Piccolino in Cheshire West and Chester

Fabio and the team, gave excellent, friendly and efficient service for ny son's wedding celebration, attending to every detail for us. The food was delicious and we had a lovely time.

Really enjoyed our experience, birthday party family meal with 20 people, can't fault anything about it.

We got a walk in at the bar on bank holiday weekend. Despite being at the bar our service was brilliant. I have a severe peanut allergy and this was taken very seriously by staff which made my dining experience great. We really enjoyed.

We regularly visit piccolino in Chester from north wales and we eat here at least once a week. From the second you walk in the staff are so friendly and attentive, they honestly can’t do enough for you! The food is always gorgeous and worth every penny. The staff are so thorough and perfectionists our wine glasses are never empty. They always have a smile on their face and it is clear all staff have been trained to a high standard - particularly Ashley and Fabio who regularly serve us. Cosmo the restaurant manager always adds a personal touch by greeting us when we are seated and checking every thing is ok. The setting is gorgeous and clean, laid back vibes, top quality food at reasonable prices. Our favourite place!

We had a reservation for a Hen party. Most of the meals out of 15 was so salty! No garlic on the garlic bread. When we approached the manager about this he didn’t want to know, attitude was absolutely shocking.

Had a fantastic evening, Our large party of 24 was expertly catered for and the food was exceptional. They made arranging our event very easy. We were asked to pre-order with such a large party to ensure that they could offer the best service. The restaurant went the extra mile with name cards and menu choices printed to set on the table. All the staff were super helpful and attentive.

Great atmosphere and perfectly OK service. BUT, what is going on with their food? To be fair, the fish looks lovely and fresh and well cooked but we were a table of 10 and had to order in advance. Being an "Italian", opted for a pizza and my daughter chose spaghetti carbonara. My pizza was pretty forgettable being soggy and lacking in mozerella but the carbonara was easily the worst I've ever tasted, oily not creamy and not even olive oliy. We should really have sent it back but we're celebrating a special birthday so didn't want to make a scene. How, as an Italian, can't you make a half decent carbonara?! I won't be returning which is a shame as the place has a good atmosphere and the fish options look really good.

Had a lunchtime meal here normally go to our local Piccolinos but we were in Chester so thought it would be a nice change. Unfortunately not, my pasta dish had so much salt in it I just couldn’t eat it, was inedible after 4/5 bites. There was no apology, nothing from the waitress. Very poor customer service. Normally meals are fab so will be sticking to our local one and won’t be back here. They also don’t give the club lunch menu out. You have to ask for this!

Brought back fond memories of our time in Florence and Rome. Doesn't feel like a chain restaurant to me, definitely a rarity these days. Healthy mix of affordable+expensive options.

I’ve been to a few Piccolino restaurants before and really like the chain - has the feel of an independent rather than a small chain, despite being a small chain. This one in Chester is bright and welcoming, situated underneath The Leonardo hotel, opposite a big car park and near to the city walls. A decent location and only a few minutes’ walk into the City Centre - very convenient for the Roman Amphitheatre if you wanted to walk over after dinner and see the tethering stone. Booked online, but my booking was lost. No woe though, for they were still able to seat us straight away despite being busy. The table selection is a bit odd - some oversized benches for five dominate, with other tables feeling a little squished and overlooked in between. Got a nice big table on a side bench though, so that was good. Big open kitchen to the side, with more seating arrayed for singletons. A general air of bustle about the place. Wild. Invigorating. Service was very good - drinks on arrival. The beer was Sardinia’s own Ichnusa - you like to see it. The beer. Disappointed to see they only have Moretti glasses - I like beers served in their own branded glass or in something plain. Not the end of the world, but still. Food was excellent - giant arancini to start was gorgeous and then the Spagna pizza with hot honey and blue cheese. I like that pizza - plenty of honey on this one. Yum. Tiramisu for dessert, a nice square slab. No complaints at all about the food, all good and hearty. The people next to us had some sort of sharing steak platter which was huge. It scared me slightly to watch. Such a big piece of meat 😆 Overall an excellent experience and I would definitely return here in future.

Nothing special, rely on your wealth as ignorance… little did they know I own a steak business so when they sent me ‘f1 wagyu’ blue when asked for medium sent it back, told no more f1 wagyu left so will replace with next best thing..? Tried to bill us for the price of f1 for the steak, jokes on you piccolino 😂 waiter was nice but that was the only good thing about the experience.. take the advice from a chef and don’t waste your money here, go to a smaller business who deserves it

We had a birthday lunch yesterday, which was made extra special by the staff. The food was lovely and the surprise mini birthday cake at the end of the meal, jyst made our experience so special, thank you, you are an was amazing team.

Myself and my husband had a glorious evening at piccolino in Chester. From the moment we arrived the staff were warm, welcoming and friendly. The food was impeccable, delicious and gorgeously presented. I would like to say a special mention to cosimo the manager who went above and beyond he's amazing at what he does!! and also his hardworking team :) We will definitely return.

