Francos in Ribble Valley

The menu and specials and Also the Sunday specials are extensive and offer a vast variety of choices. The minestrone soup and garlic bread are superb. Polo and Filetto and vegetables excellent food. The strawberry meringue ice cream dessert was delicious. On the second visit the Sunday lunch was extremely reasonable in price for the courses. The Apple pie gets a 10 ! The roast beef gets a 10! Very good service genuinely happy smiling staff to go with delicious food and prices. You can't book unless it's for a larger group and it does get busy but ample car parking to the rear. I think it's the best Italian restaurant in which I have eaten, from a food point of view. It possibly needs a little updating but that's minor in comparison with the atmosphere.

Yeah, alright, I was surprised. Absolutely brilliant. Great food, proper portions... What's not to like? And still brilliant.

Our first time here and what a pleasant experience. Four of us arrived on a Saturday at around 1800 and were seated almost immediately. Greeted by amazingly friendly staff and looked after very well by the bar person. We had two kids meals, Calzone and Cannelloni... plus the biggest bowl of olives we have ever seen!! 🫒 We will definitely be returning again soon 🍕🍝🍷

First time here this Sunday lunchtime. Good car parking off road. This establishment is much bigger inside than it appears from the outside. We received a warm welcome and the service that we received from everyone was excellent. Good pint of Peroni on draught. Garlic breaded mushrooms and a minestrone soup for starters were good. The mushroom pizza was excellent, the lasagne was plentiful, full of flavour and plenty of meat in it, delicious. Finished off with a tasty apple pie and tiramisu, truly stuffed. We don't really do three courses nowadays but we took advantage of the three course special for £21 a head, but had to pace ourselves but we were not rushed at all. We will certainly return when next in the area.

My favourite restaurant in Lancashire. Very relaxed atmosphere yes extremely professional on the service level. The food is simply delightful and I would recommend the Calamari starter and the cannelloni and lasagna for magnificent authentic Italian food. Oh and the peroni is spot on too 👌

Love this restaurant. The food is always spot on, service always good (even in busy times) and all the staff make you feel welcome. We go probably once a month and would recommend the Tortellini Barbara, cheese garlic bread, tomato garlic bread, salami pizza, spaghetti Bolognese, and stuffed mushrooms to name a few. My only gripe is that you cannot book in advance so I recommend going early to avoid waiting for a table.

Ordered Lasagne, big portion But it was cold on the inside. Sent it back but still not good when it was served again. Shame really, my friends go every week and raves about the place. Maybe it was a one off.

Shocking. Ordered a couple of pizzas. Was told would be ready in 1 hour to pick up. Got there after 1 hour. Had to wait for another 1 hour until ready. 2 hours for 2 pizzas. Shocking as was a treat for my sins birthday. Never go here

A dissapointed, as this was a Birthday celebration. An average meal. Lacking in flavour & overpriced. Will not return.

Brilliant family run restaurant.

New to the area so thought we’d try the local Italian. Heard mixed reviews about the place, told it can be hit and miss. Food was disappointing, pizza was ok. Service was good, lots of staff to boss out meals. Atmosphere was a bit pub like with a mixed bag of people. Despite it being reasonably priced, I personally would not return because the food was so bad.

Great food great service and reasonable prices can't praise this restaurant enough the staff are so friendly and helpful nothing is to much trouble the food is always amazing had the fillet with peppercorn sauce and it was cooked to perfection if you are ever in longridge it's a must but it does get busy but always worth it

Loved it here great food and good value, very busy and unable to book a table unless your party has over 9 people. Went on a Saturday night and to be fair most people sat in the bar but as busy as it was were offered a table within 15 minuites. Order less than you think you need and you'll still be proper full on leaving. Enjoyable evening and good food.well worth a visit

Food was really good. Staff were very friendly, great service and lovely atmosphere, even though it was very busy for a Monday early evening! The only negative, it was far too hot inside the eating area. The 'Franco's' sign is also not visible from the main road. Almost drove past it. Other than this, highly recommend xxx

10th August 2023. My and my Grandparents had a nice little Teatime visit to this local Italian style restaurant and I have to say it’s top notch. It was only a short meal so we didn’t have starters/desserts etc, I had a 4 Seasons Pizza which I took home as I didn’t finish it all, it’s common knowledge that this pizza is one of the best around the area. The service was very quick as well and the waiters were all very lovely and the tables are all separated well. Definitely one of the nicer restaurants and is matched with nice staff. I’ll be having more then just one course next time.

