Chime in Cheshire West and Chester

Starting with a positive they took our drinks off the bill because they recognised that the service wasn't good enough. We arrived 5 minutes before our booking and stood at the desk ignored by the staff for several minutes. We were eventually seated near the door, we did ask if there was anywhere else we could sit as we froze every time someone arrived or left, unfortunately there was nothing available. Five menus were provided for six of us because that was all they had available, a sixth was eventually brought. We ordered drinks and waited for a while before our food orders were taken. Our starters eventually arrived 1 hour after our reservation time 1 hour 5 minutes after our arrival. The food was very good. We reminded the waitress that we had asked for a jug of water unfortunately they had no jugs available so they brought us glasses of water which was fine but surprising that they didn't have enough jugs. When the main course arrived they forgot to bring one of the meals and we had to ask for it. I had a calzone which was tasty but only warm not hot. On top of all this no one came near to ask how the food was and the tables were so close together that when people were seated it was impossible to move around them causing problems for the waiting staff. When it came to pay we asked to split the bill and pay on card. We were told they'd tried that with another table and it had crashed the till, unbelievable. I won't be returning.

The food was very tasty however the portion size of the main left me hungry. The service was very poor. We were here for 2.75 hours and had starters and a main. Every time they said they would be 2 seconds and took 15 minutes to come to the table. Would I go again? Probably not….

My Suprise Baby Shower was hosted here. We had the entire upstairs to ourselves with afternoon tea. The food was delicious, staff were really accomodating and can't wait to visit after the refurbishment.

Overall a mixed review. A large pizza was brought out despite us ordering a small, the waitress said it was their error yet when the bill came they tried to charge is for it. Another waitress literally tried to clear my plate whilst I was still eating! All she had to do was ask, very poor. I would like to add that the service from Billy was exceptional and he is a credit to Chime. And I will say the food itself was very good.

We went for drinks on Friday night (14th June) and had a great time, Billy the manager was brilliant and has changed the whole place, well done Billy, keep up the good work.

First timers at Chime this weekend and we'll definitely be back. Excellent food, cracking cocktails and sublime wine at an excellent price (All topped off by the fact that there is such a lovely team working there giving great service - just really lovely people!) Loved it 10/10

Our first visit and an excellent experience - good food, excellent Negroni, superb red wine, friendly and efficient customer service - thank you Chime, you ticked all the boxes and we will be back.

I rarely leave feedback but Billy (in particular) and the team at Chime deserve a mention. My hubby and I spent an afternoon there and Billy looked after us - what an amazing person. He made us cocktails to die for and treated us in a way rarely experienced in this day and age. Such a wonderful afternoon and all primarily attributed to Billy. Great food and service. The atmosphere is friendly and cosy. Ordered the starters and they were so tasty. My partner had a red wine and they let her sample the wine before she ordered. The service was friendly and they went above and beyond. Will definatley be returning

Had a lovely meal this evening. I hsd the lemon and garlic chicken with leek and potato mash. It was the nicest meal i have had in a long time. My friend had the goats cheese pizza which she loved and we shared some salt and pepper chips which were amazing!

Really poor on all fronts. Friday night 6.30pm, we were one of three tables in, loads of staff on. Drinks order was strange, ordered a bottle of red then tried to finish the sentence to ask for some water but the waiter ran away before we could. Wine arrives, bottle dumped on the table with glasses, didn’t pour... didn’t even take off the cap. Should’ve checked the food menu before we ordered the wine as it was so uninspired we decided to just get some starters and head elsewhere. That and the price, 18 pounds for a cheeseburger! Shocking. 15 minutes later we were given opportunity to order these starters by the waiter who said ‘I thought someone else was taking your order’. We had the following. Bread and oil - had to ask for the oil as he forgot, some bread was burnt but placed face down so we wouldn’t see… we left these pieces on the plate, no check to raise this and no query when they cleared the plates. 6 pounds I think? Chilli prawns. Tiny prawns on some bread with balsamic and sliced chillies. 9 quid. Goats cheese croquettes - not bad actually. One was a lot more cooked than the other 2 but fine. Staff were just poor, think the manager was there but more interested in chatting and wandering about. Finished our dinner at Hartford hall where we were staying. Friendly staff and great food. Could’ve saved ourselves the walk!