Wow my wife and I visited Piccolino for the first time and both of us would highly recommended this place. Fresh tasty food to accommodate everyone. Delicious where each dish is presented with absolute perfection. Cosimo and his team are superb in what they do nothing is too much trouble, with an unbelievable attention to detail. The staff create an atmosphere ensuring you feel relaxed and able to just enjoy the amazing food and drinks. Clear to see from Cosimo and his team how much it means to each and everyone of them to make the evening special. A real taste of Italy and will be back very soon thankyou all.

Visited on News Years Day evening, not a very comfortable restaurant to sit on, v noisy, menu as online, food was good, v tasty calamari and pasta dishes BUT we felt that for the quality and quantity of food it was overpriced (over £100) and we left dissatisfied and still a little hungry. We will not recommend nor revisit

We visited and were severely disappointed, very loud, cold food and not very friendly, caring or helpful staff including management. They didn’t have enough Staff and are not child or family friendly. We paid £65 for a set meal and every course for both me and my husband arrived cold. My son had a serious accident here and the management staff were far from helpful and went as far as to suggest I was neglectful and possibly did it on purpose. Disgusted. I won’t be back

Excellent service nice food big portions food was delicious WOW

An appalling experience, having got together with family we rarely see for a supposedly “nice” meal / dining experience we sat down, ordered drinks which then came, to be told that there were no pizzas, no doughballs, no Calzones, so basically all there was was pizza or extortionately priced steak! Given I don’t generally like pasta, paying £16 for a (stingy) potion of Carbonara was shocking at best, an experience shared by many of the other members of the party. Furthermore it took almost 45 minutes between starters and main courses to arrive, the restaurant then had the cheek to add a £25 tip to the bill!!!! Surely at the very least we should have been told when we entered and were greeted that you had no dough based items (50% of your menu I might add). Given the prices you charge I would expect better, I have no issue paying for a meal when the service and food justifies it… this particular experience failed miserably on both of those fronts!

Expensive and beyond mediocre… The bang average service was the highlight really. The seating was poorly done, the food and drinks prices were criminal and not to mention the food itself was horrendous. My linguine’s king prawn wasn’t washed and had sand in it. My friend’s pasta was clearly reheated as it was overcooked and barely lukewarm, the ravioli portion was small and not good. They’re so cheap the hot water tap men’s bathroom was cold. Would not recommend, the restaurant is all style and no substance, pretentious crap at criminal prices.

Food was fantastic but had to wait long time for each course. Mains plate was stupidly hot and burnt my wife’s arm. Nothing too serious but luckily not a child’s dish.

Seating could be improved as they're long tables and and it's not easy to get from your seat as everyone has to move out of their seat for you to pass.

My friend & I had the most amazing food, they certainly catered for gluten free, we'd never been here before, but was definitely be visiting again.

Very busy on arrival so took some time to get seated despite booking. Enjoyable evening, some dishes could and should have been warmer, my calves liver was really tasty.

Very Long wait times with 1 time waiting over 45min for a table we booked, every time I’ve been in recent months there has always been at least 3 things not available. The food has gone down hill with some of my old favourite dishes (the garlic bread and lobster) now being bad. shame as used to go a lot

Regular customer. Yesterday was my partner’s Bday and went there for dinner. We had celebrate him earlier anyway, but I wanted to make it even more special asking the stuff for a small cake like a surprise but the guy who brought the cake just ruined everything. The way he just threw it in the corner of our table without saying ‘happy birthday’ or making the moment special, was just rude and sad. My partner felt offended and frustrated. Thank you for ending his special day this way!!😤

We had a great time last night at this Italian restaurant. Unfortunately today my friends and I were affected with severe stomach aches and severe diarrhea. We weren't together before we met in the restaurant so that leaves little room for coincidence. We had eaten fish dishes and the water had a bad taste. It's really a shame!

What a horrendous restaurant with extortionate prices, miserable staff and substandard food, the pizza I had was nearly raw!!! Two glasses of wine for £30!! Automatic addition of 10% from t gratuity and the service was shocking!! Never ever again will I step foot in this awful restaurant chain!

First the Good News. The food was excellent, especially the crab ravioli. Only the tiny oysters almost down to the size of a large mussel were disappointing. The Bad News The Design With so many hard surfaces a convex ceiling seemingly designed to reflect noise back into the dining area and very crammed space, AND we were really packed in!, everybody was shouting at the top of their voices. Even our teenagers, (people not usually averse to noise!) mentioned they could hardly hear the person sat next to them. We arrived home exhausted! £39.50!! for a bottle of Prosecco was way over the top and it took 1 1/2 hours from arrival to receiving our first course and the restaurant was not full. We've had the same meal in Piccolino in Hale, and have always enjoyed them, (hence our Chester visit) The ambience in Hale INMO was far superior. To summarise, The food was GREAT, apart from the oysters, but we would not return, purely because of the noise and the cramped space. We would however return to other Piccolino restaurants, especially Hale, but would check Trip Advisor comments first, re comfort and noise levels! Oh! and we would keep away from the highly priced modest INMO wines. This is a good quality chain restaurant but NOT a San Carlo standard restaurant.