We meet virtually every month and enjoy the great food, soaking up the warm-hearted, friendly atmosphere of this wonderful restaurant.

We called on a Friday night. Not previously been or booked. We wanted a table for two. It was very busy but we were told no problem. We sat and ordered some drinks. Not long after we were taken to table. Menu was good. Portions were large. We had a garlic bread with pancetta and rosemary. Probably the best garlic bread I ever had. Carbonara was also very good. Would defo recommend.

We came in a group of 75 and the rest of the restaurant was also busy, But the food and service was exceptional. 10/10 to the kitchen staff and the table service. Highly recommended

We visited here as an early Father’s Day present for my dad. As you can’t book we had a 45 minute wait but we just had a drink in the bar and waited. We were soon seated and served and the food came quickly and was very delicious The only negative is it was quite dark in the restaurant area and as the car park was full we had to park on the main road however it was worth the visit.

Just popped in as we were passing by, didn't know anything about this Italian. As we drove into the car park we weren't sure if it was open then we saw a couple at a table, it looked empty otherwise. We walked in and it was packed, a good sign. We were greeted by Italian voices another good sign. Had tomato garlic bread, gorgeous, soft and creamy, I had their special of the seabass in garlic white wine mussels and cherry tomatoe sauce, they'd just sold their last one but very quickly cane up with the option of having the same sauce but with tuna, it was gorgeous, also had a pile of peas, carrots and baby potatoes. My partner had pasta Fettuccine Alfredo, also gorgeous, so tasty. The staff were attentive too, will defo go in again, highly recommended 👌 Bravo

Lovely place with great friendly staff I probably made the mistake of having a ribeye steak, it was a special & not on the regular menu, it wasn't the best, a bit tough & over cooked.... My partner opted for goats cheese with Parma ham, Im not convinced it was Parma ham, it more resembled very fatty undercooked streaky bacon. Such a shame really. We won't be in a hurry to return

Went for a birthday meal as recently moved to the area and hadn’t been for about 30 years. Well, first thing to say is that nothing seems to have changed since I last came, and it looked dated then. Decor is very tired and in desperate need of modernisation. it looks like it was last updated in the 1970‘s and hasn’t been touched since. When we arrived we were greeted by a scruffy bar area, where we waited to be seated. After a modest wait (we were told 30 mins, but it was actually a bit less) we were shown to our table. On entering the restaurant area we passed the dessert cabinet. Normally you would expect a restaurant to use this to showcase its treats. Instead the cabinet was a sad state of affairs with some sorry looking desserts in it and cartons of supermarket custard at the bottom. We were a group of four and were given a table set for seven because this was the only one available, so had to push three chairs to the end to make it feel comfortable. As for the food, I can only describe it as very disappointing. The Lasagne looked like it had been cremated and then sat around for ages, while the pizza looked like a £1 meal deal with a hint of pepperoni rather than something freshly made. Fair to say we didn’t bother with dessert. The only positive I can give Franco’s is that the service was fine and the staff were polite and attentive. But overall, it was a very disappointing experience. If I live long enough then I might go back again in another 30 years, just to see if anything has changed.

Tortellini with cream and spinach was beautiful large portion couldn't eat it all so take away boxes provided. Youngest loved the garoc bread best she'd ever tasted. Proper garlic bread. Stuffed mushrooms were delicious and tasty. Definitely recommend

It was excellent in all aspects . I arrived 5pm and by 5 o5 pm there were numerous people arriving family groups and small groups . Decided to get table x5 and message friends. The restaurant filled up to ?capacity by 5 30pm . I really don't know how the staff coped. There were no short measures or cuts in service. Excellent JOB done by all staff

The atmosphere was exciting and had a distinctly homely feel. My partner has a lot of severe allergies and the staff made sure to triple check everything and set us at ease meaning she could eat with confidence. Absolutely fantastic! We will be back soon!

We visited at 5.30 on a Saturday, it was busy with lots of families with young children. The food was nice but nothing special.

It was nice but I'm not sure why everyone raves about this place! The starter portions were huge, too much to finish and they were fine. Wasn't impressed with the mains though, we each ordered lasagne and it came out like soup. Lasagne should not have so much sauce that it has to come in a bowl and the pasta is just a little floating square in the middle! Couldn't even eat the lasagne with my salad as it was so wet. Not good. The staff, however were lovely, the wine was good, great atmosphere, excellent choice on the menu.. just our mains that let the place down.

