The Fresh Pasta Kitchen in Cheshire West and Chester

Came across Cheshire Market by chance whilst visiting the city. Decided to eat from from here and so glad we did. Whilst waiting to order a customer came to compliment them on the Carbonara. We had mushroom risotto and gnocchi, best we’ve ever tasted. Would love to eat here again.

One of the best pasta arrabiata I’ve had in a while! Definitely worth a try for anyone looking for a light but delicious pasta. Will definitely be going again just to try the other options. Highly recommend

Really nice pasta, all homemade which is great and rarely seen. They even customised the pasta for us and made us a truffle carbonara which was lovely!

We had the bruschetta, carbonara and truffle chips - all far too heavily salted and couldn’t finish them.

Amazing food, feels very Italian and the staff in here are lovely, thoughtful and welcoming. Would 100% recommend.

Fantastic! Had the pesto penne and it was clearly a freshly made pesto, tasted incredible.

Penne arrabbiata was outstanding. I usually give pasta a miss when I’m out because it’s “such an easy dish to make at home” - this was obviously nothing like that. Fresh pasta, fresh sauce, it was a really deep rich flavour and fantastic texture. Highlight of my trip. Thankyou.

Fantastic food, the guys are making the proper Napolitan food and manage to create a wonderful atmosphere. Incredibly friendly people, Especially the Chef Salvatore is the loveliest customer oriented guy!

Took my wife for some authentic Italian food and wasn’t disappointed. I had arancini and my wife had penne pesto. Really enjoyed it and will definitely be returning. Service and atmosphere was spot on. 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

If you like Italian food I genuinely don’t think you’ll find more authentic and as tasty locally, everything home made with the best Italian ingredients! Absolutely 10 out of 10 delicious!

I'm vegetarian and I accidentally ordered a non vegetarian option. However, Gbnnaro one of the chefs', attended to me and helped me choose a vegetarian dish and replaced it for me free of charge. Really appreciate this gesture, this is customer service done right . Thank you.

If you want rude customer service go here. It’s not just been to me, but recently went with colleagues, two of whom ordered from your stall. One was given bruschetta instead of arancini( which was more pricey) and just told to have the bruschetta cause they didn’t have the arancini, without any offer for refund for the price difference. My other colleague was also served pesto pasta without the pine nuts( again a more pricey ingredient). The rude service tends to be from the big guy with glasses who works there most of the time and tends to wear a khaki green shirt ( sorry to describe him this way but I don’t know how else).

Highly recommend this place! I tried spaghetti bolognese and spaghetti carbonara on two separate occasions. Both good! The staff are nice and friendly!

Absolutely the best pasta you’ll get in Chester. I had the spaghetti carbonara and my friend had penne pesto. We shared bruschetta. Glorious, all of it. The smokey pancetta were little nuggets of deliciousness amid the creamy sauce. My friend wouldn’t let me try her penne pesto, which says it all really. The bruschetta was fresh, zingy and herby. I wish I could eat there every day.

Visited today with my little boy, the pasta was wonderful. The sauce was lovely! The gentleman serving us was very helpful too, however the man cooking the pasta was extremely rude and unpleasant. I would return again, just probably not when that man is there!

WOW! Had a bowl of Arrabiata at Chester market. I eat a lot of pasta and this was the most delicious. I've had in years. Bursting with flavour. Warn, friendly people too.

Had the truffle fries, carbonara and penne arabiata. Truffle fries not nice at all it’s a very odd taste. Carbonara spaghetti only just done and very black peppery. Penne was ok. Overall not worth the £35 we paid for the meal wouldn’t return.

I really hate cold pasta and that's what I got. I couldn't be bothered sending it back (not enough time). The taste was good although the tagliatelli strands were all stuck together. If your hungry - one portion will not be enough. Think of it as stop gap.

Ordered gnocchi. Uncertain as to whether was due to them being busy or is their usual portion. Got about 12 gnocchi portions. Appreciate authentic Italian is small portion but equated to about a pound a gnocchi. Complete rip off. Plenty of nice places in the market that offer better food and better value for money.

Had beef tagliatelle which was excellent. So tasty! Cheese sprinkled on top. Decent size portion, I was full up and did not need a dessert.