The food was just fantastic. As soon as we walked through the door we were made to feel totally welcome. The service was impeccable. Our server Fabio was a star. Can’t wait to return.

Visited 29/10/24. Disappointing experience. Whilst my wife ordered the Lasagne, I decided to order the Calzone. Terrible mistake. We had our appetiser of cheese and garlic delivered to the table , this was nice but not very much garlic. A longer wait between this and the main course as they seemed to be struggling in the kitchen. We eventually received the main course. Lasagne was fine but the calzone was a large lump of pizza base with a disappointingly tiny number of what appeared to be meat balls and peppers, as I removed 70% of the dry base with no sauce or filling I discovered a stone cold filling which I sent back to the kitchen, I got a replacement calzone suspiciously quickly, at least it was hot. However when I prised it open the filling consisted of four small pieces of meat and some watery, but tasty tomato sauce, no peppers or anything else at all. After another complaint i wasn’t charged for this item of the meal, but I was charged for everything else and received no apologies for the terrible quality of the meal. I was also charged £5 service charge. Paid bill minus service and left. My advice is avoid calzone at all costs

If u like raw food this is the place to go.

Last night my boyfriend took me here as we stayed the night in Chester. The food was amazing and the staff were all lovely and friendly. Then little did I know my boyfriend planned a surprise for me so when he asked for the bill, they came over with a plate saying will you marry me and a engagement ring in the box on the plate. All staff and customers all congratulated us even one of the staff videoed it all for us. Made it really special for us. So Thank you so much

Piccolinos: Great food and service! We had a wonderful meal at Piccolinos. The Wagyu steak was cooked perfectly and the penne pasta was delicious. Our waitress, Faten, was fantastic and made our experience even better. The restaurant has a nice atmosphere too. We highly recommend it!

We had a nice meal there late on a Sunday eve. The food and wine were perfect and we had great, friendly service from our server Louisa. Recommended

We first started with a few drinks at the bar, quite a pleasant experience with the host of the venue being rather friendly. Once we were seated we were handed the wine and food menus, the selection of wine was very impressive some expensive and some affordable. We then were approached for our orders. I ordered a garlic bread with cheese for a starter for me and my partner to share. For our mains we ordered a margherita pizza and the salmon tagliatelle. The starter arrived within 20 minutes. The garlic bread was exceptional, the cheese blend that was used really was exemplary, it was salty but not over powering and the garlic was subtly yet tasty. The mains however did come out whilst we were still eating our starter. The main courses arrived whilst we were eating our starter however the presentation was amazing, both pizza and pasta dishes did not dissapoint. The salmon was by far the best dish of the evening, very rich in taste and worked extremely well with the pasta sauce. The pizza on the other hand seemed rather bland and boring. It felt like the pizza was missing something, maybe a different mozerella cheese blend would really improve this dish. As a whole our experience was pleasant and we would visit in the future, however the atmosphere is on the louder side than the usual small italian restaraunt. However Prices seem fair and the staff seem lovely.

Nice food, lovely atmosphere, good selection of wine and cocktail menu.

£13 for a large glass of wine was only the start. We went on to have a half a slice of toasted bread with a tomato on it, called bruschetta, at £9 and the bill went on increasing from there. Yes, my arancini was tasty but needed a mortgage to pay for it. We waited 30 minutes between first course and the mains, with no apology or the attention of our waitress. When the mains finally arrived, my penne arabiata was nothing special, not even fresh pasta, and my wife's fish skewers were just about acceptable. The final bill, with no additional drinks except sparking water, came to £111.38 and that included an undeserved service charge. Needless to say I will avoid the Piccollino chain of restaurants, in the future - rip-off other tourists!

Just wanted to say what a lovely meal and experience we had . We had been in Chester for the weekend for the races . We ate on the Friday night at the very over priced , over rated restaurant across the road and were vey disappointed. So when on an off chance we got a table at picolinos on the sat night , it was a very good choice . Food was amazing , great atmosphere and the staff were attentive and efficient.

Starter olives were quite pathetic value, 8 ordinary green olives for £5.50 ! My pizza was ok, fairly priced but quite ordinary, others enjoyed sea bass quite well but so they should at the high prices charged ! Quite a lot of customers, guess mainly tourists unaware of better value alternatives in the city.

The food was lovely and fresh but the service was disappointing, we waited 1 hour for the mains and when confronting this concern with the manger, they suggested it was only “16 minutes”… in which we requested a complimentary drink which was not forthcoming. Needless to say I won’t be returning.

Lovely menu but limited availability pending on time of day at 3-30pm we were the only customers in the whole place and waitress was happy to be behind bar minimal dessert menu and for 3,50 a cup coffee was like sawdust classy fascia but not food we dined in.

On Friday 26th July me and my boyfriend visited this restaurant for the first time as we was having a night away for my boyfriends birthday, everything was amazing. The staff were so friendly and the food was amazing. They even sang to my boyfriend and gave a complimentary birthday cake. Would 100% recommend.

I came for a lunch with my friend and we had a lovely afternoon. The waitress was really kind and attentive and recommended us a lovely Rosé, and the food was delicious. We got the duck and the salmon pasta. Would definitely recommend!