This is the only place I have found in Lancashire that makes pizza like they do in Italy. The restaurant is dated and could do with a revamp but it has character, service is great from the staff and it has a real close not family feel. The pasta is great too and really good prices

3 of us had lasagne - felt it was very salty and did not taste good

Dreadful service, kept having to ask for someone to take our order. Gave up on dessert and coffee we had been waiting that long. Dreadful food, lasagne just pasta with meat put on top, not layered or cheese sauce and baked in the oven. Chicken in a cream sauce, tasteless and tough, so disappointing, no where near as good as it used to be. No draught beer.

I was taken for my birthday today, and never been before, although I live in south preston. Well worth the drive out. Good no nonsense food, very nice and staff very polite. Value for money fantastic! - Will return again soon!

Literally the best Italian Food place in the North west. Everyone had smiles and great service. A small wait while a table came available, while we had drinks at the bar.

A large family gathering to celebrate my sister in laws 70th birthday. I arrived at 6.15pm, it was over an hour later that our starters arrived, it was then a further hour before the main courses started to arrive, I ordered a rump steak, medium, it was well done and along with the vegetables it was only like warm. No wine list was offered. Needless to say I won't be eating there again.

Been many times before although not for a while and always go for lasagne, and it’s piping hot , smothered with tomato sauce, in an sizzling oven dish……. But not this time. It arrived in a stone cold dish, looking very pale surrounded by a white sauce and it was cold . Sent it back . Came back with a very hot dish , but still cold . So disappointed . My friends pizza was all burnt Around the edges. Have you changed chefs? I will not be rushing back, unfortunately, unless you revert back to the delicious lasagne that used to be 🤨🙁🙁🙁

Been many a time, you can't really beat the quality of the Italian food for the price round the Preston and Ribble Valley areas. The pizzas are always delicious, as are the pasta and they are great both in house and picked up as takeaway. Luigi and Barbara (the owners) are always friendly as well. Would always recommend.

Got lost on the way back from Clithereo to Skem, and found this place.... Absolute god-tier food.... I had 2 Pizzas (look; I'm a growing 30 year old man) and I've never tasted a better pizza in my life... I was tempted to order two more to take with me but didn't want to look like a gannet. If Heaven exists, let Francos make my Pizza... Imagine: Angels, Harps, and Franco's pizza... Almost tempted to drive 20 miles just to get some more....

We eat here every week, the service is simply the best, the relaxed atmosphere and superb Italian food it perfect with realistic prices to back it up. Can’t wait for our next meal.

Been going to Francos for years , always great food and always served with a smile ! , We went on Thursday 15th Sept to celebrate my son's 21st birthday, along with 40 family and friends , I don't know how they do it but the food started rolling out together and was piping hot ! , Well done Francos team , thanks for making my son's birthday a special one X

First time I have been to Francos, it was my father in laws birthday and he wanted to eat here, so I was expected great food. I ordered the pate for my starter which was okay the garlic bread was nice, I ordered lasagna for my main when it arrived it looked absolutely disgusting they had covered the top with the ragu to cover what looked like burnt cheese underneath there was no cheese white sauce, It didnt even look like lasagna and I have had plenty in my lifetime it looked like weeks old lasagna that had been sitting in a fridge somewhere I didn't even attempt to try it and sent it straight back, the staff were helpful asked me what I would like instead so I ordered a pizza as I knew that would be the quickest to make, the pizza was okay not great and soggy in the middle, I won't ever be eating at franos again! everyone else in my party said their dishes were okay but not great.

Great food, great value, friendly atmosphere.

Having read some of the reviews we was a bit sceptical of trying this place as we are not local. We went on a Sunday and had the 3 course deal £17.95. We all loved everything we had, I definitely recommend the chicken wings for starter and lamb shank main, so tasty and the value for money is unbelievable! The staff was really polite and service was great. Really liked the fact they had an open kitchen where the pizza and some starters are cooked. Definitely recommend to anyone !

4 of us went this evening short notice, won’t be going back, only nice food was the garlic bread, we didn’t enjoy the food at all, my wife’s stomach is a bit off now too, my daughter in law sent her meat ball back weren’t cooked through, my lasagna was very soggy with little taste, maybe we went on a bad day but none of us will be returning, and yes we should have complained.
