Like it here. Nice views, great outdoor seating, great selection of beers. Staff are polite but haven’t found them very friendly on the few occasions I’ve been here to be totally honest. Gets extremely busy especially on hot bank holiday weekends so booking is essential but don’t leave it too late.

We went to telfords warehouse twice on a 2 night trip to chester. 1st night, Sunday, we saw 2 live singers. 2nd night, Monday, we did the quiz. Both very good. Clientele is mainly young, it's right next to student accommodation. It is also on the canal and has quite a lot of outdoor tables which we also made use of. Great atmosphere, helpful staff. Would recommend.

I love Telford, such a wonderful building an really quiet spot overlooking the canal basin and just off the walls. There a a huge range of great beers on tap and in the fridge and a really good selection of fresh and very tasty food. The butchers sausages, mash and gravy were cut above the usual fare at other pubs. The gravy was absolutely incredible. We sat outside on the many tables, while it was still warm enough and then moved in by the huge windows and watched the comings and going of the narrow boats.

The Telford warehouse is a very nice place indeed. It's quite large, but not boring. There is a sort of open plan feel, however when we were here one area was sectioned off for what appears to have been a party. The way that this was done was very nice for the guests and those not in that group. There is local parkingbon site, but not a lot you may need to park in the local carpark if you cannot park here. Food was excellent, well presented hot and of a quantity that would not disappoint even the most hungry persons. The drinks selection is huge, bso I speculate that there will be something for everyone. The atmosphere is relaxed and informal. The old quirky signs on the walls hint of bygone times (the term motorcar is used on one) Spot on! There is plenty of seating, but from experience a phone call ahead of time is likely to be better for ensuring a table is available. Bathrooms are down some steps. A most excellent place to eat and drink for sure.

Dropped in Sunday night for a quiet drink with a close friend. Served a lifeless flat pint. Asked politely to the bartender to give the pint a head which the bar tender attempted to correct, unsuccessfully. I then sat down with my pint. Still not happy with my purchase i spoke to one of the staff, Zola. Not wanting to cause a scene i again politely asked if she could pop some life in my by now, very sad looking pint. The member of staff took instant offence to this, replied, what do you want me to do with it, it's a pint? to which i replied its visibly flat to which she replied, do not tell me what to do, iv'e been doing this job for over twenty years! I was shocked by her unnecessary reaction and replied i didn't mean to offend you to which she said, you clearly did. I left baffled as to why such a simple request turned into such a nightmare. To say she had a bad attitude would be an understatement. I did speak to another staff member regarding Zolas outburst, however received a flat (no pun intended) none apologetic response. Overall a shocking customer experience.

Really like this pub. Such a great place to socialise , with a big range of beers, drinks. Cannot fault the food at all. I had the sausage and mash. Never tasted sausage quite like these. The best I have ever had . Compliments to the chef ! Bar staff very friendly , very efficient and seamed no problem to split the bill between four couples. The only thing that stopped me giving a 5* was our table was set nr the main entrance. It was a chilly evening so everytime the door was opened we all got a cold blast which made the pub feel cold where we were sitting. Especially as about 30 people from a local running club all arrived at once. Could not fault anything else. Great evening. Thank you to all the staff and of course the chefs and kitchen staff

My twin brother and I were exploring around this part of the city walking around the famous Chester Walls when we decided to drop by Telfords Warehouse, been here before on quite a few occasions, always had a good time and so it proved on our latest visit to here. A great looking pub, interior is superb, light and airy, pubby decor and furnishings, a cool looking serving bar dominates the main room and there's plenty of seating options spread throughout this pub both inside and outside looking out onto the beautiful Shropshire Union Canal, its just a really good pub to unwind in. We were here on a bitterly cold February early afternoon, pub was just starting to get busy with a great atmosphere, we had a study of their beer range which I must say I was impressed with, in the end we both opted to have pale ale's from Weetwood Ales Brewery ( Cheshire cat blonde ale ) ,these were served in pristine condition, we chilled out, warmed up and planned out the day ahead while sipping our pale ale's. My pale ale was really good, a crisp, golden pale ale, hints of toffee, a delicious aroma and aftertaste with a smooth finish, a classic British pale ale served in a classic British pub, its hardly surprising that this pub is so popular with ale's served in this good a condition by staff who are genuinely pleased to see you in their pub. We really enjoyed our pale ales in here before we moved on and although our visit was only fleeting as on every other visit to Telfords Warehouse we had a great time. Telfords Warehouse is easy to locate along Raymond Street on the canal basin. Opening hours are; Monday to Sunday, open from midday. A wonderful pub in a wonderful location, well worth checking out if you're in the area or planning a trip to Chester.

Telfords Warehouse is a superb restaurant and pub that offer a good food and drink's range and was just one of the many places we visited on our two day visit to Chester. Housed in a Georgian warehouse that was built by Thomas Telford in the 1790's and is a magnificent reminder of the thriving port area of Chester.Telfords Warehouse has a stripped-back interior thats looks amazing with many interesting fixtures and features and excellent seating areas throughout it's whole interior. They host live music and show case up and coming new bands. As we visited here early in the afternoon there weren't no bands or singer's on we only visited for there superb cask ale's.We were walking around the city wall's and made a slight detour to here for a few beers. It wasn't particularly busy when we went to here but it was early in the afternoon. When we visited here we had a couple glasses of cask ales from the Salopian brewery which were excellent and were well priced. It's a superb restaurant and pub that's in a superb area of the city and its a place well worth a visit if your around this area.(This is my first review of Telfords Warehouse). Opening Hours. Monday-Thursday-12.00-23.00. Friday-Saturday-12.00-00.00. Sunday-12.00-23.00.

