If you are on holiday or just passing by, do not fail to stop and enjoy this gem of a cafe and you will be welcomed like old friends by Andrew, his Team and of course his 'greeters', Sam and Rocky, his friendly Border Collies.
The atmosphere and homeliness of this unique hostelry can only be appreciated by a visit, as also the food of course, which is delicious, generous, and ranges from scrumptious home made gateaux, to its widely renowned choice of meals.
If possible do try its selection of delicious cooked breakfasts, which really set you up for your onward journey or for your trip to the many beaches and castles etc. in which this area abounds.
If you want an experience as well as a hearty meal, we are certain you will not be disappointed - just read the many reviews....!!!
We travelled 40 miles to do a walk from Craster starting from The Piper's Pitch. We checked the evening before the opening times and that it would be open We planned on food there. Not open when we go there. Really disappointing. Spoke to staff in the Jolly Fisherman later and was told the opening is inconsistent .
Didn’t actually get to sit or eat anything which is clearly frustrating.
We did wait to be attended to for probably 20 minutes during which time none of the staff had any courtesy to speak and advise availability of tables etc.
Just too rude!
Cakes looked good in the cabinets though 🙄.
To be fair even if it was empty and the cakes were the best in the whole county, wouldn’t come back now!
We read reviews before going to Alnwick and restaurant sounded fab .. sadly Restaurant doing take away at present.so didnt sit in ..however it was honestly OUTSTANDING. NEVER tasted thai food so fresh it was my 50th and quite honestly it made my day....we got a takeaway and it was a meal we will never forget .This is a message to ANYONE who lives in or near Alnwick. If you want fresh... exceptional authentic tasting thai food packed with flavour and like to spend ure meals going..nom..nom..nom....out loud...this is the place for YOU.
I was recommended the Bari Tea Brewery by a friend and was not disappointed. The range of teas on offer was vast with many interesting flavours! I had the green ginger tea with a scone which was freshly baked and was very tasty! Service was very good and all the staff very friendly.
I've heard many good things about Rising Cafe and decided to visit the cafe this week. Loved the 1940s and 1950s theme with the old posters, the vintage radiogram and photos of the Queen's Coronation, and how the cafe helps people with issues in their lives. Also most of the meals are under £10, which is really good these days, and there is a large choice from salads to burger based meals. I was impressed and would recommend The Rising Cafe to anyone who wants a pleasant meal in nice surroundings with a theme.
Great service and value and local produce in shop. 8 of us called in for a pre-walk coffee and cake/teacake. Although the place was busy, we were served swiftly and courteously. Definitely will revisit and recommend.
Me and the wife visited here for a full English breakfast , and I must say it’s one of the best I’ve had , food very fresh and hot , caramel latte best ever, and the staff very friendly . Highly recommend, free car park at the rear.
A lovely location, sat outside in the sunshine with my dog, a pot of tea, cheese scone followed by a piece of carrot cake, absolutely delicious. Thank You, I can't wait to return
Restaurant Pine is quite remarkable in all departments; conviviality, hospitality, service, drinks, and food. The restaurant is unstuffy, and casually smart. The food is at the highest level, created from a hyper local process. Between the own grown and foraged ingredients, one would be hard pressed (as a diner) to have a meal of this calibre anywhere else in the UK. Their food balances artistry, culinary prowess, and a deep understanding of their fabulous ingredients. What they do with it all to creat such splendid dishes, is little short of utter genius to me and my palate
Often stop off in Berwick during journeys and found this little gem.
They were doing Christmas lunches but squeezed us in despite being very busy.
What can I say? Excellent service, superb food, will definitely be back. Well done to all the staff!
Great place, we were sent for breakfast from the local inn, and presented with the best breakfast we’d ever been offered!
Relaxed and friendly atmosphere, well used by the locals, (always a good sign) dog friendly - a real treat from beginning to end - many thanks
This tearoom is in the perfect location at Amble Harbour, been here a few times and the service is great, and the food so tasty home from home and more.
Fabulous find, great pub and really helpful, friendly staff. Will definitely return. Great opening hours and so lovely that it’s a proper pub for the community.