Really enjoyed our dinner here last Saturday. Our waiters Billie and Gale were fantastic, delicious food, good drink!

Lovely bar in a lovely location. staff also very pleasant. Bar manager a bit sleazy. Clearly got his eye on the younger waitresses. Avoid

On friends recommendation I took my daughter and son in law for the roast dinner about 3 weeks ago. It was lovely. Consequently I went with a friend to hopefully enjoy another lovely roast dinner last evening. How disappointed I was. When I went with my family the lamb shanks were served with roast potatoes, parsnips, Yorkshire pudding, some greens and carrot. Last night the lamb shank was served with mashed potatoe and about 2O small carrots. Hugely disappointing!! My friend didn't want me to make a fuss but I did have a word with the waitress about it and asked her to pass on to management that I was less than happy! I hope this was done!! Perhaps there had been a flood of lunchtime orders for the roast and therefore the usual ingredients were not available. Had this been explained we would have gladly chosen something else!! I won't be rushing back needless to say!!

There was obviously issues with the kitchen when we visited . The staff were friendly and the starters although took an age to come out were ok. It all when wrong with the main course several of us ordered belly pork only to be told it wasn't available. We were a table of seven so our order was 4 fish and chips and 3 burgers and chips fairly simple you would have thought . The food took ages to come out and was not very good ,and can you believe two of us ordered garden peas with our cod and chips and the poor waitress had to come out and tell us there was only one portion , the Co-op was still open!!!!. So not the great dining experience we were hoping for as it was my sister in law's birthday,needless to say we wil not be returning or recommending any of our friends.

Very nice salt and pepper chicken burger. Little bit pricey but good quality.

My friend found a sheet of cling film/ plastic (bigger than palm size) in her pasta dish.... The restaurant kindly didn't charge that dish. I am not sure whether we will go back again.

One of the best local bottomless brunches I have had! Will definitely recommend!!

The piped music is too loud and echoes around the place making it difficult to hear conversations at table.

1st time at there pizza night on Wednesday and will definitely be back, pizzas were amazing and such good value, service quick, efficient and friendly, atmosphere lovely and relaxed and the place the was spotless. Can't wait to try more of the menu 😁

Visited for a friend's birthday, a group of us. The food took a while to come out, I had to wait 15 mins for my pizza to come out while almost everyone else in the party ate theirs. Slightly disappointed in the wait, I didn't make a fuss as it was a birthday meal. The pizza dough was dry in parts, another member of the party who also had a pizza said the same. However, the salt n pepper chips were amazing. Unfortunately for me, I won't be in a rush to return.

Sunday roast at Chime today was very good but especially impressed with the chef who was extremely attentive to my vegetarian roast ( no nutroast ). My husband loved his brisket. We’ll be back trying other menus.

I was really looking forward to trying this 'restaurant' as I had driven past many times and wanted to give it a try. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I chose the Calamari as a starter, as I was told it was fresh. It wasn't it was frozen, chewy and tasteless. Then after a long wait for the main course, which was the pie of the day/ week and it was described as a hand made pie containing tender pieces of lamb with mint in flaky pastry. It didn't live up to its description, the stringy bits of lamb in the undercooked pastry covering was tasteless, with no trace of mint. The pastry wasn't cooked, it was just dough. Unfortunately it didn't end there! The seasonal root vegetables appeared dehydrated, cooked to death and tasteless. I ate what was cooked and left the majority of the meal. When the waitress collected our plates. I explained that I was happy with what I had and she seemed to think I was joking! I asked her to take my plate to the 'chef' and to ask him if he would be prepared to pay for such an dreadful meal? Then nothing, we sat at our table for 10 minutes or more, no one approached us. So we went downstairs abd asked for the bill. My meal cost had been removed but what was annoying was no forn if apology was forthcoming. Then to add insult to injury they had over charged me £2.50 for a bottle of soda water, that I didn't have. One thing for sure is that we won't be visiting again, there are plenty of other restaurants offering better food and service, give this place a wide birth they don't deserve your custom.

