The best restaurants in Cheshire West and Chester North West

One of the best pubs in Chester. Slightly out of the city centre, in a studenty area, it offers a great place for a quiet drink. It has a great beer garden that is smoker and dog friendly. They always make a big effort for major sporting events, which means that there is a brilliant atmosphere and the place is jumping. Best of all however is the quality of the staff. I call in once a week or so and always receive a friendly warm welcome, with staff remembering what your preferred poison is. Thanks Emma to you and your colleagues for making this such a lovely place to visit. Excellent.

Went in at 6.10pm ordered food told 25 mins wait as chef had to go on deliveries??? One couple waiting for takeaway pizza told 10 mins. We had to get food at 7.25pm. Food was mediocre. Dont bother

What a wonderful find! The service was absolutely superb, the food different and delicious, and the surroundings fresh, clean and innovative! We booked a table for 16 and everything ran incredibly smoothly, I can't recommend The Kitchen enough. If you get the chance...go! Ordered gnocchi. Uncertain as to whether was due to them being busy or is their usual portion. Got about 12 gnocchi portions. Appreciate authentic Italian is small portion but equated to about a pound a gnocchi. Complete rip off. Plenty of nice places in the market that offer better food and better value for money.

Last time we went to Sir Charles was in winter lashing down with rain. Walking into warm open fire set the mood then, fast forward to this vist. Beautiful summers evening taking a friend along as he is a great food lover. Sitting in garden enjoying the summers evening choosing our food and dinning outside. Food was faultless thank you very much to the team.

Reet let me tell ya this hotel was proper lush like. Me and me gadgie went for a cheeky getaway and was mint, staff were proper sound ya kna, soon as we got there they hoyed our bags in the gaff and even got some welcome chocolates, the works. Felt like a proper baller me. Room was lush bed was comfy as owt but was canny short though, our gadgies not the tallest and his dogs were hanging off the end a bit like. Still didn’t stop es having the best kip ever! Telly was bigger than me wall in the gaff back home and bathroom even had those posh soaps they smelled well lush, even pocketed a couple but that’s between us aye? And ere get this they even gave es free toothbrushes, dead eco-friendly and made of wood n tha, but honest was like moying on a tree no joke, but it’s the thought that counts ey. Brekkie in the mornin? Belter. Proper portions n tha weren’t skimping on nowt, buzzing with the free coffees and was pure radge fruit flying about, posh as owt! Spa was lush too felt like I was in beefa. Absolute ten outta ten nee bother get yourself booked in anorl.

Popped in for a quick pint with the old man. Staff were friendly and quick to serve us despite being busy. Nice pint of Guinness and Cheshire cat. I would always recommend this pub.

Very near to town centre which is just a walk away. The hotel is next to the canal. Great staff. Parking at the hotel is expensive at £12 per day. Pool and jacuzzi really nice, very clean.

We had a lovely time at the Wheatsheaf Inn. The staff were so pleasant and welcoming upon arrival and very attentive throughout. The food and drinks were spot on! We will definitely be visiting again and would highly recommend to everyone.

Always a nice stay at Abode. Rooms are clean and tidy. Breakfast is amazing on top floor. Great view of Chester Racecourse Parking is available underground or across the road at a charge.
