I would like to thank Richie for his warm, human and thoroughly appreciated greeting when we arrived late on to check in after a lengthy drive. He is excellent. Room was very comfortable especially the bed and spacious. Would definitely stay again.

Great location, but very weary and bland rooms. And ours (an allegedly superior room) with a disappointing outlook. £20 per day for parking was WELL overpriced, and the offer for an extended stay incentive turned out, on arrival, not to include breakfast. Really? Breakfast would have been another £40 for two of us, not to mention leaving me feeling a tad mislead.

No parking available, not even water in the room. Disappointed as I was expecting a little better than what was given. Room was basic but clean.

Rooms very disappointing, TV from the 2000s, awful harsh white lighting which was always on, absolutely zero sound isolation(!) And a general unpolished and low budget feel despite being 160 a night!

Clean rooms, comfortable beds. friendly staff, good location and a tasty breakfast. The parking at £20 per night is expensive, but it's a secure underground carpark. The mobile phone signal was also very patchy. However, I would happily stay here again.

Lovely hotel in a fantastic location. The room was a good size and the complimentary upgrade we were given was an added bonus. Breakfast was spot on and the service we received from all of the team was second to none. The views from the restaurant over Chester racecourse are exceptional. Would definitely recommend it if you are planning a visit to Chester and are looking for a bit of luxury at a reasonable price. Just had a second night in the abode, which was even better than the first, the room was £99 which is the same price as the travellodge, but that is where the comparison ends ( not that there is anything wrong with the travellodge but this is just a step up in terms of facilities and luxury). The bed was so comfy that this may just have been the best nights sleep I've ever had. The room was a good size with a big bath and a fantastic shower. We came here for a night out around Chester, but in all honesty I could have quite easily have kicked back and chilled in the room all night it was that nice.

Rooms basic and breakfast poor value for money and the bar was closed at 10.30 on a Saturday night. wouldn't stay there again unless it was very cheap

What an absolute find this was! A brilliant room, immaculately clean and one of the comfiest hotel beds I've ever slept in. Beyond the room, the team were first class. Extra special mention for Imogen in the 5th floor Brasserie who went out of her way to make everything perfect. Also - book breakfast! You will not be disappointed ! All in all, this was a great stay, and I am certain we'll be back again.

Arrived back at hotel after an event, at 22.10.. my partner and his mate ordered drinks whilst myself and my mate went to toilet.. only gad three drinks prior to thos.. for my partner and hos mate to be told we had stumbled to the toilet and after these drinks we were not allowed anymore! My mate went up to var to get another drink.. being told by the young guy with the beard that we we mot allowed any more drinks.. we were staying at this hotel.. spoke to the manager.. who was lovely but stood by her bar staff... we were not allowed anymore drinks.. I write this on 23.27pm.. on.. 22/11/2024.. not drunk.. but extremely disappointed on the bar staff and managerial at the Abode.. sadly wouldn't recommend here.. but hopefully others will be treated fairly..

Very good sized rooms, clean and tidy, typically modern style so a bit soulless. If you book direct you're given preference for free upgrades (which I got). Excellent breakfast, served on the top floor with nice views over Chester. Waiting staff friendly and efficient. Little Roodee car park just a couple of minutes walk away and the city centre is only 5 - 10 minutes walk.

We came from out of town and asked at reception if we could possibly have breakfast and to our delight we could. We both had poached eggs and they were delicious. We even told the girls at the treatment rooms next door and they said they'll give it a try

We had the best experience, as it was our wedding day we asked to check in early as we was getting married early afternoon. And within 20 minutes of ringing they called back and gave us an upgrade to a bigger suite and was ready to check in immediately and had champagne in our room also. Sadly we couldn't drink it as the now wife is pregnant with our second child. Food was exyand service was just amazing would definitely stay again. Thank you again for making our stay very special

Visited Abode for a friend's birthday lunch. Stunning hotel right next to Chester race course with amazing views across it and beyond to the Welsh mountains. The food was very nice but the portions are pretty small, especially for the high prices. I would recommend this hotel for its design, position and ambience but beware the service charges..10% on everything and that includes each time you go to the bar! The drinks prices are jaw dropping (cheapest bottle of pint grigio was £33 + £3.30 service charge!) and the parking is £12.50! Really lovely place but won't be rushing back ..Strictly for very well lined pockets!

Fantastic hotel and even better location! Rooms were spacious and clean, nice bathrooms. The service was exceptional, we decided to extend our stay at 11pm the night before and they sorted everything out as soon as we asked (kept the same room etc). Breakfast was STUNNING. We paid £14 for both. The view is gorgeous over the racecourse. You have your order taken but everything is included on the menu, and it's unlimited. The food was presented beautifully, and was delicious and great quality. We're coming back again, definitely!

Had the chance to stay at the hotel for a business trip, overall it was a really great stay. Everything is clean and well organized and the room was very comfortable. Breakfast was really good and the gym was a real one. Some things that can be improved : - wifi (terrible signal). Knowing that many of the guests were also there for business, it may be useful to have a strong network. - No free water. We had to pay for the water (even first bottles). Water bottles were outside the traditional drinks and snack basket leading to believe it was part of the package. - staff was very helpful and nice when asked something but not really friendly. The majority of them didn’t greet. They were very concise and almost whispering. Maybe it’s a cultural thing but I like to have warm relationships. They were overall very professional but a small adjustment depending on your interlocutor would be appreciated.

I stayed at The Abode, Chester as a last minute city break. The room was great, the staff really helpful and breakfast was really good! It's in a great location, in the centre of Chester with plenty of places to eat and drink within a few minutes walk.

Overall a great hotel for the price. Some areas could do with updating (e.g TV in room is small and old, but we didn’t travel to watch TV so not a big issue). A clean, comfortable hotel with on-site secure parking close the Chester centre (and race course) is the main benefit.

Treated ourselves to an overnight stay. Have stayed before about 3 years ago. Received a warm welcome from Chloe on reception. Hotel is partway through an upgrade. Hotel & room decor stylish & elegant. Our room was spacious, clean and very comfortable. Breakfast was just as good as our previous visit with continental and full English options with glorious views over the grounds. We did not visit the spa or golf facilities this time but enjoyed a walk of the grounds & sculpture garden. If you're looking for a comfortable quality stay you can't go wrong here.

Girl with red hair on reception really needs some new customer service skills or a better suited job... wfh away from the general public. Young girl with tattoos was lovely as always. Second time visiting and red haired woman really ruined the vibe. No name badge so unsure of her name as no introduction. Looked extremely bored and uninterested - unwilling to help. Didn't go into detail of what facilities were available to us and when, just seemed to want to end the interaction as soon as possible and get back to what she said doing (nothing we were the only ones in there). Luckily, it was our second time here so we're somewhat familiar with what was on offer. Wasn't busy at all so no excuse of being rushed off her feet. Went into the back to hide from customers. No one on the desk when we went for our treatment and when we came back. It's a shame because it is a nice spa - but the people on reception are the first point of contact and can really have a lasting effect on the day. Treatment was average - again, masseuse seemed bored and unenthusiastic. Probably won't be visiting again unfortunately. Food was expensive for what it was. Staff insisted that we were to pick what we wanted to eat immediately as soon as we got there at 9am, despite being the only ones eating. Not sure why it was such an immediate factor. No offer of anything else to drink from the fridge, no would you like anything else how was your meal etc. Abysmal service. Like I said, Rowton Hall is nice but uninterested staff ruin the vibe.
