You have to try afternoon tea here! Likely need to book in advance, we were given a great choice of sandwiches when we booked. On the day, we were seated upstairs right by the window looking over the sea, a fabulous view even on a grey winter afternoon. The food was delicious, more than we could eat though we gave it a good go. Good mix of savoury and sweet, some other afternoon teas elsewhere have too much sweet stuff. Suzanne, the owner, and the staff are so welcoming and helpful, and the cost was so reasonable. I highly recommend this place.

Me and my wife always try to get into seaglass every weekend for the amazing food and coffee, our favourites are the milk and white chocolate mocha. Suzanne has become a very good friend of us both and its always a pleasure to visit. Could not recommend this place enough.

Been going here on a weekly basis for a good while now and never disappoints. Seaglass Eatery is one of the lovely small and unique local businesses that we need to support in Newbiggin. Many artisan products and Pilgrim coffee from Holy Island which is always a treat. The Eatery continues to be a hub for support of local artists and producers. Always a friendly welcome to one and all. Lovely Airbnb accommodation with a boho feel is also available with fabulous views of the coast.

We have visited Newbiggin by the Sea several times, but have never managed to 'catch' the Sea Glass Eatery open, but this time, it was a Monday and so we were able to have breakfast. We sat outside in the sunshine and had one bacon and one sausage stotties. We were a little disappointed with the stotties - they were cold and 'claggy', but the sausage and bacon were good. The young girl who brought out the coffees needed some training in customer care, as she seemed to have a 'couldn't care less attitude'! So, after reading all the excellent reviews we were a little disappointed.

Great food and very helpful on a busy hot summer's afternoon. Cafe gave great advice on where to drop my elderly disabled parents to gain access to the cafe and were also kind enough to make up a side salad by special request. Very tasty food, highly recommended. Thank you.

We regularly visit Newbiggin and fortunately Seaglass were having a Bistro Night on our wedding anniversary. We knew it would be good but it exceeded our expectations. The food and service were exceptional. A limited menu but beautifully cooked . The waitresses were very polite and attentive. Its 3 courses but there are little extras ,such as homemade orange chocolate served after the meal ,that made the evening so special.

We recently came back for a romantic evening, during the 'valentines' weekend and wasn't disappointed ... Suzanne and team know how to make a special night special and her team offer friendly and considerate service. Seaglass is unique, combining charm with quality and a personalised experience. We will definitely return for another Bistro night.

We took a modest chance, coming here on the inaugural sitting of their Bistro night experience. I was worthwhile, warm, friendly and welcoming. Not only was the food excellent (kind of like a good gastro pub) the reception and service from Suzanne and her team made it so much more. Definitely a couples or small group experience… already planning our return.

We had missed our lunch and came across this delightful cafe along the promenade. We were welcomed by the owner and were lucky enough to find a couple of seats by the window looking over the coast. So clean and friendly, we had locally sourced sandwiches, followed by pineapple cake and a really good quality cup of coffee. Faultless!

This place is a delight. A good example of one of the ways a disadvantaged town can recover. The egg mayonnaise stottie has to be on your menu and all coffees and meals we (party of 4) had were good. The location is ideal the premises and terraces very pleasant and the staff are delightful. Don’t miss it on your seaside walk!

This place is a totally fantastic! Do not miss out on the 'Kipper in a Bun'. I wavered, and thought to maybe have a 'Banger in a Bun' although was so glad I went with the Kipper. Perfectly cooked Kippers, Lemon mayonnaise, in a soft white roll eaten on the beach was just divine. Wife's comments were 'That was Lush!'. Great friendly service and all locally sourced delicious produce. Even the coffee was from Holly Island! All in a free car park!

Popped in for a drink after a dog walk (dogs very welcome here) with my husband and daughter. My daughter had a gorgeous and generous milkshake while my husband and I had coffee and tea. The owners are lovely and the cafe was a great, welcoming space with a fun mini ice cream van for the little ones. Our dog was offered a treat (and gladly accepted!) and there was fresh water for him too. We even bought a gift from the lovely selection of gifts and homewards on offer. We didn’t eat but the food looked great and we’ll definitely be back!