Excellent fresh dishes, I recommend excellent chefs.

We have been there quite few times now, we had the carbonara pasta which was absolutely the best I’ve ever had, highly recommended.

Nicely located inside Chester Market. The service was really nice and the people working there had a nice sense of humour. The food was made on point and the cost was adequate. They were generous with the Parmesan! I can gladly recommend this place!

The food is great quality and the staff are lovely, the food comes really fast and tastes lovely too.

This place had some of the best pasta I've eaten, bar none. I can wholeheartedly recommend the beef shin tagliatelle, which had a rich meaty flavor and plenty of tender pieces of slow-cooked meat. My partner got the penne, which had a wonderfully sharp, tangy tomato sauce. I'm writing this review in May 2024, 7 months after having my meal here, and I still think about this place from time to time. That's how good the food was!

We both agreed it was the best risotto we've ever had, absolutely delicious. The penne was also excellent.

Been there many times with my partner and always had an excellent experience. Our favourites are Beef Raghu and Carbonara. I’d highly recommend it if you are into authentic Italian food.

Chester market was lovely and staff were friendly. However, the food was left with much to desired - penne arrabbiata at £11.5 was penne in tomato sauce (nothing else) and carbonara came with a few pieces of tiny bacon. I definitely get better value on pasta elsewhere.

We’ve been to the market several times now, and I wish I’d tried this one before. I ordered a daily special and wish I could remember the name, it had beautiful tagliatelle, courgettes and cheese and was absolutely delicious. I wish I had the recipe. I can’t wait to come back and try something else. The chap behind the counter was very friendly, as well being an excellent cook.

Tried to go here twice. First time was told there wasn't enough staff to serve me. Second time they had no ingredients. I give up. Update: This review is completely true and based on my last 2 experiences (a week apart) walking up to the fresh pasta kitchen counter and trying to do something so radical as order some food. I have removed the no gloves point based on the reply and their handwashing policy.

Traditional pasta with a twist and tasted amazing. Went with me and my two kids they offered a kids portion for £7 they Italian guy was amazing with the kids and made them laugh. 100% coming back again for more.

Fantastic pizza, the base was great with the amount and balance of toppings spot on.

I was really looking forward to me Tagliatelle Carbonara. Such a disappointment. The pasta was over cooked and was just a lump in my dish. Cheese was very overpowering. Overall very disappointed and wouldn’t recommend.

This place is awful! I don’t really know where to start but we will start with the food some of the pasta is okay but very bland, also the Risotto was awful it tasted just like salt and nothing else perhaps it was a bad day. They also have an open kitchen plan style as it is in the market but I have seen one of the members of staff handle cash and then put their fingers into the sauce to try I have also seen another member of staff trying the sauce with the same fingers twice without washing, which isn’t the best sight to see. The staff are also quite rude and dismissive but as I said it could of just been a bad day.

Thoroughly enjoyed my penne aubergine parmigiana. Freshly prepared, served quickly and piping hot. Very good value as the portion was enormous, could have easily served 2 people. Worth a return visit.

This is a great restaurant serving freshly cooked pasta. The food was authentic, fresh and tasted great. All at a reasonable price. If you are in the mood for pasta look no further. Great service!

I have eaten here 3 times now. The first I was impressed. Food delicious. The last 2 times been really disappointed with the food - the pesto pasta was dull and the risotto was so over garlicked it was unpleasant to eat. The server was also grumpy and unfriendly. So will try elsewhere now.

We love a good pasta dish & a good side, end of day service is an excellent chance to see if sevice remsin consistent from start to finish, we ordered a beef shin tagliatelle with a side of truffle fries & thus is what the doctor ordered, after an afternoon of 5 star posh dining we took on the Chester Market in the evening. Fresh pasta kitchen 😋 was in a word Yummy, a good portion both main & side & full on flavour, beef shin melted in your mouth with an accompanying sauce that was delicious 😋 but needed a tab more tang, fries 🍟 are not hard to get wrong, a good chip covered in chives, Parmalat cheese & truffle oil in a winner & these were fabulous, in all we all enjoyed the taste, value, quality & consistency between portions & for a food stall serving end of a busy day, we got your back on this your a winner 🏆 thank you