New owners and set up is brilliant friendly staff, really nice food (we just had bar snacks). Bar staff knowledgeable on different beers they had to offer and what you can expect. Cocktails were nice too.

Great food, great drinks and great atmosphere but evening was ruined by the one waiter who obviously hates his job. Walked around like he'd just woken up, dropped drinks on our table, didn't look at us when he spoke to us, clearly wanted to be anywhere else.

Went for 8 year old birthday, was lovely when they brought the cake out and the whole room sang to him. It was busy, the upstairs dining area is a little difficult to navigate when full. The Calamari was nice, we also had chilli Prawns and the BBQ Pork Pizza. 😋 Good luck with re-opening. Good choice of craft ales. Although I stuck to coke as driving.

Great night out, the food was amazing, staff are fantastic and the new beers are just epic! We're really lucky to have this concept in Hartford! Something we normally travel to Manchester for so definitely pay a visit to Chime!

Very slow service. Disappointed with their lasagna, it was overcooked. The place itself looks nice and clean, and it's in a good location.

The tiramisu dessert was great. Service was slow. The main meals we had were okay but not restaurant standard in our case. Veggie pizza was a bit basic. I had lemon sole, which wasnt very flavourful, and the veg was so simple I could have made it. The baby potatos it comes with seemed to have just been over boiled then thrown from a great height onto the plate and all ingredients arranged with no presentation whatsoever. It's a shame as this is the 2nd time we've been to Chime in the hope it would get better. Hopefully this is some positive feedback, no bad vibes intended.

Poor overall dining experience. Avoid if you can until the apparent cobwebs have been blown off. Poor service, poor food, poor customer experience. Took over an hour to get starter.

Had a booking for 8pm on Saturday, arrived at 7:50pm. Got some lovely drinks straight away and asked if we could order food. We were told to wait a minute, unfortunately didn't get seen to until 8:30pm by that point I'm pretty sure the wine had gone straight to my head. Anyway, the food totally made up for it. Will probably book earlier next time. Cheers! 🍷

Red snapper main course was amazing and my wife’s stuffed belly pork also fantastic. The staff and host were both friendly and attentive. I look forward to going back there soon

Visited Chime for lunch today. Lovely waiting staff who were very accomodating. The food was delicious enjoyed by all within the group. Was a hot day and nothing was too much we even had a fan to cool us down which was very much appreciated.

Been this evening, food was lovely, good portions and the satay spring roll was amazing, pizza great too. Fab service and friendly staff. Thank you

I’ve been to Chime twice in the last 4 weeks and it’s been a great experience. A very warm welcome, from all the staff and the food has been excellent. I can recommend the Catch of the Day and the Chilli Beef with noodles personally and witnessed another table feedback upon paying their bill that they’d had the best Steak there compared to other eateries. Love the decor and ambience of Chime and compliments to the Manager, Amber, a great experience and we’ll be back soon.

What a shame. This restaurant has gone down the pan. We had uncooked food and were shown pictures by the waiting staff of other uncooked meals. Looks like there’s some conflicts between the kitchen and waiting staff and it’s the customers that suffer. Been going here for years but it’s falling apart under the new ownership.

Very disapointed today . Poor service and waited over 45 minutes for food and no one else in the place !! Lovely last time we went but no familiar faces of staff today. Food fair nothing special !

