff were very welcoming and helpful.

Had a nice meal here today. Unfortunately, we noticed 2 members of staff without masks laughing and joking with customers in the main restaurant area. When we mentioned this when leaving we were told it was okay as one of them was the owner! We are at a precarious position with CoVid at present and considering this restaurant is only a few miles from a Covid hotspot, this is a concern.

Got a takeaway last Saturday thought it was very expensive for takeaway had a lot better food for half the price

We had a lockdown takeaway last night for my birthday and it was amazing. First time eating here- we called and ordered at 3pm to collect for 7:30. When we went to collect it only took a couple of minutes and it was ready. The portions were huge and so worth the money. Would definitely recommend having it through lockdown if you need cheering up with a hearty Italian meal!

Highly impressed we have visited previously and always had a lovely meal. During lockdown we have enjoyed several takeaways from Tiggis. Always receive friendly service, usually very quick and orders are exactly as requested and the food is consistently excellent.Contactless delivery or when we've collected all covid safeguarding in place.We have tried a variety of meals such as bbq ribs, duck rolls, and the garlic breads are to die for! Rump steak is very tasty and cooked perfectly, love their prawn and scallop ravioli and  chicken boscaiola. Even the sides are fabulous, roast potatoes, vegetables  and the children especially adore the fries. Pizzas are of the high standard you'd expect from an italian restaurant beating standard pizza/kebab takeaway anyday!Prices are in line with most italian restaurants and i do like that you get good portion sizes so its good value for money too. Thank you for your excellent service and once restrictions are lifted look forward to dining in and enjoying the delectable cocktails. It would be fantastic if delivery can continue to be offered in future too.

Quiet Sunday late afternoon. No atmosphere. Minsestrone soup more like vegetable. Pizzas absolutely inedible. So overspiced could not eat. Knocked off bill. Left very disappointed. Will not return. Covid regs in place and overall clean. Staff ok.

Not the expected usual warm Italian welcome and not many diners.Served apple juice that had gone stale,immediately replaced.Food well cooked and nicely presented but chicken livers overseasoned with a bit too much chilli for a normally delicate tasting dish.Pizza usual standard and scallop/prawn pasta rather nice.Glass of house red wine at £6:25 seems a bit steep but good quality.

We went for tea out, the food was decent but nothing to rave about. However the service was unacceptable, All but one of the waiting staff were rude and unwelcoming and we were left for over 35 minutes before being informed we had to pay on the way out. Wouldn't leave a tip if it was the last thing i did.

Visited Tiggis today for lunch. We received a warm welcome and all the necessary PCP checks were carried out in a relaxed and efficient manner. Drinks were served promptly to our table by pleasant friendly staff . Both our starters and main courses were served by the owner Gianfranco who was both professional and charming . The food was to an exceptionally high standard and by far the best Italian cuisine I have had in this country . I have no hesitation in recommending a visit to this restaurant you will not be disappointed. Can’t wait to visit again

AVOID!!!I HAVE NEVER BEEN SO DISGUSTED IN ALL MY LIFE!!Arrived at the restaurant tonight and was greeted by such an unfriendly lady! No staff member came over to take our drinks order and numerous of staff just kept walking past us, until we finally got somebody’s attention. We had to do the same when it came to taking the food order. The food came and it was made within minutes and sooo salty!!Both myself and partner left all of our mains for the OWNER to come and take our plates away WITHOUT asking if our food was ok even though the plates were FULL! When we went to pay AGAIN we wasn’t asked how our meal was so I mentioned we left the full mains! THE OWNER stormed over grabbed the bill snatched it out of the ladies hand and shouted “WHATS THE PROBLEM” after we nicely explained .. he shouted “GET OUT GET OUT LEAVE AND DONT EVER COME BACK” and pushed his hands towards us!I have never ever come across somebody that is so nasty towards both staff and customers in all my life!VERY VERY SURPRISE THIS PLACE HAS ANY BUSINESS !! Not to mention there was absolutely no PPE in place in this restaurant !! There was 0 social distancing or any equipment in place!! VILE

First visit for a long time due to the lockdown - how I’ve missed it. The food was brilliant and the arrangements in the restaurant made social distancing effortless. Also check your temperature on arrival! Could not recommend highly enough, food was fantastic, and the menu is very reasonably priced, service excellent.

We booked for a table of 3 at 18.30. Plenty of parking and it was busy. I like that they have a separate Bar area to have a drink before or even afterwards. We were give a complimentary garlic bread to start. I had mushroom in stilton which were lovely and then the Tiggis Pizza which was delicious if a little filling so suggest you don't have garlic bread accompaniments otherwise you are stuffed to the gills. Menus is very varied and plenty of Veggie and Vegans. Service polite friendly and not intrusive. Décor easy on the eye. Didn't use the toilet facilities so can't comment. All on one floor so those with mobility issues would not have a problem. Would go again anytime.

Popped in last night, food OK though pasta with minted peas and ham very bland. Not a wiff of mint in sight. Friends lasagne was good.Worst thing was we had cash, needed change then was going to leave a tip only to see the guy take all the money and put in his tin! Pretty rude as thought it's up to the customer to leave a tip!

Well not a place I would have gone but after recieving a lovely gift token from a close family I am glad I visited.Service was good Restaurant was clean and cosy.Food was fantasticValue for money also some great midweek offers can say I will be going again.

Standard of the staff was appalling, the waitresses were on their phones and bickering in front of customers and especially the grown up woman who was front of house was disgraceful the way she spoke to me. Never returning

Ordered from the Table D’Hote Menu - we was a large party. All the food was delicious, large meals, reasonably priced. Staff attentive and atmosphere lively. Will definitely be going more often. Loved it. Thank you tiggis. :)

This place never disappoints me and my husband!!We love food and we love experiencing different places and cultures!!My hubby been raised in Italy so all the time he's missing Italian food we go here!Staff is very friendly,chefs knows he loves spicy food so everytime they are doing the food for his taste.We'll always be back!!Keep the good work!!!

The staff were attentive and efficient, selected my choices and everything went fine. The food was good. Overall not bad but the restaurant gives the appearance of being overly cluttered, there is stuff everywhere.

Visited here this evening was so looking forward to it as Italian food is my favourite.

Went with family members for our usual pre Christmas get together. Nice place and atmosphere some food was good other was mediocre at best. Service wasn’t even that! No table checks and had to wait 20 mins for starter plates to be removed. Sadly we be going back anytime soon.

Work Christmas party at Tiggis. Food great and atmosphere fantastic. Only disappointment was the price of drinks.

Firstly , the food that we did receive was mostly good so my review score isn't really about that . My issue is that whilst our starter and main course orders were taken and the food provided reasonably quickly - after that we had no contact with any staff. No drinks orders were taken, staff passed us by despite us trying to get their attention , and no dessert menus were offered , we were not asked about coffees. basically we we were ignored . There was plenty of staff but they seemed more interested in making up tables , I assume , for the next day . We could have left our table and looked for some service but quite honestly we decided to leave . Incidentally, although we did manage to get a bill, we left the money on the table and walked out . One wonders if we could have done that without being honest . No one cared about their customers enough to say goodbye. BTW we were a table of 8 .

Fantastic night out at Tiggis Ribble Valley, Great Food, Atmosphere and Dancing, would highly reccommend. I had the Chrstmas meal of the Baked Mushrooms, The lobster and prawn pasta and cheescake. All the food was hot and tasty and great service.