4 of us came for an early evening meal tonight, Wednesday. The place was uncomfortably cold, so we all kept our coats on. Next to us was a table of 4 guys who were loud and swearing. I had my elderly mother with me, and she felt very uncomfortable. The two barking dogs didn't help either. 3 of us ordered fish and chips. These arrived on cold plates, and the chips were barely warm. They were accompanied by a mountain of garden peas, for some unknown reason. When our replacement meals arrived, the plates were still stone cold, and the chips had been refried to death. One staff member came to ask how the food was. I told her it was "decidedly average", and she walked off. We gave up. My meal was removed from the bill, and a discount was applied to the other meals. We still ended up being charged £61 for a very disappointing experience all round.

The think and drink quiz night had a great atmosphere, its an enjoyable evening with plenty of friendly rivalry, the staff are polite and helpful. Its handy having their own car park though sometimes it can be full and I have had to park on the main road at the top of the hill. Not great if you have mobility issues if distance is a problem. Despite the pub being surrounded by student accommodation we have never experienced any trouble from the residents. We noticed during the last couple of visits an older guy with a fiat campervan and a dog dealing small bags of substances to groups of other pub revellers and saw exchange of money. Occasionally they have been seen sitting inside the campervan drinking cans of alcohol and smoking spliffs. Jez should be more careful about what is happening on his premises as it would be a shame if that kind of activity ruins his reputation. Jez sacked staff who was dealing and using on the premises. His business is known to be strict on drug use. Each time we go on a Monday, we have a great time. Thumbs up to the staff.

There were no disabled spaces on the car park, to enter the premises one has to climb about 10 steps,(not easy if you walk with a stick). The ambience was was noisy, tables were rather close together and it was impossible to have a quiet conversation. ( It was 1.30 pm and very busy). We didnt expect fast food but the wait for our meal I felt was excessive. Dogs are welcome, on the window sill by the entrance was a jar of Doggy treats. To use the downstairs toilets a number of steps caused difficulties for a disabled person. I would dine here again for the food alone but stairs will prevent me.

I’ve been going to Telfords all my life and love the bar, atmosphere and location. I remember the food being a solid choice a few years back, with a nice variety of options, so I chose it to take my parents and in-laws last night. Firstly it took a good 15 mins to be asked if we wanted anything to drink which was a disappointing start. Then the starters were all very mediocre: chicken karaage was dry and flavourless, calamari was tough and lukewarm and prawns were gritty. Then for mains, the pastas were okay and the fish and chips was received well, but I had a Thai red curry that was in fact yellow and thick with lemongrass fibres in it that I assumed were hairs. This was cleared up with a staff member (who was nice) but it just felt like a minimal effort dish that could’ve been used for a microwave meal. I was left disappointed and wanted to write a review to warn anyone who was thinking of dining there based off of past experiences. I’m not sure what’s changed but it just wasn’t the same :( I’ll be back for drinks but won’t be eating again unfortunately!

We felt like we were just an inconvenience from the moment we walked through the door. My Mum has always chosen the blue cap as a meeting place as it is pretty much equal distance between our properties, but I think after the now 5th disappointing visit we shall find somewhere else. The lady who always seems to serve us when we visit is so rude, she is impatient when taking your order, and tries to ignore you as much as she possibly can when you try to order any extras after the initial food order has been taken ( we have frequently ended up having to go to the bar to order drinks and puddings, and even to pay the bill, usually alongside other guests having to do the same). This last visit was possibly the worst. I was served tea with the milk jug shoved in the cup so that she could carry the pot and cup/milk without bothering with a tray. This was plonked unceremoniously without a word on the table in front of my mum ( I had ordered the tea), and when I tried to get a new cup ( because the grubby milk jug had left a gritty mark) she blatantly ignored me until the tea was cold. My daughter asked for mayonnaise with her chips which was served in a small ramekin with a thick 'skin' formed on the mayo. When she dipped her chips in it and took a bite we discovered it had gone off ( or wasn't mayonnaise - it tasted awful). She decided not to ask for more as we were being ignored and she thought her chips would probably go cold before we received a new one, and that we would probably be offered a new pot of the same mayonnaise. I ordered a lemonade for my son which was served gripped by the rim of the glass ( where you drink from) rather than held around the middle of the glass which is the usual and hygienic way of doing so, which was really off putting. We eventually had to go to the bar to pay as nobody came over to the table after our mains were served. We were never offered menus for pudding. We are not troublesome customers, we didn't even complain about our treatment ( I know we should have, and perhaps some of the issues are our fault for not doing so), so I really have no idea why we were treated so badly. The food can be ok, but for the price you pay for main meals you can get a far superior meal a few minutes down the road at the fishpool or abbey arms, and much, much better service. A meal out is meant to be a treat, the service at this pub makes it feel anything but. We shall not be returning.

Used to have good value breakfasts etc with tea/coffee, now they dont even have a menu ! You order from a board not knowing the prices ! Food is still good just a bit pricey for us biking pensioners 🙃