Absolute shocking service will never ever come to this place again due to the rudeness of staff . Came in tonight and was told there was a 45 minute wait for food. Said that was fine and happy to wait. Waited for twenty minutes and didn’t even get a drinks order taken. I asked if someone could take our drinks order and was told rudely that it is what it is and we’ve got to wait and if we don’t like it to go. I asked to speak to the manager after being spoken to so rudely by the guy who was serving us. But apparently he was the manager ….. Chime used to be great before it got taken over we have been many times since we live in Hartford. But will never come here again after being spoken to so rudely by someone who is apparently the manager. Do not touch this place with a barge pole!

Beautiful food and fantastic service

After a quick google to find a Sunday roast, I came across Chime… we both had the beef and it was DELICIOUS!! Seriously well presented and lovely! Right amount too and just enough home made gravy! Will be back! Keep up the good work!!

Relatively expensive for lunch - food OK but if anything the choice is a bit limited unless a committed carnivore.

This was me and my wife's favourite restaurant. Visited many times was always excellent both food and staff.Recent visit has changed that. The new staff were friendly but the new menu and food where very disappointing.

What a wonderful atmosphere! The salt n pepper chicken wings are to die for! Waitress was attentive, very helpful and always had a smile on her face despite the covid rules. We loved it that much we have rebooked for the next couple of weeks as our weekly date night.

We had lunch here 6/6/21 We haven't been for a long time . We chose to have the Sunday dinner . It was amazing . Really good . Full of flavour and well seasoned. I had a duo and the chicken was a little bit salty with the gravy but still a great plate of food . Staff were amazing. We will be back 👍

Lovely little restaurant. Have sampled the takeaway menu during lockdown. At times I haven't been able to get a slot as it's so popular ( order early!) but great food and venue. Looking forward to dining in again after lockdown.

We have used Chime on many occasions due to this being our local takeaway but unfortunately we had our first bad experience this evening. We ordered a Texan Pizza, crispy chilli beef noodles and a side order of salt and pepper fries. Our order was ready for collection at 19:15hrs which was collected on time. After a short 3/4 minute journey home we sat down to enjoy our evening meal to find the pizza was stone cold, and the chips and crispy chilli beef just about lukewarm which was extremely disappointing having spent nearly £30 with Chime. Being a couple who very rarely complain we felt as though we had no other option but to contact chime and inform them of our findings. We spoke to Sarah and explained to her about our food she informed us she was going to speak to the chef, we were then told our food was cooked fresh for collection at 19:15hrs and she found it hard to believe it was cold by the time we got it home. As the conversation progressed Sarah eventually offered to give us a refund or cook our meals fresh shortly followed by her saying she assumes we wouldn’t want to use them again. After this comment and no apology we decided to get a refund, this left us extremely inconvenienced as we have a newborn baby and our online shopping wasn’t due until the following day leaving us without an evening meal. We won’t be using Chime again and we certainly won’t be giving them any business once the restaurant reopens after our experience this evening.

Amazing gluten free pizza!!! food choice was fantastic. Great drinks selection. friendly staff. not the cheapest however the duck Wellington my Mrs had looked amazing and she said it tasted that way too. they even boxed up the left overs to take home. covid safety was followed and we felt well looked after.

Just had a really delicious take away of salt and pepper chicken wings and a parma pizza. Both still warm, although I put the pizza in the oven before I ate it, and both had loads of flavour. Really easy to order and ready on time. Will be ordering a cocktail next time too.

Excellent food and drinks just wish we'd have known prior to the evening about the table being booked again so soon, as we didn't quite have enough time to finish our evening and then wanted to go on somewhere else so we could which is not ideal in these times.

"It`s not really possible to say what a fantastic job Chime have done in switching the emphasis to take-away in these troubled times. Congratulations to them and their initiative." That`s what I said a ten days ago, but unfortunately for some reason this wonderful initiative only lasted a few days. Plenty of publicity about doing the takeaways - nothing about stopping it. Why???

Not my favourite choice..of lunch stop! I would not reccomend it..however i am sure some would like it..
